I'm just looking at getting either a DST or Blockade Runner for my own use and you provided some very helpful information for that, but this video was full of great information for hauling in general.
As opposed to jumping directly gate to gate one could also set up a bookmark a few thousand KM off each gate and jump to that first so as to view safely any threats sitting on the gate.
Great vid the only thing may add as a follow up is using a Webber alt, either a huginn apier\ashimmu\cruor to web the freighter and get it to warp instantly, perhaps that's an advanced tactic lol but definitely something that can help get there fast keeping align time down.
This right here, I use a fleet of 1 freighter 2 webber alts and can get my freighter align time down to almost nothing, though I'm still aware of traffic patterns and potential hauler kill spots. Also as pointed out below make sure you have a good bookmark set for insta warp/dock for the systems/stations you're going to be using.
Thanks! I am keeping my contract alt anonymous. Turning it in is a 2 step process: first I contract the package to my contract alt - then after I receive the package on my contract alt I open the courier contract and Complete the contract!
They even used structure fighters in Uedama to decloak stuff. I have seen many a haulers die to gankers while i am there trying to save them, so many T1 haulers have 0 fit besides fully expanded.
Nomads are great especially for getting off the gate faster. If you are using implants for pure speed across the route, Ascendency is usually a bit faster (breakeven is about 15AU gate to gate, where if the warp is longer than 15AU then Ascendency is faster). It is of course varying depending on skills and low slot lay out, but 15 give or take 5 is where I've seen the breakover.
Thats what its for. Id just wish they added that to stations too, not because its needed but because delivering something to a character is more convenient than setting up a contract if the character is not there for a direct trade.
Like you have an instawarp bookmark for launching from stations, you should also have an instadock bookmark for the station you're arriving at. A bookmark 3km inside the docking range of the station, as sometimes when you warp to station you can arrive just outside docking range. In a slow ship like a freighter, that gives plenty of opportunity for ganking.
ok i watched half of it and sorry to say... if docking in a tradehub (docking bookmarks fix that after all) and the risk of landing on a gate in hs(besides some dedicated suicide smart bomber) is a problem... i think you should adress the reason for those issues in the video as well.
Good question. You cannot fit Damage Controls to Freighters or Jump Freighters, since they only have 1tf CPU fitting space, and a Damage Control needs 25tf.
Can you explain the contract exceptence by one toon only to contract for another toon to deliver? So the toon delivers it back to the other toon in station so he can officially deliver it? So both toons are going to the drop off station separately? Or even to trade package back to the toon. Need better method of procedure.
That's a great question. Ship+Collateral - so it heavily depends on what you will be hauling with. I wouldn't bother hauling with a T1, which means DST hauling is probably your best starting point. A decent fit DST will run 300M, and I would not haul anything more than 500M in it...so that's 300M ship plus 500M Collateral = 800M as a starting point. This doesn't account for having enough cash laying around to buy a ship replacement if you get ganked, which doesn't mean much if you don't also have enough cash to collateral as well. Build the DST for maximum tank, without regard to align time, since you will use MWD+Cloak trick coming off gates which means at most you will warp off in 10 seconds.
@@cmdrpsylim1979 Should be mentioned that depending on skills and fit you can gimp your align so hard that the mwd cloak trick gets really precise or even impossible. So align time cant be ignored completely.
You're a passive agressive little bitch aren't you? You couldn't just say "hey, I reccomend turning down ambient noise so we can hear you better!" - nah that would be too easy and kind, you just like being a little piece of shit don't you? This is why you have no friends and the ones you do talk behind your back! Also, your wife is cheating on you! Loser
The secret to running a blockade runner in hi sec is dont cloak. If you cloak it looks your hiding something, if you slowboat from gate to gate not cloaked they think your not hauling anything and leave you be.
Thats bad advice, borderline malicious. Blockade runners get shot every day just because they are blockade runners and could have good stuff. Use your cloak and for the love of god use insta dock bookmarks at your destination.
@@Thisone95 nothing malicious about it. The gankers expect you to rabbit, they expect the same fit, the implants, the same route, the same webby alt. same bookmarks. you want a long career as a hauler do the unexpected they never see it coming.... also have 5 different scout/instadock spots for every trade hub
I agree, slow boating anywhere and not cloaking in a BR is a terrible practice! Always assume suicide gankers will shoot BR's whenever they get a chance, never make it easy for them; always cloak and use insta dock and warp out book marks.

A Daredevil or Vigilant are nice for webbing. The bonus to stasis web effectiveness makes a fat freighter instawarp like an intercepter.
I like to keep two webs on my cyno ventures, because what else would you put on those mids?
Great video, but I am the tiniest bit mad we got blueballed and didn't see the contract finish!

+1 for that Contract Alt thing. It seems obvious now you say to do it.
you have to put a trade on the package, everyone can see the contracts, all the ones you have ever made :)
Use implants, nice set of Mid-grade Nomad + mid grade Nomad Omega in slot 6, BIG difference.

I thought CCP added a cargo delivery box on the citadels so you can drop it off even if they blacklist you.

instead of a third bulkhead, if you put a damage control in, would you be harder to kill ?

With freighters costing 2.5 billion right now, can you even make back the cost of the ship? It feels not worth it for the price.
Yes, but it'll take you a lot of contracts to do so.
(Smokes blunt) ive been a spqce trucker.... got my class a from NASA.
Thanks
can anyone explain to me why he has an insta undock that is still on the same grid as the station for a ship that is very unlikely to get alpha'ed?

25:00 left 3rd low slot empty?
Good catch, I would normally put an Inertial Stabilizer there but I was too distracted narrating to notice!
But you can drop things to the station without docking there, can't you?
Yes, I added that to the description. You are still screwed if the pick up is there and you are not already docked, though.
@@cmdrpsylim1979 They can put the structure into hull and the drop box will be disabled to.

That T2 cloak does not work anymore, you have to be a certain distance away from the gate before you cloak up.
