Yes I have stuffy nose always taking allergy pills. I had my GB taken out 3/17/20. I have had horrible pain ever since been to 5 GI. They have me deloxitine and now a PPI 20. I hope some day I can get over this. They call my condition dypepesia. I take l-glutamine vitamin D magnesium G, fiber pills and acidophilus.
Dr.Park, there is one more very important element to this equation. I had acid reflux for most of my life. I was put on a proton inhibitor called Losec and I continued taking it for years. However, I am now much healthier finding intermittent fasting to help and a better diet, but by accident I discovered something so very simple. My covid challenge, back when a lot of us were isolating in our homes, was to learn a new culture and language. I chose Korean. With it came the Korean eating style. I discovered Kimchi. I had tried many probiotics to help my acid reflux but none worked. I did not know when I first tried Kimchi that it was a probiotic. What I noticed was that my acid reflux was diminished. I ate Kimchi every day, without taking my Losec, for a week and I had no acid reflux anymore. It's been 11 months since my discovery of Kimchi, and that it is a live fermented probiotic and extremely helpful with acid reflux. I now make my own batches of Kimchi and I eat it every day. Perhaps discuss how active probiotics can neutral stomach acid and return it to its natural balance. Thank you for all your hard work to help us. 🙏🌹
@@youlknowmyname I believe it is the Kimchi. Before I discovered Kimchi, I normally ate a lot of cabbage. Fresh cabbage is always in my fridge and I consume it at least 5 out of 7 days per week, cooked or raw in salads. Perhaps it doesn't work as a probiotic/acid diminisher for everyone, it works for me. I just made a new batch of Kimchi yesterday. 🌹

Steven, thanks for this excellent video. I do feel worse in the morning when I am awoken with a blocked nose. (6" raised mattress food 4-5 hours before sleep) I have found an excellent 'magnetic' nasal dilator called 'Air Intake'(American product) which are FAR superior to disposable stick - on nasal strips. We are both fit, slim, and avoid trigger foods, onions, garlic, alcohol, sauces, chocolate, etc. Both of us suffer from strong inflammation (burning sensation) of the throat with some mild to moderate ear and sinus discomfort. We have both undergone 2 endoscopies and Bravo tests which revealed no, or only 2% reflux. I suspect that pepsin, or acid, is being released in aerosol form from a slightly compromised sphincter - a bit like a leaking tap where the washer looks intact but has a very tiny imperfection. We have had to greatly adjust our lifestyle, hardly eating out and changing our food choices.

Yes, I do have breathing problems and reflux issues that have sort of gone together. I always thought they were disconnected but your video is making me see that they have all been part of the same set of issues (I believe).
GERD also has a lot to do with intra-abdominal pressure. If someone is trying to inhale or holding their breath when the body needs to exhale, then the pressure will just force the contents of the stomach back up the esophagus in order to make the room that it needs. But doctors won't tell you this, of course.

I was told by an ENT that using fluticasone in combination with Afrin will help unstuff your nose + you won't get addicted to the Afrin (which would happen when used alone). I have been doing this for over a month and haven't noticed any stuffiness during the day. Per my fitbit my deep sleep has increased.
It sounds like you're on the verge of being addicted. Afrin is not meant to be used for more than a few days. Since you're already on the Fluticasone, talk to your doctor about stopping Afrin. If you have rebound nasal congestion, then there are other ways to wean you off Afrin. Ultimately, it sounds like you'll need to see an ENT to address your stuffy nose. Good luck!
Everything you say is really quite interesting. But there’s one pattern I have noticed that really bothers me in many videos about acid reflux. All done by men. They say don’t wear tight clothing. Women more often than not have to wear bras. Yes they are somewhat tight and it’s a problem, but you have to wear it to fit into society and to feel like you look your best. Nobody ever says anything about that and it’s always men giving these videos on acid reflux. I have found some women, but in general, it bothers me when they do not mention how to handle it. And yes, I do have acid reflux and I’ve been working on it a long time. I’m trying to fix it and I also have sleep apnea and that’s hard to fix too because I can’t deal with the CPAP. And the mouth appliance gave me jaw pain, And I’m slim. And I don’t drink wine and I don’t do any of the things I’m not supposed to. Anyway, I just had to vent a bit not so much at you, but all the videos by men who never talk about the difficulty of wearing a bra when you have acid reflux. Otherwise, thank you very much for all your very wise comments and I have purchased your book and I look forward to reading it and getting some help because today I’m exhausted. Thank you.
Thank you so much for responding to this. I really appreciate it. So do you mean apple cider vinegar and if so, how much in the water and how much water? And so how exactly does that help? So in other words, you undo your bra. Yes I can do that but it means I have to take off everything and then fix it when I have to put it back together. How did you get these tips and how does it help you and for how long?
If you have reflux start using HCl betaine 1500mg a day split in two doses with a meal. Mix 750mg in water and drink twice a day sfter a meal. Fixed all my issues in 2 months

Hi Doctor Steven You seem to be very knowledgeable person, I have a question if you kindly guide me in this respect. 4 years ago I talked to my ENT specialist about a small lump on my neck. He did biopsy and ultra sound and told me he wasn't sure what it was but it's about 4 cm ad not benign. 2 years later he did again ultra sound and didn't tell me anything about it, now he sent me again for ultra sound and told me the nodules on my thyroid are growing and it is now 5 cm and must be removed immediately since it may be cancerous. At this time I asked him so many questions like: why he wasn't sure what it was 4 years ago. why he said it is not canserous. Why he didn't suggest any medication over the years and now he wants to perform surgery right away????? Well I told him I need some time to think about it because, I don't feel any problem with breathing, eating and speaking and what happens if after the surgery it goes other way around? I shal appreciate your reply.

Thanks for your comment. What you're describing is most likely acid reflux, which can reach this sinuses. Even if you take anti-acid medications, stomach juices can still reach the sinuses (and ears and lungs), which still contain other major irritants, such as pepsin, a digestive enzyme.

Yes, I can’t breath without my mouth open. 😢
For me, removal of wheat products significantly improved my acid reflux situation.
Woow..thats great.
Good on you.
You can treat acid reflux by eating red apple delicious. Try it for a few days. It works.
I have had acid reflux for a number of years and I have tried everything than have been manufactured for it. The things I found that worked are digestive enzymes and probiotics. Ofcourse I did the other things such as raising my bed head, no late dinners and avoiding all acid inducing foods. The only thing that I don't know how to control is stress. Do you have any suggestions for stress control? Thank you.
Hi......ur post stood out to me as stress is my biggest challenge as well after decades of trying to figure out what I was doing wrong. Turns out that my husband is a narcissist. I don't know if what ur stress comes from but I now know where mine comes from.
Try typing in ur stress on here or Google and just c what comes up. That's how I learned about 6 yrs ago. See if u can do searches on what's happening in ur life because when u know, ur better able to address it in many ways.
Just wanted to c if I could help. Hope u find some help with whats causing it. Good luck. 👍🏻
Thanks for your great reply. Only recently did I appreciate how important stress and emotional disturbances are to total mental and physical wellness. After I read the book, The Body Keeps The Score by van der Kolk, I have a new perspective on these issues. I also saw some dramatic changes in life outlook and stress levels after seeing what my wife as a life coach is seeing in her clients.
@doctorstevenpark I recently tried stomach enzymes that also contained betaine HCL and it is working well on my acid reflux. It took about 3 to 4 days before it began working, but once my body adjusted to it, I got relief. I am also taking probiotics and ginger. Thank you Dr. Park.
Fascinating and comprehensively explained Dr. Park. Thank you!
Eat organic extra virgin olive oils in the morning on empty stomach or eat with foods help stomach problems
Great video!!! I lack Vitamin B12 ig that could be one of the root cause
I was going to hit the "save" button, and I accidentally hit the "report" button! It was an accident! Dear TH-cam, undo! Dear Dr. Park, I hope I didn't cause any trouble! It's a great video, thanks!
I hate when that happens. I've done it on other videos.
@@susanlee8609 Thank you for letting me know it's not just me! 🤪
Yes stuffy nose and tonsil issues also.
Thank you 🙏 for this valuable information
Yes, I do have breathing problems and reflux issues that have sort of gone together. I always thought they were disconnected but your video is making me see that they have all been part of the same set of issues (I believe).
GERD also has a lot to do with intra-abdominal pressure. If someone is trying to inhale or holding their breath when the body needs to exhale, then the pressure will just force the contents of the stomach back up the esophagus in order to make the room that it needs. But doctors won't tell you this, of course.
@@cinnamongirl3070So how do you fix this?
@@bruhhh._.150 Inhale during trunk extension, exhale during trunk flexion. You want to work with your diaphragm, not fight against it. Look up diaphragmic movement. Tons of videos on TH-cam. Practice breathing exercises so this way of breathing becomes a habit.

Great informations! Thank you very much for your time and expertise.
My pleasure!
@@doctorstevenpark I have Gerd, Acid reflux, Erosion Esophagus, Low Stomach Acid and
Hiatal Hernia . I am concerned for all of these , but the 2 that worries me the most , would be
Acid reflux and 100% Erosion Esophagus , I don't want it to become Barrett's Disease .
I have an appt in 3 days to see what my "EGD" results are , doctor took biopsy .
I know you are busy doctor , but my splinter or Les . I just want a normal life, haven't had it in
3 1/2 years. I been on youtube trying to figure out , how to heal everything , and you were
the only person who given me solid answer. Thank you for everything you have done for myself and everyone else. It becomes stress when you are spending hours or years, to figure out , how to heal.
Good luck!
@@doctorstevenparkwhat do you suggest for stuffy nose? And if we clear up acid reflux or LPR will it not fix stuffy nose?
Thank you doctor, I am very grateful to you ❤
Woah!!! Thank you SOOOO MUCH for the information given!
Yes, i do have acid reflux and stuffy nose
Treat acid reflux by eating red apples. Try it for a few days and you will see positive results. It works.
I do have stuffy nose, chronic cough, overweight …. Occasional cough now by taking Omeprazole
this was very good
Thank you doctor, for your informative video
Hello from South Africa xxx
Thank you.
Yes , wearing a bra is very challenging . Whenever I need to relax , I lossen my bra, drink water with vinegar , eat soda crackers and 1/2 banana .
Brilliant. Concise
Thankyou for the information, Doctor.
Thank you!

Having acid reflux and stuffy nose at the same time.
To cure acid reflux, try eating red apple delicious or Fuji apples for a few days. That 's what my wife and I used to treat acid reflux and the problem never came back.
Dr Park, whenever I get a sore throat and heartburn it is followed by hiccups - any explanations why ?
Hi Doctor Steven
You seem to be very knowledgeable person, I have a question if you kindly guide me in this respect.
I use Bulgarian yogurt. Sleep on 10” incline. Done.
I have both, sinusitis and acid reflux. And I easily get a sore throat from sweets.
Thank you Doc! 🔥⚡💥👊👍💪!
My reflux started after taking Ulprufen and medication for UTI .
For acid reflux, try eating red apple delicious or Fuji apples for a few days and problem solved. That's what my wife and I used to treat acid reflux and the problem never came back.
Yes I have acid reflux which is causing me difficult times sleeping, and stomach swelling. Constant patios as well. I've taken Omeprazole and gas tables but my stomach condition is still not working better for me. Currently, I'm on warm water for little relief.
HCl betaine will fix stomach acid. Don't use PPis they will do the opposite and worsen symptoms
Try adding a tablespoon per cup of warm water,
I have acid reflux which I got recently after being vaccinated and having Covid. I do not have a stuffy nose. It comes and goes and at this point I have not taken any medications.
Have suffered from GERD since childhood!
How do you treat them?

Hi, yes I have gerd and a plugged nose! I’ve for years tried sinus medicine thinking I had sinus infection! My family Dr would give me antibiotics but it didn’t help the burn in my nose, throat mouth tongue! 🤷♀️ Anything you would suggest is worth trying the medication I’m taking Pantoprazole! Thx from 🇨🇦💜
Thanks for your comment. What you're describing is most likely acid reflux, which can reach this sinuses. Even if you take anti-acid medications, stomach juices can still reach the sinuses (and ears and lungs), which still contain other major irritants, such as pepsin, a digestive enzyme.
I do have a constantly congested nose and acid reflux. Interesting
I find it humorous that TH-cam would lead off this video with an antacid commercial.
Disgusting of them to do this!
Thank you
I have both. Thanks for your videos. I have been suffering from both sleep apnea and stuffy nose right before bed. I did get a nose procedure to correct a deviated septum and has made it better. I have tried using my CPAP but can't seem to breathe outwards without issue. I Amy going to read your book and hope it helps. Yes these issues have taken a serious toll on me but thanks for your videos. I also have reflux issues as well.

Diagnosed with apnea 20 years ago, but CPAP didn't work. Recently discovered that using O2 concentrator at night dries out my sinuses and improves breathing and reduces apnea O2 drops
My only symptom is minor throat pain thats it, i did an at home Viome stool test which showed my bile acid production isn’t optimal and also my hydrogen sulfide
My worst pain when I walk is in my throat but does not feel like acid more like squeezing pressure
I have COPD, stuffy nose and reflux. I’ve been on PPI for over 15 years. I’m trying wean off of PPI. Not easy.
Same, I hate docs just recommendint PPI to me at 18!
I am currently on PPI , but I decided to stop for a week now .I just changed my life style .no more sugar or fried food for me .& I excise .I realised everytime when I come back from excise my pain reduced .
Eat red apples for a few days to neutralize hyper acidity in the stomach and treat acid reflux. It works.
Fix stomach acid with HCl betaine for 1-2 months. That is a permanent fix
@@jonssu0000 it seems to me that there are two types of reflux. People complain of burning. I and others have the throat clearing annoyance. I tried HCL. i had heartburn for the first time ever. Dr Aviv’s technique helped me. I cut out coffee, alcohol, tomatoes, raw onions for a few weeks. My throat annoying reflux has gone. I’ve stopped PPI. I have one coffee a day and a beer not everyday.
I do get stuffy noise at night..and acid reflux. Im so tire in the morning
I do have Rhinitis and apnea! now acid reflux...
Along with all that you said, would betaine hcl help?
Yes!!
