      Wow this is the only benchmark video of rtx 2080 ti in 2024 .I think I should buy 2080 ti used because it is now worth buying over 3060 ti and 3070 and having more vram.

      @@greatexpectation6456 I was very shocked myself at that fact. When I started recording this video I went to search for RTX 2080 Ti in 2024 to see what kind of games other channels were testing but I couldnt find any.
      Definitely agree that it is a better buy performance wise than a 3060 Ti and 3070, with a single caveat. The 3070 is slightly better with ray tracing, but the 11GB of VRAM on the 2080 Ti is kind of a no brainer over the other two, especially considering the 2080 Ti and 3070 perform very similarly.

      That is a very decent pairing. I used a 9700K and 3070 back in 2020 to 2022, and at the time only Cyberpunk struggled on the CPU as it had no hyperthreading. Cyberpunk fixed a lot of its issues, including CPU usage, and now runs fine. Great video, love seeing how older GPU's are doing in newer games and engines. For some reason it's really satisfying to see a 5 year old GPU still be extremely playable at great visual settings on 1440p. I wonder how current GPU's (other than the 4090) will age 5 years into the future and if they will still be really good.

      At the rate games are increasing in required specs I think only the 4080 and 4090 will age as well as this. What gives the 2080 Ti some leeway is the 11GB of VRAM. Crazy to think a 1080 Ti and 2080 Ti have more VRAM than a 3080 🤦

    I've been running 2080ti since 2019, it worked perfectly in 4k. all i had too do is turning dlss quality on in some games, but with pre 2020 games it works in 4k with no problem. It's frame rates are very similar to that of 3080, a few frames behind in 4k, and 3080 and 4070 essentially runs at the same fps in 4k, so i would say 2080ti ≈ 4070, which a bit less efficient power consumption.

    Best used GPU in the market imo from NVIDIA. Your gimping it using 300w though, I am pretty sure 90% of buyers using this will use a 380w VBIOS to get more juice out of it. 2100mhz Core Clock should be easy to achieve as long as thermals are in check with that PL. if you find one with Samsung Memory that’s like another 5-10 fps since you can push it to 8200mhz

    RTX 2080 TI is great for anything still, up to 1440P, but it certainly needs a model that has large heatsink. I haven't tried RTX 4060 TI but those should offer similar performance at 100W less power, making everything much cooler and quieter.

      I would still go for 2080ti vs 4060ti 8Gb or vs 7700XT(weak RT, and trash FSR)
      11GB of Vram is actually the perfect amount for a midrange GPU in 2024. If you are lucky to have Samsung memory you can easily OC bandwidth from 616GB/s to 704GB/s (+1000MHz)
      Reference design has 250W TDP, so only 5W more than 5y younger RX 7700 XT.
      I'm still using the MSI Gaming X Trio, 300W OC model but undervolted to 1800MHz@0.825, +1000MHz mem, 180-220W.
      This gives the same performance like stock settings, but 80-100W less power.

    Didnt Nidia now have updated drivers for all RTX cards to use DLSS 3.0 and 3.5 now? My 2080Ti still beats 4060ti and 3070 8GB in performance. Most 8GB cards are getting obsolete for anything beyond 1080p. But the 2080Ti is the sweet spot for 1440p on high DLSS in most games and even 4K and can be had in the used market for the same price as the new 8GB cards that are less performance.

    • @Mostly_Positive_Reviews
      @Mostly_Positive_Reviews  2 วันที่ผ่านมา

      The DLSS naming convention is very confusing. All RTX cards support DLSS 2.0 version 3.7, which is the latest version of DLSS upscaling. DLSS 3 refers to DLSS frame generation, and that is still only available on RTX 40 series cards. DLSS 3.5 is ray reconstruction, and that is supported on all RTX cards as well.

      Yeah, it's a tough one because we actually have no idea what the next gen of GPUs will look like when it comes to ray tracing and feature sets. I know a lot of people that were so angry because they bought a 3090 Ti for $2000 3 months before the 40 series launched, and by then you could get 3090 Ti performance in gaming with better RT and frame generation for $800. The same happened to people that bought 2080 Tis at launch for $1500, because 20 months later you could get similar performance with a 3070 for $500.
      So personally, if I were in your shoes, I'd get the 2080 Ti and see what the next gen brings. I doubt you'll lose much money, if any, if you sell the 2080 Ti again in 4 months time, but if you buy a 4070 Super new now you might regret it because its used price will probably drop by that time.

      VBIOS up to 370watt, not always there, but thats the PWR limit. Clockspeed forced to 2115Mhz at 1.0v holds steady all day 300w-340w loads. It can go as high as 2175Mhz at 1.065v-1.075v but it's just wasted power holding 340w-370wfor little gains at that point.

    At 1080p the only thing that is limiting the 2080ti is the CPU. In my example the old Ryzen 2700x is the limiting factor, as it simply cant provide the frames for the GPU to process (not even at a 4,1ghz OC, only 4-5fps gain). At 1080p the gpu usage is 55-60% 😂 its not a bad situation though, as its almost always over 100fps, and this way i can crank everything to MAX settings, and even AA on MAX with supersampling on aswell WITHOUT an fps hit. The only thing that changes is the gpu utilization is up from 55-60% to about 80-85%. So all in all this gpu is an absolute beast for an absolute high-end 1080p experience. It has such a performance headroom that its bearly breaking a sweat at 58-60c degrees after longer sessions. Plus, it also handles a decent OC, i'm running it stable at 2085Mhz at these temperatures (and +400 on the memory). Also i'm using the ROG Strix version of the 2080ti. Its a beast! I'm positive that i wont upgrade for the next few years, because i dont plan on gaming in higher resolutions, 4k gaming for example is very expensive for what it is.

    • @Mostly_Positive_Reviews
      @Mostly_Positive_Reviews  3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Yeah, I used to own a 9700K + 3070 system and it was almost always CPU bound at 1080p. The 12400F does a decent job, but it still falls short at 1080p in some games, but it doesnt feel right running a 13900K + RTX 2080 Ti for 1080p gaming 🤣
      So I agree, even though it is slightly CPU bottlenecked, it's still a great experience, and will still be viable for 1080p gaming for a while. Heavier games will just use more GPU resources, meaning the headroom will shrink as it will take something very graphically heavy for the 2080 Ti to become the bottleneck at 1080p when paired with a 2700X.
      All in all it's still a great GPU today, even for 1440p gaming, but I agree with your sentiment that it will last a while still at 1080p.

The whole system would benefit from that, the system memory would clock higher (3200mhz ram is stuck at 2833 on the 2700x (thanks memory controller 😂)) , the GPU would have additional support, plus it's still AM4 so i'm good with my old mobo. It does very well still when doing both. I didnt test streaming specifically, but I did test playing and recording using OBS and NVENC. There is a bit of performance loss doing that, around 15%, but nothing major. You'd be able to stream and play perfectly with no issues as long as you use the GPU for your encoding and not the CPU.

    I my sold my 2080ti after 4 years of use for $880 au and got a 1080ti for $100 which I installed in my old PC with i9900k, which is only a backup PC now. My new PC has 14900k, 4090 and 64 gig of quick ram and damn. I play at 4K and always get 100 plus FPS. The 2080ti was good, but not for high FPS at 4k, just saying. Yeah, even back in the day it was more a 60 fps 4K GPU, depending on the game obviously. Doom Eternal etc was running fine 120 fps at 4K without RT, but it just wasnt powerful enough to get high refresh rate gaming going at 4K. The 4090 is the only true high refresh rate 4K GPU.

      This is indeed a tough one. It would depend on the price. Get the cheaper one :)
      But on a serious note... The 3070 is slightly better when it comes to RT, and is newer, but it only has 8GB of VRAM. The 2080 Ti is older, slightly worse at RT, but has 11GB of VRAM. 8GB is getting long in the tooth, and many modern games are struggling. So if you dont care about RT (the difference is very small anyway) I would get the 2080 Ti, depending on price.

      This is an MSI Gaming X Trio model and it has very decent cooling. I recently did a repaste and it stays very cool. I have a custom fan curve, but it's more for noise than cooling. It stays at 30% fan speed until 40 degrees then it goes to 40. 50C goes to 50%, 60C goes to 60% and so forth. So this wouldve been 65% fan speed at 65C.

    Fantastic video. I'm curious if anyone has encountered a situation similar to mine. Over the last few months, I've observed that my MSI 2080 Ti Gaming X Trio crashes either immediately upon entering gameplay or within a few seconds after exiting from the menu. The only temporary solution I've found is reducing the core clock by -100MHz. While this resolves the issue for some games, others still experience crashes.

      What are your temps like? Do you have an overlay to show this?
      You can also check HWINFO64 as that will show you hotspot and memory temps as well.
      If temps are fine, I suggest take off the shroud, cleaning it a bit and putting new thermal paste on.
