Have to say this, Captain. I love the way you tell stories. You self-deprecate, you make your point come through, and you are actually telling this story to US. My best moment in New Eden? Every day brings something new! But, there's my mentor, Kobayashi Stoner, who got tired of seeing me moon-mining on a Venture and ordered me to go buy the Procurer before he bumped me on his Orca. He even gave the cash and told me to get out of his hair. 😂 You and he share that mischief and love of newbies.

I designed a set of cruiser fits for each empire to try to max out attendees for wormhole ratting, might have been c2 rather than c3. I got shouted at by a director for not having a doctrine, my response was that doctrines only encourage non-participation in a noob corp like e-uni, with enough numbers as long as it can survive being primary, participation is more important than just efficiency.

Since i watched the captian's videos from the very start of my eve career, i had 2 dream ships (even though i started as a caldari because i didn't know better) those were the vagabond and the Hurricane. I have trained heavy assault cruisers to 4 and got a vagabond, and i am now working on battlecruiser 4, and that will be when I start saving for my hurricane. I am VERY excited! I really want a loki one of these days and maybe up to a vargur. I dont see ever flying anything larger than that. Maybe i will start learning up my caldari ships and then move to a vargur... who knows 😊 i just felt i needed to come tell Captain Benzie got the vagabond, and im 21 hours from having level 4 of minmatar battlecruiser. Thank you, sir, for the love of these ships!
Glad you're enjoying! Minmatar ships use shields and missiles too, so there's plenty to love in the Caldari tree too!
@captainbenzie I have been training missles since the and I'm working on heavy assault missles now. The Corax is still my favorite abysal ship to this day, so I don't regret being Caldari 🙂 I do love projectile cannons over hybrid cannons for sure.
Honestly, I find the fact that you make a mistake here and there from time to time, very refreshing, and the ALWAYS epic perfect gamer moves from so many content creators is a little demoralizing. Watching things done perfectly all the time makes me feel like I suck and not really want to try. Seeing that mistakes are possible and not fatal (always) is very nice to see. And yes, it does make the video way more authentic.

My brain less moment in Eve was many years ago when I got my first BS..
I was in 0.0 and had been out with friends and when I got home I wanted to test the ship out on some rats.
That part worked, a Maelstrom can handle a drunk driver fine.
The enemy corp that jumped in to system was another story.
That was the very short story of me being dumb and drunk.
I never drove my second BS while drunk ;)

You might want to try warping in a 20K or more. It aids it target segregation as the smaller ships in the wave will reach you first. Fish in a barrel. Also the next wave trigger is usually one of the larger ships which to cover 30k takes them a while.
Heck even 50 out, get their attention and then orbit your MTU.
I have to go take a look if guns are less accurate if you force the to track vertically as opposed to laterally.
I get a lot of good questions watching your videos.
Tracking is based on angular velocity and angles of traversal, so yes, vertical matters too!

What a video wow. I would have never been able to keep my composure, well done. I love the hurricane and use it for level 3 missions, however I fit it for artillery.
I did try Artillery but it doesn't really work for C2s

@@reclaimer1173 you lose that range and damage application when you remember the frigates move at twice your speed. you can keep the cruisers at range though

As a lover of autocannons and hammering shit from spitting distance, i would try that.
In echoes my favourite ship was still the stabber fleet issue, as i liked speed and to just orbit at close and hammer my targets to a wreck. I used to shieldtank it, armortank was never something i could do very well.
Like really, i wonder what stabbers can do in sites like these. Does not matter which one. I would love to see a video on what those speedy sticks can do in pve in general

Woot! Love the Stabber! Used to be a rupture pilot, but since I’ve come back I have much more time in a stabber. Recently went to a Bellicose to try it out… it’s a better Pve wise (I run active shield tank)

The only thing that upsets me a little in this fit is the signature of the ship. Due to the improved shields, it is significantly inflated, and almost all damage falls on the ship. Minmatar ships have the reputation of being the fastest+smallest (in terms of signature), I would like to try to highlight these aspects more.
I agree with you, but found this was a cheap and easy way to get the ship working with fairly low skill requirements.

Thats the original Silent Rose hull correct? I think since you have such an interesting story with that ship & are an EVE parnter, might be worth seeing if CCP would be willing to memorialize that ships wreck if you ever lose it.
Just a thought cause its going to be a sad day when you do lose that hull. Since you have been doing these lore and exploration videos the thought crossed my mind we might be flying through space and see the Silent Rose and say, "Yup, that there is where Benzies 2 brain cell claimed victory of third place."

Hey Captain, this was a nice video. I myself did some T1 in a Gila and T3 in a Rattlesnake, and it seems like it was rather overkill for those sites. Havnt tried a Drake or Cane in J-Space yet.
While i dont really want to subscribe to eve anymore, its too expensive Dollars/Euros and Plex wise, and i dont really play that much anyway, i might still try that out as an alpha, just for the lulz. I know, omega enables one for much more then just using alpha, but i am already at 150+million sp and 10+b isk :D.
Anyway, there is one thing i did when i ran j-space sites: The last wave actually has a trigger, which despawns the site from the probe scanner, meaning other people need to scan your ship/mtu out, to reach you. I cant really remember which one it is, but i guess its the strongest. Maybe that helps with some safty.

To be honest, I would have run a lot sooner than you did because I am not that great a combat pilot yet, and I run sometimes when I could probably get away with not having to run. I think it cones from loving exploration, I am just about run away 😊
Oh absolutely you should run earlier. Losing the ship doesn't matter too much to me, so I take silly risks simply to see how far the ship can go
My biggest mistake was Intel had a fleet of 3 oracles and 3 mallers and 2 broadswords on a gate so I got my pvp tengu and paladin to go kill them needless to say Intel was very wrong 20 plus cruisers and battle cruisers…

My biggest idiot moment (there have been a few, but this is the worst): I had been playing around with my Hawk fit earlier in the day. Come evening I trotted out to my usual abyssal site and entered a T1 exotic ... once inside, I realised that I had accidentally stripped all my launchers. No weapons at all. 40 mil down the drain. Doh!

I’m trying to get into Eve again, wormholes specifically, how can you exist in a wormhole without a cloak? Anytime I have a non cloaked ship in a wormhole someone comes and clears me out (I’ve only been in 3 wormholes as of now)

Hi CB,
I have noticed that in the ship descirptions in the game there are little icons to tell you how to build it. All ships are viable now. However the icon will either say frontline brawling and or hit and run. Hurricane is a brawler but it looks like maybe an armor tank, a couple of webs and the matching drones will help with application. I've never used the hurricane or done C2s as I like missioning in all types of T1 BBs. I was always told the Rohk was bad but always wanted to play it. Rubbish. Rohk is an awesome brawler with the stasis grappler to hold the targets so my Blasters and drones can go to town.
Edit: The auto target is just there so I can lock a couple more targets.
Cool fit, but it should be noted that those icons are merely suggestions. The Hurricane makes an EXCELLENT kiter and sniper. Don't discount something just because the icons suggest something else 😉

So weird....I *stopped* playing Eve in 2012 and only just picked it up again a few days ago...12 years later! I'm a Minmatar lad through and through and so I went through a lot of the Minmatar ships up to the Vargur. The Hurricane was the first ship I got wherein I actually felt I could survive (I'm a pretty awful Eve pilot, if Im brutally honest...) I still have my original Hurricane although I did notice yesterday that the fit on it appears to have been done by a blind person with amnesia.../facepalm. Still...we live and learn and I only today learned that EFT is no longer in existence. :(
My main is currently on a 40 day training spree to qualify me to fly the Nightmare...the other ship I lusted after (as well as the Rattlesnake of course!)
I'm really intrested in carriers and the Naglfar dreadnought but I'm not sure about the feasibility of mission running using carriers or deadnoughts or if theres an equivalent to missions for ships that big...
EFT has been replaced with Pyfa ☺️ Nightmare and Rattlesnake are awesome too;
@@captainbenzie Thanks for this. I was relying on the “simulation” fitting tool in Eve itself, but it’s a bit clunky and the damage numbers are way off. I fly a brawler fit Maelstrom and the DPS I’m getting is almost an order of magnitude greater than predicted by the simulation tool.
I really like PYFA though…it’s an improvement over EFT imo.
I saw your video about the Nightmare…I hate that I’ll be painting a target on my back by flying one, but I’m not going to let that stop me from having fun: It’s an amazing ship!

if you change one shield relay for a power diagnostic2 you will be cap stable but your shield regen will drop to 191 hp/s

so i was theory crafting on your fit some more and found that if you change your prop (without any other changes) to a 10mn monoprop your cap will last over 40 mins at the cost of -24m/s

How did you move your module buttons into the space where the grouped weapon mods used to be? I tried moving them in a similar way and it just wouldn't take it.
You just drag and drop them - might need to ensure that your bars aren't locked on the settings
I love WH but being a "day tripper" is becoming a bit tiring (not to mention expensive).

@@captainbenzie That's the difficult thing, I ran for a while with Inner Hell but wasn't a member. IH wasn't strictly a WH corp, but they did some evictions. At the time they had no sovereignty and didn't want any, just getting paid for eviction after eviction. It was fun, at first, but also very tiring due to EVE's eviction mechanics. If you know any good corps which are not run by schizophrenics give me a call (oh, and that have some assets in J Space) ;)
In the meantime, I prefer to have fun, do what I do in the ships I like, and lose ISK, 'cause it's cheaper than waiting around for hours for some stupid timers.
I used to like the old Wing Span way of doing things (I think the new leadership is doing everything right).

I use DScan tonnes, but equally when Im filming content I usually have friendlies around who are doing it for me and on VC 😉

Ammo is cheap and ships that use ammo have big advantages over laser usage. Don't go lasers purely because you think you're saving money - you're not. Lasers are a great weapon system, but ammo usage balance is baked in.
That said, I'm working on videos including Amarr Cruisers (have covered the Harbinger Battlecruiser, the Arbitrator and a few Omega required others). I do recommend going Omega - staying at Alpha is like sticking to the demo.
But you need to know that i'm a alpha industrialist side of the game so i'll like to produce ammo just a few times not dedicating an hour to produce a mere 8000 units of ammo(i maxed out my industry)@@captainbenzie
@@kaixiantv7835 I respect the "build it all yourself" mentality, but if you're running combat, it often works cheaper to just buy some stuff as the industrialists selling it are maxed on all tiers of production.

guns what you more like 425ac for "frig" ( but you have drone plus the c3 system) oder arty for support the main dps. when you trigger all spawns one by one the tank is no problem. you take a booster for more shild boost!

@@captainbenzie As a Wormholer from 2011 to today, The Drake was the norm back then. Then of course There was The Tengu for C4. Nowadays, feel free to add any kind of ship to the fray in sleeper sites. That I welcome.

@@captainbenzie I get what your getting at. The good news is your speak well and clearly. I think your content is best to listen to and not watched, but then why am I watching your videos?
The trick is with video creation is being accountable for every second of it. The best videos is more of a 'Show don't Tell'. Your saying a lot of important information, but its dry and easy to tune out from.
Like you mentioned in a newer video, you get questions that the video answers, but they ask anyways. Its because they have been tuned out at that moment. Everything you say you should have visual proof to be seen. Now I get it, that's a hell of a lot more production time, time and effort one person cant do.
So what I'm getting at, and its easier said then done, you got to trim the fat. There is an expression in the video world, 'You got to learn to kill your babies'. What that means is no matter how much you like something, if it does not improve the story from the viewers point of view, it damages the story.
So if you can't put in that production value in, my advise is do your best when editing is really consider what is needed and not needed for the video. Cut out the rambles. Cut out the things you repeat, and cut out anything that has nothing to do with the title intent of the video. Most of your videos could be halved, and would be twice as good for it. Hard to see from your point of view cause each video is your baby, I know, I edit videos too. Its personal. But if you can get someone else to 'finalize' the video for you, its not so personal, and they will see the story comes first.
But maybe you don't have a second editor, so what I would suggest for an exercise, take one of the videos you have already made and published, maybe this one, and reedit it with the goal of cutting it in half. Then post it. Then ask yourself, and your community which version they like best. Then adapt with the new feedback.
