Earthbound takes place in 199X whereas The whole Pikmin series is set long After the extinction of all Humans. And is roughly set around the Pangea Ultima theory. So even if they were the same universe, Everyone would be Long Dead by Pikmin 1.

@@shevrett2658 The game doesn't end until all 30 days pass or all pieces have been obtained, plus you can't skip to the sunset on the last day, so it's not really an option to skip the optional pieces for an optimal any % Speedrun
