Oh man that intro was GLORIOUS. I can't even imagine the cross-section of buyer that wanted one of these but in Saab form but good on you if you had the foresight to pick one up. It's pretty incredible how Subaru has managed to make folks reminisce about the previous generation with each new model that comes out. I hated the hawkeye when it came out but it has aged very gracefully. Not sure if the same will ultimately be said for the VB. Great review and trip down memory lane!
Excellent review of the 07 wagon. I still have my 07 limited wagon: Protuned, VF48, Cobb DP, etc........ It is a phenomenal driving experience, the sound and performance is incredible. Thank you for reminding me how good it is.
Woke up, saw this video and wondered if i was still dreaming. Nice review! I've had my 06 wrx sedan for 15 years. 270,000km later, its never let me down. I've also got a stock 99 m roadster. My brother has a 99 sylvia s15 spec r with period correct mods and dad has a mint condition 77 datsun 280z that he bought new in 77. You're welcome to review all these cars if you find yourself in Vancouver BC. Love the retro reviews, keep them coming!
That's great to hear that yours has treated you well! And thanks for the amazing offer! I'd love to get to Vancouver someday, please send me an email if you can so that if I'm ever up that way I can send you a message!
I must say I love the throw back reviews so much. So many cars that are great on the used market but its impossible to find reviews on them in the last couple years.
Great comprehensive video! Since 2009 my daily driver has been the 2007 WRX Limited Wagon - also Urban Grey like the one you drove! Mine is 100% stock and I still love it. I hope to keep it for several more years!
Awesome review. I remember seeing this car new in showroom STi form with rally blue paint and gold BBS rims. I think it’s the best looking wrx to date.
Very nice '07 WRX, it takes me back... the tuner/track crowd back 10 years ago used to have a lot of these kicking around, Cobb accessport on the dash like this one. Up here in Canada they've all mostly suffered death by rust.
This was a great review, Matt! Thanks for doing this. I currently use a 2005 Saab 92x Linear (no turbo, auto) as a winter daily but have been considering a bug eye wrx wagon as a replacement. I was in college when those came out and they have always been something I dreamed about. I was not aware of the 2.0 > 2.5 change for the hawk eye, and this might change what year I look for. I love the bug eye look but makes sense that the final year of the 2002-2007 body style would be the best.
Felt like a throwback to 2013 SWRXF I worked for Subaru Canada and fondly remember those older keyfobs and how Subaru alarms arm themselves if the car is left unlocked with the doors closed lol
02-07 hands down my favorite Subaru years. Grateful to own the 04 and 05 wrx wagon, both have built engines. 🙂 I don’t see me every letting go of them, love them too much. I’m definitely a die hard subaru fan, only wish they made more cars as cool as these.
My goodness my car. Had a twin to this same colour and everything but an 06. Was a great car and a horrible car. Was so much fun but electrical was bad. Both headlights went out on a dark 2 lane road one night. Only car I put a motor in and body was rusty by 2011 when I got rid of it. But so much fun and many good memories. Took to Toyko Drift at the drive in two weeks after I got her. Wow just can't get over my old girl. They still look good today.
Couldn't find anything on your channel about a Toyota FJ Cruiser review. I'm looking to possibly purchase one (specifically a trail teams edition), and I would love to get your impressions of one.

The throwback intro got me!!! this was a really clean example!
I had to double check the upload date when he said "SubaruWRXFan"
I literally kept going back to the beginning to make sure thats what I heard!! 😂
😂ya me too!
Sure does go back to the good old days though. 🙂
Yes
Haha I saw the title and was hoping he'd introduce himself as that
Throwing it back to the old days! Love the return of subaruwrxfan in the beginning!
Wow, long missed SubaruWRXFan intro😁
These cars drive like 90's cars. Honest, no nonsense, no gimmicks, super practical while being decently quick and fun.

Thanks!!
I have a Saabaru and I think the Subaru's have aged better. I like the Hawkeye best. Certainly, getting body parts are much easier!
@@ivannachooYeees for parts. But I like my Saabaru front end better.

I’ve had my WRX wagon like this since 2011. 2 kids now in the back, I have no reason to sell it. Love it
lol, love the throwback to your old name.
Thanks for the review, Matt!
Thanks again for letting me drive your car Jackson!
He said the thing!

I’ve still got my 06 WRX wagon. 289,000km. Love it. Had it since 2010
Yes! Subaruwrxfan is back!!!!
I must say I love the throw back reviews so much. So many cars that are great on the used market but its impossible to find reviews on them in the last couple years.
Glad you like them! I'm hoping to do more in 2024!
Awesome!!! The old SubaruWRXFan is back!!!😀
absolute unicorn hasn't been modded into the ground
Thanks Matt... I think we all appreciate the "SubaruWRXfan" intro!!! 🎉🎉🎉
I bought my WRX brand new in 2004 and still have it. It has the tach in the middle; I believe that was the first year for that.
Great comprehensive video! Since 2009 my daily driver has been the 2007 WRX Limited Wagon - also Urban Grey like the one you drove! Mine is 100% stock and I still love it. I hope to keep it for several more years!
I think there are probably very few former WRX owners who don't miss their cars, unless yours blew up of course. That sound never gets old.
SubaruWRXFan!
Awesome throwback! What an underrated car. I miss my 03 wrx wagon to this day.
SubaruWRXfan here! I miss that intro . All we need now is the old intro music ! 🙏
Clicked on the video just to hear the old school "subaruwRxfnhere" haha
That intro was a throwback to coming home from high school and putting in the latest SubaruWRXfan vid 😂
Gotta love that subie rumble ❤️
Loved the throwback intro!
Very nice subaru, love to see you go back to your roots
Wow what a throwback! Feels like it was just yesterday I was watching your review of the black 06 STi
Oh man, this one made me smile! Awesome to see you having such a great time in an amazing car, Matt.
Thanks Sawyer!
Talk about a throw back! Amazing
Awesome review. I remember seeing this car new in showroom STi form with rally blue paint and gold BBS rims. I think it’s the best looking wrx to date.
Awesome! This video made my morning.
Glad you enjoyed it!
SubaruWRXfan lives on 🔥
I have a lifted Limited 2002 WRX wagon in the same color.
It's definitely my favorite generation of WRX
Every weeb in the midwest loves revving these and flooring them with absolutely no muffler through town at 3am...
Cry more.
This car aged so well. It doesn’t look like a 2007 at all. Looks newer.
Awesome video, SubaruWRXFan! Like old times! 😃 The intro was great and brought back lots of awesome memories! 🏁🚙
Thanks, I'm glad you liked it!
Something so satisfying about the silver center console.. dunno why every manufacturer uses piano black in current cars now
Awesome!!! The old SubaruWRXFan is back!!! Great review on a great older performance car.
Subaruwrxfan is back! Haha, awesome review Matt
Haha thanks man!
Nostalgic honesty been a subscriber since those days. Very first TH-cam reviewer I started watching since 2012-13
Thanks for the support all these years!
Love the nostalgia of subaruwrxfan intro
SubaruWRXfan! How good 😊 Bring back the STI
I appreciate the video and intro so much, what a throwback to 2013 hahaha. Keep it up Matt!!
Thanks! I'm glad you liked it!
I'll never understand why Subaru stopped building WRX hatches and wagons.
They haven't. They build a WRX wagon now. They just won't bring it here.
☝🏻 they even make a legacy/legacy GT wagon (the levorg) but we don't get it in the us 😔
@@Konformation07they have the wagon here in Aus. It’s hardly a WRX. The sedan got all the goodies and the wagon only comes with cvt
This brings back those 2013 vibes
Very nice '07 WRX, it takes me back... the tuner/track crowd back 10 years ago used to have a lot of these kicking around, Cobb accessport on the dash like this one. Up here in Canada they've all mostly suffered death by rust.
I wish that car were available today. I like the styling, size, shape; Rear window very nice as Matt pointed out.

Love the vids, would really enjoy clips of cars revving. I remember you used to do that, just rewatched your 2017 ZL1 video and the revs were amazing.

Subaru is not dead to me lol….
"you know" counter has reached 11 million.
If you know you know
Hawkeye gang! 😎
😎
@@ThatWasherNerd If this example was at a c&c I attended, I'd spend minimum 15 min hanging out there. Big thumbs up man.

Long missed review on the late 2000s Subaru sedan

WHATS YOUR FAV KSWAP & KSWAP CHASSIS?¿
I’m not sure I can pick a favorite honestly haha so many good choices.
Throwback intro!
This was a fantastic video 12/10 🎉 Do more modified cars.
Glad you liked it! I'm hoping to do more in 2024!
Superducksfan returns!!!!
He lives once again... (For this one anyway)
I love it! Almost the clone of my old WRX.
Nice!
So, if you have a E85 tune , could we say it's got a Corn on the Cobb ? 😂
With all of my time in the Subaru community, that is somehow the first time I've heard that phrase lol.
@ThatWasherNerd just popped in my head
Had to re-watch the intro and double check the upload date lol..
Hi Matt. Which park did you film at ?
This one’s Ohio Township.
Couldn't find anything on your channel about a Toyota FJ Cruiser review. I'm looking to possibly purchase one (specifically a trail teams edition), and I would love to get your impressions of one.
I drove them a long time ago but never had a chance to review one. I’d still love to review one so if I get an opportunity I’ll be sure to take it.
Full circle
Is this the invidia N1 race or street version?
🔥🔥🔥
This car is so hot. If you ever think of selling it let me know.
What is the name of your watch on your wrist
It's an Apple Watch.
4 piston rotors...???
thanks
Subaruwrxfan!
Back when Subaru actually painted their cars
Makes me wish I still had my 2006 wrx limited. Even had the same wheels. Stupid deer 😢
“SoobruDubyaAreExFan”
Super Sexy Subaru! ❤
🙂👍
- "Thanks for the clean wrx for the review"
and my eyes only shows the rust.
But overall -- it's ok for subaru
really stupid comment
It's a 16 year old rust belt car. What do you expect?
Wow. Matt is really starting to show his age here. He looks 45.
45?? Damn, I hope I look like that at 45.
say double-U-R-X....you are not that cool
👎
"very clean" *shows rust* 🥴. Sorry but I have to flex, mine is less than 40'000 km 🫡
