3:22 That 1060 pricing is a bit misleading. While the Founder's Edition did indeed retail for $300, the MSRP for AIB cards was $250. IIRC, most decent AIB models were around $270-$280 near launch, and by the end of 2016 you could regularly find sales of $220-$240. It's important to have that context, because the RTX 2060 was a massive price hike in reality. It basically put the XX60 series in the same price class that the XX70 series used to occupy.

I joined the queue 30 minutes after launch and I just got mine a few days back.
It took them almost a month and a half to get 30 minutes into day 1 orders. Not trying to be a downer, just want to instill some realism into how bad the situation really is right now.
I don’t expect to get called for my 3060ti or 3070 spot I placed early January this generation.
Luckily there’s the step-up program that allows me to buy an upgrade to a 3060ti. Who knows how long that queue is though...

Should I pick 3060ti if the price difference between these two cards is around $150-$200?

I would love to get the ti but the 3060 might actually be available right now for a reasonable price. In my area I'm seeing ~390 usd in stock locally whereas the ti is only available from resellers at 600 to 1300 usd lmao.

  • @francis771

There needs to be at least about a 100 usd gap between the 3060 and ti variant to make the 3060 be the better buy.
Of course as both cards' prices increase the gap also has to increase

I've had my gtx 1060 since my brother gave me it which was like 3 years ago, and when I had enough money I've bought a 3060 eagle oc and it is a massive upgrade from the older card. I am not planning to buy a GPU rn but I am waiting for the rx 7000 series because I am hearing that they are more powerful than the rtx 4000 series cards, So I am looking out for any changes.

@@3rd.world.eliteAJ I can honestly say that MSRP line is untrue, all the cards that are available to purchase here in south africa are 2.5x the MSRP ($750 after conversions) where with my 1060, I actually paid near MSRP 4 years ago. To me, the 3060 is a really shit card in comparison to the 3060ti that actually launched at a lower price but hasnt been in stock since January. This whole ordeal has put me off of buying a Nvidia GPU entirely.

I test btf5 very low 1080p, with gtx 1660ti i get 133-140fps. With the 3060 120fps both dx12. So ¿Why i get more fps with a less powerful card against the 3060? ¿Does the 5600x bottleneck the 3060?
