As it should be. This was a deep Aaa game chalk full of meaty content. The world, the graphics, gameplay and other aspects are solid 8’s and 9’s. And the character design of the joker is the best ive seen since keith ledger’s joker. The way they k’lled off the league especially Batman was a chef kiss.
this isn't even a game i'm into, i just like Luke's takes on games in general. he tends to point out all the things that need to be pointed out for games, because at the end of the day he cares about the content that these games produce like we all want, so always demand better of these gaming companies, never settle for less, because when we settle the worse these games end up being as actual products in the end.

Being creative means pushing boundaries, which means inevitably someone is not going to like what you made. That's not really a bad thing, those people can go find something they do like and no hard feelings... but such is life. But you can't do that anymore while working for a big corporation, they're too risk averse for that, they're the ones creating the boundaries. So all the truly talented writers have distanced themselves from the big corporations.
You can't have creativity if your walking on eggshells, being told what you can and cannot write in order not to "Offend" someone somewhere. A.I. might as well do it at that point.
Rocksteady has too good of a resume to get gutted. Warner Brothers will be keeping them around for sure. If they planned to gut the studio, it would have already happened like with Forspoken, Immortals of Aveum, etc. all happening *instantly*. And many of the people that worked on this game already have stellar CVs. They got the character designers from Last of Us, Star Wars Jedi, etc., many people who worked on the critically-acclaimed Arkham games (of course), etc. No reason to get rid of these guys, it's an incredible studio.

The animations are smooth, the textures are smooth, but it’s _so loud._ It actually hurts to watch. Seriously, _how_ did this get anywhere near playtesting, let alone past it? The story is painfully bad, the gameplay is painfully repetitive, the game looks just as painful as it is to actually play. I can’t get over how awful this whole game is on every single level, there’s zero redeeming qualities.

It was canceled once, so it feels more like a warner bros move than a rocksteady choice. However most likely Rocksteady will be blamed for not making the money milking game the execs hoped for.
My theory is that they are deliberately trying to kill it. They are under contract with WB to produce X amount of seasons for the game. But if they can kill off the remaining players enough then their hope is that WB will finally pull the plug themselves and Rocksteady won't be in breach of their contract. Im actually upset they delisted that game. It wasn’t very good but I definitely would’ve played 15-20 bucks for it, the combat loop was fun and the characters did play differently and if you enjoy those characters it’s even better. Meanwhile this trash about characters NO ONE likes is still around well after everyone shit on it and it had far far less players than avengers ever did. I guess WB just has more funding to keep garbage on the market longer

The 'we don't have the time to finish the cutscenes, so let's just turn the animatics into cutscenes' move is something you see a lot. Off the top of my head, I remember DMC: Devil May Cry doing it. It's always a pretty clear indicator of cheap DLC they had to cut corners on. Which is all season passes are, by the way, they're just DLC pre-orders.

They did Flash (main game), Green Lantern (Joker update), Superman (last update)....next will be Batman (Mr Freeze update???)....but then? They'll redo them all over again? The UI of the game never bothered me too much, it's just how bright everything is. Whenever you're in combat there are so many bright flashes that I can hardly tell what's going on while watching you play.
We actually might see more of those "cartoon" cutscenes from developers as a way of cutting costs. I'm sure that it costs way less to do those than a full blown CG cutscene.

So much potential. Like an INSANE amount of potential and they have dropped the ball massively. I was a tester, played it constantly and completed story in a few days post-release. And then I realised, that's pretty much it...This games story was so fun. All it would take is more story and cutscenes to expand this universe. Needs to be way quicker to bring out new playable characters, as there is fck all else to do. Different maps (or massively extend the map) and make it all wayyy more immersive.
I blame WB Games. Rocksteady deserved better than being handcuffed into making this atrocity. For the record and as predicted: WB Games has put the blame for their financials being so poor on this game (and by default, Rocksteady) and are doubling-down on making more live-service games in the future despite massive evidence to the contrary that fans are not looking for that. Hogwarts Legacy - a single player game with no DLC - was WB Games highest grossing title in 2023. So what’re the odds they’ll now force Avalanche to make a multiplayer/live-service Hogwarts title thus destroying all momentum that series has in the process, and turning Avalanche into the next Rocksteady… 🙄
Eh, I got it for 30 bucks, I’m at this cannon thing where you first meet with the Brainiac-ified Flash, and I’m having fun so far. Playing solo as HQ and the movement feels like Sunset Overdrive/ Infamous and I liked both games, plus the color vomit looks great on my HDR monitor.😅 Edit: I mean I got the full game for 30 bucks, not any deluxe edition. That shit ain’t worth my money.

i cant help and compare this to wuthering waves which is a FREE game and seems to have way more content already and it just launched a few days ago; also the studio actually listens to critique and doesnt just ignore every complaint that people have
Kinda funny how ppl love to bash left and right gacha games (they probably play other live service games) but this games always end up having way more content that other live services at launch. Wuthering Waves also has good gameplay and not this abomination called SSKTJL

I was actually quite sad when I found out that Sefton Hill was leaving RockSteady but I think it’s incredibly obvious why he left seeing what Warner brothers have done to the company . I can’t wait to see what his new company ‘Hundred Star Games’ makes in the future.
The 'we don't have the time to finish the cutscenes, so let's just turn the animatics into cutscenes' move is something you see a lot. Off the top of my head, I remember DMC: Devil May Cry doing it. It's always a pretty clear indicator of cheap DLC they had to cut corners on. Which is all season passes are, by the way, they're just DLC pre-orders.

The UI of the game never bothered me too much, it's just how bright everything is. Whenever you're in combat there are so many bright flashes that I can hardly tell what's going on while watching you play.

So much potential. Like an INSANE amount of potential and they have dropped the ball massively. I was a tester, played it constantly and completed story in a few days post-release. And then I realised, that's pretty much it...This games story was so fun. All it would take is more story and cutscenes to expand this universe. Needs to be way quicker to bring out new playable characters, as there is fck all else to do. Different maps (or massively extend the map) and make it all wayyy more immersive.
I blame WB Games. Rocksteady deserved better than being handcuffed into making this atrocity.
For the record and as predicted: WB Games has put the blame for their financials being so poor on this game (and by default, Rocksteady) and are doubling-down on making more live-service games in the future despite massive evidence to the contrary that fans are not looking for that.
Hogwarts Legacy - a single player game with no DLC - was WB Games highest grossing title in 2023. So what’re the odds they’ll now force Avalanche to make a multiplayer/live-service Hogwarts title thus destroying all momentum that series has in the process, and turning Avalanche into the next Rocksteady… 🙄
Eh, I got it for 30 bucks, I’m at this cannon thing where you first meet with the Brainiac-ified Flash, and I’m having fun so far. Playing solo as HQ and the movement feels like Sunset Overdrive/ Infamous and I liked both games, plus the color vomit looks great on my HDR monitor.😅
Edit: I mean I got the full game for 30 bucks, not any deluxe edition. That shit ain’t worth my money.
