Good review, thank you. Seems to be an exact fit for my use case, and your reaction when applied to intended use (gaming) was quite genuine. I already have good speakers & a gas VESA arm. :)

Hey Jorge, great review! What is the best way to color calibrate the Dell 3422DWG monitor manually and/or what is the best color setting to use for the Dell monitor for daily productivity/office use? Looking forward to your response!
Im super grateful for this video, it showed the closest comparison i could find regarding my issue. Maybe you can help me further, im torn between this Dell S3422DWG and the LG 38WN95C-W (which is quite similar to your Dell ips, except it has 144hz) The Dell is a va and i would appreciate the high contrast ratio as im mainly in a dark enviroment. But the LG 38WN95C-W is a 37.5 inch and i would also really like the bigger size. How did the two monitors in this video compare in terms of contrast ratio?
Hi mate. Nice buy ! Could you check please if you have any black smearing / ghosting and if you have any occasional flickering when g-sync is turned on in game menus/loading screens? I am still deciding if I should get this one over IIyama GB3466 WQSU (also VA panel with similar specs). Besides, are you satisfied with its PIP function? Or it works in some awkward way? Thanks! I need it for both productivity and gaming.
Hi Michal, I was playing the whole weekend and I couldn't notice any flickerin when g sync, it was working surprisingly well. Probably the drivers are very well optimized for Dell Monitors because of their nvidia partnership. I think that the pip function is a nice thing to have, it works pretty good, but is not a must for my everyday, just when I am testing more devices. If you need it for productivity and for gaming, I can really recommend it to you. I am more than surprised how even HDR was working ok😂. Thanks for watching and I hope it helps you.
I have this monitor aswell. If you have the contrast a little too high, without hdr turned on i could find some black smearing. With lowering the contrast a bit (from 100 ,to 75) if was much less. Further collors are great and HDR is nice but yeah display hdr 400 not all the best but it works! You can see difference i between turning off and on. I picked it up for 470 which is an okay price compared to other models. I'm not a competitive gamer/e-sporter howell i play some warzone and in those games the monitor did not disappoint
@@Nolessonsdrumcovers HDR at least does not look *worse* when you turn it on? I have only tried HDR on HDR400 IPS monitors, where the low contrast makes HDR so bad that turning it on just makes everything washed out. I'm really curious if that's inherent to ALL HDR400 monitors, or if VA monitors with higher contrast actually make HD400 somewhat useable. Thanks!
@@TheOMGPudding in my experience it does not make things worse but I can't compare to other monitors with this. Good thing is that this monitor had 99%srgb collor gamut but also 90% dci-p3.

How do you get the whole monitor to look normal across the full screen? Everything is totally stretched out and distorted on my screen. I just want it to look clean and crisp like my laptop screen.
Hi Lakedistrictrider, definetely. Maybe not at Ultra high end settings, but it will more than fine. The mobile 3070 is one of the most powerfull mobile GPU at the moment. Thanks for watching!
All nice and good on Display Port. However if you need multiple inputs the HDMI is only 1080P or max 2650X1440 with the Smart HDR turned off. Others reported the same thing on Reddit and on the Dell support forum. I have tested 4 different laptops from Dell 7400 and 7390 to Lenovo X1 Carbon 6th GEN to APPLE 2018 Macbook pro and 4 HDMI cables. Same result. If you want 1 input from your pc with Display port yes it's great value for money. If you need multiple inputs better look somewhere else. Dell is not responding currently to this issue. All it says is to update drivers. I even uninstalled drivers from 4 laptops and a GForce 1060 6Gb and nothing.
Option 1: change display setting on monitor to Smart HDR “Game HDR” then select 3440x1440 at 24hz. This possibly works for hdmi to hdmi connection for laptops. Option 2: USB type-C from laptop to 2.0 4K HDMI cable into monitor (HDMI in port) for s3422dwg Option 3: USB type C from laptop to DP cable into s3422dwg monitor
