I used this graphic's card for gaming between 2012 - 2015 with 4GB DDR3 (single channel) and 1TB HDD. Edited videos, live streamed, developed java based projects and hosted a Minecraft server all on the same machine.
I literally used a gt-710 as my gaming gpu from like 2018-2022. Then upgraded to a R7-350x. Which was decent. Now, I'm using a 1660 super for gaming on my primary monitor and the R7-350x for my 2 vertical monitors. Currently running quad monitors.
Competitive minor league e-sports player here, MOST (not all) of the members on our team roster are using 1080p 60hz monitors with decent GPUs, the kind of FPS that a GT710 is getting is actually insane for games it's meant to play, playing games at 60fps back when I grew up and played videogames was seen as a privilege (And I'm only 22), but back to the main point, you do not need such a high framerate for casual play, that was honestly a poor choice of words, for competitive play yes, you definitely need high fps for reduced input latency as in an e-sports setting every single millisecond counts, for example the difference between the kill time ms in CSGO and the kill time in CS2 being much higher so a good GPU is needed to compensate for poor coding, but for people just looking to have fun and play games, this GPU is fine and does it's job pretty well. My dad also has a GT720, we play Rocket league together, RTS games, and everything else that we both enjoy, yes he can't play triple A games like Elden Ring because that GPU will unalive itself, but we can still play borderlands 2 together, and honestly, that's probably more fun than any Fortnite player is having.
i grew up playing on a geforce 210 if i remember correctly, good lord the struggle to play games on that, i can atleast thank it for making me interested in computers
You have to understand that even some newer games are optimized to play on older machines because most companies want the most players on their game and understand that some players can’t afford new graphics cards counterstrike and Fortnite is known for doing this. That’s why it was very popular when it first came out. Doing these types of projects is really cool and fun for TH-cam, but doesn’t make sense doing it in real life just get yourself a 30 series GPU and you should be good
u aint wrong bro. when i was homeless i got a semi permanent room at the shelter. i managed to get a pc from cash converters for pennies on the dime. i had a i7 3770 and gtx 960. i had no internet so i had to game on 3g hotspot on a prepaied plan. was tough times back then lol.
If you're stuck with an overclock on boot, you can boot into safe mode on windows and uninstall msi afterburner. Then when you reinstall make sure msi afterburner doesn't launch when you start your PC by changing startup apps in task manager.
The fact that you use a completely unknown (to me) program for *optimizations* instead of doing the work yourself says quite a bit of your knowledge and personallity lol. Also dear god, I'm so happy I never had to deal with a card like that. Tbf I built my first rig 8y ago and by then we had the 10-series cards fortunately.
I used to have a GT710, which gave me around 60 FPS in Fortnite on the lowest possible settings. I even reached Diamond in Valorant with it, though the FPS would drop to as low as 20 when too much is happening.
A universe where this is worth 20$ is a universe where the economy is so overinflated a water bottle costs 1000$ (that would be equivalent to the gpu costing 3 cents)

Just FYI my dude, the reason that your dad's computer feels slow is not because of its 3rd gen i5. It's because he's using a mechanical hard drive. Also, that mouse absolutely does have side buttons, one on each side. It was my trusty 800 DPI mouse for a good 3 years when I was playing over summer break as a kid. The i5 3570 is decent for general tasks and older games but isn't the best CPU on the socket even for the money. The Xeon E3-1230v2 would be a decent $12 upgrade and it's essentially a i7 3770 without an iGPU

@@joogled1839 yea, but that $12 would better be spent on a cheap SSD in this scenario

My laptop with 8gb of ram, i5 processor, and a gtx 1650 is struggling for 20 fps 💀
Maby its because if youre ram.... I mean seriously most of the times it goes again on the gpu but 8 gig ram???!! When playing games, you need at least 16 fr. Some normal games cant take 8 gig ram anymore. But yeah also the rtx is """maby""" not the newest anymore. Im also getting a new pc since buying another gaming laptop with good specs costs you around 2k up to 4k. I mean like fr bro, a gaming laptop with 60 fps in shooter games like apex costs minimum 1,7k fr. Just buy a pc that has more space, better cooling, better components since laptops components cost more because you have to make em fit in such tight space.... pcs just make more sense. Only need a monitor but that shouldnt be much of a problem lets be honest here.

Would love to see this done with the gtx 960, as it still plays some games but is not quite it for the competitive scene. And yes I know you said "I will never do this again", but consider it :-) Loved the video anyway

Hmm interesting...

You have to understand that even some newer games are optimized to play on older machines because most companies want the most players on their game and understand that some players can’t afford new graphics cards counterstrike and Fortnite is known for doing this. That’s why it was very popular when it first came out. Doing these types of projects is really cool and fun for TH-cam, but doesn’t make sense doing it in real life just get yourself a 30 series GPU and you should be good
"I've never even heard of an i5-3570"
**le me cries in old man** (I built a machine with a 3570k early last decade and it feels like yesterday)
This pc of your dad is actually fast back in the days. The giant GPU in the next generation was the i7 4790k and is still OK for today.
u aint wrong bro. when i was homeless i got a semi permanent room at the shelter. i managed to get a pc from cash converters for pennies on the dime. i had a i7 3770 and gtx 960. i had no internet so i had to game on 3g hotspot on a prepaied plan. was tough times back then lol.
My eyes weept at that 100% disk usage.

Rookie, I have an i5 3550 with a gt 520 (1gb vram). It struggles displaying default windows wallpaper with no background tasks
I used to have a GT710, which gave me around 60 FPS in Fortnite on the lowest possible settings. I even reached Diamond in Valorant with it, though the FPS would drop to as low as 20 when too much is happening.
Ngl never thought i could find someone using a worse gpu than mine hd 6350 and i3 2120 but here we are

A universe where this is worth 20$ is a universe where the economy is so overinflated a water bottle costs 1000$ (that would be equivalent to the gpu costing 3 cents)

That mouse at the start is an Intelli mouse by Microsoft it is one of THE BEST mice for classic competative FPS games most notably for the king of FPS Counter Strike 1.6.
I clicked on this video because this is my current gpu! My PC has 32gb of TFORCE ram, I7 13700kf, 2tb samsung 980pro, and a GTX 710!!! I'm saving to buy a 4060 but until then I get to enjoy this experience.
Doing some research on that Microsoft mouse, you'll find that it was actually considered one of the best consumer mice ever made for early gaming over USB 2.0.
Edit: just got to the point in the video where you found the side buttons lol
