Pikmin has had several enemies that Nintendo cut from the final game, meaning that they never saw the light of day again. This video will be covering all of Pikmin's lost enemies - เกม
The excellent thumbnail for this video was drawn by Memelord. Follow them here: twitter.com/LiteMemeland
thanks mr memeland very cool
Based
Your voice reminds me of another content creator King of Luck, maybe its just me. The only difference King of luck is a lot louder
Pikmin tree 💀
4:17 Hey Man don't scare me!
The burrowing snarrow is so baffling, I thought it was just a mistranslation quirk but no, they CLEARLY want us to know they exist, so where the hell are they? Like they even claimed that the snavians are one of the most diverse after grub dogs too, it's so weird.
And they bring it up in every single game. It's been over 20 years and we still don't know what this thing looks like
It’s almost like an inside joke at Nintendo
There IS a Version of the burrowing snarrow in Pikmin 251 for some closure ON the piklopedia entry ON the snagret in Pikmin 2
@e2011ugdia who knows? Maybe they will FINALLY bring it in pikmin 5.
Man because they kept talking about it in later versions I always thought the one in Pikmin 1 was the Burrowing Snarrow with a smooth body that drops pellets and later versions were the Burrowing Snagret with a scaly body that doesn't entirely disintegrate. I'll never make that mistake again
Weird that the Watery Blowhog is "unused" in Pikmin 3 because it actually does show up and functions perfectly fine, but it's easily forgotten since it's only in the Formidable Oak and turns into golden goo to dissapear like all other enemies during the Plasm Wraith chase segment. But to be fair it also shows up in a couple Mission Mode stages
Anyways congrats on becoming my new favorite channel Mr. Volatile Dweevil man
I'm sorry mr jiggles the dweevil man has demoted you to my second favourite channel
P
It also shows up in Bingo Battle!
I think he was referring specifically to enemies that use Pikmin 2 models, so it's an early version of the Watery Blowhog.
Out of all of these I’m surprised no one got the idea to just have a Worm as a enemy
Pikmin 3 boss?
@@VirtuousFox that doesn’t count
Female sheargrub, TRY AGAIN
@garrymorgan2341 sheargrubs are like microscopic short slugs not worms
Worms are small and long so technically you incorrect
@@garrymorgan2341 you are wrong, those are slugs not worms, you try again
The burrowing snarrow is constantly mentioned to bait us, even in Pikmin 4, so it basically is the Herobroine of Pikmin (if you know you know)
Herobroine? XD
(seems you made a typo)
Every patch of Pikmin 4 must now include “-Removed Burrowing Snarrow.”
usuba may have indeed been intended to spawn the smokey prog, its form seems underdeveloped and fetal, so its possible it would have served as a sort of "stage one" to the smokey prog, popping out and flailing around do to just coming out of an egg, before morphing into a more mosntrous form of the smokey prog, or possibly replacing the egg entirely , as antlions are known to hunt via traps, thus this form serves to lure you in and think its easy prey till its true form is revealed
4:09 Life imitates Art
nice, funnily a lot of these unused enemies have been repurposed or restored in other hacks. 1^2 for example uses Iwagens, Pikmin S beta whiptongues, etc.
Though, to correct an inaccuracy at 10:43, the image used here is NOT what Iwadama looks like in the game files. This is the Models Resource rip, where whoever made it manually replaced the textures with Beady Long Legs original textures. Iwadama is instead a blue color with a pink top. There is footage of a partially working Iwadama somewhere as well I think
shout out to the inevitable “babe wake up!” comment happening in two minutes
Hah! U were off by a few minutes!
It's always cool to see people discuss the unused stuff in Hey! Pikmin--I was one of the main people digging in the files for that game digging for unused content. You could honestly make an entire video alone just on the stuff in Hey! Pikmin's enemies since there is SO much.
i have a theory that the valley of repose was originally intended to have a 4th cave like the awakening wood and the perplexing pool, with the fiery bulblax as the boss, but it got cut somewhere during development. this could explain both why the fiery bulblax got repurposed as a regular enemy and why the frontier cavern is the only cave in the game to have two upgrades, with this additional one having been intended for the cut cave
That would explain random rocket fist in random mamuta in frontier cavern
It makes sense. The only other creatures with the name bulblax are bosses. Though, it makes me wonder if the fiery bulblax was supposed to do more than just act like a normal bulborb
that thing breaks the game 1:42 💀
4:06 The lost media gag continuing was goofy and all but i dont see anyone talking about how the background music gets noticably lower when he talks about it
Spooked me a bit lol
It legit caught me off guard ;-;
i think it's worth noting that the old flighty joustmite has a pure white body, which makes me think of the cloaking burrow-nit, an enemy the joustmites pretty much replaced in terms of functionality. maybe joustmites were originally meant to look a lot more like burrow-nits (or even WERE just straight up burrow-nits) and then the design changed?
Very good video! I never actually see people talking about unused content on pikmin so this video was actually pretty interesting
I was just watching this video to remind myself of some enemies but you found info about more enemies than I knew before! Thanks for that
I can see why bait berries and it’s enemies were cut. Why would you lure out enemies you wouldn’t have to fight otherwise in a survival scenario?
I like the idea of the bubble blowhog tbh I think it's a clever recolor
I wonder if the burrowing snagrits counter part is a snagrit without fethers that can take damage everywhere but has more health
2:39 actually the only female Shearwig to ever appear was in Hey Pikmin and it was a Boss and the Queen to the colony
Though that one was also considered a different species that behaves almost nothing like standard shearwigs. Even the males act differently.
3:30 GOOD GRIEF, HE'S NAKED!
very nice to see someone who doesn't immediately hate on hey pikmin and actually does a full list of games
I LOVE YOUR VIDEOS SO MUCH!!
4:17 that yell made my soul fly into the multiverse
This was a great video. I hope it gets 100k plus views
I have a weird theory personally: The life on pnf-404 like bulborbs and such are common animals on every other planet, because Olimar doesn't seem particularly surprised by them, and it also makes sense why Olimar can compare them to creatures we don't see.
It would also make sense to why Louie knows how to cook them, and why Olimar says "recent research" or something along those lines to the entries, like the dwarf bulborb. At least, that's my take on it.
Ayyyy he’s back i thought you were dead
We need hole blocker in pikmin 5
Could it be said these are ..
LOSTMEDIA
The Luigi legit jumpscared me lmao
Kakureimo and "Black twerking tonguewhip bulborb" are my favorite unused demons from the pikmin franchise.
I learned more Pikmin 3 cut content today, Jesus that game really needed all the help it could get
The full list of unused treasures are: A disc of Pikmin, a disc of Mario Sunshine, a disc of Wind Waker, a disc of Luigi’s Mansion, and the complete works of William Shakespeare.
The Luigi jumpsacare actually scared me 😂
Aw man Maltigi disc and hole blocker were deep cuts gonna need them in Hey! Pikmin 2 with amiibos 😱.
In all seriousness amazing video there were so many facts I'd never seen before and I'm very shocked at how many enemies were cut in Hey! Pikmin. Absolutely love the content and thanks for the good stuff.
Super Mario 3d World music in a Pikmin video? This might the the best video of 2024 already
finally a pikmin unused cintent video that has it ALL
I am now gonna called the yellow bulborb Bumblebeeborb
A two year development cycle is only short when compared to the rest of the Pikmin games. A new Pikmin probably always took long because I suspect they used to be low priority passion projects, they were the lowest selling of the major Nintendo IPs until Pikmin 4 did respectable numbers. A hastily made game can be filled to the brim with prototype material because the developers don’t have time to finish what they want to include and safely wipe out the unused data.
0:08 Eborb? E must stand for "elusive" because I have never seen one.
Stuffed Bellbloom gang here, unironically one of my favourite designs.
Also the sound effect it makes when it jumps is so whimsical.
5:16 I guess this was what they were going to use before they settled on the Makiwi for this enemy archetype
I always wanted to see what the burrowing snarrow as a kid.
So for the last two enemies you mentioned the game crashes with pikmin try to pick up the corpse. Weren't winged pikmin the only ones who could actually bring it back to the onion?
Babe, wake up!
can't wait for pikmin 4 deluxe on the switch pro so we can get some more info like with pikmin 3
actuily the buriko can allso appere as white in some areas (probebly depends on area lighting?) and also acts more like a male varriant of the swarming sheargrubs with how it scuttles around in circles verry quickly, but instead of leeching on fruits to grow bigger it grabs onto the backs of bulborbs to act as a shield for the borb and for its own protection, i think it can be knocked off with bombrocks tho
I’ve always thought that’s it been a missed opportunity to include an electric-eel like enemy/boss
finaly LOST MEDIA
iirc the iwadima dose have a few animations in the game files allthough no one has uploaded them anywhere, also it has 2 other varriants one where it is tinted purple and one where it is tinted pink (kinda reminds me of the groovy longlegs...) also it is likeley an early version of the Quaggled Mireclops, where you need to attack its legs and then once its head falls you attack that, especialy the attack of the mireclops smashing its head into the ground makes me think that the iwadima is an early version of it
yeah they're lost media
I really wish we had one more area before the final boss in Pikmin 3 this game really feels like a whole part of the game is missing
The face of that wing pikmin face is just so hilarious with the way it look
There was an enemy that appears in pikmin 2, but doesn’t have anything on the internet to make any details. It, er, they, are used in the last area, to give late players a huge boost, giving loads of ultra spicy spray and the other.
Have you ever tried typing On google ujadani?
Wow. I didn’t know there were so many enemies that were LOST MEDI-
*Luigi.Exe scream intensifies*
6:32 It more resembles one of those phosbat pouches or something. Maybe originally they wanted phosbats.
Awesome!
Louie ate them to extinction
Lots of the ideas from the files look great and I actually wish they could have finished them
But Some on the other hand... What???
It's funny to me how that one cropped image of Usuba in T-pose has basically the definitive picture of it. It makes sense, being on TCRF.
It’s interesting that a Luigi mansion disk was gonna be in a game since Luigi mansion has a Pikmin 1 trailer with beta footage.
Pikman Tree my favorite game
Tbf, Inlove the snootwackers
nice vid!
Puffmin should have returned.
I just hope the Hole Blocker makes it into Smash Bros. some day...
Why the hell does LOST MEDIA get me every single time
Because it’s funny
Ngl i would love to see some scrapped enemies being brought back in Pikmin 5
I love pikmin tree deluxe
i imagine that Pikmin 4 actually had 2 iterations
i bet before the one we got, there was another version that possibly ran on a unique engine instead of unreal engine 4
Good vid
7:52 pikmin tree
Interesting 👍
4:13 LOST MED-
I think the iwadoma (sorry if i pronounced that wrong) could've been a early version of the quaggled mireclops
10:17 Yeah, “Blue”
Holy thumbnail, batman
"Pikmin tree" lmao
Can the Water Blowhogs be counted as unused since they were (admittedly only twice) used in Pikmin 3’s final level
I'm guessing the the wierd shaped beady long legs probably became the Quaggled Mireclops, but that's just a theory
Sometimes he says three and sometimes tree?.
I feel like fiery Bulblax would be the “boss” of emergence cave, like it makes sense to throw them in there as all you got are red pikmins
I actually would like it more if they used them as a mini boss much like snagret in awakening woods and valley of repost. So yeah makes sense to give boss icon
"Block the hole, hole blocker"
I am pretty sure the hermit crabmad IS in Pikmin 3 (although you could just be referring to the Pikmin 2 version in 3)
7:38 i completely respect your opinion, just say it again...
Creative media lost to the tides of time 🎩
10:22 Fucking based, that shit made me so irrationally angry. 'HERES A BOSS BATTLE but its just the same enemy but BIGGER 😱😱😱😱'.
0:32 good point, they probably restarted from scratch
Scratch only allows 2D games.
i wonder what that guy who drew the thumbnail is doing right now...
And lore but we don’t talk about that
2:53 2 years seems pretty standard-to-long for a dev cycle back then, maybe just less-so for Nintendo.
Its crazy to think that the hole blocker didn’t make it into pikmin 4 either
Does anyone know any good Godzilla vids to watch?
Maltigi for MK9!!
Fun fact: in pikmin 251 the burrowing snarrow appears
Great video but those enemy pronunciations gave me a small stroke.
For iwagen mabey the health was not put on rock yet
No one:
Absolutely no one:
Not a single soul:
Lost media: 4:16
Firey bublax were better off as a boss battle, due to its insane hp if i remember correctly
How hey Pikmin has this many unuses enimies
Is Holeblocker your favorite unused enemy?
ngl next game they should bring back the yellow and blue bulborbs
