Heritage RR vs Ruger Wrangler 10Y Federal Champion Ammo
Just shooting some Cowboy guns at the indoor range from just 10Y. Comparing 3-Heritage Rought Riders with 1-Ruger Wrangler. A good number of the rounds out of Heritage key-holed thru the targets. My shooting was so so.

    This is like comparing apples and pears. As several have mentioned the revolver looses energy in the cylinder gap and the semi auto guns also loose energy. This test is only valid if you compare bolt action guns, or guns with the same mechanism, but with different barrel lengths.

      Thanks for taking a look and commenting. I agree that you are totally correct. But I also expect that the actual results were not too far off. Thanks again and take care. PS: The Heritage had a 0.007"-cylinder gap when it should be no more than ~0.004" or less which is at least part of the problem with it being on the slow side.

      Jay. Thanks for viewing and commenting. I think you are in the ballpark with those numbers. And I think you made a good choice with the Wrangler. In my last video about a week ago I shoot three Heritage Rough Rider and one Ruger Wrangler. (First, I am not a good shot, but I did shoot the RR a hair better than the Wrangler) but all three of my RR had some bullets keyhole thru the card stock target and the Wrangler rounds all went straight thru. Thanks again and take care.

    Well I have one of the original Wranglers. I think it's made better than the Heritage. But I have 13 of the Heritage including the carbine. I don't know why but I prefer the Heritage. I don't remember any keyholes. I haven't tried the Super Wrangler yet. I do have a couple of the Single-Six revolvers which are far better than the Heritage and Wrangler in my opinion. I always wanted to go to an indoor range and keep shooting someone else's target until I get kicked out or beat up lol.

      @bobcatforever3485 The super Wrangler is also steel framed, not Zamak. It comes with both the 22lr and 22wmr cylinders. Half of the revolver is identical to the single six and even has some interchangeable parts. Premium Gun Grips makes a lot of different grips for them also to spruce them up a little. I was planning on doing a few videos on mine this winter 😉 The adapter sounds cool 😎 I will have to look into that!

I'm not a good shot and even then, I was still able to put six rounds on an 8.5" x 11" sheet of paper at 10Y. If I was keeping one of those around as a bit of home defense, I would be loading them with either Mimi Mags or Velocitors that would hit a bit harder. Thanks again and have a great day. My Lyman has the new 2.0 at 5 lbs its way lighter then the previous model and it gets lighter as u shoot it, eventually it will probably drop to 4.75, for me the this light enough for edc and it drives tacks its very accurate. I had a spring kit installed in my sdve 1.0 which brought it down to just barely under 5.lbs and now it drives tacks. After the installing the apex spring kit in the 1.0 it made it equal to the 2.0. If u have the 1.0 I would just put the apex spring kit in it and not bother buying the 2.0. And if u don't have either gun and u want one then I would get the 2.0. Both are great guns, the 1.0 was praised by Barry Elliot as being a great pistol that was budget in cost and high in quality. I love these guns cus they point so well that they make me shoot the gun very accurate, to me they point like a 1911.

    Hello, what wood is "IPE"? OAK, BEECH OR EBONY WOOD???

    • @bobcatforever3485
      @bobcatforever3485 14 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Thanks for viewing and commenting. IPE is a Central and South American wood. It is a very heavy hard wood that is very weather resistant and expensive $$. • @airriflepower291

      @bobcatforever3485 The pieces of wood you ar hit are the outer part of the heart of the tree, which in Creece is called "ebony". In the center of the tree the ebony has a black color, the water of the wood or lines etc, it's straight and it's unbelievable crazy hard ! If you hit the heart of the tree the 9mm with 115grais bullet wouldn't even penetrate a 1.5cm piece of wood. It is very solid wood it cannot be drilled, it could just break from the impact, but drilling is not possible. I have some pieces from the heart of the tree, it is very heavy wood and very expensive ! It's definitely not worth ruining it by doing tests. Anyway, you make a great video !!! I also have a youtube channel where i do drilling tests on different woods, sheet metal, helmets etc, with a pcp air rifle 357-9mm with max energy 187fpe with 170grains hard mold slug that i made my self with pure lead and antimony for Hardness. I penetrated three pieces of oak wood 1.2cm each from 10yards distance. Ebony wood, hoever i do not knock. Thanks for the prompt reply. Greetings from Creece👋.

    That CVA is such a nice set up. I don't need one but want one. Would like one in several different calibers. But that's part of the fun wishing and window shopping. Scott. Thanks for viewing a commenting. Those CVA single shot are nice guns. I have the .350 Legend and the .44 Mag. I really wanted a .357 mag, but I think I'm done, too old to be spending a lot of money on guns that I don't have time to shoot. But like what you have said, it is still fun to dream about the next gun! Thanks again and have a great rest of the weekend.

    I'm glad you re-shot the CCI st vel from 50 rd box, that's what most of my club bullseye people use,very consistent, less recoil than high velocity ammo. Thanks for saying wind was blowing left to right, certainly shows on targets and how hyper velocity less affected even at 50 yards.

      John. Thanks for viewing and commenting. On that CCI SV that was a pretty big difference between the 100-round box and the 50-round box. I have a number of boxes of CCI SV in both 100 and 50 rounds, I'm thinking I need to shoot 10 -rounds from each box and find out which boxes I should save for shooting the challenge targets. (Probably in the Spring or Summer 2025). John thanks again I always appreciate your viewing and commenting.
