Jeff, When your lease is due on the Venza just make sure you order your Crown with the least amount of power! 340 hp and 400 ft of torque under your lead foot is a recipe

Limited for me….not a fan of the two tone….I think it has a market and it will do well. But I would like the option to not have the glass roof but the power of Platinum. But I have to agree it’s a nice looks care.

Thanks for the video. Somehow I felt like XLE is what I really need, but lack of full softex seat is a deal breaker. Felt like I have to get the Venza XLE now. But really want a nice looking roomy sedan. Come on Toyota! Please make crown XLE softex as an option
Your review is great and thank you for it!!! I'd prefer the Limited but admire the Platinum's drive mode choices and the full time AWD. I love the panoramic view choice but can't remember if it was optional on the Limited or Platinum or both. The only thing I'm left wondering about is the overall interior size in reference to legroom, headroom, etc. I wouldn't personally be interested in the bi tone but would probably like it on someone else's Crown.
I like the platinum but I’ll pass on the bi-tone paint. Giving the car a hood prop and manual steering adjust column is kind of cheap. Maybe Toyota figures that the car is so reliable that I’ll never lift the hood. I wish the interior would intrude in Lexus territory a bit more because it looks a bit too minimalist. I might consider this car if Toyota makes enough of them so I don’t have to wait 9 months to get it and if the dealers don’t add a ridiculous market adjustment.
Agreed Rocket Man, no heads up display either...even for Platinum and no rain sensing wipers. Venza LTD is better equipped
9 months!? Dang….I was considering the limited trim since the other is way my budget but the big bit!!! Is the mark up that could be raise this puppy like around mmmm $100k 😂
You can find dealers that aren't doing the market adjustment BS. Car sales are slowing now, not because people don't want cars, but because they've had enough.
All three are great. I like a soft ride and I don’t need all the power the Platinum has. Maybe go with the Limited.
for all of you thinking that 21 inch wheels are cool. Let me give you a little reality. Check: those short wheels make potholes a lot more noticeable. Significantly more whereas taller wheels absorb much better.
does the regular xle have the jbl sound system? does it come standard on all trim levels? i love the color on the limited.

Problem with lots of glossy black is it looks great for the first 30 minutes after you take it through the car wash and then it looks like you need to take it through the car wash again. I've owned 3 Camrys in a row, put 400,000 miles on them, only thing I don't like is I do outdoor stuff on weekends and would like a bit more ground clearance, Venza makes so much more sense for me. Maybe they will come out with a version of the Crown that sits a bit higher. But of the Crowns I like the Limited in white, it's a good color for Florida. Though moonroof not of much use for most of the year.
RAV4 take a beating and has more room. 125mph top speed in the base model.

I don't know enough about the Toyota CVT transmissions. How is their durability. CVT's scare me.

I know everyone does not like leather but softex seats w/ memory should come standard on the XLE. At least offer the option to upgrade to the softex package like on the Venza XLE. And the flagship sedan gets a pop rod?? Come on Toyota 😂😂

it's interesting that the xle rear camera doesn't have the washer nozzle.
I'll have to wait until the hood struts and heads up display are included.
I remember seeing the original Crowns when living in NZ. The tail lights always looked cool. These new ones are nice looing at profile not sure about big feux grill. XLE to me has all the options most would like, so for me XLE is my choice.
Where can I test drive this car. I want to purchase one but I need to see how I fits into the car.
None of my dealers in Kentucky Bowling Green have it.
I like the Limited best but not a fan of that front grill.
Finally a trim level with ventilated seats and seat memory but no sunroof! Hooray! Ok, will seriously consider this despite rather having a v6.

Jeff, James Brown himself would be impressed 7:58 by your uuhhhs! I will take the lower price and excellent fuel economy of the 'base' Hybrid system as well as the smoother ride provided by the smaller rims on the XLE. 😉 Did I mention the extra headroom provided by the absence of a moon roof? 🤔

I bought PLATINUM metalic Grey as the metalic shifts color in daylight. I also bought platinum because gas is at $2.81 gallon and we preferred to have power and luxury similar to the Lexus 500h.

If anyone is thinking of buying a crown. The limited is a way better bang for your buck. The limited gets almost double the gas mileage and is about $5k cheaper. Trust me, you wont regret. I really wanted the bronze bi-tone buts just not worth it at the end of the day.
I wish the platinum had the rearview digital camera. Thats the only thing im unsire of. I love your reviews by the way!
I would pick the Limited either in the red or heavy metal.
A "fixed" Moonroof that adds cost, complexity and reduces interior headroom without being able to open for fresh air... come on Toyota!

Venza all day in my opinion. I love my 22 Venza! Offers better ground clearance, will probably be cheaper, and I’m averaging 44 MPG

@@toronado455 you're right. Now I'm looking at the base model. Cloth seats look good forever and 38mpg > 28mpg. I wonder if I could pop out the 6 crappy speakers and put in some expensive Focal speakers or something similar

The Platinum's wheels are too damn big. I'd want to downsize to 19" to reduce weight, improve ride quality, range and 0 to 60.

I like the gloss, hybrid max. I don’t like the two tone color look. If I am going to spend that kind of money on a vehicle, I’d like the front and rear parking sensors. 21 inch wheels are nice.
The Platinum is my only choice as I will NOT do a CVT. Manual or a full automatic is the only way choice for me. Wish it came as a slicktop though!

Kinda bummed by the trunk. I have a Corolla and I feel like I can fit more in that since there’s nothing taking up space when I put the seats down in the back.

toyota has upped its game big time in recent years. the crown hybrid max and the newly redesigned sequoia are on my possibles list. very different models yes, but they both are flat-out unique
when it will hit the market ??? all Toyota dealerships in NJ already trying to RIP OFF on Hybrid and EV from $5000 to $20K, I was fan of toyota since my first corolla 2003, 2012 and camry Hybrid 2012, RAV Hybrid 2021 - And now I went with VW ID4 because all toytoa dealerships in NJ trying to rip off and I hate it, might be end of Toyota era, because ID4 is way way way better than my Rav Hybrid 2021

I’m deciding between this,the new Camry redesign or the new Rav 4.
RAV4 is faster and roomier and has enough ground clearance to crawl under. 27mpg mixed. 22 city with hills and idling. A base model LE was available for under $27xxx. Steel wheels. Made in Japan.

I miss the days when buying a premium priced vehicle meant you got a real choice of up to 20 colors outside and at least a half dozen inside. People are less demanding these days and would rather have more electronic toys.
In japan they have the crossover trim

I like the Oxygen White, but will get it in the Platinum. I love the front end, but I'm hoping in next years to come they will change the back end. It's really the only thing I don't like about this car.
