doctor i fractured my little finger of right hand a month ago.i had put plaster on it for 22 days. Now i can move it but it but i think its not normal like before . i mean the natural grip strength reflex. I want to have an appointment with you...
The palm of my left hand (dominant hand) is painful when I try to grip something. For example, when I try to lift a coffee mug the pain is sharp and my hand almost collapses because of the pain. The pain is in the palm and lower edge of my hand. Got any exercises or explanation for this? Thx
Question. Cut my index finger very badly, roughly around 3/4 of an inch up from bottom of finger, needed stitches, 4, , 3.5 weeks out now, cut is almost fully healed, skin needs to heal further. But finger is still never sore if I put any pressure on it, and it's still swollen, plus I can't bend it freely, full range of motion is not there, can't make a fist, that index finger would be impossible to complete a fist with. What are your thoughts, it was never xrayed, but they did test full motion of every part before stitching it up. Is it just a case of time, as it was a deep cut, or should it be healed by now.
I've had the same with my my middle finger (deep cut from tip to palm), and even though the internal structures were intact (except for a nerve), I still had to do exercises to get my motion back. Swelling was bad, even now after two months, swelling can interfere with my joint mobility (which is normal according to my doctor). Joints can stiffen up pretty quickly if you don't use them, and if you went through the same process as me, the wound and those stitches have kept the finger from moving for a while. I am seeing a hand physiotherapist, I strongly suggest you see one too! Exercises are everything! Good luck ❤
@@iNanieke Cool, guess it will take time, 4 weeks since cut , and only now do I see the bruising starting, still swollen, but slightly less than last week
@@isaackent2355 Yes it took a lot more time than I thought it would.. but apparently that's normal. 4 weeks is nothing! If you have a lot of swelling you can use Coban to wrap the finger at night. I'll also link another video of her, one that I keep using for doing exercises, it's just a 3 minute routine so very convenient! Edit : my link got deleted. The video is called: Tendon glide exercises for stiff Fingers (it's from 3 years ago).
It looks like a wad of my husband’s socks could be a (temporary) alternative to putty. I’m hoping these exercises would be good to help combat the stiffening from Dupuytren’s that I think I got from a fall I had when my blood pressure went too low.
Thank you I had Trapezium surgery 5 weeks ago fingers and grip painful so hopefully your exercises will help me.

Yes you could use rolled up socks for the grip and pinching and even a rubber band for the donut extension exercise.👍
