REALLY be mindful of your lifestyle choices (do you drink a lot of bubbly water? Do you chew your food well? Are you sensitive to any foods you eat?) because it could very likely be something you aren't considering that's causing you pain. @carolscobie1673 honestly It's beyond my scope to answer that. Not sure if you have a doctor you can work with but you might have to do a bit more of your own research on that. I hope you find relief soon!
23 yo here, was diagnosed with gerd due to a relaxed les (diagnosed via gastroscopy and biopsy) 5 days ago. I have always followed an active and healthy lifestyle so, this diagnosis came as a shock. I went to see my gp yesterday to share the results with him. He is convinced that my gerd is caused by my severe untreated anxiety and my coffee habit. Anxiety creates a lot of acid in the body and caffeine relaxes the les.. We arranged for me to see a psychiatrist and get to the bottom of my anxiety. I have to follow the gerd restrictions for the time being. Its been hard, the anxiety gave me a massive fear of food resulting in mostly having a liquid diet. It's overwhelming, Depressing and very scary to have to deal with gerd. But, videos like this gives me hope that I will one-day be able to live a somewhat normal life again... And perhaps have my beloved coffee again.
It's frustrating isn't it? Ugh I know. And yes anxiety is debilitating in so many ways... it shows up in places you would never expect either. Not sure if you watched my newer video on the subject but it might offer more tips for you. Also, I reviewed the Untethered Soul on my channel which is a book that helped change my life... you. might want to check it out.
Hi, after 3 years of reflux trying all kind of medicine and for too much acid and for to little acid, finally went on a carnivore diet and 2 months now in it I forgot everything about reflux!!
@@ciaogali that's wonderful. I have noticed meat does not give me symptoms and have actually increased my meat intake due to this observation. I'm curious, are you able to drink coffee?
Note to anyone who has burning in their throat or esophagus when they take the apple cider vinegar: You can buy ACV capsules and take them instead. That way, you get the increased acid in your stomach without it burning on the way down. (Also prevents acid on your teeth.) Once your LES starts closing tighter, your throat and esophagus should heal.
Thanks for sharing that! Good idea for sure. I also have some Betaine/HCL pills on my shelves I use nowadays when/if I need it since I don't do the vinegar anymore... don't need it! Feeling good :)
Thanks for thinking of all the People who has Esophagus and avoid liquid ACV and mentioned Capsules. I have Erosion Esophagus; I would NEVER take liquid ACV.
@@bobkatc9368 R u having it after or before. Try to have it before but the key would be to eat less. If after meal....then make sure u take ACV pill in a good while...if after dinner then give it atleast an hour or two...this will need a lifestyle change in terms of what time u eat n go to sleep
@3rdworldgwaming467 I was taking it during the meal to mix it in. I went on nexium for now, but want to try it again. I did it for 14 days in a row and it wasn't getting better. Hence the ppi.
I wish I could give you a thousand thumbs up! Thank you so much for what you are sharing here. You ended a nightmare for me. And not only do you present worthwhile information - on top of it you do it in such an entertaining way! It is a pure pleasure to listen to you. You raise me up! Thank you!
Wow what a great comment to read, thank you for taking the time to say that. You made my day! Life has so much beauty in it but sometimes it's hard to see when we have annoying ailments distracting us. Comments like yours motivate me to keep going so thank you. You raise ME up.
Here the thing. I can't up the acid content in my stomach because my stomach walls are slightly damaged, so upping acid hurts my stomach. I should I heal the lining first. Any ideas?
@@AJ88874 yes but looking back it was worthless because it’s not scientifically proven to be accurate. I’m all healed now. Acid Watcher Diet and celery juice were the main things that helped me. I had LPR and apple cider vinegar was a huge no no. Overtime it only made things worse for me. The baking soda spray did give me a lot of relief and the creator of this video has a how to video on that. That was great.
@@caramelcookie1765 it's weird coz the creator of this video posted both the video on baking soday spray as well as this video here on heartburn, 4 days separated from one another. And so, they seem to be doing BOTH at the same time? Vinegar, as well as Baking Soday? Also, maybe vinegar isn't bad even if you have LPR. coz at the end of the day, the heartburns come from down there, and u gotta build up acidity again. You just gotta make sure that it doesn't kill ur throat on the process of going to to ur guts. which is where i guess the baking soda helps. So maybe a bit of both? Vinegar, a lot, and baking soda, just the spray
@@AnotherproblemOn these things help you get by. But for me, Acid Watcher diet was the cure I was praying for. I’m still doing it on and off. And, I’m able to eat normal foods without a problem. All the kinds of foods that used to be problematic for me, I’m able to eat now. Technically I still avoid these foods but when I’m out of town or not at home, the I allow myself to indulge. I no longer see myself as a sick person. My mom had regular GERD for almost a decade and she got Stretta procedure and can eat pretty normal again too.
I’m so grateful for this video! I’ve been very discouraged recently as I’m a singer dealing with silent reflux. I’m very excited to start this journey to healing my body and my throat. Thank you!!!
I'm so glad you found it. I am excited for you, you will get your body and energy back! It takes a little while to recover as you've done some damage... but the body is resilient and truly incredible! Thanks for watching :) And do you have any more recent videos or what!?!?
Thank you for this!! I've always loathed the idea of drinking ACV, but after watching this and several other vids about stomach acid levels, I became excited and started drinking a concoction I found with ACV that's drank during intermittent fasting. It's been only one week and I've stopped snoring, I have higher energy, and my gut is singing it's so happy. I've already shared this vid with 5 other friends/family members.
Loved reading this! Having that hope again makes life just so much more enjoyable. I know what it's like to get in a rut, to fear a life with constant pain... it sounds like you are on your path to having joy again. All the best to you and yours. Thanks for watching and the support :) 👊
I haven’t been diagnosed with GERD yet but have an ent appointment in a few days. I’ve had bad heartburn, trouble swallowing, uncomfortable swallowing, tight throat and chest, coughing, gagging, post nasal drip, shortness of breath, back/neck/shoulder pain, throat pain, lump in throat feeling, dry mouth, and recently I swallowed weird or something and got a laryngospasm (I think) and it was the most terrifying experience of my life. It sent me into a bad panic attack. Knowing all this can be connected to reflux (especially the spasms that cause you to not be able to really breathe) is scary. I want to heal. I have awful anxiety, but it hasn’t been this bad until I had that spasm. I’m so freaked out by that and my throat seems to be getting worse. I’ve been on pepcid and gaviscon, avoiding spicy food (and coffee or soda), eating smaller meals, not eating right before bed, sleeping more elevated and on my left side, and taking anti-anxiety meds for a few days now but symptoms seem to be worsening and I’m so worried I’ll have another spasm because my throat still feels weird. Every swallow I’ve had to think about since then. It’s caused me to be scared to eat, drink, swallow my own saliva, sleep, and breathe normally. Thanks for this video. I need to heal from this to have my life back under control. I hope it’s fixable and that I won’t ever have a laryngospasm again. Anxiety and reflux are awful I’m only 18 and I don’t want to rest of my life to be spent feeling like this.
It's a one-two punch when it comes to anxiety and GERD... when it gets to where you are at it's tough to tell which one is doing the most damage. So, you're going to have to work on both. There's a good chance something in your diet is causing you symptoms. If you haven't tracked your food yet I recommend you start, at least for a few days. Maybe you'll notice your symptoms get worse after you eat gluten, or dairy... then you'll know what to eliminate. Also, working on your brain will help not just your anxiety now but for the rest of your life. Michael Singers book really launched me down a path that helped me heal. I even reviewed his book on this channel (The Untethered Soul Review) which might help you. If not that I encourage you to find something that makes sense to you and practice it. Be sure to watch my newer video on the topic if you haven't already (in the pinned comment).
That spasm very well could be vocal cord disfunction from all the irritation. I have it, biggest sign was coughing, and followed exercises from TH-cam to calm the spasms
Been dealing with Gerds for 3 years on PPIS. Have seen several doctors and none of them know a proper way to treat my symtoms and an ECG didnt show any results. Mine are different than just heartburn tho. I get cramps and sharp pains in my chest and abdomen, with indigestion. I fully believe theres something wrong with my stomach acid rather than my esophageal sphincter. Ima try the burp test tomorrow and see what happens.
Glad you found the video. I did a recent video on the subject which i highly recommend you watch in case you haven't yet. I'm on mobile so I can't link it but it's only a couple videos back. Let us know how it goes!
Ever since I went Keto (low-carb) 2 years ago acid reflux is gone. Also, I never eat after supper, around 6:30 pm and don't eat before 6 am the next morning, It helped me lose 45 pounds too!
That is incredible! I wanted to talk more about diet because I too had success with Keto (for both weight loss and heartburn) but didn't want this video to be too long. You've managed to stay on it for the most part for the entire 2 years? Have you noticed any other benefits as well, either with your energy or mood?
@@hoaxbusterhodler9676 false! Excess carbs is responsible for most, if not all, so-called civilization diseases like type 2 diabetes and a host of others. Going keto or low carb is a healthy choice for anyone who wants to stay healthy for as long as possible.
Thanku so much for answering! I have foods that bother me all sorted out thru the past 30 yrs! So that part is done.Gastroenterologists are just STUCK in their too much acid way of thinking I dont even bother talking to mine anymore. In case any one else has this ,I discovered that if i had that horrible pain in the valve area ,with nausea and burning i tried CUPPING ,basically suction!! Going in a downward motion. Also if i cant get relief from that i resort to a teeny dose of any med like xanax or a muscle relaxer. This ALWAYS works . I realized that my valve SHUTS! And I think part of it is the diaphragm being tight. When the meds relax it , food and acid retreat and relief is at hand!!My dr LAUGHED at me when i told him this.I wish they could hear us. We are the ones suffering and we know what helps!!Great job watching ur videos and talking to u!!! Thx el
Oh my god.. this video is my life.. You just said my heartburn story here. This is highly relatable. After 2 years on ppi im switching to ACV for the last 2 days . I can feel my heartburn slowly decreasing (not completely).. After starting drinking acv there was no severe heartburn episodes. Hope it will get better . I'm only 27 and i was really disturbed of my heartburn and having to take ppi continuously. Along with acv im practicing diaphragmatic breathing.
Well that's awesome that you are being proactive and trying to fix it. It's a frustrating road to say the least... and healing takes time. But it sounds like you got this! And yes for me, practicing mindfulness and working on calming my mind has been extremely helpful in recovering. Stress does a lot of damage too.
@@shvansalih no serious heartburn episodes so far.. ACV is100% effective in my case.. and i had no irritation in my throat while taking acv .. its been 2 months since I started acv .after 1 month i reduced my dosage to once in a day.. Ps: taking acv can reduce heartburn but this does not imply you can eat whatever you want. So its better to keep a healthy diet..
Thanks for your pearls of wisdom. My reflux started straight after gallbladder removal. Since then have been sleeping upright, still get the heartburn though. Its very demoralising and scary because we all know that chronic heartburn can lead to eosophageal cancer😢
Glad you found the video! And yeah, I know... I still battle with it myself but it's mostly lifestyle induced. Too much coffee / alcohol for me. When I eat less, chew thoroughly, practice stress management, and cut down on the bubbly drinks / alcohol my quality of life just goes through the roof. I actually am working on a follow up video right now so stay tuned for that. I'll share my main fix that always works to get me back on track.
This coincide with what Doctor Berg (the knowledge doctor) talks about. He also talks about how to get rid of lump in the throat if anyone ever gets one. ACV has tons of health benefits. I was using aloe to combat LPR and it only lasts about 2-3 hours. I went and pick up a Bragg apple cider vinegar and drank 1 Tablespoon + 8 oz water and its been 5-6 hours and symptoms still not happening. It is amazing. People who have LPR symptoms needs to stop their PPI and start doing this tbh. PPI is not doing anything for them but making things worse.
There are a lot of us who have had success with some home remedies thankfully. At the very least it's worth trying right? Appreciate your message and so glad you've found relief also.
You will recover my friend! I am going to do a follow up video on this in the next couple weeks so please stay tuned for it! Follow the advice in the video and you will be on the right path.
When I did the burp test It was a very long time waiting on that burp. One way to help your body get better at producing stomach acid is to add bitter items to your diet. About 30 minutes before your meal chew on a couple of mouthfuls of parsley, have some unsweetened cranberry juice, or a little arugula, or other very bitter items. Just to be clear, you are going for BITTER not SOUR. These are not the same thing. At anyrate, the bitter flavors get the gastric juices flowing. A word on Apple cider vinegar, it is an excellent tool in one's arsenal but if you take too much on a regular basis you can deplete your potassium levels. So, just be aware of that minor detail. Thanks for this video, You really explained everything really well.
Those are great points! Thanks for chiming in. I've done a lot of recent videos on things to that relieve stress which I think is also a HUGE factor. Like you mentioned in one of your other comments, if you ask a doctor if you can cure things through diet they will laugh and say no... I don't agree with them either. In fact I know some doctors and they are NOT healthy people. Smart people in their own ways, don't get me wrong, but when it comes to nutrition and exercise a lot of them have no clue. Really appreciate you taking the time to share this! Very interesting.
@@TheSAHDLife Thanks! I have been on a 14 year stretch of gastric misery. I have Roemheld Syndrome, AKA Gastric-Cardia. My heart rate and blood pressure will go through the roof after I eat or when my stomach starts tossing acid up the old gullet. I only recently found that low acid may be the issue because doctors say it's all in my head. SMH... Go figure. Channels like your have helped me a LOT. So keep it coming. You just never know who you may help!
And you can mess with your teeth and believe me, you don't want to do that , only thing would fix your teeth , if they are messed up , called *Having Veneers over your old teeth, which cost $50,000 or more . Your teeth can look like they are transparent . Stay safe !! My daughter is an Dentist, and she spoke what ACV can do to the teeth.
@@debbiec6216 Yes. It will erode the teeth if the mouth is not rinsed well after. Brushing after acidic items is not advised until after a good rinse. I have been using ACV for years. I have zero cavities or tooth erosion. Thanks for the good advice!
If nothing else works, try eating red apple delicious or Fuji apple for a few days. One apple a day. My wife and I used those 2 apples to cure our acid reflux problems. It worked for us and the problem never came back.

Oh good, I'm glad you agree. It's crazy how a lot of us maybe have lifestyle choices we got away with when we were young but as we keep them up with age our bodies are like NOPE! You can't do that anymore! There are LOTS of reasons why people have Gerd but a lot of times it's because of the simple things that seem obvious from the outside perspective.
@@TheSAHDLife i’ve had had four endoscopies and many other tests, similar like you, and they can never find what’s wrong with my constant esophageal, burning and throat burning. Thank you for sharing this video. I have been suffereing from silent reflux for about a year and after watching ur video I finally found relief. Sleeping on your left side will help keep stomach contents in your stomach since the stomach is on your left side. And elevate your head by a few inches. I use a wedge pillow under my regular pillow.
Hey nice share! That's great. They always say not to eat close to bed and that was always tough for me because eating close to bed always helped me fall asleep... but then I'd feel like crap the next day and never knew why! Oof.
I was told by the gastroenterologists that even diluting the ACV would still cause irritation of the esophagus and stomach and was noted on a stool when my reflux was really bad.
Yeah you know, I have a newer video in which I don't recommend ACV anymore but I was so desperate to fix this I tried it and it helped me on my path to healing. Some people need a quick fix and that was it for me... but it's the rest of it... the other tips that lead to healing in the long term.
Yeah, I can’t have any acidic things right now as it immediately makes my symptoms worse. I’ve had this problem for 20+ years. The only thing that helps is taking omeprazole and staying away from coffee and anything acidic. But I will try the baking soda test until I can afford to get my endoscopy done ✅
Well if you are on a PPI the baking soda test will not work. You'd have to ween off it to get a real idea of how much acid is in your stomach. I had to ween off them when I started adding acid and while it was difficult to come off them, it was worth it. I'm back to normal now thankfully. You gotta do what makes sense to you.
Olive oil on empty stomach worked for my mild esophagus symptoms. Suffered from coughing after breakfast and lunch for months. Started taking in olive oil on an empty stomach first thing in the morning . Miracle happened. Please try, guys.
Hello i tried this test todas as i was really suspicious that i have low stomach acid cause high stomach acid just doesn’t make sence to me so the doctor prescribed the ppis along with some other medecine to help digestion after taking for 3 days i noticed a bad allergy so i stoped and i took as i sign that maybe i should rethink taking the medicine. When i found your video i have hope again for healing . And i have my digestive enzymes and betaine hcl already ready for me to take , just gotta make sure i have low stomach acid What do u think about me burping at the 4:30 min ? Also when i tried your baking soda spray i felt a bitter taste in my mouth the whole night its like all the acidity was gone idk if its because i put too much of it in a small amount of water but maybe that too would indicate i have low stomach acid? Thank you so much for videos they really really informative and give so much hope
It's hard to tell without knowing a lot more about your lifestyle. I'm not sure if you watched my newer video in the pinned comment but make sure you watch that if you haven't already it might answer a lot of your questions. I think you just have to try it and see what works for you. Either way I think chewing your food more thoroughly eating smaller portions and not eating close to bed is a great start. Trying betin for a few days is a pretty low risk way to see you what happens and you should know within a week or so if it's working.
I ate antacids for 35 years. Finally I started having difficulty swallowing food.I watched some "Dr. Berg" videos on not enough acid and learned I needed salt to make stomach acid.I have not needed antacids for over 3 years. Also no food within 2 1/2 -3hrs.of bedtime!

Hello everyone i have suffered many years. I used to try my best several years ago but then once got better i started eating unhealthy and drinking alcohol ect. I remembered a TH-cam video of a acupuncturist where he explained that drinking a bunch of lemongrass tea and doing 100s of deep breaths with stomach in and out would do the trick to help the sphincter. I remembered it work i will try it again but I can no longer find that video. And i saw a video about a exercise to strengthen the sphincter by laying down. Doing a deep breath . Then move your head up / look at your toes whilst holding breath then release breath sinking stomach in. I will search for that video again too. I am appreciative to find this page because i am going to start taking care of my health again/ back on the wagon after about 6 years of a life of debauchery
Welcome back to the health train my friend, let's take care of our bodies together! I too have gone back to some of my old ways of drinking too much and not eating right. It feels like crap. Honestly, while I think those things you mentioned are great, I think one of the biggest tools to help is learning how to properly take care of our minds. I think our brain is the greatest healing tool of all and once we learn how to properly deal with stress and negative thoughts the healing becomes a lot faster. Have you ever gone down the path of learning more mindfulness etc? I'm always curious.
@TheSAHDLife can you help me with some insight to get a better idea of learning how to do it? I have tried the Japanese method of Jindhin Jyutsu but maybe that is not the same?

And once I am healed and feel confident, I will be helping those who's starting out looking for the answer too. I totally understand, everybody needs to talk to their doctors too. I had doctors who didn't give me any advice. They didn't say , oh you have to change your diet , not to drink soda, what time you need to stop eating food , etccc. I learn much of it from People on TH-cam, and facebook , and many others. I don't wish this on anyone. I am no expert that's for sure, but I'm learning just like anybody else on here.
Hi Debbie, thanks for watching. Well hopefully you got some ideas from the videos... I think the first step is doing the burp test and figuring out if you actually have high or low acid. It might not be the most scientific test but it the results will get you thinking... and more important they will help you evaluate (or reevalute) your diet. Say you do in fact have high acid and burp right away... you start really looking at what you are eating and reduce the acid in your diet, simple as that. The other most important factors I think are meal sizes and eating too close to bed. I bet the majority of GERD cases are just poor diets / too much food ate once / + too much carbonation. If it's low acid then supplementing acid in with HCL/Betaine pills are great place to start, and if your body allows it or your desperate to try something asap, you can use ACV. The damage takes some time to heal but day by day things will start to improve. Alternately I think a lot of people have food sensitivities they don't even realize (such as gluten or dairy intolerance) so the next step would be an elimination diet. Beyond that I wouldn't overcomplicate things for now. You know all the other basic stuff (elevate your head while sleeping etc). Good luck and I hope this helps!
The betaine hcl pills really helped me. But if you don't think you have low acid then starting with your diet is the first place I'd start. @@debbiec6216

It's an indication that you might. You should use that information as well as your symptoms to help figure out what is happening with you. You will need to look at your diet and lifestyle choices to discover what is going on. Unfortunately the only person who knows that is you. I wish I could give you the exact answer but I can only try and help you find the way.
You might just saved me… been having lpr for 2 years now, started when I had a sh*t ton of stress, but had corona parallel, so just ignored it. Due too my symptoms, problems breathing etc the doctors thought I had asthma. Since having my doctors appointment and after multiple test, they found out my lung is in super good shape. Been doing aerobic cardio for years now. But he still said I had asthma what didn’t make any sense. So I went the other Route with the reflux. My doctor kept giving me ppi but it hasn’t changed anything. I will do the burp test tomorrow to find out wether or not I have low acid and if yes, I’m certain you fixed all of my problems and made me breath properly again and enjoy life again💪🏽 god bless!
So glad you found the video! I actually made a more recent video on the subject which I highly recommend you check out if you haven't. It's only a couple videos back on my channel (I'm on mobile otherwise I'd link it). It's a frustrating road I know but having some hope with a game-plan that makes sense is just so uplifting! You will feel better. Let us know how it goes with the burp test and let's get you enjoying life again.
How's it been going? I made a more recent video on this where I talk about taking Betaine instead of ACV. ACV still really helped me but if you get the chance to check out that video I recommend it. I like the newer approach better for my lifestyle. It's a couple vids back. I can't link it on mobile :( @@tobiasmack673
Been going pretty good but my asthma like symptoms still haven’t gone yet, but it’s only been a few days and I‘ve been sick so yeah. Still have some reflux here and there, but it feels as if it’s been getting better. But my stomach has been different than usual lol. Not particularly bad, just different than usual. And I’ve been checking your videos out so I also so your newest one. I’ll try ACV until Feb 1st and if it’s not gotten any better als Try the Betain HCI pils Thanks for replying!
Thanks for the update! Keep an eye on what you eat as well... I sometimes get asthma and find gluten and sometimes dairy makes it worse. Just planting that seed in case you've never considered your diet. @@tobiasmack673
That makes a lot of sense. I’m going to try that baking soda test tomorrow morning. I went ahead and bought all the stuff needed for the bicarbonate spray with alkaline water.
Glad you found the video! Not sure if you saw my newer one on the topic. Let us know how it goes for you! It gets exciting once you start to feel normal again lol.
@@TheSAHDLife yeah, I saw all of your GERD videos and made the alkaline water/baking soda spray yesterday. I used it nasally last night before bed and woke up with the smallest amount of mucus I have in a loooong time. I really appreciate your videos. I’m not a father myself, but I’ll sub for your health/fitness videos!
@@mrtexican8302 Glad to hear it! I mostly do product reviews and wellness vids these days... I'm on a bit of a tech kick right now since I'm switching to Apple but I always jump around. Will do something soon about wellness, I have a few great vids coming up in the near future. Glad to have you in the subs and nice to chat!
I am so happy that TH-cam put this video in my path to watch. Lately I’ve been clearing my throat like crazy and coughing. Barely can sleep at night time. I doubt that will even need to do the burp test. My sinuses was also affected. Stuffy ears and post nasal drip. I’ve lost my sense of smell due to this. Probably from blowing my nose so much. Thanks for your videos. Well put together.
Thanks for watching! Glad you found the video. Not sure if you caught my latest one on the subject but it goes the deepest in and outlines my step-by-step plan for fixing it. It should be easy to find in the description or just on my channel. Keep us posted with how things for for you, hopefully you find relief very soon!
I don't know much about GERD but since two year's i am on omeperozole daily before breakfast and my problem is headache dizziness And dry metallic mouth
Yeah the PPI's didn't make me feel great so I really wanted to get to a life without them. I weened off which was hard and reintroduced acid and luckily for me it worked. I feel great now after years of symptoms. I have numerous videos on the subject so if you want to learn more check out my channel.
I love both your videos. I'm doing the ACV and was glad to hear it may take a month or more to restore acidity to my stomach. It's been a painful process going off the PPI's. That should tell me something. I'm on my 10th day and I still have pretty bad heartburn, but I'm going to stick it out for 3 weeks like you suggested. Thanks for the lively and important videos you posted. I'm keeping my fingers crossed. Sam
Hey Sam! Thanks for the great comment. I gotta ask, did you do the burp test now that you've been off the PPI's? I think it's always prudent to make sure you know what problem you have before you start treating it. I am working on a follow up video right now on this topic so I should have it up later in the week. Stay tuned for that one if you can!
Thanks for the video, great advice. I get intense heartburn from exercise like walking up a slight incline. Anyone got any advice what it might be or how to treat it? Thanks
I have a newer video in the pinned comments with a game-plan at the end. It's not uncommon for symptoms to exacerbate when you exercise... it's a slow process to heal but you will as long as you avoid your triggers. Watch that video then let me know if you have any questions.
I don’t understand why acidic foods are to be avoided because they make reflux worse and then the answer is to add a load of acid to your stomach manually?…. Can anyone explain this pls?
I recommend avoiding trigger foods but that doesn't necessarily mean acidic ones. I think it's up to you to recognize which foods bring out symptoms and which ones don't. I think the thing is, when your esophagus is inflamed from GERD, it's highly sensitive which is why some foods feel like they do a lot of damage during that time. Once the inflammation goes away those foods go down just fine. I've been able to eat everything again now that I've fixed my stomach. I have a newer vide on the subject on my channel if you are curious.... it's just a couple vids back.
I’m starting the Apple cider vinegar now, so far so good, but still got the symptoms so far, and slowly slowly coming off my PPIs…. I also find with my reflux it’s connected to my nose - the excess mucus in back of my throat! I have pain in between my shoulders and tight throat. Praying this works!
I have a newer video on the subject which you should really watch. Unfortunately while you're still on the PPI this isnt really going to help as the ppis will negate what you're doing.
Oh I'm so glad. Thanks for watching. Relief feels amazing and we can all get there, sometimes we just need a little help figuring out what the heck is going on!
It’s amazing. I did this test 6 days approximately the same time in the morning. From 6:30 to 22 minutes everything was there. I guess this could be the reason why antacids and acid blockers don’t work for me. And I read gaviscon should build up a coating foam to save from regurgitation but that only works in an acidic environment. So maybe explaining didn’t help me at all for regurgitation. Did you already make the beetroot Test? Strangely, this was negative… so I am confused and don’t know what to believe 🤷🏻♀️
I have not tried the beetroot test. I'm not super familiar with it and luckily the baking soda test gave me enough of a starting point I was able to fix my problem. I know you have tried a lot of things already... I can't remember if you tried the hcl/betaine route yet?
@@TheSAHDLife not yet, I'm a bit anxious as I've only just recovered from long-term gastritis. I've tried bitter substances, but that's not the same as HCL, as it also stimulates bile acids and that's counterproductive since I already have bilious reflux. How long did it take for you to get relief after drinking vinegar, immediately or did it take several days?
@@emilyerdbeere9210 it took a few days if I recall. It's a slow process but sure is nice once you start feeling relief. Hopefully that happens soon for you!
If nothing else works for acid reflux, try eating red apple delicious or Fuji apple for a few days. My wife and I used those apples to get rid of acid reflux. The problem never came back.
due to medication i drink a lot of water. around 3liters per day. do you think drinking too much water can neutralize the PH in the stomach which leads to acid reflux? I've had this so many months without knowing why. But it makes a lot of sense to me.
It's a very interesting thought and something to think on... you could be on to something. I can't give a medical opinion as it is not within my scope but could be something you want to experiment with. For me when I need to hydrate I often add salt/electrolytes to water... perhaps that could be something you could test so you don't need as much volume. But listen to your docs of course. I hope the video gave you things to think on and let me know if you want to brainstorm anything else.
There’s a book by Dr. Jamie Kaufman called Dropping Acid: The Reflux Diet Cookbook and Cure. She says: “Some people, for example, say that drinking acidic apple vinegar is good for reflux because it causes the lower esophageal sphincter to tighten up. Unfortunately, this does not appear to be effective, and we believe that it is particularly counterproductive for patients with throat reflux (silent reflux).” It’s hard to know what to do when there’s conflicting information. It’s a good book, though, if you haven’t seen it.
Thanks for the share. I think the most important part is that at least this starts people on their Journey towards healing. You hear that a lot but then when you look at all the people that have success from the result of ACV it is definitely confusing as to what actually works... The video I mentioned that there's a simple test you can do to even see whether or not you have high or low acid reflux because I think a lot of people might have low reflux. Anyway, I do my best to let people know that I'm not a doctor... I think these are relatively low risk treatments to try at home and I've received hundreds of comments with people having success with a lot of the things mentioned in the video. I think stress is a big one of them as well, and if people think that there's hope that helps them a lot. And luckily for me I was able to recover fully!
@@TheSAHDLife I did love your video, and didn’t mean to come across as negative about it! Just the one thing about ACV stood out to me since I am currently reading Dr. Kaufman’s book, and had JUST read what she said about it. But anyway, I’m excited to try the baking soda nasal spray! Thanks for the video…I feel like maybe there’s hope now? I’ve had this constant throat clearing thing for years, with no good solution from doctors. Gonna try the burp test, too. ¨̮
Oh no you didn't at all! I love and appreciate the fact you took time to share what you learned with me. We are all in this together. Let me know how things go for you!
ACV jacked me up even more . It burned my throat where it was hard to talk . Gave me worse chest pain like having a heart attack . Was tested acid levels are normal but i believe I have LPR ( no heartburn etc..)and I havent been properly diagnosed . Done a bunch of natural remedies and took PPI right of the bat only one pill and it gave me severe abdominal pain . I heard chiropractic can help and Im looking towards that direction cause nothing helps .
Oof that sounds frustrating. Yeah it sounds like something has been irritating your esophagus. I don't get the burning from vinegar but I feel mine is sensitive also. Do you drink a lot of carbonated things or large portions of food? I'm just curious. Have you done a food elimination diet? It's a difficult journey but hang in there.
@@TheSAHDLife No , I dont drink carbonated drinks and a moderate amount of food . I dont seem to have problems when eating n sleeping like most describe . Its pain in the throat and abdominal area. I have done food elimination , they thought i was allergic to 4 foods but still had the throat pain on n off whether i ate those foods or not . Its been 2 years and feel Im stuck , like this seems normal to me now . Insane !
I have barrets and am nervous to go off ppis but also nervous in them. Have raised bed, lost wt, changed diet big time. Throat is better but the minimal off food and done for 2 to 3days
I know... coming off PPI's was terrifying for me too. I did it and added acid quite fast but luckily it worked for me and I haven't looked back. I did a newer video which I linked in the pinned comments.. perhaps check that one out when you have a moment as it offers my most update to date tips.
@@TheSAHDLife did the baking soda this morning, felt gross right away then few seconds small but 3 burps right after. So yes acid and I think its my flap not working.
I discovered using a combination of Mastic Gum (Resin not tree bark) and Pepzin G1 helped to heal my GERD or stomach ulcers. The mastic gum eliminates any H.Pylori infection, and the Pepzin G1 helps to increase a healthy stomach lining and stomach environment. But as you said, it will take time. A month or even months, depending on each case.
I am not to familiar with those, thanks for sharing! Have you been able to manage your symptoms? Do you have any particular triggers? I appreciate you pointing out the time ...I think people are so desperate to handle symptoms once they feel slightly better they don't stay on track of fixing the big problem.
I watched your review on the MX Master 3S Logitech Mouse. I was so impressed with your video, that I then thought I would check out what other goodies you had tucked away. I take acid reflux medication (Nexium) every night, and most nights, due to poor diet habits of late night junk food eating, I need to have a teaspoon of bicarb soda in about 5oz (150ml) of water, and wait for a big burp before I can go to bed. If I don't, as soon as I start to sleep, I start to regurgitate. This might take me in a different direction completely, and I never though I might need more stomach acid. I will start the test tomorrow. Wish me luck.
I'm so glad you found the video, and thanks for the support! My videos are a bit all over the map, but at least that way I make sure I'm passionate about every video I make. Gerd symptoms can be really tricky to deal with. That's interesting you found a solution for before bed, but it sounds like an overall change might help you not even need that solution. Good luck, and if you ever get stuck and want to brainstorm some ideas, let me know!
Would this be the same test you would want to conduct to determine what could be causing lpr? I heard lemons are bad because they are acidic if you have lpr, but are lemons bad for you if you have gerd due to low stomach acid? Also, could lpr be caused by low stomach acid? I have lpr and just did the burp test and never burped. So if I have low stomach acid, but yet my lpr gets triggered by acidic foods and drinks, then I'm back to ground zero. So if you have low stomach acid and gerd you treat it with acidic drinks like apple cider vinegar, but if you have lpr and low stomach acid then the treatment would be??
I just created a new video to answer both of these questions. Check that out when you have a few minutes! th-cam.com/video/9TVMcS42se0/w-d-xo.htmlsi=O6kasYeN6ey0HB8g
If you go eating anything with acid , it could make your teeth transparent , from the acidic foods or drink, whatever you do , don't eat or drink anything acidity. Once it messes with your teeth, there's NO WAY , you can get it fix .

Sorethroat like mucus and burning/inflammation on the whole stomach sometimes and hearthburn so plz advice is a low stomach acid or high and how to cure it at home pemanently plz sir
Hello my friend... I have put all the suggestions I know in the videos. There is a burp test you can do to help determine if you have low or high acid. You should do that. Monitor the foods you eat and see which ones hurt you. For me it was tomatos, red wine.... but for some in these comments it seems like Gluten can do a lot of damage. Eat small portions, chew slowly, don't drink too much liquid while eating... these are all little things you can do that help. Also you need to work on your stress if you have high anxiety. It's a BIG help. Perhaps watch the video again if you need more ideas or read more comments. There are lots of suggestions there... as well you should check yourself in with a doctor in case it's something else if you are able.
I think I have both gerd and lpr. My lungs and chest area hurts a lot. Especially in the morning after sleeping. I also feel for a while after waking that I'm having a cold. And I clear my throat a lot. :( Trying to drink apple cider vinegar and betaine capsules with food. Hope it gets better!
It's frustrating isn't it? Have you gone down the path of trying to eliminate foods one by one? I definitely get a lot more phlegmy when I have dairy. Have you tried the baking soda spray for temporary relief? Hopefully the ACV and betaine helps!
@@TheSAHDLife Have not tried the baking soda spray. I know baking soda helps illeviate the symptoms here and now. But earlier on, I had success trying to get more stomach acid using these two things. So hopefully it will help again. :) But when I got relief, I was also on a medication called Olanzapine. I think the anti-anxiety properties + maybe the remedies help aliviate my symptopms, and make them go completely away for a while. But I stopped it duo to side effects. But I might see if I can go back on it, if apple cider vinegar, betaine and trying to control my anxiety doesn't work. :) It really sucks having this issue! :) Thanks for your answer!
Well I think you touched on something there... Have you spent any time working on your mind? I said this in other videos and comments but part of My success came from reading Michael singer's book, The Untethered Soul. It set me down a path of healing which I think is really important for people like us. He has an even newer book that I just read and I think it's just incredible. Perhaps check it at the library? Just a thought!
Im only 20 but ive been dealing with severe lpr symptoms for almost 2 years now, im desperate to get rid of them and stop taking ppi medicine. I also had endoscopy and a swallow test that didnt show anything, so i’ll be trying your baking soda spray bottle thing tomorrow hoping for the best
i have weight gain/ muscle building goals as well and for a while its felt contradictory to be trying to do that while dealing with these reflux issues
Have you had a chance to watch my newer video on the topic? I highly suggest you take a few mins and watch it if you haven't: th-cam.com/video/9TVMcS42se0/w-d-xo.html I think, while it's tough to ween of the PPI's, if you want to truly fix yourself, you have to get off them then figure out what is going on in the first place. It should make sense after the video. It's tough for me to offer suggestions as I don't know anything about your lifestyle, diet etc... but hopefully after the video you will have a gameplan with how to move forward on your path of healing.

I just overcame food poisoning a month ago and I think zi have both acid reflux and solent reflux. I don't have heart burn but I feel like I have something in my throat. It is bad at night and sonetimes feel nauseous.
You have to be patient with it sometimes unfortunately. I have a newer video in the pinned comment that offers the tips I still use if I ever have issues... which I don't! I feel great now!
Great video, you eating in bed hurt my whole body lol. When do you drink your ACV mix? I'm also confused that we need more acid in our stomachs? I thought the idea was to have low acid to help with reflux type symptoms. Thanks again..any info is good info. For me I stop eating around 5pm, but wake up every morning around 4am with a very empty acid feeling in my stomach..often elevated heart rate..I think this is mainly stress. Stay strong everybody, and stay positive.
Stress is probably the #1 factor in my opinion. Working on mindfulness had a HUGE impact in my recovery. I can't recommend it enough. Well there's two things that can be wrong right, low acid or too much acid. Often times people have not enough which is why I recommended trying the burp test in the video. When you don't have enough acid, your stomach muscles don't work properly and since they get weak, they let out the acid which burns to the high heavens. Adding acid helps the muscles do a better job and keeps the acid where it belongs. If you have too much acid well that's easy, reduce it. There are many ways to do that. Start with the burp test and go from there! Also check out my LPR video too if you haven't already. Good luck and thanks for watching!!
So true 👍 thanks so much for this info having acid reflux since may-22 still waiting for scoping appt.i decided to research my self I will definitely try t
I feel you... I also had issues for a long time with silent gerd. In fact I did a video on LPR also in case you missed it. You can check it out here: th-cam.com/video/1GhPlEICVHs/w-d-xo.html
Try eating red apples for a few days. My wife and I used red apples to treat acid reflux after a friend recommended it. It worked and the problem never came back.
ACV didn't work for me. I tried twice.. and in the 5th day for 1st try and in the 6th day for the 2nd try.. my GERD worsen. I cannot sleep at night because i felt there's something walking up to my esophagus and made my feel nervous-like-sensation the whole night. I just stop it and back to pills :( so sad.. like no hope. I think im just gonna change my lifestyle and take vit D3 & K2 plus vit B complex daily to fix this cause my doctor said GERD cannot be healed 100%, but you can control it. I dunno. I hope there's a miracle someday.
Did you watch my newer video in the pinned comment? Give it a watch if you get some time. I haven't had gerd since I did what I mention in that video. Years later I have 0 issues now!
Going to do this test in the morning, I’ve been dealing with constant throat mucous for awhile now. It’s been hard to focus on the cause because I have no burning in the throat or anything, thinking it’s possibly because I mainly drink alkaline water.
Let me know how it goes. I often get pretty mucusy without any other pains and I swear it's from cheese.... I do get bad seasonal allergies too. Do you eat much dairy?
@@TheSAHDLife no I don’t eat any dairy on a regular basis. I tried the test and it took me 6 min and 50 secs to burp, so I’m going back to doing the ACV. I tried it last year but not as frequent as 3 times a day. Just a question, it’s better to avoid acidic foods but you put lemon juice in the ACV mix? I’m just asking because I do have grapefruit quite often. Thanks for the help!
Your written recipe in the description doesn’t mention maple syrup. How much maple syrup did you put in? Do you drink this in the morning only? How often do you drink it? What is the dosage of melatonin?
If I have LPR and do the baking soda spray would taking ACV or betaine HCL make my LPR worse? Also, if I have too much stomach acid/burp fast when drinking the baking soda water should I keep drinking that baking soda water or should I not take anything at all?
Betaine will help you if you have low acid And will ultimately fix your LPR. So yes definitely take it depending on what you think your problem is. If you burp right away and feel like you have high acid, then you'll probably need a bit of a different approach but I think a lot of the stuff still applies in my latest video which you should be able to find in the pinned comment.
I appreciate your videos and positivity!! Wishing I'd watched before I went on PPI's for 2 months, but I weaned off of them with pepcid for 2 weeks, have been off any meds for almost 2 weeks and decided to try the burp test for a few days. Question: I do feel a slight urge to burp right after drinking the baking soda mix, but I kind of resist it...and then don't burp for at least 5 minutes. If my acid was normal or high, would that burp come out no matter what? Aka, I wouldn't be able to stop it? I do wonder if ike you, I have LOW acid which has potentially given me LPR....my Main symptom is a weird taste in my mouth for the last 6 months, some sternum pressure, and some trouble swallowing (I feel like I need to THINK about swallowing and when taking vitamins etc, I can only do one at a time), I've only had severe 'heartburn' pain 4-5 times over the last 15 years, after a large spaghetti and meatball meal or bruschetta...but never have I regurgitated acidic liquid.... Such a crazy journey trying to figure out what's going on....I'm going to see an acupuncturist next, before paying potentially $1000s at the GI to possibly have inconclusive results😢 Thanks for all of your helpful information!!
Glad you found the video. Did you watch my newer one on the subject? I linked it in the description and pinned comments. I know what you mean with the results of the burp test. I think you really have to look at your diet very carefully and determine what your triggers are before you decide whether or not you should add acid. For me eating smaller portion sizes and chewing more thoroughly and not eating close to bed were a huge part of my healing... I think that would help across the board whether you're high or low acid. Alcohol isn't great but some alcohol seems worse than others (red wine sadly)... The one thing I'm curious about with you is, have you had any stress lately? I've been experiencing some stress again and boy so many symptoms just flare right up! Throw aging into the mix and it's like you said a very difficult thing to figure out and solve for the long term.
TY so much for your response! I've watched at least 3 of your videos, multiple times...and the info I didn't share is that I've pretty much done all the lifestyle stuff, CUT alcohol, coffee, tomato, raw onion & garlic-- have no idea if any of them were/are a problem; stop eating minimum 2, usually 3 hours before laying down, elevated head of bed, added Alginates post-meal and before bed, spritz throat with baking soda alkaline h2o mix.... Since my 20s, the last 30 years, I've worked late, dinner is my favorite meal, so i would look forward to it, end of work day, no matter what time it was, eat too much, too late, too often....and yes, I'm an entrepreneur over the last 16 years, have gone thru a ton of stress and food and wine were my soothers. BUT, I hate the idea of drugs and I've been scared straight re: diet and lifestyle...The most difficult things are cutting the portion sizes, avoiding all distraction while eating, cutting dark chocolate, and I have had maybe 6 glasses of wine over the last 10 weeks...pretty darn compliant in my book! When I see a GI, I want a ph test...wouldn't that be the only way to know if I have low acid? I'm uncertain, so I didn't want to add ACV or the Betaine until I know...maybe my acupuncturist will have some insight! I'll update this! Thanks again! And best wishes to you to keep your reflux at bay!
@sowndaryat7576 hi there, no, not yet...1st available gastro appt, in network, is July 1....hope to know more after that date. Just trying to eat better as of now! Thx for asking!
Thanks for the great videos. I can tell you've done a lot of research because I am right there with you. Something I found that can help with low acid is to take supplements that contain Betaine HCl or hydrochloric acid which is the type of acid your stomach makes. I would recommend that each person does their research on it but look into HCl supplements for low acid issues. Thanks for the great videos and info! Keep them coming.
Thanks for the great comment 👊 yes I did make an updated video on the topic a couple videos back and shared that info with others. So we're definitely similar wavelengths. Sounds like you might be feeling better (hopefully)!

Thanks for the video. I subscribed and it’s the first time that I’ve subscribed after watching one video! I will try the burp test in the morning and I hope that I don’t have too much acid since I’ve been taking ACV with water every morning on an empty stomach. My question is: how does stomach issues affect the breath? I have severe bad breath and my dentist now thinks that it could be gastrointestinal related. I’ve tried everything and watched just about every video on the matter, to no avail.
Welcome to the channel! Glad you found the video. I made an updated video on the subject, not sure if you've had a chance to watch it. I can't link it since I'm on mobile but it's only a couple videos back on my channel. To be honest, your question is a bit beyond my scope. With that being said, you said you've tried everything, what do you mean by that? Have you tried eliminating all sorts of foods? How is your stress level? How are your portion sizes? Do you eat close to bed? There are so many factors at play it's hard to make suggestions without knowing more. It sounds like you are on the right path though so hopefully we can brainstorm more ideas for you.
What do your breath smell like seriously ???? I have a smell inside my body and for months , I haven't figured it out and I even went to 5 different doctors for it .
There can be a lot of things going on and it's often hard to identify the exact culprit. I pretty much had to relearn how to swallow. It can be exhausted tiny muscles in your throat (from clenching or wrong posture), it can be allergies, it can be from LPR (like I mention in the other video).... I also found success from doing TMJ exercises (Google if you think it could be grinding issues). Don't worry, it won't last forever!
Same! I have had this for 4 years, because doctors didn't know what I have. This prolonged the healing. Now I'm researching myself to finally solve it.
Acid reflux causes throat tightening and feeling like you have something in your throat, and have to swallow all the time. I had it quite some years and now I'm cured from it, the Secret is Is alkaline water, Drink alkaline water daily, about a gallon to 2 gallons and day and as the weeks go on you we feel better, drink it on a steady basis my Choice of water, is ESSENTIA high alkaline Water is key!
I'm sorry my friend. It's beyond MY scope. I do have a newer video on the topic that might give you some ideas of things to try. Should be easy to find out my channel. Hope you find relief!
Apple cider vinegar does not work for everyone, in fact for some it makes it worse. I have acid reflux and mine is very bad. Always remember no one is the same and everyone's body will react differently so as he says check with doctor then see how you go from there.
I always like suggesting the burp test... it's not 100% accurate or anything but I think it can help people get in the state of mind to really think about their problem critically, you know? Like you said, if drinking ACV hurts, maybe they have high acid already... now they know. If it doesn't, maybe they actually have weak acid and could try going down that route. I think people just don't' know what to do and I was really hoping to give people ideas for things to start trying to begin their path to healing. Thanks for chiming in!
If nothing else works, try eating red apples for a few days. My wife and I was able to get rid of acid reflux by eating red apples after a friend suggested it. It worked for us and the problem never came back.
@@rodrigobalibalita12 Can't eat any apples at the moment they don't settle, but I really appreciate the suggestion and if you have any more I'll be grateful for them.
I have a throat who is sensitive, most a feeling of it is painted with something, but have no pain, or very little burning sometimes, so reflux I read is quite painfully but do this means I have no problem there, or something else is irritating the throat> How big burp I need to have? Because I think I have to little acid. I have a lot of flatulence and burp a lot special after eat some food.
I think if you do the test for a couple days in a row you will know. If the drink goes down and you let out a loud burp or a couple burps that's a sign the acid is fine. I released a newer vide on my channel if you want to check that out I think it will help you.
@@TheSAHDLife I did it some days ago, and i only get some little almost no burp I did feel something happen in stomach when drink it. but I will try that, I have now use apple cider but have special after sleeping some irritating feeling in throat but not really pain, never had only discomfort special back in the mouth by the way. using apple cider will do be irritating in the beginning I did hear, because of throat lining is damaged, I have in mine eyes the stil reflux version, but the only way to now is go to hospital and look with a camera, only I do not like that.
I have a newer video on the topic which I linked in the pinned comment. Not sure if you have had a chance to check it out but I have lots of tips and an actual game-plan in there which will fix you.
I have swollen throat, due to gerd sometimes clicking and popping. This happened after the lump feeling in my throat. I suspect hernia or ibs .Not sure about taking betain hcl due to past hpylori infection and inflammation in stomach. And I get to know you must have a great bile flow after taking hcl before it enters the lower intestine. Otherwise it gives further side effects. Please someone help me.
Have you worked with a doctor recently? I mean that's step 1. Step 2 I think you're going to really put your lifestyle and diet under the microscope to see what is going on and if you can identify a trigger. I have a newer video on the subject on my channel that will give you more tips to trip out. Watch that if you get some time.
i am wondering what happened to you you when you drank wine? it gives me really bad heartburn instantly. Do you think it might be low stomach acid? Thank You Mike.
Wine might be one of my favorite things in life however, like a cruel joke, even ONE glass of red wine obliterated me! Ugh. Now, it HAS gotten better to the point where I can drink red wine but I still don't drink it as much as I would like because of the damage it does/did. Red sauce pasta wasn't great either. But yes, absolutely there's a huge chance your stomach acid isn't working great and will benefit from a change of lifestyle. I am working on a follow up video to this and it should be up in the next week or so!
Honestly, I don't know the exact answer. I often did before I ate as it made sense to me. I have a newer video in the pinned comment I suggest watching if you haven't already.
Right? It's a combo one two thing so I try to get people to watch them by linking videos but, I don't think people take the time to check it as maybe they aren't even aware of LPR. Hopefully you are feeling good today friend on this beautiful day :)
It may simple be a case of Subclinical Thiamine Deficiency. Thiamine deficiency inhibits the release of hydrochloric acid from gastric cells and leads hypochlorydria
From one of your other videos ,I can’t get off ppi s bec I have to much pain I take 2 a😊day for thirty yrs,now I’m weaning to Pepsid 1/3 of the time very slowly ,I want to do the test but u said I can’t on the meds .what can I do to test for low acid . I’ve had a burning mouth on and off for yrs and a few other symptoms u mentioned but not all of them .i can say apple cider vinegar GIVES me horrible pain,I’m scared to death of it now,HELP!!!!
I know it's frustrating. And to be honest, I don't know if there is a way to actually test your stomach acid quality if you are on PPI's. It's impossible to say and beyond my scope. I personally had a gut feeling that low acid was in fact my problem, so I had to ween off the PPI's and I started adding acid quite quickly and luckily it worked for me. I use the Betaine HCL pills instead of ACV because they don't burn going down. I would also really take a look at your diet. What you eat has a huge influence on symptoms and a lot of people don't even realize that some of the foods they consume are causing them problems. Perhaps a good conversation with your doctor is in order? The fact you aren't getting better suggests you might want to try something else. They should be able to work with you on that. You could explain this approach and see what they say.
I can't go low carb or I have massive cramps with diarrhea. I need rice, oats, and sometimes sourdough bread (fermented foods make my stomach feel amazing).
Hey I've watched all 3 of your videos. They are great. I contacted you before, so hopefully I'm not wearing out my welcome. I've been trying to treat my LPR symptoms with baking soda. It's temporary relief, however, because I'm also trying to regain my stomach acid with ACV or Betaine, Is building stomach acid and trying to get rid of the painful pepsin going to work together? it's a bit confusing to me. I just can't get over the hump and it's been 24 days. But in all fairness I messed up from the beginning by trying to add stomach acid while going off Omeprazole.
Hi and thanks for watching the videos. I'm always around to help so no worries there :) Just to start from the beginning... are you sure you have low acid? Did you ever do/try the burp test? Your stomach is the source of all your problems... even though your throat is a major source of discomfort we need to fix the original problem. Once you do, your throat will follow so be patient. Have you been taking Betaine consistantly with meals? You had mentioned the last 24 days but I'm not sure if you were just taking acv or what. And yes that's a rough start switching directly over from taking Omeprazole. Let me know a little more info with how long you've been doing what and we'll go from there.
I did the burp test two different times and didn't burp. In the first two weeks I was taking 1tbsp of ACV 4 times a day. I had not seen your video that cautions to NOT be taking ACV or Betaine while going off of a PPI and I think that set me back. I think that is when the rebound acid and the ACV acid wreaked havoc on my esophagus. In my experience, I think it takes a good 2 weeks to get the PPI out of your system before you can start replenishing. It seems as though the ACV might be working better for me than the Betaine. I was doing the Betaine a few weeks ago and my stomach started hurting real bad. I started with 1 dose with meals which didn't seem to do a lot, but when I went to 2 doses my stomach revolted. In my case, I feel it might be a little bit easier to control the replenishing phase with ACV. I'm going to stay with this for a while, but there have been many times when I stared at the bottles of Omeprazole and thought about going back. Thank you so much for your videos and your relies to my issues. I appreciate it. @@TheSAHDLife
@@salinger007 Did you stick with the 1 betaine per meal for very long at all? It sounds like that might have been a good amount for you. I have had that sometimes where I take two and it feels very uncomfortable. It sounds like you are on a path to healing though so keep up what works and makes sense to you. Keep note of your triggers too right? Sometimes not getting enough sleep makes me stressed out which makes my symptoms much stronger. Sounds like you have hope and that makes me happy! Have an awesome weekend :)
Bro I have been doing these facial assymetry excercises because inverted camera made me insecure 😅 then for some reason my jaw started clicking when I clench and open my mouth. I stopped doing it. I don't know what can I do to fix it. And now this GERD that I am experiencing. I drink black coffee on empty stomach when I wake up, this makes the symptoms go away and then I workout; And I am on a bulk so I have to eat alot to gain size and I drink water after it, and I sleep 😢. I SINCERELY HOPE YOU READ MY COMMENT AND REPLY ❤❤❤
Hey man! Ok... There's a few things you said that are HUGE triggers for gerd, so you are going to have to make a decision... either you focus on fixing your body, or you deal with having gerd. Coffee on an empty stomach is bad idea for gerd. Eating big portions where your stomach can't close is a bad idea. I know you want to gain size, and you can, you just have to do it a certain way. I'm not sure what kind of food you are eating, obviously you are going to have to bump up your protein, but go easy on the simple carbs. And don't eat too close to bed. I'm not sure about your jaw clicking but I know that is pretty common. You might have better luck researching that on it's own. It seems like a pretty easy fix in your case my friend... less acid especially when you have an empty stomach, smaller portion sizes, don't drink too much liquids while eating, don't eat much before bed, and work on your mental health by learning how to not be stressed. Can you make those changes?
When you make the spray or just gargle baking soda it's really not enough to change your stomach PH levels. Plus if you watch my newer video in the pinned comment, you'll see we are also adding acid (Betaine) and focusing on fixing the stomach #1. If you only do that your throat will fix on its own. The baking soda is just for temporary relief while we fix our gut.
Glad you found the video! It's nice to have a starting point for self-diagnoses at least right? It's not perfect but it might help people start in the correct spot instead of trying to fix the wrong thing.
Hi. I have silent reflux for 3 years. I only feel that i need to clean my theoat and my mouth is little bit bitter. I don't want to go doctor because i don't wanna take any medication. These medication are useless. Im not sure what i should do. My symptoms are mild .

I hope this video gives you hope! REALLY be mindful of your lifestyle choices (do you drink a lot of bubbly water? Do you chew your food well? Are you sensitive to any foods you eat?) because it could very likely be something you aren't considering that's causing you pain. Some of my biggest contributing factors were: eating portions that were too large, not chewing well enough, eating too close to bed, and consuming too much liquid with a meal.

you don't have acid very bad if you can play around with it for a month, people with severe acid like me want something like yesterday
Should I be taking BETAINE if I have an hiatus hernia?
(Also prevents acid on your teeth.)
Once your LES starts closing tighter, your throat and esophagus should heal.
Thanks for sharing that! Good idea for sure. I also have some Betaine/HCL pills on my shelves I use nowadays when/if I need it since I don't do the vinegar anymore... don't need it! Feeling good :)

Anxiety and reflux are awful
I’m only 18 and I don’t want to rest of my life to be spent feeling like this.

@TheSAHDLife the other good thing is fasting
I listened to Berg with the lump in throat treatment Calcium Lactate and it didn’t work. Don’t really trust that guy he’s not a real doctor.

@@debbiec6216 Yes. It will erode the teeth if the mouth is not rinsed well after. Brushing after acidic items is not advised until after a good rinse. I have been using ACV for years. I have zero cavities or tooth erosion. Thanks for the good advice!

@TheSAHDLife so very true.
@@TheSAHDLife i’ve had had four endoscopies and many other tests, similar like you, and they can never find what’s wrong with my constant esophageal, burning and throat burning. I’ve taken PPIs all my life, and the only thing that gives me any relief is baking soda as I saw your other video, thank you for the information and I hope you keep providing your results, you provide a great service. I hope I get some relief soon.
Hi, would a local dietitian a local hospital specialize in GERD diet I didn’t know there was a specialty for GERD diet thank you so much !
@@joeh6236 Yeah that's frustrating my friend. Have you ever tried weening off the PPI's or is that just too painful?
Thank you for sharing this video. I have been suffereing from silent reflux for about a year and after watching ur video I finally found relief. I started simple by making smoothies in the morn w fruit, ginger and yogurt. I believe the ginger and the probiotics in the yogurt helped. I continue to eat a low carb diet and my wheezing at night has finally disappeared!!!! Thank you thank you!
Loved reading your message. That's so awesome to hear! Thanks for the comment and hope you continue to feel better and enjoy life without pain again!
Did you get your esophagus healed??? If so , what did you use to heal it ??? Thank you .

When i found your video i have hope again for healing . And i have my digestive enzymes and betaine hcl already ready for me to take , just gotta make sure i have low stomach acid
What do u think about me burping at the 4:30 min ?

If nothing else works for acid reflux, try eating red apples for a few days and you will see a positive result.

Have you suffered Gerd also
I’m starting the Apple cider vinegar now, so far so good, but still got the symptoms so far, and slowly slowly coming off my PPIs….
This was soooooo helpful 👏
I know... coming off PPI's was terrifying for me too.
@@cindygaudet1390 I know.. it's gross eh? lol. I don't think you'll get accurate results while on PPI's unfortunately.
What was your diet like during this? And what is it like now?
How are u doing currently? After ACV usage?
If nothing else works, try eating red apples for a few days and get rid of that reflux. It works.
If you go eating anything with acid , it could make your teeth transparent , from the acidic foods or drink,
whatever you do , don't eat or drink anything acidity. Once it messes with your teeth, there's NO WAY , you can get it fix .

@@JayaLakshmi-xn2uk Aw thanks for the comment. They are awesome... Which is why getting well so I can enjoy them is so important. Be patient and listen to your body. I'm mostly good but even I had a bad day today... I let my guard down and stuffed my face and drank too much last night and just wrecked my stomach. Today was rough! But I know how to fix it. Gotta be more careful as we get older!
Thanks, very helpful,
Thanks for watching. Hope you find relief soon my friend!
Sounds like you might have some post nasal drip. Do you eat pretty close to bed?
@@TheSAHDLife No I avoid that.
I highly suggest you take a few mins and watch it if you haven't: th-cam.com/video/9TVMcS42se0/w-d-xo.html
I think, while it's tough to ween of the PPI's, if you want to truly fix yourself, you have to get off them then figure out what is going on in the first place.

This comment just popped up in my feed. How are you doing now?!

Will this method fix bad breath from the gut ?
If I have LPR and do the baking soda spray would taking ACV or betaine HCL make my LPR worse? Also, if I have too much stomach acid/burp fast when drinking the baking soda water should I keep drinking that baking soda water or should I not take anything at all?
Betaine will help you if you have low acid And will ultimately fix your LPR. So yes definitely take it depending on what you think your problem is. If you burp right away and feel like you have high acid, then you'll probably need a bit of a different approach but I think a lot of the stuff still applies in my latest video which you should be able to find in the pinned comment.
Important to always rinse after taking ACV tonics !!!
Save 😁 your teeth
Yes!
Such a crazy journey trying to figure out what's going on....I'm going to see an acupuncturist next, before paying potentially $1000s at the GI to possibly have inconclusive results😢
Thanks for all of your helpful information!!

Thanks for the great videos. I can tell you've done a lot of research because I am right there with you.

@@TheSAHDLife I agree .

How big burp I need to have? Because I think I have to little acid. I have a lot of flatulence and burp a lot special after eat some food.
I think if you do the test for a couple days in a row you will know. If the drink goes down and you let out a loud burp or a couple burps that's a sign the acid is fine. I released a newer vide on my channel if you want to check that out I think it will help you.

i am wondering what happened to you you when you drank wine? it gives me really bad heartburn instantly.
Hopefully you are feeling good today friend on this beautiful day :)
It may simple be a case of Subclinical Thiamine Deficiency. Thiamine deficiency inhibits the release of hydrochloric acid from gastric cells and leads hypochlorydria
I am not familiar with that. Do you have any more information on it (advice, treatment etc..) people could read to learn more?
What did the doctor says when you did the endoscopy? Did you do bloodtest too?
They said nothing! It was frustrating as they didn't really have anything to say afterwards. Bloodwork was good.

@@TheSAHDLife sourdough, yogurt, saurkraut. Almost all three every day.
I'm always around to help so no worries there :)
Just to start from the beginning... are you sure you have low acid?

Keep note of your triggers too right? Sometimes not getting enough sleep makes me stressed out which makes my symptoms much stronger.
Sounds like you have hope and that makes me happy! Have an awesome weekend :)
Thanks so much! I do feel optimistic!
You are welcome. It's nice to get hope back isn't it? Ugh for so long when you feel terrible... it takes it toll. A little hope really helps!
But if you take baking soda for LRP doesn't that also lower stomach acid which is not good if it is low already and you have acid reflux too yeah? 🤔😬
@@TheSAHDLife thank you...! 🙏🏼
@@mirapavlovic1960 Np 👊 Good luck!
Thank you very much, especially for this experiment so every one can imagine how the burp test works! 👍🏻
Did you happen to watch my other video on LPR? I link it from this one. That baking soda spray might help you. I mean it sounds like you need to make some lifestyle changes as well.
