Thank you so much! My middle finger on my left hand is very painful and locked up in the morning and at times during the day. X-ray shows nothing wrong so Dr is no help! I will try your therapy!
Thank you for your advice, as usual it is very informative and very practical. Cheers. I wish my glass of vino helped arthritis!!!! Helen from Croatia 😂
At 82 yrs I don't have finger arthritis, but I do squeeze a hand exercise ball in both hands every morning. It has helped me to open jar lids. I will be adding your joint stretches daily. Thanks for video! Actually have bought your book, but haven't cracked it open yet. Looks kind of imposing it's so thick. 😀
Great work, it's important to be able to get those jars open! I'm pleased to hear you'll be adding these to your routine. Thank you so much for ordering my book - I know there's a lot of information packed in, but it's broken down into small sections which are hopefully more easily consumable!
Thank you Will. Your exercises are so simple and explanation so cear that it is a joy to follow you. I caught your video at the right time when my hands are feeling a little tired at the end of the day. Thank you once again for helping out oldies like me I am 72 yrs old and follow most of your wonderful exercises. God bless you.
Thank you so much for your kind comment, it's great to know you've find value in my videos. I'm so pleased this video came at the right time for you, I hope it proves beneficial.
I would like to know as well. I've been going to hand therapy for my trigger finger for several months. They've done ultrasound therapy, hand exercises but my finger still gets locked in place at times. I really don't want to get an injection. So anything will help.
Hello Will, WOW. This is great because our focus is always on the other body parts and neglecting the hands. Thank you so much for this video. Just yesterday I was experiencing pain in my left hand and trying this exercises may be what I needed. 😊❤.
At age 84, I've started having some strength and mobility issues in my hands just in the past couple of years. In addition to these exercises I hope I can get myself to play keyboard music regularly again, and possibly also classical guitar -- both neglected over the past decade. I imagine musical-instrument playing helps preserve flexibility and strength both. Also, the exercises you show here are greatly appreciated!
Bless You for this video! I am 73 with bad arthritis in my hands. Your exercises are awesome and I have begun to feel better already after using your suggestions. Thank You so much. And greetings from an expat in Thailand.
Thank you. Extra thank you for. "If it causes pain avoid them" I have a different type of arthritis Enthesitis But increasing/restoring strength will definitely help.
I have arthritis in my hands and most of these exercises are new to me. I was exercising along with your demonstration and will continue to work at it. Hopefully, I'll see improvement in my hands in the future! Thanks Will!
Wow, Will! What a thorough set of exercises for the hand. Years of knitting have really taken their toll, especially on the thumb joint, and I look forward to giving these a try, as I'm not anxious for injections or surgery in this part of the body. Thank you so much for this video. I have more than a few friends that I will share it with as well!
Great video, Will! Especially love the rubber band extension which I've been doing almost 25 years as they sent and Workman's Compensation representative to all of us in my research office unit who spent a lot of our workdays at a computer keyboard, and this along with wrist cirles were recommended to avoid getting Carpal Tunnel Syndrome, and it worked for me! 👍
I started hand arthritis at 40, and 20 years ago the gp just recommended alkaline diet. We've come a long way since then, and these are great exercises. I further the pincer exercise by moving my thumb down the joints of each finger to further extend the thumb.
My hands really hurt and simple tasks are getting difficult. Peeling vegetables, pulling up socks, etc. These exercises are helping. Thanks you for posting them.
Thanks Will. Best tips I have across. Few things more Annoying and debilitating than arthritis in finger joints of your dominant hand. Great that you can do what you suggest without special equipment or cost and even while watching TV.
You are good doctor good Friendly adviser You are careing elders Closely We inspired a lot Following your advise I relieved from pains Thanks a lot God bless you
I have arthritis mostly in my right hand, in between doing sets of exercises with light dumbbells, I’ve been doing some of these things, I will add in the others. Thanks!
The winter takes a toll on one's hands, I always wear leather gloves when driving as my hands get cold. These are great exercises Will thank you. Could you do a video to strengthen the wrists and elbows please?❤
Hanks for sharing skills. I tried hot water before this but just used a dip method.now I have the skill. I'd like free tip news on Fridays but could not find check in box.
I like the videos. And it’would be really helpful if you did a short recap at the end of each so we could see the sequence. That would help me understand the principle (e.g., strength vs mobility) and be able to do thee excises without needing to refer to my notes. Thank you
Will, this was on time. Constantly do these workouts. I will add the towel. Finding that movement is the key to stay away from arthritis. Thanks for your help. 😊😊😊
Excellent - I sew, lots of cutting, pinching and smoothing fabric. Often get cramp in my fingers. I think these exercises will help me a lot. Thank you
Very good video for my arthritic hands! I am already doing some very similar exercises to maintain my flexibility and strength, but the last one is not one I have done. I will add it to my routine. Thank you so much for all you do!
Thank you so much, Will, for the simple exercises in your videos. I'm 57 years old, and I was wondering-are there any therapies that can completely cure gout? I've been avoiding all the foods that are bad for gout, but I still experience it, with pain in my joints almost every day.
Thank you so much for this helpful video. I have an annoying pain in my right middle finger and my left thumb. It started last summer now I do workouts daily and I’m using dumbells. Could it be the cause of holding dumbells? Some days it’s worse and other days not so much and I can lift the dumbells without feeling any pain. The excercises that you show in your video could be useful? Thank you Will. 👍😃
I have progressive hand arthritis and found these exercises to be useful. Common medical advice suggests only anti inflammatory drugs which I use sparingly. For several years, my left ring finger snaps or gets stuck when opening or closing hands. Several other fingers have started to do that. Will these exercises help with that? I plan to do these exercises to see if it helps. I like the bullet points descriptions on the video. Well done.
Thank you! I actually injured my thumb 3 months ago, where the thumb quickly caught the edge of a table and separated from the fingers. It got swollen and discoloured. Ever since, my thumb has given me pain. I’m unable to grip the back of my ukulele, and notice the pain when holding onto a rake and now a snow shovel…anything that involves applying pressure. I appreciate the exercises. Was able to do them with no problem, except for the elastic band one, which aggravated the thumb. Sorry for the long message. Do you think I need to get it assessed? 🤷🏼♀️
I get cortisone shots in about 4 fingers at one or both knuckles-almost exclusively in the winter but luckily I live in Southern California so have warm dry weather for 9 months a year. CBD ointment also helps.
Thank you for these exercises, which I will try. I have a swan's neck deformity in my baby finger that affects the mobility of my entire hand. Do you have any other exercises that help that?
Thank you for this! I have arthritis pain at the base of my thumbs so an occupation therapist gave me the 1st exercise using active mobilization, whereas yours use passive mobilization. I wonder what the difference is between the results of these 2 methods.
These are great videos thank you, I have osteoarthritis in my cmc joint of my thumb. Am 52. Xray shows right level of arthritis for my age but mri showed immense swelling in the area putting hand age at 70 in terms of pain and loss of grip/strength and function. This is due to hormone fluctuations of perimenopause. It has affected my whole body. Would These exercises help me at all? If I try the finger squeezes against the thumb I get a stinging pain. Thank you for these videos and for your time.
I have CMC arthritis as well. These exercises won't exactly help CMC, although they can certainly be done. I've found a soft brace made specifically for CMC to be most helpful.
Hi, love your videos. I have RA affecting all my joints, including my spine. If I did 10 reps of every exercise I've seen on your channel it would take me all day. Do you have any recommendations for general all round exercises that helps with mobility and strength throughout the body?
Hello Me.Will I love your videos.I have severe arthritis on my right side si joint, can please show some exercise for that so I don't have to take an injection.I do have somuch pain. Thanks kanak

Excellent Will. Yes, I did ask for this and these exercises fit the bill entirely. Thank you.
Very helpful. My issue is from a broken bone in metacarpal joint of the thumb in addition to stiffness with age. These should be helpful.
