This is a good camera to put on a customized drone, but if you are anything like me who doesn't know squat about building a drone, then the DJI FPV is still the best choice.
Said by someone who doesn't know squat... just get a soldering iron... it flies better than the DJI FPV :)

Only feature missing is a microSD slot in the case, so that when you connect the camera, it automatically transfers the footage from the camera's built-in memory to your removable card, and when recording with the case, footage goes straight to your card. Maybe in version 3?
It better be durable because it will fall A LOT. as in A LOT. Even the guy unboxing it dropped it.

Wow, the GO 2 looked better than the GoPro in those low light shots!
Yeah I had to triple check the split screen. Then I shot it twice to make sure the Max ISO wasn’t limiting the GoPro.

Not very fair. GoPro has been set at a much higher ISO and exposure.
@@PotatoJet The gopros image didn't look sharp at all. Was the lens clean? I really have a hard time believing that the goPro is that fuzzy.

i want gopro and dji to go back to the session days, when every company was trying to shrink action cameras down like insta 360 is doing
the size ends up being determined by the mount required. you can wear a chesty and the size of the gopro or insta360 doesn't matter... same with a bike, or a helmet cam etc. the magnet idea on this is clever but by insta360's own admission you can't use it for action sports, as seen in other reviews the GO2 falls off instantly with the slightest bump of the road so you HAVE to put it in a solid mount. it a wow for size but considering the ways you need to mount it you might as well get a bigger cam with much better 4K video quality and better storage and battery life.
I heard a lot of people say that it was because the few fpv people don't buy enough to be useful for GoPro. And i can see a lot more non-fpv people use the 360 go 2 than a session.
I'm still sad the session ended. I have the rebranded session 4 and i really like the little cube.

@@canyonblue737-8 as an FPV pilot im really really stoked to see insta360 shrinking down form factor. Gopro has been continually making bigger and bigger cameras, while being more expensive and less durable. GoPro hasn't made a good camera for FPV since the session 5, all the ones after the session had some heavy cons (currently using an 8, i used to use the 7, and I draw the line at the gopro 9. way too big and clunky and will break if you blow on it when it comes to FPV applications)
With increasing demands of 4k+ recording capabilities and the push to get to 120 fps, the batteries will only get larger if they hope to maintain battery life. Especially true if they can manage to add computational photography to the next GoPro/Osmo.

the workflow of this camera seems incredible, having all aspect ratios from the same footage, this is priceless!! Also, love to see the FPV potential, imagine how tiny the drones can be now and still get amazing footage!

I'm in love with that multifunction case, but that ~$300 price tag is too close to gopro territory. Would be a no brainer closer to $200 but damn....decisions decisions........
yah. as a owner of oneR for almost a year now. the only advantage that im seeing with the go 2 is the small size. video quality. memory capacity. and battery life is way far from oneR . plus it has a same price so i will definitely still chooce the oneR.
Exactly. I don’t know why its quality is being featured. The quality is poor especially compared to a GoPro. The form factor is the selling point for me.

In some of the drone shots, when the drone shadow was in frame, there was a pretty substantial halo around the shadow. Is that a byproduct of the Insta360 or TH-cam compression?
It´s a byproduct of the physics engine that runs our world :P Actually it is an optical phenomenon called "Heiligenschein" The explanation for it is: "Nearly spherical dew droplets act as lenses to focus the light onto the surface behind them. When this light scatters or reflects off that surface, the same lens re-focuses that light into the direction from which it came. This configuration is sometimes called a cat's eye retroreflector. Any retroreflective surface is brightest around the antisolar point."
If you want to work on some custom camera mounts for your drones, let me know! I do 3D modeling and have my own 3D printers =) (Also I'm a mechanical engineer lol) I think it would be a super fun project.

When it was dark the Go 2 was a dud.
As it got bright it turned into a spud.
When put on the drone it moved smoothly around.
Then given to Gene and panicked Potato Jet sound.
If the Go 2 is a dud in low light, what do you call the GoPro Hero 9 in the dark? GoPro image is garbage at dusk lmao.

They are not even remotely the same... gopro for water and or rugged action, litteraly throw it everywhere.
This is just a tiny camera, fun for different field of view but i would not bring it to somewhere with actual action.
Basicly indoor, timid action can work with the tiny lens but for everything else i would use a go pro or somo action. But that is just my opinion, also no need to get the 9 , get the hero 7 black and save money.

There are definitely a lot of fun shots I could get with this~ It's not the highest of quality, but the quality I have been seeing from you and other creators has definitely astounded me for the package that it is in. Personally I would use this for creative shots that need a small body to get, and if I find it within my budget over the next few months, I would also use it for PoV shots in shorter vlogs when I go studying abroad.

Amazing video! I'm actually sold on this, I love the flexibility it gives you through its magnetism like clipping it on your shirt. Nice and easy camera to use for vloggers and can easily be paired with another handheld camera be that a DSLR or GoPro Hero to combine shots very easily.
The absolute simplicity given the upgraded specs makes this very attractive.
