The noise while in reverse is called the “pedestrians be aware” sound. It lets other pedestrians know that the vehicle is moving (It isn’t a malfunction). Without the noise it might be difficult of others to hear the vehicle moving at low speeds when in EV or battery mode.

340HP in a 2.4 turbo is extremely impressive.

I believe the engine itself makes around 280hp, supplemented by a 60hp electric motor.

@@ALMX5DP The base engine also has a battery?

@@MeliorIlle I believe all trims are a hybrid of some sort. Base engine is the 2.5 NA paired with a less powerful electric motor.

@@ALMX5DP Ah, I thought base was just turbo engine.

@@MeliorIlle Yes they are all hybrids. 340 is with gasoline and electric motor combined.

So I reviewed the dark grey color with same color dark grey wheels, looks amazing with this combo I think. This was great to see two side by side.

I like the Crown but I think that it is AT LEAST $10,000 overpriced !

Your paying for the hybrid technology, plus the Toyota nameplate. Unfortunately this ridiculousness is far from over.

You could probably say that about every car on sale today. Lol

Not a particular fan over the overall styling and design but looks like a pretty nice vehicle overall.

I would disagree checkout the grey body with grey wheels.

@@futureofcarstube I think the only one I've quite liked so far is the model modified by Tom's (aside from the black wheels). It's lower with different fender moldings, bumpers and has a subtle wing. Standard car just lacks some definition and angularity in my mind (not to mention appears to ride too high with too large of rolling stock).

It's a lot of money for a 4 cylinder engine car.

    • @jayray274
      @jayray274 ปีที่แล้ว +1

They are all 4cyl hybrids, regardless of trim.

This was what Toyota thought was an acceptable replacement for the Avalon? I own a 2019 Avalon Limited. The Crown is not comparable in any way. The interior of the Avalon is better appointed and the smoothness of that 3.5L v6 w/ 8 spd auto, is incredible. I suspect this was once again done to satisfy fleet government EPA emissions requirements. The least they could do is to better insulate the cabin from the whiny 4-cylinder engine noise. If Toyota thought that they would get younger drivers to purchase one of these, they forgot to shrink the price along with the car. This was by far one of the dumbest moves Toyota has ever made.

Maybe you should test drive first before judging. 🧐

Disagree, the Crown is better in every aspect. This is a beautiful car, the Avalon, not so much.

This is better than the Avalon in every metric powertrain all wheel drive far more quiet and way faster I would take this any day. Now I know some people like to justify their car but trust me this is way nicer in every way.
