      @@bobcatforever3485 that's how it should be, albeit, on a calm day, with same rifle throughout. Fine job overall. Very rare, shooters use every ammo they can find. Need to say, no two weapons are the same. Can't arbitrarily say what works well for one machine will work the same in another. Should do that for every rifle you have. Again, fine job. Thanks.

      Winchester 22lr last I knew was manufactured by CCI

      Stingers are a bit longer than other 22lr. Does not always work well in a semi auto.

    • @F15ElectricEagle
      @F15ElectricEagle 7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Same here. Out of the big 4 major U.S. brands (Remington, CCI, Federal and Winchester), Winchester usually gives the worst accuracy from any type of firearms and the least reliability in semi-auto firearms. This is from my over 30 years of shooting 22 LRs in 20 different type of firearms.

  • @tonyv8925
    @tonyv8925 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Here are some notes for you: #1 I have the exact same hat as you do...heheh, #2 You have wind drift on your shots, #3 Hyper velocity ammo seems to be inherently inaccurate and beats the heck out of your semi-auto receiver(not good) and lastly, in order to obtain a reasonable group per ammo type/brand, you need to shoot more than just 5 shots...season the barrel to that specific ammo. Still, I enjoyed your presentation. When I had my 1022, circa 1986, CCI Blazer and Aguila( ah-gee-la) Standard velocity were the most accurate in my specific rifle. A buddy of mine had a 1022 and it preferred Winchester Wildcat...go figure...lol

    • @bobcatforever3485
      @bobcatforever3485  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Tony. Thanks for viewing and for your comments. Gotta love the hat, you made a good choice. For sure the wind is often a problem when I go shooting, it tends to follow me wherever I go. Just two days ago I repeated this same shooting with a few different ammos and the hot ammos just don't group for me. Trying to do groups I prefer CCI Std Vel or Eley Club but was surprised by a couple of the other ammos. It will take me some time to edit all the video that I shot, but eventually a you tube video may show up. Thanks much again and take care.

    Don't know how I missed this one earlier.
    Now since I have pretty much the same ammo selection available to me I'll have to see how "my" 10/22 agrees or disagrees with yours. LOL
    That Winchester SuperSpeed was sure a surprise!

    Good job! I woould thiink a ten round shot group test would be a better percentage group test. But still a real good test. Thank-you! You give me some ideas! Question; did you clean the barrel between each series?

    • @bobcatforever3485
      @bobcatforever3485  ปีที่แล้ว

      S Schuppel. Thanks. I appreciate your viewing and commenting. I agree, 10-rounds would probably be a better test, get a bit more of a spread but would still be equal for all the ammos. I did not clean the gun during this test, so the later rounds came thru a dirtier gun. Also, I did not clean the gun at the start of the test. Thanks again and take care.

    Nice to see the bulk ammo did a good job. although it is not as cheap as it was five years ago. i usually go with thunderbolt and the bucket of 22 s only in the 500 bulk pack. today 325 would be considered bulk pack. federal also seems like a good choice.

      Kenny. Thanks for viewing and for your comment. I do shoot a lot of bulk ammo, but right now I'm shooting no ammo because of 10" of snow on the ground! lol I do buy some of the more expensive ammo at times for special videos. Right now, I'm trying to pick ammos the I have never shot before just to see how they run thru my .22's when I can go shooting again. I still have a fair amount of .22 bulk ammo that I got when it was $20 to $25 for 500 rounds (sometimes even less). Thanks again, take care and happy plinking!

    Found your video today and really enjoyed it. I have couple 10/22s and the latest one is from the Ruger Custom Shop. It tightens up the groups tremendously without spending a fortune on match ammo. My favorite is CCI Standard Velocity, Federal AutoMatch and Geco Bolt Action. It is a very nice gun for shooting and just plinking around. I'm no ammo expert, but I have in general had my best groups also using CCI Standard Velocity and also at time using ELEY Club. Most of the ammo I have been shooting is what I bought prior to things getting out of control. Thanks again and take care.

      @@bobcatforever3485 I also appreciate your effort here and am your brother in arms but have to mention that I've found better grouping (when I switch ammo type) by shooting 5-10 rounds of it through my rifle *before* I paper it, both to warm the barrel if cold, and to acclimate the barrel to each ammo's particular lube - I suppose - and I also toss out the flier by always firing 6 rounds and keeping the best 5 for a better representation of each ammo's true character.

Then will place a 1/2" washer over the center of the group and draw a line. I count any round hitting the line as a hit. Then assign a percentage to that ammo. ie.. 80, 70 60 %. I figure doing it this way is actually a 1" group.

    Good video! I've been shooting the CCI Blazer with my 10/22 at 100 yards with aperture sights for a while now, results of this test were exactly what I expected. Same with the Stingers, they ended up being less accurate like in the video. I first started shooting Remington and then Winchester bulk box jacketed hollow points but I got sick of finding bullets loose or cocked in their shells and they were also giving me a failure to feed at least once per mag with some bullets getting the jacket marred or scraped off by the mag feed lip. Stephanus, Thanks For Viewing. Also thanks for commenting. I agree, I almost always have at least one wild shot per group. Often on a five shot group I will measure just the best four and compare the groups like that. You probably already know this, but I tend to get the best groups when shooting subsonic ammo, like CCI Standard Velocity or other similar ammos. Thanks again and good luck with the search for the .22 LR setup. Take care.

Definitely worthwhile and we're appreciative of all the effort & money, but if you ever do some further editing on this I strongly suggest a comparison at the end so it's much easier to keep track of the results and refer back to as our memories start to fade. This is a worthwhile exercise for everyone with a .22LR. My Glenfield (Marlin) 75 likes CCI MiniMags, Rem. Hi-Speed (I think that's been replaced with the Golden Bullet), and Win. SuperX. It does best with target loads except Federal. It doesn't like any kind of Federals. It doesn't like Thunderbolt or Blazer, either. Hyper speed loads, like the Stinger, also don't shoot well. Maybe it's the short barrel. So, I mostly shoot MiniMags. Funny, it doesn't seem to care whether it's solids or hollow points.
    I am still trying to find what will shoot well from my Ruger American .22LR. Anybody have a suggestion?

      @bobcatforever3485  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Rodney, Thanks for viewing and commenting. I agree, 25 yards would seem to be about right in order to get any where near the bullseye without changing the scope settings. At ~700 fps compared to a CCI Std Vel round at ~1070 fps there was about a 6 inch drop for the CCI Quiet rounds at 50 yards. Plus I don't think the Quiet rounds will run thru most semi - auto rifles (probably will not cycle). Thanks again and take care.
