    Take me home, Outer Worlds! Obsidian's long-awaited The Outer Worlds is, quite frankly, everything I needed it to be. Rich, dense, brilliantly written, it's everything we've been missing in the wake of "live services" and other "AAA" trash.
    With its onslaught of satire and wonderful sense of progression, The Outer Worlds is the spiritual successor to Fallout: New Vegas folks have needed, and I'll go even further - it's way better!

    “They just made a video game and sold a video game!”
    Not to mention it wasn’t released in early access in some broken, unfinished state either, like Sea of Thieves. They just worked on the game until it was finished, THEN sold it. Can’t believe that’s such a rarity nowadays; the industry is fucked.

    • @docsnakeoil3555
      @docsnakeoil3555 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I'd argue that depending on how it's handled, early access makes games feel more alive. With Outer worlds, early access wasn't nessicary, but with other games like subnautica, it can make the game feel more personal. Kind of a case by case situation for me.

It’s important to note that they began this project as an indy studio and completed with a limited budget, nothing like that of the Fallout games. Rather you can pretty much do it all from the start, and can simply focus to get better.

Company used to be run well when engineers ran the company, but then lawyers and accountants stepped in. Eventually company assets were sold off and now that company is a shell of it's former self.
