Sten Ekberg is quite right to describe these bad foods as dangerous. I suffered with debilitating joint pains, gout, high blood pressure and skin tags amongst other symptoms which eventually disappeared or reduced when I started Keto/carnivore diet. Eating a lifetime of high carbs, sugar and starch has I think caused some irreversible damage to my body which cannot be reversed.

I was raised on grains and carbs, got addicted and carried the habit throughout my life. I was diagnosed with NA fatty liver disease and liver cysts by age of 50, and pretty sure the problem started at my 30s. Year ago I stopped consuming all grains, and went a "dirty" carnivore, and what an improvement. I had a CT scan for unrelated issues, and report showed one cyst, and no mention of fatty liver, twice.
    GRAINS ARE DANGEROUS.

Most "ice creams" in the grocery store contain little to no cream and lots of vegetable oil. Some contain so little cream that if you let it melt, you have a disgusting, yellowish liquid. When I want ice cream, I make my own ice cream with cream, egg yolks, Allulose, and a little vanilla. It takes time and effort but it is so satiating, I am happy with it as an occasional treat.

I had to buy a walking stick. This happened over a 4 MTH period. When I clued in it was the crumpets and I stopped eating them I had more mobility but there was still pain in my knee. In the last 3wks I came down with some type of cold. (Not COVID I tested for 5 days in a row). I was bed bound for 2 wks the 3 wk I did Dr Bozs sardine fast. (72hrs only sardines). During the fast I got my knee back. Good as new. Last year I didn't suffer any pain or illness all year.

I think Dr Westman needs to do more research on seed oils. They appear to be more DANGEROUS than sugar, and they are everywhere. I think 'dangerous' is a legitimate description. Dr Westman also thinks Maltodextrin in LMNT is no big deal. However, LMNT is a sponsor of his videos.

My bloodwork was back into healthy range. A few days ago I ate bread and it was horrible. Marie, I felt much better after eliminating refined carbs and sugar also. They were giving me inflammation. When I quit then fibromyalgia joint aches left and autoimmune reactions and pain in the gut subsided. I found out I have celiac disease and stay away from wheat and gluten. If I accidentally eat gluten, then I get sick and fatigued for 2 days. There is hidden wheat in many products, so I read labels carefully!

I consider it dangerous (in the long run) as well, but a little exaggeration to light a fire under people’s butts and get them on the right track is not just harmless, but necessary. The dangers may not be imminent, but they are pernicious. A lifetime of bad eating habits can shorten a human lifetime many years, even for someone who cleans up their habits later in life.
Fried foods should be fine when fried in tallow or lard.
"Breakfast is the most important meal of the day" was a marketing slogan for the Kellogg company. It doesn't say why it is so important or for whom. In fact, it's very important to the company because that's when they sell product.
Species of animals that routinely eat fruits have a high tolerance to alcohol. Some even get enough alcohol in their regular diet and metabolize it so easily that it may be considered a fourth macro-nutrient. In humans alcohol is a toxin. This is more evidence that humans should be eating a meat-based diet with little or no plants.

Nowadays my go to meal is 5 eggs with 1/2kg of beef liver. Here beef liver is priced the same as oats & rice, 1kg is less than $2. You get around 1050 calories and 140 gramms of protein. It's vitamin and mineral content is underrated.

I hate touting kitchen gadgets but there is one that helped me with cravings.. Ninja Cremi. It makes ice cream backwards by pulverizing ice crystals rather than preventing their formation as with traditional ice cream. This allows me to make smooth frozen treats using the same stuff I eat anyway like protein powders, eggs, whipping cream, allulose, etc.
I learned too late about dangers of sugar and lost my teeth (don't get me started on my experiences with unaffordable Modern Dentistry) so my meals have to be on the soft side so the gadget really is useful along with pressure cookers and the like as I can no longer have a proper steak, chop, or fresh crunchy veggies anymore.
Too many sugar laden sodas did me in. Oddly enough, that topic was presented in a confused manner by Dr. Westman. Dr. Sten only got to say a few words on it before Dr. Eric went sideways about artificial sweeteners. While I can see his point, there was no proper lead-in and it cannot be stressed enough the danger of all the full sugar drinks my generation was practically raised on. Gallons of Mountain Dew a day. THAT'S what Dr. Sten wanted to get across.

1:26 1:29 I love Dr Westman he has saved lives over and over again at Duke University however he's dealing with people that are four five six hundred pounds that have no control and are completely addicted to certain foods I understand why he needs a nuanced to approach to get these people on the right track. In this instance I lean towards Dr Ekberg a little bit. First of all I do believe alcohol does get converted to sugar in your body. Having seen the epidemic proportions of obesity in my community here in Hawaii and amongst people that I know personally I agree in the strong wording of some of these topics as dangerous.... I don't think you can tell an addict that it's okay to have a little sugar the same way you wouldn't tell a heroin addict he can have a little heroin I guess artificial sweeteners are kind of the methadone of the drug like plant Foods I don't think Dr eckberg necessarily is seeking more money but more clicks is a way of helping more people and I believe the discipline approach is the only way to seriously help people in this way I have kept myself on the straight and narrow by labeling certain foods dangerous myself people have to look at themselves and reference to the words if everything is relative and say look in my condition eating refined grains is absolutely dangerous. In this regard I agree with Dr EK Bruce assessments

Unless Trump/RFK step in with executive change you can rest assured that the dietary guidelines will stay under the firm thumb of the food industry, thanks to lobbying. I have diabetes; when I eat meat, and dairy, my fasting morning blood sugar level is around 7, and healthy 5- 5.9 2 hours after eating. It takes piece of French bread to take me to 12 2hours after eating it. (And could be more as I don’t measure constantly) So there is that, I reckon even healthy person has spikes he doesn’t notice, and it damages his body over time.

I have found a lot of speakers defending their personal vices online, thanks for being careful to admit possible bias on alcohol, but as someone who still does not know what caused my hepatic steatosis, despite a lifetime of health no alcohol and no sweet food conscious eating, we can't assume we know the cause of this MAFLD epidemic, and as we also have many plausible explanations in the metabolism chains, we need to keep alcohol and fructose on the obvious bad list for liver and other metabolism syndrome patients. We know that fructose and alcohol can be causing liver issues, and I think we are missing other causes, too, but I would agree that alcohol and sugar are dangerous for anyone over 50, and we should not be playing so close to the cliff on that.

It is unfortunate that spirits are calorie laden, so careful out there friends🥂. Remember it's going to take more than giving up carbs to lose weight & it ain't going to be easy.
