Unfortunately you didn't talk about two very important things: 1, Do you have to start a new game to play it or can you play the DLC as a continuation after finishing the game 2, how much play time has the DLC to offer until its missions are finished?

I really do hope the level cap is raised more than the Gorgon DLC because 3 extra levels is kinda abysmal for how difficult a few encounters were.
Loved this game when it came out, but for some reason I soured on it as time went on. Couldn't really figure it out. This review made me want to jump back in though, looks super fun. Thanks for the review, hope you're well man!
I rarely sour on games. But I also feel that outer worlds I would not ever return to as a replayable title. I liked what I got well and this. But I get ya. I think I just lack any real time lately to return
For me its the fact I played it on Gamepass for a buck, and to play the DLCs Id now have to buy the base game on top of DLCs on Steam, with no idea if my gamepass save is even transferable. Not to mention if the saves even exist, as Gamepass sometimes keeps the saves in the games folder and deletes them without asking when uninstalling the game.
I have the same feeling about it for some reason. Thought it was fun at release but a bit overrated however really not worried about replaying it like I do many RPG’s
I had tons of fun the first couple of hours, but once the gameplay loop and the lackluster rpg systems became clear I quit playing.
I quit after a few hours, this game is just AA game sale for AAA 's price, everything is lacking

I grew up with my parents watching SG1, so going back and seeing James Spader and Kurt Russell in the original movie have always been the weird stand ins for me.
Stopped the video to come down here and say the same thing! I'm actually going through SG-1 now so it was funny to see the reference.

The game had issues at its current length. Making it 3x longer would have killed this game.
I still like the game, but things should have been improved.
@@Troll_vs. well even then this is normal. It came out at the end of 2019 with two planned expansions. The first releasing in 2020 so this one being now is kinda expected. Same with other games that have expansion passes (DLC and expansions are different, a well made DLC is still much smaller than a well made expansion. So a dlc pass being done in a year is normal. An expansion you’d expect about a year per expansion. The Witcher for example had a DLC and then expansion). I’m more surprised at the fact the last expansions was even classed as an expansion with how lacking it was compared to this

As always, amazing review! I didn’t play the Gorgon one, since I don’t own the game and played it on game pass when I had a subscription. But I’ve been wanting to buy the game for awhile, so maybe I’ll pick it up and play this too!
The FPS Boost for Series X/PS5 has helped this game ALOT

A Laced Odyssey
When does this get released for PS4? It reads “now available” at the main menu but I cannot find it in the PS store.
I had to go to the Obsidian website to find the link to the PS4 store for it (purchased on my PC but for the PS4).

I should retry this on my series x and my new TV because your footage of PC gameplay looks so much better than what I saw on my 1X. I know it doesn't work like that necessarily, but the new TV has had astounding improvements across all games for me. Its the VRR
Also you stated about halfway through your video that they added 60 FPS support to the series x I didn't know that either

Finally got to play the base game on game pass windows. Been meaning to get it, was just one of those games I knew I'd love and sure enough I'm tempted to get the DLC for it, but if I do that I feel like I should buy the game incase it goes off game pass.

NGL though, SG-1 is so good :P and I have the biggest crush on Michael Shanks (who played Daniel Jackson in SG-1)! ^.^
Does this DLC up the amount of weapons and armor variety? The main game seemed to get kind stale fast and to me that was a big reason why.
If I wasn't told this was from DLC and not the main game I'd never have guessed. Every area looks exactly the same in this game. All the outside is this mildly overgrown with alien plants look with random buildings and objects placed here and there. Same with the inside buildings. Nothing in the game is unique enough that you can, without looking at a sign or your map, tell which area you're in.
Could be because they didn’t have the money or were low on number of assets to use. Though I will say new Vegas looked pretty good for it’s time being that they had to reuse fallout 3 assets

i am happy to see this i always said fallout new vegas was my favorite fallout and i am satisfied that obsidian is still killing it i personally didn’t play outer worlds but loved everything i saw in gameplay after your review of this expansion i’ll be buying it today and for anybody interested on playstation the game + season pass is $59.99 until 3/31

What’s the playtime for this DLC? My biggest issue with OW was that it was too short/lacked content.

It's a bit of an inaccurate statement to make because the French hadn't won the Tour de France since the early 1980's whereas Lance Armstrong first won the Tour in 1998. The French are famous for not being able to win their own Tour. 😛

Been playing on 1440p max settings with 85% scaling on just an i5 10400 and a (pretty heavily overclocked) 1660 super. Locked at 60.

I been discovering that fps genre is good.
But the always pointing the weapon and the way objects are picked.
Breaks the immersion for me.

I've been playing the dlc and liking it but on ps4 there seems to be some sort of glitch where when i interact with a clue my characters are supposed to talk to each other but it doesnt work the cinematic doesnt play appropriately lol

I had a 10 gb update from Steam this morning for Outer Worlds and Im noticing a performance drop. It stutters for a good while now though it evens out after a few minutes. Ive really enjoyed Outer Worlds so far but I cant help but feel like there's something missing from the gameplay mechanics....grenades maybe? It would also be nice to loot enemies who are clearly wearing armor but have no armor in their inventory....stuff like that.
Bought the expansion pass couple of days ago and am making my way through Peril of Gorgon which I'm rather disappointed with so far, so I am happy to hear that this is better :)
DLC is really good but it has some issues on the Series X. I can't beat it because the last mission crashes whenever I save or it autosaves. Sucks because I was really enjoying it tbh..
When did the 60fps patch come to ps5? I downloaded the game a month or so ago, and it was running sub 30 so i backed off.
It was in the patch a couple days ago that got things ready for the new DLC. Haven't seen any confirmation yet that it's actually stable at 60 though.
I really need to get back into the base game. I started it and quickly dropped it. Maybe I'll pick up this DLC afterwards,

And that's why I haven't yet purchased this game, because I am waiting for the definitive edition, which almost all the time is much more affordable than the base game plus separate DLCs. At least in Mexico that is the case, and if you purchase the physical game, it's even cheaper!

Running at least 70-80fps at high settings with my 6 year old gaming Laptop with a 1070mq gpu :D
The Other Worlds was a very average game and the DLC's seem to share the same problem of mediocrity.
Is fallout 4 better?
@@Themountain6197 ya know I love the outer worlds but I actually am gonna say yes. Fallout 4 had me coming back for multiple playthroughs way more than Outer Worlds did, it's good and I like a lot of its content but because of its size it starts to feel repetitive after a couple playthroughs. Putting the massive availability for mods that fallout 4 has on top of that and it just was a better game overall imo.

Playing Outer Worlds during the early stages of the pandemic was a great way to cope with the stress and uncertainty. It really transported me, and the sense of exploration/humor brought me back to my childhood playing Fallout 3

Is there bullet drop in this game ?
I had a lot of fun with the base game, mainly because of the writing, humor, and characters. But the gameplay will always stop me from coming back. It severely lacks that "umph" factor and I'm still disappointed with the lack of new weaponry.
Main features this game lacked were rewards for exploration and maybe a radio station

I've never played the base game, I'm really really struggling since coronavirus hit to actually stick to a game longer than about 2 hours and then never played it again. But I'm really curious about it ,and I'm lucky enough to own a xbox series X just want somthing to hold my attention.

Only 200 medkits? That's a little lite. When I'm playing The Outer Worlds, I always have like 800+ because I'm always addicted to Adreno. 😆
@@andrewn8002 I finished the latest DLC and had 540 I think. And I loot every nook and cranny of the game, but I’ve never bought one though. I was just saying 200 from the top of my head. I also had 13000 gun ammo 😄
@@LordAsturgis Anytime I visit a vending machine I always check for Adreno. If it doesn't have Adreno, I don't want any of it! I don't mess around with that Auntie Cleo crap. 😆

I never finished the outer worlds because I goofed up my character and couldn't progress in the way I wanted to anymore 🤣
Now is a good time to return with the full DLC released and the 60 FPS patch!
Main quest was okay, started getting really boring and samey midway though, it also felt like it lacked some real depth in the game, unlike other games of this type.
I was very excited for the original core game but it played like crap on the one x. Unfortunately, frame instability gives me a headache and I had to stop playing.
