- We were prepared to compare Cody's STI to a lot of cars, but nothing could prepare us for what an excellent car it was in its own right. With a street-friendly powerband, neck-wrenching grip, and a modicum of practicality, the Subaru WRX STI made a fan out of both of us.

yup, rally blood runs in the veins of both evo and sti. It's like a brotherly rivalry, in the end they are still family :)
i like EVOs but im a Subie guy and if the rivalry wasnt a thing and STI and EVOs team up they could beat the rivalry of the SUPRA and SKYLINE
I think the rivalry is/was a good thing, it made both cars keep getting better and better with each generation.
Just love the older STIs. The new ones just not the same.

I'm 22 and I bought this exact same car a year ago this month and I cannot say I regret it one bit, the boost pulls, the rumble, the backfires, the sketchy drifts, all of it makes it worth while to own this beastly beautiful work of art.

Proud owner of an 07 hawkeye rally blue wrx/sti built for the quarter Mile, I'd never let it go so in love with my subie.
Subaru owners are always the coolest guys around.

Honestly, the WRX is pretty much the only car I wouldn't mod if I could. The car looks wonderful inside and out and there's nothing I would do to it. Absolutely beautiful.
i got a 05 sti 31k miles bone stock. hard to find but im keeping it like this for a long time. just change the exhaust thats the only thing

I love my 2019 STI. I used to have a EVO VIII. Both are fun cars but I find the Subaru to be more comfortable for my family and it’s a super fun car to drive.

Rick Sanchez good thing that we still get our favorite rumble maker the EJ25 in the STi models, fuck those new WRX engines tho, it's just not the same without that rumble
uberschnil the great it’s not just the engine that’s to blame for the lack of rumble though. The use of twin scroll turbos is what forces them to use an equal length header, instead of the unequal length header which is the source of the rumble. The FA20 can still rumble, you can add unequal length headers to the BRZ which has the same engine as the new WRX, just naturally aspirated.

My 2012 STI Spec R Hatch is nuts! After a tune and mods is killer.. I think it’s the best looking model IMHO bar the 22b! 🤙🏻
i have a 2001 gt forester turbo with upgrades - i took it to tasmania = no shit !!! rain, hail, and snow great and never missed a beat 220 klh and smooth as new.
i blew that motor ej205 , spun 2 rod bearings - fitted RA ej207 JDM STI short block custom heads .
The tail lights are my favorite feature of the sti

@@kiano_84 i would jump on it. You need to keep in mind insurance, maintenance cost, and the amount you have to spend. You better baby that Subaru though, too many people run them in to the ground

When the Evo was alive, both cars were so great. Sadly the Subaru decline happened after the Evo was discontinued. I could never figure out which car I loved more but there's something special about the exhaust note of the Subie
My fav gen look STI, but the Pro Drive RB320 version, this and the 98 22B /the STI Pro Drive V Ltd, they were my fav. never did like the bug eye, this is a nice ride, glad I stumbled into this vid, owned many Subys, as far back as a 76DL to now generation. imo the best, but you don't buy an Evo or a Suby STI or other performance variant from Subaru for being the best, you own it for the passion it encompasses, the history of Rally for me and the cRs themselves through each generation. this was a mint gen. cheers.

I'll be the first to admit I LOVE a good Evo ... They're more powerful than Subaru, they're more reliable than Subaru, they're more comfortable than Subaru, they're easier to work on than Subaru, they're simply a nicer car over all when compared to a Subaru .. But with all that said, there can only be one true king of the Japanese sport saloons ... and without a single doubt in my mind, I can tell you its Subaru BAYBAAAAAYYY!!!
Evo definitely more reliable than a (Non built EJ) I agree. But Evo not necessarily more powerful, all comes down to who has the better mods n tune. As an previous owner of a Evo gsr, now own a 06 STI. Evo can’t beat the Rawness and character the STi gives you when driving. Both beautiful performance machines no doubt 👍🏼

Subies are raw, less electronic assists, they can feel a bit dangerous like a wild animal that wants to kill you … and that’s exactly why they’re more exciting 😄

My first car was a 1973 Subaru GL coupe, loved it.
2nd car 1985 XT vortex (Alcyclone in the US?), turbo charged it and yes loved it.
Next was a SF Forester , such a strong car.
Now have a 2009 XT SH Forester fully optioned, an oldish car but this one i am keeping.
STI is the dream but this is now :)
just my 2 cents here, I know swapping engine / trans is a very common thing to do in the states, but where I am from its usually a taboo due to laws and such. The subbie's entire lineup all all very similar to each other I would have to agree. But how many times have you heard "No amount of money you spent on a WRX would make it an STI", just take the V9 JDM Spec C for example, out of the factory it came with reinforced strut towers, a-pillar and upper frame joints strengtened, it also used liquid filled engine mounts, in an more extreme example, try making a WRX a 22B. Sure you can match the power numbers but driving feel is really just different. If you will want an STI buy an STI. You won't regret it. And if you have an STI / Lan EVO quoted from Nakaya San "I think Lan Evo and STI don't needs to be tampered with much" leaving it close to stock is the best experience.

ive got a g37 coupe ipl and im completely in love with it, it looks amazing but this just looks amazing in a different way. two very different style but i think im going to have to buy one of these soon because i just can't get over how good looking they are

THE BEST YEAR MODEL , we own a STi and a 2.0 impreza , the STi is the only one around in the country since we ddnt have those for in dealerships, but the impreza is all over and year by year I see less number of those on the streets and like the video says its like u r pulling in a lambo

I bought my hawkeye two months ago and it's just as clean as his it was a one owner vehicle with 80,000 miles and I got rear ended yesterday June 21st
I had no idea subaru steering was "bad", my first car was a Holden barina and that was the only thing I had driven. The other day Dad let me drive the forester and the steering was literally the same but a bit heavier, which is really comfortable and smooth, probably considering the fact that the forester is like twice the weight

How much of a step up is the sti and what differentiates it from the wrx?
And how easy are they to tune, what kind of power can you expect with stock internals and with what mods?

When he said it's like seeing a Lamborghini drive by I think that's funny because just down the street from my house there is a Auto Sales place that has a Lamborghini Aventador and a Subaru WRX STI 2005 and when I go there to look at the Subaru I don't even take a glance at the Lamborghini all I can do is sit and stare at the Subaru in about it it's just amazing sadly it's $18,000 for the 2005 model so I am buying a Subaru Impreza for $2,800 that is perfectly fine nothing done to it I would like to know where I could get it tuned and get a turbo kit on it I don't know how to really do that I am new to the modification area of cars
