Do single glute exercises. Single leg rdl and single leg hip thrusts.
Thank you so much for explaining this alternative, I have a bunch of workout equipment at home but I needed a dupe for this exercise. No smith machine but I am going to try this with a bar and pad and set some J-hooks at the right height and see if I can still duplicate. Wish me luck lol! I have been watching your channel for the past year and you have given me so much good advice that I have put to work!

I am curious about reverse hypers on smith machine, yes!
This might work better for me. I’m 5’9 and when I use our hyperextension machine and I use a weight I bend almost to the floor and have to hold the weight super close to me and it feels awkward trying to hold close a 50lb dumbbell-it takes my focus off glutes. Does anyone else have this issue?

1 exercise that trashed my glutes are highest resistance band sumo side squats but u push the dominant leg out and use just that leg to push u back to the middle to do a deep squat but knees open at the bottom i can do 10 each side its such a burn

i am 4’6” and i have to stand on the pads that are usually for behind your calves 🥲🥲🥲 i tried the smith machine but my gyms smith machine isn’t close to the wall like this so the plates behind me would slip 😭 i think the way I’m doing it is good tho bc i feel it but I wish they would make a back extension machine for short limb friendly 😂
That’s my biggest problem. i have booty at the bottom . But the top is flat. I’ve been trying to figure out how can grow it.

I'd add that doing this excercise one side at a time is a great progression also. Otherwise you're always asstronomical🤗
