Mostly gamers hate this game because the grind mechanics are boring and repetitive, the story lines are a mess, and the changes to the characters contradict decades, close to a century, of established canon. There is nothing wrong with having a diverse cast or gender swapping characters. The Fate franchise is a great example of this working, but in Fate Grand Order, the characters backgrounds and stories either fit together telling a larger story or are self contained, even when they are largely joke characters. In this Suicide Squad game, the stories contradict each other, the changes feel forced and not well thought out, and the developers seem more focused on making changing and inserting characters that fulfill some kind of forces diversity criteria INSTEAD of making the game more fun to actually play. You can't expect anyone to play a game that is not fun, especially when the creators of that game are ignoring player feedback and making changes that were not asked for, add nothing to the game, and feel forced and contrived.

As annoying as its reliance could be in Arkham Knight sometimes, there's no denying that driving the Batmobile through Gotham made you feel powerful. The Suicide Squad game, because everyone is supposed to essentially fight the same enemies in somewhat similar ways, doesn't allow for that kind of power fantasy. I could run over hordes of goons with my Bat Tank or... shoot a gun? Meh.

Deadshot had a daughter in the comics but she was not raised by him and lived in a bad neighborhood and I don't think she was even a teenager (been a while since I have read it) all he really ever did for her was ask green arrow to patrol where she lived here and there, he never was in her life because he thought she deserved better than a government hired assassin going on constant suicide missions with super criminals who regularly fights people she would look up to.

As someone else here said, they're contractually bound to keep this game going for at least 1 more year. She feels like the epitome of what I wanted to write my self inserts as when I was a teenage girl with a lot of power fantasies, and only just started out writing characters. But then I matured and realized that was an annoying, uninteresting character. Mostly gamers hate this game because the grind mechanics are boring and repetitive, the story lines are a mess, and the changes to the characters contradict decades, close to a century, of established canon. There is nothing wrong with having a diverse cast or gender swapping characters. The Fate franchise is a great example of this working, but in Fate Grand Order, the characters backgrounds and stories either fit together telling a larger story or are self contained, even when they are largely joke characters. In this Suicide Squad game, the stories contradict each other, the changes feel forced and not well thought out, and the developers seem more focused on making changing and inserting characters that fulfill some kind of forces diversity criteria INSTEAD of making the game more fun to actually play. You can't expect anyone to play a game that is not fun, especially when the creators of that game are ignoring player feedback and making changes that were not asked for, add nothing to the game, and feel forced and contrived.

it's WB so I won't be surprised, in genlock there is an episode about character self turning off, it caused quiet a bit of controversy and when the writer of that episode is questioned why the person just said "I was told that controversy is good"
The problem with that plan is that it requires people to actually be playing Suicide Squad
maybe they are botching it on purpose, in hopes the game dies faster so they can move to work on a better project they are actually passionate about.

One thing i never hear talked about is this game is RATED M. This is dialogue for iPad kids at worst, people under 17 at best. For YEARS, these companies have been blatantly pandering to children in adult oriented products and the maturity of said products has dropped along with the quality. Her movement actually looks like they could've gone the Gravity Rush route and made it very fun to play with, but instead they did the thing that Marvel did with Spiderman in the Avengers game; they took a concept that is neat, and made it shit by limiting it to a handful of very static movements you trigger

She feels like the epitome of what I wanted to write my self inserts as when I was a teenage girl with a lot of power fantasies, and only just started out writing characters. But then I matured and realized that was an annoying, uninteresting character. She's eighteen and talks like it sometimes, but then she pivots and talks circles around grown ass adults like she's so much better and more intelligent than them? Make it make sense. Having a smart young character is fine, making her so obnoxiously girl boss without flaws is where the problem is. A realistic, likeable character has flaws. But she already seems smarter than everyone and in the dialogue that i saw everyone praises her for how cool she is. It's the worst kind of storytelling.
