Hi. I have both acid reflux and IBS. I got diagnosed with IBS in 1988 and then I went to the hospital on January 22nd I thought I was having a heart attack but they said it was Acid reflux. I'm still having it but how do you get rid of it?
Thanks Molly. I have reflux . The past year went worse. Before I ever had reflux/ gerd Id never even taken time to know what it was. I Didn't have to. Now it consumes too much of my time and distraction. And got to be antacids don't really work. I'll sub.
I'm crying right now. This has been so isolating and lonely. I was diagnosed with GERD last year and put on so many different meds. They help but I don't want to take meds forever. The GI doctor says this can never heal but I can reduce symptoms, and I never believed that to be true. I'm glad I came across your video because now I have a glimmer of hope. Thank you for dedicating yourself to this work so that people like me can find hope again and heal.
You will improve and heal slowly with a non inflammatory diet It good to take medication, but we can’t take medication for ever I healed once Then some recently I was prescribed antibiotics for parainfluenza and got me back to zero Today I am on my fifth day taking Famotidine, I am supposed to take it for a month, I am back to my non inflammatory diet, try to eat everything natural, can food and highly processed foods will irritate your stomach lining. Do some breathing exercises to strengthen your sphincter muscle
I've been struggling with Acid Reflux for 8 yrs. Taking a PPI forever. Keeping a good diet and exercise and no alcohol, except for a glass of red wine. 2 cups of coffee in the morning. If I miss the PPI just 1 day, my symptoms return. I give up.
My gerd was definitely related to my anxiety. 3 years ago I dedicated my life to the Lord and I cut alcohol, birth control, fast food, etc. I started caring for my spiritual life and that reflected in my outer physical body tremendously. Exercising as well.I started a prayer lifestyle which helped me with my stress and anxiety. 1 cor.19 19 "Do you not know that your bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own; 20 you were bought at a price. Therefore honor God with your bodies."
@@bartbutkis Why so disrespectful? If this person committed to a life of yoga or manifesting or any other "spiritual" practice, would you have laughed? Why is it so easy to make fun of people who turn to the Lord?
@@thrilledinthird7415 Exactly! I'm so glad others are noticing this. People are okay when "the universe" or any other spiritual belief that gives them guidance but when it's God especially Christianity then all of a sudden that's a no no.

I have been through GERD for over 2 years myself and I also tried many... many... things just like you. Listening to your video is like unpacking all of the key insights learned (in the hard way). I wish i learned from your video 2-3 years ago. Things that eventually work for me is the smaller but constant meals before getting too hungry e.g. ready digestive friendly snacks at home, use licorice root to coat our oesophagus before meals (usually before dinner works best for me), use ginger root to reduce bloat (if the occasional bloat happens), use betaine hydrochlorine digestive enzyme to handle difficult to digest foods (sometimes we have no choice but to eat those foods), daily probiotics to ensure our digestive function is in tip-top condition. Be mindful of the right posture (prevent hunching) plus finding the right sleeping position (i put small thin pillow below my lower back) including simple breathing techniques (deep breath) when Acid reflux flare up to calm our mind. I also learned that adding anti inflammatory foods into our meals such as cabbage, high glutamine red meat like beef prevent the bloat and acid reflux though it might not be possible to plan everyday. I have felt a a lot better now with occasional flare up only most commonly due to work stress/ too tired and aftermath of flu sickness. I guess we cant remove this condition completely as we are bound to change our routines due to work, family and lifestyle commitments but we are more prepared to deal with it when things go bad and rise above it : )
Great list of potential lifestyle changes. Also, I have heard good things about betaine hcl (from Dr. Berg), glad to hear that you use it and it works.
7 years of this pain. Since childhood I dealt with incest and abuse and couldn’t love myself.. each year since 2019, I have found bits and pieces of relief and forgiveness. Truly appreciate what you’re doing. May you be blessed.
I’m only one minute in. I’m crying. It’s been said already but, thank you. I have acid reflux and IBS and I feel so alone. I feel sick every single day. I don’t want to be this way my entire life but it’s been so long, I don’t see an end. I’ve been undereating and have been feeling like I’m very deregulated. I wake up nauseous and go to sleep nauseous and barely sleep as of lately due to it causing me to vomit. It feels so lonely here, I can’t even complain bc no one understands so it’s not worth saying anything anymore. I was diagnosed with IBS in 2019 but as of now 2024 I have GERD as well. I need to change my life. I’m on medication, I’ve changed my diet, but all I want is to feel better. To sleep through the night.
How you doing? Have you tried some remedies? Oat porridge in the morning would be good, it soothes the stomach. Best Wishes! You are not alone, I try here too.
always fight... Bliv in ur self dat you can pass dis and urcapable of surviving... Just pray and love ur self...hope everything will get fine soon for u
I'm crying right now, this is me everyday, all these symptoms and I am so stressed because of my lifestyle. I have pots syndrome and my electrolytes keep making my acid worse so I Google what electrolytes do not cause GERD flare ups and I found you. I'm not even eating anymore because I'm afraid to even eat anymore. The shortness of breath, my sinus, I'm so miserable. I'm glad I found your page.
Sorry dear . I was also diagnosed with chronic gastritis with GERD . It’s been two years and I have been miserable. No happiness at all . My mouth , my nose my throat is filled with gas . Seriously this is terrible
I'm going through this right now. I lost my job. I feel hopeless. I can't keep doing this. I vomited last night and my stomach burned all night. After I caught covid I couldn't get my stomach to stop burning. I was in bed for a month. I finally went to the ER twice and was misdiagnosed and given antibiotics that made my stomach even worst.
Bless your heart! I know it's not easy, but have faith. Things will work out, sit with yourself, meditate, get some exercise, the things she is talking about.. ❤️🙏 prayers for you.
Same here. Got serious reflux issue 6 years ago and endoscopy found nothing but excessive acid. Was out on PPI for 6 years and got IBS and lost tons of weight. Finally, I regulated my stress, found a really accupuncture doctor, and ready to heal. Now I am struggling with quitting the pills. Trying to search for all kinds of advices. I guess everyone is different. DGL and enzymes helps, but apple cider vinegar makes it worse. No eating 3 hours before bed helps, change to decaf helps, and sleep in an elevated position helps. Another thing I found helping is core training and muscle strengthening. Somehow doing core exercises relief the occasional heart burn for me. Now I am only taking 1/4 of the original omeprazole dose, and I will try to cut all soon. My IBS is almost gone already, which confirms that it was actually cause by the PPI. Hope everyone gets well soon!
Years ago my wife and I suffered from acid reflux due to drinking a lot of coffee and fruit juice in bottles. A church mate recommended eating red apples for a few days. I used red apple delicious and my wife Fuji apples. Both of them worked. Acid reflux gone and never came back to this day. We no longer avoid drinks or foods which could trigger acid reflux.
@@rodrigobalibalita12 Thank you so much for sharing this! This is inspiring! I usually like Granny Smith apples but I'm going to try the red delicious and see if it works! Thank you!!
Just stumbled upon Molly recently. Couldn’t agree more with her central messages abut the priority of managing your nervous system. Looking forward to watching more.
I have been working on studying nutrition off and on for a decade and am looking to become a wellness coach and this may have been one of the best, most validating things ive ever seen!
This community of us who struggle with Gerd need you as a source of guidance and knowledge! So thankful I came a-crossed your channel. I have a scope of my esophagus scheduled tomorrow and am praying it’s just inflammation and nothing more. Life style change is everything! I’m ready to implement these tips and tricks into my daily live & hope to see an improvement soon.
Wonderful that you have healed your GERD! One thing to explore that led to the cure for my GERD was low stomach acid. The valve at the top of your stomach won't close if acid is too low. It was easy to discover by doing an easy test on an empty stomach: drink 4 oz of water with 1/4 teaspoon of baking soda. As stomach acid turns the baking soda neutral it produces gas. If you don't burp, you likely have low stomach acid. Low acid can be treated by supplementing during meals with Betaine HCL. Finding the right dose of Betaine HCL (OTC) to take with meals completely relieved my symptoms and is helping to let my body heal and resume adequate acid production. I'm hoping to eventually wean off. Lots of causes of low acid (hypothyroid, vitamin deficient, high stress, etc). Is this something that you explore with patients?
Some people suggest apple cider vinegar for that. You may want to try that. There is a video where a guy with 15 years of acid reflux drinks apple cider vinegar for 30 days. I'm sharing link here: th-cam.com/video/JkJu9OAJ8l4/w-d-xo.html
I am 75 years old. I started getting a sore throat and reported that to my nurse practitioner . She told me to get the common acid blockers over the counter and , of course, I was continuing with Tums . Not very long after that , I became aware that acid reflux , especially in older people , is from LOW stomach acid and not from too much acid, You need adequate levels of stomach acid to keep the esophageal sphincter closed and to adequately digest your food. Acid blockers like PPIs are the enemy and can lead to many other problems with proper digestion . There are many UTube videos by medical people on this topic . I have been addressing this issue for myself and have found relief by increasing my stomach acid during meals using Betaine HCL and digestive enzymes . The Betaine HCL brings in the HCL (hydrochloride acid) to your stomach during meals and is necessary for protein digestion . This is something that everyone should be aware of you are having stomach issues . Check it out and best wishes to all !
How could I find out if my acid reflux is due to low acid or too much acid? Is there a test or did you discover this from medical people on TH-cam? This is so interesting.
Caffeine was a big trigger for me. My heart burn was different than most; it feels like I am having a heart attack, a lot of pressure in the front chest and my back. Doctor checked me out, said gerd and gave me ppi’s. Took briefly, stopped and the heartburn came back. But because of dementia risk I requested something else and now on H2 blocker which makes it tolerable. Thanks for these tips to try! Glad there is hope 😊
My wife's acid reflux was due to too much consumption of coffee and I got mine from drinking a lot of fruit juices in bottles. We got rid of the problem by eating red apple fruits for a few days after a fellow church goer recommended it. It happened many years ago and it never came back, Drinking coffee and fruit juices are no longer an issue and we can eat foods which normally trigger acid reflux.
STRESS without doubt is the main contributory factor! Stress is, sadly, a pandemic today, is it any wonder? I have a hiatus hernia for 15 years, on no meds, never a problem; now, pain, gerd, post nasal drip...everything! It's STRESS causing everything! Yes, of course have a good diet but please bear in mind to address the stress in your life. Not easy, but it has to be done! I try hard to laugh at myself, don't take life too seriously, no one is getting out alive!. Watch comedies, turn off all news, be kind to yourself and others, be around children and pets, turn off all news, oops did I already mention that? VISUALISATION a must! Listen to TH-cam meditation videos, healing videos, biannual beats...all really helpful. Molly's advice is great so well worth making notes. My prayers are with you all beautiful souls...you've got this!!!
With all these issues you've been able to remove the symptoms through stress management? I'm going for an endoscopy next week, I pray I don't have a HH 😢
I was recently diagnosed with reflux and have been trying to heal. It's a very frustrating process and I truly feel lost. I don't even look forward to eating. You're a lifesaver, Molly; I've shed many tears over this and hearing your words, tips, videos gives me hope. Reached out for the 1:1; thank you so much, thank you.
This was EVERYTHING I have been experiencing to a T and no doctor in 16 years has ever been able to help me or has mentioned any of this. Thank you so much for sharing.
I have been dealing with this for 5 years, start with an elimination diet of known triggers - diary, caffeine, alcohol, sugar and gluten. Let your digestive system heal for at least a month. If your symptoms improve then bring them back back one at a time for 2 weeks to see if symptoms return, then eliminate the culprit.. I agree stress is a huge component, yoga, walks in nature, cut out toxic people, meditation. The good result is weight loss from all those grain foods (carbs), eating whole foods nothing ultra processed and exercise.
@@jsvanilla I have removed all grains and starchy vegetables. I use Lactose free milk. I eat all meat products and vegetables except starch such as potatoes sweet and regular. No flour, baked goods, bread, desserts. I have been doing this for months now, no more IBS or Gerd, able to dispose all medications. Let me know if you need more.
I was just diagnosed yesterday and went to the hospital was the worse feeling ever literally thought I was dying. No one talks about heard palpitations with gerds and acid reflux too. And this video is so informative! Thank you
If you're still suffering from acid reflux, try eating red apple delicious or Fuji apples for a few days. It worked for me and my wife and our friends also. The problem never came back.
I am a Stage 3 Esophagus cancer survivor...almost 5 years cancer free and Acid Relux has been an issue and depleted my quality of life...I am off PPI's and dabbling in ACV.
I hope it works for you. It is really awful to have acid reflux. My wife and I experienced it too several years ago. The frequent belching and pain and burning sensation when acid is rising up our throat. We used to avoid certain foods and drinks which could trigger the reflux. We completely got rid of it after someone at the church suggested to us to try eating red apple fruits. We used the red apple delicious and Fuji apples and we were so amazed after a few days eating those fruits acid reflux was gone. Since then we never had acid reflux again regardless of what we eat or drink.
I am watching this video for the first time in April 2024 and THANK YOU for creating it! I have just recently started having severe heartburn and some reflux in the last month. My mom had GURD very bad for years, but this is the first time I have had it as bad as she did. Your video gives me hope that I can take control of this and heal myself.
You're basically diluting your stomach's pH, then your stomach has to increase acid production just to catch up. If there's not enough acid or pH is too high this can cause the lower esophageal sphincter to not close properly.... Or so they say, seems to make sense
@@facts4147 well you first need to identify why. Do you have simply low acid, or do you have a stomach bacteria causing the low acid? Hard to tell up front. I'm going through the same thing right now, I can tell you what I'm doing. I refuse to take PPIs, they will never fix the issue and only make it worse. I changed my diet, I stopped drinking Sprite and I stopped eating so much chocolate. When my reflux will act up, I will break a Tums into four pieces. Chew up one piece at a time and make it liquid before you swallow it, this will at least provide some relief to your esophagus without diluting the acid in your stomach too much. I'm going to start a regimen of betaine hydrochloride, That has a little bit of pepsin in it. If you tried this make sure you look up signs and symptoms to be aware of after starting it. In some cases the betaine hydrochloride will react with the bacteria and cause some bloating and discomfort. If this is the case then you first need to try a course of d-limonene. This will penetrate the mucus layer enough to get rid of some of the bacteria. The bacteria produce alkaline waste which further reduces the acidity of your stomach. Getting rid of the possible bacteria alone could fix the issue, but if not start a course of betaine hydrochloride to reacidify the stomach. Betaine hcl must be done very carefully. Before trying that you could start taking a regimen of vitamin c in the form of ascorbic acid, and you also could try a regiment of apple cider vinegar. The bottom line is if your stomach has low acidity there are only a few causes either bacteria or diet for the most part. Lowering the pH of your stomach will likely cause your lower esophageal sphincter to close on its own. But sometimes you cannot lower the acidity of your stomach without changing your diet or if you have a bacterial overgrowth in your stomach. You have to nail down exactly what's causing your issue so that you can properly lower the pH of your stomach.
I am gald that i came across your video. I have been suffering from gerd and it's uncomfortable, i am at the point of giving up. I dont know what to do, i just want to feel normal again. The throt discomfort gives me aniexty, every morning i wake up the worst thought comes to mind, its more than gerd. This video gives me hope. I am currently on lanzap and i still have symptoms daily. Thanks for this video.
Sooo happy I found you... They could not find anything wrong with me... And took out my gallbladder thinking that would help... I had severe pain under my tin on the left.... And started having it again recently...... I'm over here thinking it could be my pancreas..... Going to finish your video now. ❤❤❤
Hello Maam, Im from the Philippines and just diagnosed last May 2024 and at last I finally found a content who checked the marks I observed with GERD. This is Beautiful, God bless you - God bless us with our journey regardless our beliefs. Listening to you is like a warm hug from a mom.
Sana ay magaling ka. Kung hindi pa. Subukan mong kumain ng pulang mansanas na prutas ng ilan araw Iyan ang nakagamot sa akin at sa misis ko. Red apple delicious at Fuji ang ginamit namin.
I went to the GI doctor for months, they said I had GERD and just not to eat these foods, I did this strictly and it still didn’t help, they put me on strong meds which took way my GERD but within a week I started to get painful stabbing symptoms in my liver area, went back to the doctor and they did more tests, my GI doctor said “oh no that wouldn’t be the new meds causing that” then after many tests she said “well I don’t think I can do anything for you sooo” I stopped using the meds, and boom that pain in my liver area that would cause me to gasp and hunch over, was gone. Then I went and read this book “acid watchers diet” and it helped a lot! Took time and dedication to follow it and stopped eating certain things. My acid reflux is back so I’m trying new things to figure it out, that’s why I am here! Hoping to apply some of this to my life
I hope you be fine but if not yet you should check your blood test and see what maybe low if none been can be stress and so far I also have it from 4 month and I'm annoyed either🥲🥲 but mine maybe cause stress and over eating that I had cause it
If nothing else works, try eating red apples (red apple delicious or Fuji apples are very effective) for a few days. Red apples are alkaline in nature and can neutralize too much acid.
One thing I'd like to share i was showing NO good probiotics in my stomach, months after a bad dose of food poisoning...started adding probiotic supplements back in and relief is occuring from reflux. Just another potential cog in the sequence... Appreciate you all and Molly what can I say...youve been like my nutritionist, Doc and psychologist lol Love and strength to you all x
I could just cry hearing your story. Ill definetly subscribe to your channel. I dont want to take meds. I have had anxiety all my life. Im 56 year old female. Ill check out your app. I used to do yoga. I need to get back into it. You make alot of sense.
I just woke up feeling shortness of breath due to acid reflux and it’s become so frustrating. My symptoms came after taking a few rounds of antibiotics, I came down with acute bronchitis which started my panic attacks at night a week or 2 later I came down with bad acid reflux. I try to do everything correctly and I’m out of options! So glad I found your channel where I feel so understood! Anxiety and stress is definitely fueling it!
Eat red apples for a few days to get rid of acid reflux. Red apples are alkaline in nature and can neutralize too much acid in the stomach which can turn into acid reflux.
You may also try eating red apples such as red apple delicious or Fuji apples for a few days to treat acid reflux. My wife and I used red apples and it worked and acid reflux never came back.
Good video for getting in the right mindset and lifestyle tips. In addition, I would say that reflux is caused by poor digestion, causing fermintation of gut bacteria. I.e. food that has been poorly assimilated and is rotting in your gut, creating gas backpressure that forces acid up through the hital sphincter. Look at sibo and its relation to mmc (migrating motor complex). A great solution I've found is to take ginger and artichoke supplements before bedtime and also combine with intermitant fasting. Also, look in Elliot Overton regarding supplementing thiamine b1
It’s a true miracle I found your channel. I’ve been trying to tell the GI doctor that there’s something wrong but they keep telling me it’s acid reflux but throw a ppi at you & expect you do get better. I’m so grateful to find someone who has experienced this & is knowledgeable about how to fix it. Thank you for sharing the information with us!! I’m so excited to hear what I need to do besides just going on a specific diet!!!
Ugh! Finally I found Your page, Because that's What I've been feeling Right Now! Acid Reflux, It's so Challenging For me, I'm Feeling Scared everytime, Scared Of lossing, Death and etc . Everything Was on My Mind! thank you !
I normally don't comment on channels where the creator only acknowledges certain comments or hearts certain comments bc it's such a blatant disregard towards the other commenters who have taken the time to either give the creator nice compliments/ comments or have made a comment that's very helpful to their audience. Imo, acknowledge all of your commenters or none at all and if you're going to answer questions, don't answer some and not all. With that said, your comment touched me so bc you sound hopeless. Please don't feel hopeless. GERD and Acid Reflux can consume and drain our mental head space. Our quality of life truly can begin to deplete, I know the feeling oh so well, believe me. 🥺 I strongly believe that We can overcome this though. I have began to drastically change my diet and eating portions. I'm starting to do better with exercise, I'm not doing it as much as I should but I'm getting better and I will continue to get better at exercising. I'm not overweight but now that I'm much older, my body and a lil common sense is telling me that I *need* to exercise. 🤷 I'm drinking lots and lots and lots of water. It was a MUST that I cut out SUGAR also. I am addicted to it. Seriously, no joke. Also processed food have to go. My stomach was bloated EVERY single day. I was loosing so much weight bc ANYTHING that I ate caused my stomach to feel like there was an inferno inside of it, it felt like I had no lining protecting my stomach. Acid was tearing my stomach up!! 🔥 I was literally afraid to eat. I'm not a pill popper, I've never been. So, I knew I had to do something to get better.....naturally. I cried sometimes bc the daily struggle with GERD is so overwhelming. I used to carry around a bag with me inside of my home😮 bc the acid was so bad, I had to continuously release it into the bag. 🤢 I know... TMI but just want you to know that I truly can relate to how you're feeling but want you to know that you can get better. Please, please focus on and be determined to get better. Continue watching the TH-cam vids. Everything that all say are not going to be helpful to you bc we all have different bodies and what works for someone else might not work for you. Don't give up though, you will recognize what works for your body. Just know that you will get better. Do all that you can to eliminate stress in your life. I believe that conquering AR and GERD is *definitely* a lifestyle change that requires a lot of discipline. You can conquer it. Start some lifestyle changes. Start with changing your eating habits AND liquids also.. the soft drinks and sodas must go, the sugar is not your friend so if you are a junk foodie like I was, it must stop! 😳 Processed foods must go! Get a plan in place to get started!! You'll start to feel better and then you'll start to feel more and more encouraged as you start to feel better!!! Get on your mark and just START! YOU GOT THIS!!!! YOU TOO, StamfordBlue!!! 👍🏾👍🏾☺️☺️

Thanks for the info and encouragement. I will believe that i will get better. Tough journey. This video has given me confidence that I will get over my anxiety and food fears. I loved eating before but have so much fears now.
THANK YOU MOLLY, VERY MUCH, I WAS RECENTLY TOLD BY MY DOCTOR I MAY HAVE GERD, I WANT TO THE THE ER, THINKING I WAS HAVING A HEART ATTACK...EKG,WAS PERFORMED,BLOOD WORK AS WELL, AND TOLD EVERYTHING WAS FINE...THIS CHANNEL IS A GOD SEND
Things that help me: Zinc carnosine, aloe vera juice daily, stop eating chocolate and coffee, eat less at one time, cut down on bread and dairy. I'm going to try DGL.
She has valuable i formation.. we need vitamin B12, D3, iron to make up for nutrient loss resulting from vomiting, diarrhea etc. Be careful of iron for women over 40. Make sure it is absorbed and does not collect in the brain. Relaxation is key. This pretty girl speaks quickly, nervously and makes me nervous to watch her and listen. A helpful doctor suggested breathing slowly, 5 slow inhales, exhales before a meal. And after the meal breathe again and either sit straight or walk….do not lie back or sleep.. that sends digestive acid up the wind pipe
I also have the same problem I had underwent fundoplication for acid reflux but unfortunately it failed..now I changed my lifestyle and taking homeopathy medicine and nutrient therapy in India
everybody keeps talking about acid reflux connecting to mental health, but my reflux flared up AFTER my depression and anxiety were gone along with stressful job. i literally couldn’t be calmer than i am at this point in life. everything is great except for my stomach.
does anyone know slippery elm like supplement in western europe? all i can find are american supplements but the delivery is too expensive upd: found local licorice root supplement
Natural remedies such as red apple delicious or Fuji apples fruits might help you. Eat those apples for a few days to get rid of acid reflux. That's what we did several years ago and we're acid reflux free til this day.
Sounds like you have low stomach acid. Drink 1 tbsp of Apple cider vinegar in a glass of water before you eat. Do not eat processed foods and reduce/cut out sugar. Also, take digestive enzymes before you eat.
apple cider vinegar increases the phd in the stomach which allows the upper stomach close the right way so acids stay in the stomach plus water according to your weight
If it hasn’t been mentioned yet, make your own kefir milk from kefir grains. I’ve been off omeprazole for a week now since I started making my own kefir milk and drinking it everyday. It’s a game changer.
I have had acid reflux for many years, most doctors will suggest PPI's and send you on your way. A couple of years ago a physician assistant showed me the symptoms of LPR, I had all of them! He also told me the only "cure" is to change diet-"what you are eating maybe is what's eating you." Also, when I went to a gastroenterologist and told her about LPR she said she never hear of it. Unbelievable! Thank you Molly for sharing your wealth of knowledge and for understanding, you give me hope.
I had very bad acid reflax and I healed by drinking juice from organic FERMENTED SAUERKRAUT beter then ACV, drinking KEFIR better then yogurt and organic Aloe Vera juce. I also buying more organic food, i don't buy meat at the stores now I'm ordering grass fed pastured meats from Company WILD PASTURE. Big, big difference how better i feel now. Hope that will help you.
Hmm this is the second comment I am seeing about kefir. Aloe juice has worked really well for me but I would also consider kefir. Do you make it or by it? My homemade kefir never turns out properly.
@lmo8366 buy kefir at the Aldi, Publix or Walmart made by Lifeway company. If you can get organic that's great if not make sure is plain, not flavor one.
I'm so glad I encountered your video, I feel not so alone. And I kinda started to freaked out when I had sore troath due to acid reflux and been to toilet 4 times already. I mean i need to put action to this, and this is gonna change. Thank you for sharing this to us, you're a blessing to everybody suffering the same thing that there's a light at the end of the tunnel.
So glad you found my page 🤍 wishing you all the best in your reflux relief journey! I hope my page is helpful for you be sure to check out my IG and TikTok too! @mollypelletier.rd
You made me so emotional. Literally crying. I thought I`m exaggerating my struggle, but it`s real! & you helped me understand that my anxiety is connected to the acid reflux. I did not link those two at all. Thank you so much for such a beautifully put research & for sharing your journey. Thank you for sharing with us the things that doctors don`t talk about
Omg this is sooo helpful! I only ever experienced heartburn when I was pregnant which was 22 years ago but now it seems to be daily for the last 6months. Definitely have the feeling of something stuck in my throat. The specialist can’t get me in for 2 months! I am already trying some of the things you mentioned and it does help but I need to try more bc it’s pretty constant. I am wondering about apple cider vinegar, tried it in the past and it seemed to help. Also, I do intermittent fasting to try to shed about 15lbs, it hasn’t been super effective for me yet and I definitely don’t want to exacerbate the acid reflux. I was a caregiver for my mom for many years and it was extremely stressful and now I am dealing with grief from her passing, which I think contributes to the stress. I will definitely watch more videos and implement some of your strategies, thank you for this information. ❤
I’m so sorry for your loss 🤍 wishing you all the best. I hope the information I share here and on all my platforms help you! More free resources here linktr.ee/mollypelletier
You are amazing! I have suffered for several years with LPR. I Thought I was the only one on this island by myself. Thank you so much for taking the time to educate us.
I have been diagnosed with gastritis. I think that maybe GERD, my stomach lining, is inflamed. I know I will heal myself. The human body and mind are amazing. I'm so glad your video popped up first. ❤
I’ve had gerd for many years. I am on a fixed income and wish I could afford the cost of your program, but I cannot. I do appreciate the information you provided for free and will see what I can do. Thank you!
I had quite painful swallowing pain for EVERY swallow, yawn, blow (spitting toothpaste, blowing up balloon) for about 3-4 months, then on/off for about 9 months. Only just getting better with help from PPIs, smaller meals, less meat and more vege, no more coffee, no alcohol, minimal chocolate, minimal tomato or acidic foods, more mindful eating, raised my bed, losing weight and exercising, stength and yoga training. This reflux has made me change my whole life. It's made me look at my health so much more. But i wish I never had it. Still have painful chest pains for days straight. Endoscopy, laryngoscopy, MRI, CT scan, thyroid ultrasound, blood tests, etc - nothing found.
You can try this national remedies 1 tea spoon of black ⚫️ seeds in the glass of water at night and add 1 table spoon of Cumin seeds And 1 table spoon of Chia seeds Cover the class And in the morning an empty stomach drink this water And have your breakfast after 20 minutes Do this for at least 1 week you will see the difference
U are so damn accurate about the health anxiety.. googling symptoms and all😓 am in that phase.. i have gerd and my anxiety is on another level completely.
I can honestly say mine was triggered from all the stress and anger my teenager causes me. I started a few days ago and it doesn’t go away 😢 but gives me hope to know it’s possible to heal 🙏
Very uplifting story thank you for sharing I’m suffering from Gerd and sibo tried many diets and supplements it’s draining financially and physically, you give me hope I will be better one day . I’m so worried if it gets worse or change it to something bad I don’t want to say it 😞
I literally cried, when you said Pain in the rib cage. I have had acid reflux for 5 to 6 years now, and rib cage pain was on and off. doctors said this seems unusual and they couldn't diagnose why it happens. voila !! now i have the answer. I wish i heal completely from reflux so as you did .
You are literally me , everything you said word by word is what I’m going through it really resonated with me the most when you started to talk about health anxiety
Great video , i had Reflux every night for 2 years in my 60s , could not see a reason for it no different change in my diet , probably least stressful life style of my life at that timr so could not see any reason other than perhaps getting older ? Dont really do doctors. Tried antacids , laying on my left side etc but no use . So i researched it and found that antacids just mask thr problem and did not address the excess acid. Found it was caused by hi- pylori in your gut and then looked to see what destroyed hi- pylori. Well Sulforaphane kills it but where do we get that from. Cruciferous veg has it with broccoli the most however when we cook broccoli it destroys the enzyme Myrosinase that releases it when torn or bitten. It is in effect its own built in pesticide hence farmers dont have to spray the broccoli crop as much. Young broccoli has 100x the amount of mature broccoli. So i first just tried a couple of raw florets of broccoliv with just ac luke warm water rinse and found it helped that night . So looked into growing broccoli sprouts in a jar over just 5 days , plenty of videos out there and bingo no more acid reflux in last 4 years i eat it as a salad ( looks like cress) never ever cook it. Found also that sulforaphane has a incredible effect on our immune system and fights just about any ailment you google including Cancer and the cytokine storm in covid. Amazing stuff. I now make a jar full about every two to 3 weeks sometimes a month just to keep it up . Only had reflux on Christmas night after cheese cake but thats to be expected. Should point out i have bev. so im not realy a normal person as such . Main thing in broccoli sprouting is to remember to keep jar out of direct sunlight as you dont want it warming the jar or you will create conditions for ecoli . But basically a table spoon of seeds soaked over night on day zero Then rinse out through meshed lid in morning of day one and leave lid down to drain in a bowl at an angle rinse again in evening , repeat over next 4 days harvesting on evening of day 5 . Sometimes i have it with tuna in a sandwich . Other people have it as a water based smoothie .
Thanks for such vital information but having a battle with what to eat as I was a good eater although not fat and has lost a lot of weight because of now bad eating habits and stress which I'm trying my best to overcome.
There's a lot of TH-cam videos out there from medical doctors saying apple cider vinegar before a meal helps with GERD even eliminating it. I will be trying that with my brother.
If apple cider vinegar is too strong for you, just eat red apple fruits instead. It is equally effective. Eat red apples for a few days to get rid of acid reflux.
I have a hiatal hernia 3cm with gerd and lpr. Have heartburn and throat pain/burning daily since 5 years. I have tried everything. I took several ppis which didn't help. I tried numerous supplements. I am going to call up surgery soon. I dont want to suffer with this no longer
Just wondering if you have tried manual adjustment? Doesn't have to be by chiropractor, you can do it by yourself. My symptoms improved after I did one manual adjustment (I did it to myself). I may need to fortify by strengthening my back muscles and diaphragm. I also find chewing your foods to mush helps with the reflux. That's not to say I dont have it still, but it improved slightly
I have hiatal hernia as well. I have been taking slippery elm and marshmallow root which helps a lot but I still need to take gaviscon advance, I still have flare ups where nothing works some days.
@@RandomPerson-yc4vmhello, am 32 i got gerd when i was 29 since then i have blurps and throat pain,i take care of food what i ate but 3months ago i started eating junk food like crazy now its been week since i have crazy throat pain acid taste in mouth sore throat, i know i fked things with junk food but was tempted didint eat it for 3years, do you have any advice should i be worryed for my throat or its common with ppl who have gerd?
Sometimes in health people need hope and encouragement even more than information. Without it, all the medical information is useless. This is why I loved your video, you personally went through it and beat it. Its personal and encouraging. That's the kind of thing people starve for when they face challenges ❤❤
I was having a lot of these issues and tend to have it off n on. Especially when I ate crappy foods. I started eating raw garlic and it all went away! It’s got a burn but it was the only thing that really worked for me aside from medication. I couldn’t afford dr visits.
I’m gonna share my experience. My experience is that ozempic 2 mg no matter where I inject myself, upsets my gerd and esophagus really badly. Also, recently I had a heart attack like three weeks ago and I was not on ozempic as I had taken a break. But my heart attack symptoms had similar symptoms of gerd. The difference was my left arm pain was fierce. If my left arm had not hurt I wouldn’t have gone to the emergency room. I actually drove myself and I had a feeling they were going to send me home with having gerd. And my stress was super high too of course. lol. But I actually had the chest pain that I thought was esophagus acid reflex issues. And even I threw up right after having chest pains. So yeah stay safe everyone. But yeah I’m on a research drug right now that I’m not allowed to take Prilosec which is what helped me in the past. So I’m trying to find ways to help myself better naturally without messing up my research drug testing. The drug is for working with blood thinners to help with coagulation. Good info you share thank you.
I check off every box. Always on the go, eating lunch in the car and eating dinner at 9:30 at night and having no set regulated schedule because I'm always working. Always stressing. Only time I didn't experience my acid reflux was when I got to go out of town for a few days and didn't have to deal with as much of the day-to-day stress.
I am doing everything to try to get help for my daughter with this. She was first taken to hospital and diagnosed at 2 months old so at that time stress wasn't the issue. Now it does come up more with anxiety but the anxiety mostly comes from the stress of the acid reflux. Now headaches and dizziness are also taking over her life and causing more anxiety for more reflux. The cycle is difficult and the doctors are not helpful :(
I got GERD from taking paxil. I tried lots of things but ended up on omeprazole for decades. Now I have kidney disease and I suspect it is from the omeprazole. I am going back to trying out natural remedies until I have the answer. I am going off of the omeprazole gradually.
Omeprazole reduces your stomach acid… EXACTLY what you don’t want. Acid reflux is the result of too little stomach acid! Try taking digestive enzymes before you eat and cut out ALL processed food.
I have a hiatal hernia so it makes GERD difficult to “heal”. However I’ve been able to reduce meds (I switched from a PPI (omeprazole) to a H2 blocker (famotidine), which is a little better. I went to low inflammation diet, clean Whole Foods, avoid tomato sauce, onions, peppers, spicy foods, citrus (I can drink lemon water) and eat lots of yogurt. I also take a B vitamin and magnesium supplements since any kind of acid control will prevent your digestive system from properly absorbing nutrients. I have tried many times to wean off all meds but GERD flares up. I have Barrett’s esophagus so the risk of famotidine is worth trying to prevent throat cancer.
Its crazy to think about it. I feel like I have had low B12 levels all my life because even as a kid I would get canker sores all the time and the only thing that would help me heal fast was Vitamin B complex. I probably have and have always had a Vitamin B12 deficency. Thank you. Thank you so much. People close to me do not understand what I am going through which adds more stress but I will work to change my mindset. Thanks.
Thank you, I started with severe reflux about four months ago. I am really struggling with it. Your video has given me some hope. I will look for your app and keen to book a 1 to 1.
I have IBS and probably GERD, unfortunately also have OCD and chronic anxiety, over the last two months my stomach is rejecting everything, trying low FODMAP, even avoiding food stacking, I forgot what means eating tasty foods... you do have a point about stress and non digesting correctly... problem is as much as I try to reduce my stress and anxiety due to OCD, it's always there, doesn't seem to be a solution out there.. and with university I don't even the time to eat at the right time, to do meal prep, with what anyway? everything hurts
Thank you, Molly. You explained things in a detailed way that my doctors never have. So comforting to find someone who was a fellow sufferer and is an expert on the subject. So happy I stumbled on your channel.
Wow I feel like I actually have hope 😭 I was looking at the acid watchers diet and it is sooo limiting and the thought of it was making feel super down. I’m going to go through all your content asap! Thank you!
So glad I found your channel, I think i’ve always had reflux but around a week ago I had it severely all of a sudden, for a whole week, esomeprazole wasn’t helping alongside antacids, I went to the doctor who has booked me in for an endoscopy but I slowed down, started eating better and now I’m surviving on the odd antacid - my heartburn’s disappeared! I genuinely thought that was it for a moment, that i’d be on PPI’s for life. I’ll definitely be following this channel closely for the foreseeable 😊
@@cindyleastorch194so as a follow up to my original comment, my Dr said my bloods and stool test were fine, and gave me an acid reflux diet sheet (which i’d already googled two weeks prior and had already started doing). It’s quite a bland diet initially, low fat everything, no caffeine, fizzy drinks, tomatoes or spicy foods. I replaced milk with oat milk as that was a big trigger at the time. It turns out I had mild gastritis; some of my symptoms came back when I took antacids instead of alginates too so I think I have low stomach acid possibly caused my forever anxious state.
@@cindyleastorch194 I followed an acid reflux (low fat, anti-inflammatory) diet given to me by my GP. Turns out i had gastritis which I am very luckily over now!

You will improve and heal slowly with a non inflammatory diet
It good to take medication, but we can’t take medication for ever
I healed once
Then some recently I was prescribed antibiotics for parainfluenza and got me back to zero
Today I am on my fifth day taking Famotidine, I am supposed to take it for a month, I am back to my non inflammatory diet, try to eat everything natural, can food and highly processed foods will irritate your stomach lining.
I give up.
@@DanielFiorello-gz9cx the main factor for acid reflux is coffee. Lay off of coffee for 2 weeks and see a difference.

I guess we cant remove this condition completely as we are bound to change our routines due to work, family and lifestyle commitments but we are more prepared to deal with it when things go bad and rise above it : )
Hello...when you say aftermath of flu sickness .. does it occur everytime you have flu
Great list of potential lifestyle changes. Also, I have heard good things about betaine hcl (from Dr. Berg), glad to hear that you use it and it works.

Papaya and aloe vera juice once you wake up cures gastritis and reflux.drink it daily
How are you know with betaine HCL?
Win more souls for JESUS🙏❤️🙏
There’s a little test you can do where you have 1/4 tsp bicarb soda in 1/2 cup water and if you take 3-5 mins to burp, it’s likely low acid
Thanks! This is very helpful. I've been thinking about using Betaine HCL
The bicarbonate test isn’t always a true test. There are times when you just have to take the HCL. To see how you react.

If you have acid reflux, eat red apples for a few days to get rid of it. It really works.
If you're still suffering from acid reflux, you may try eating red apple fruits for a few days to neutralize and get rid of it.
Too much liquid; who would have thought it triggers my acid reflux... You are so right! I don't look forward to ingesting anything anymore...😢
It really can be a big trigger! I hope you find relief!
You're basically diluting your stomach's pH, then your stomach has to increase acid production just to catch up. If there's not enough acid or pH is too high this can cause the lower esophageal sphincter to not close properly.... Or so they say, seems to make sense
@@CoryHobbs2178i have acid reflux throat pain sore throat and gerd what should i do?

Hello Maam, Im from the Philippines and just diagnosed last May 2024 and at last I finally found a content who checked the marks I observed with GERD. This is Beautiful, God bless you - God bless us with our journey regardless our beliefs. Listening to you is like a warm hug from a mom.
so glad you found my page!! welcome!!
Sana ay magaling ka. Kung hindi pa. Subukan mong kumain ng pulang mansanas na prutas ng ilan araw Iyan ang nakagamot sa akin at sa misis ko. Red apple delicious at Fuji ang ginamit namin.
How are you po? From Philippines also
I went to the GI doctor for months, they said I had GERD and just not to eat these foods, I did this strictly and it still didn’t help, they put me on strong meds which took way my GERD but within a week I started to get painful stabbing symptoms in my liver area, went back to the doctor and they did more tests, my GI doctor said “oh no that wouldn’t be the new meds causing that” then after many tests she said “well I don’t think I can do anything for you sooo”
I stopped using the meds, and boom that pain in my liver area that would cause me to gasp and hunch over, was gone.

Ugh! Finally I found Your page, Because that's What I've been feeling Right Now! Acid Reflux, It's so Challenging For me, I'm Feeling Scared everytime, Scared Of lossing, Death and etc . Everything Was on My Mind! thank you !
that’s exactly how I feel 😭!! Hopefully this video helps
👍🏾👍🏾☺️☺️

Sounds like you have low stomach acid. Drink 1 tbsp of Apple cider vinegar in a glass of water before you eat. Do not eat processed foods and reduce/cut out sugar. Also, take digestive enzymes before you eat.
How do you know she has low stomach acid??@@annalane5430
apple cider vinegar increases the phd in the stomach which allows the upper stomach close the right way so acids stay in the stomach plus water according to your weight

Hopefully you already got rid of acid reflux. If not, you may try eating red apple fruits for a few days to neutralize and get rid of the problem.

Omg this is sooo helpful! I only ever experienced heartburn when I was pregnant which was 22 years ago but now it seems to be daily for the last 6months.
Good tips
Thanks for such vital information but having a battle with what to eat as I was a good eater although not fat and has lost a lot of weight because of now bad eating habits and stress which I'm trying my best to overcome.
Thanks you so much where do you buy sprouts broccoli seeds please
I think stress is major cause of gerd. If we manage stress doing activities that realease stress our body started to heal
But I'm stressed because of gerd.
There's a lot of TH-cam videos out there from medical doctors saying apple cider vinegar before a meal helps with GERD even eliminating it. I will be trying that with my brother.
How much? One tablespoon before a meal?
About 2 spoons mixed with water, like half to one cup of water@@javo10ful

If apple cider vinegar is too strong for you, just eat red apple fruits instead. It is equally effective. Eat red apples for a few days to get rid of acid reflux.

Dairy can be a trigger, which is what happens to me.
I’ve trying to figure out what was happening to me. It’s gerd!! I’ve never had gut issues before and never heard of this. Thank you!!
I prop my bed up under the mattress at the head end, just a bit and no more problems
The cycle is difficult and the doctors are not helpful :(
Same. Just saw my medical bills 34.000 and plan will cover most of it. I been having severe anxiety and depression caused but this 😢

Omeprazole reduces your stomach acid… EXACTLY what you don’t want. Acid reflux is the result of too little stomach acid! Try taking digestive enzymes before you eat and cut out ALL processed food.
It’s not the food but eating low FODMAP is key and all the tips you’ve given
AMAZING INFORMATION!!! Im SO excited to start practicing these tips!!! Going to download Flora right now woohoo!!!🙌😄Thank you so much Molly!!❤❤❤
Thanks.
Great advice! What did you take for LPR? You said you took capsules but then changed to a powder. Which brand did you buy?
Thank you, I started with severe reflux about four months ago. I am really struggling with it. Your video has given me some hope. I will look for your app and keen to book a 1 to 1.
Hi Waheed! So glad you found my page. More info on the app and our 1:1 sessions here! linktr.ee/mollypelletier
Hi, I appreciate the video did you ever experience, excessive, coughing and phlegm?
Thank you!
Hi Molly, thank you very much for sharing your healing knowledge. Would your method to heal GERD be ok to follow for erosive gastritis? ❤
How much Vitamin B12, D and Iron should you have?
If u are suffering with GERD .U Can take 1 clove after.eating food if u feels ur stomach is tight or bloating.
This is very motivating and encouraging. Thank you for your testimonial. I intend to look at your other videos. 🙂
Awesome! Thank you! 😊
What does eating better mean(in this case)? More of what? Less of what? Any other suggestions you can think of? Thx
@@cindyleastorch194Reply please
Eat healthy don't skip meals. Getting your healthy fats from fish etc. Avoid foods that you think are triggers to a flare up.
@@cindyleastorch194 I followed an acid reflux (low fat, anti-inflammatory) diet given to me by my GP. Avoided alcohol and caffeine completely; herbal teas only especially ginger/tumeric and chamomile. Healthy fats only. PPI’s and antacids didn’t work for me, I stuck with alginates. Turns out i had gastritis which I am very luckily over now!
this is a fabulous video, thank you so much! ive tried so many things like you have, but what you recommend sounds like a good path to get on. one question tho, if you wouldnt mind--when do you take the slippery elm bark before meals or after? ive heard both ways, but what helped you? thanks!
Cleared mine with ACV, mine was so bad i had to use a puffer because it was so inflamed, symptom free for 14 months,
How please?
