hey should have a feature in which it automatically transfer the files when you attached a flash drive in it.
I don't like wirelessly transferring it to my phone. that way not only that you saved so much storage on your phone, it also make it easier to empty the insta360 go 2 storage if it is nearly full plus in addition it also make it easy to transfer files to you desktop.

@16:35 FWIW You can connect the original GO to a computer. It's just the terrible desktop app doesn't let you pick the viewing angle, whereas the phone app does. I want to get a GO2 but unless Insta360 puts a viewing direction feature in the desktop app or someone shows me it does, I'm holding out. I don't want to have to do and edit on my phone just to clean up the footage before transferring to the computer.
Interesting! What do you mean by viewing angle? The focal length perspective? I think a big studio app update is coming in the not so distant future.
@@JesseDriftwood When I use the phone/tablet app, I can press on the image and move around the viewing angle within the larger captured video FOV, and then produce a video. I cant do that on the desktop app. I was making cooking videos by wearing it on the pendant and then using the app, move the view angle from straight ahead to looking down toward my food. So the result was in the workflow is that I had to do a round of edit on my tablet, them render clips and upload to youtube or 360go then download to bring into my desktop editing software---huge time sink. I sure hope the software does change to allow for easier editing. I'm glad you like the device and it looks like the GO2 is a huge leap in quality and storage.
@@lidarman2 my desktop definitely lets me adjust the tilt up and down but not left and right only enough, my understanding is that should be fixed very soon.

How do you manage the internal storage for I.e camping trips? Constant transfer to phone?
That’s what I had to do unfortunately. Usually once a day. If I wasn’t using promode it would have lasted the whole trip though. I want to try using one of those external drives that is made for on the go backup and see if that works.

@@RobinGroenevelt my understanding is that the premier plugin is much easier to make and should happen soon, but that the way fcp handles plug-in development for this type of thing is much more complicated so it would take more time and possibly still be less convenient. I hope I’m wrong here !

I appreciate your honesty. That is so important for influencers. As I mentioned in a previous comment, I lost trust in many of them due to the first Insta360Go which was pure garbage.
I've been watching quite a few vids on the 360 go2 and the Action 2, but I really wanted to comment on yours. While it's cool that TH-camrs get sponsored by these companies, I don't know if what I'm hearing is tailored to fit the conditions. I really appreciate your pure, real opinion of this camera and I really think it helped me more than most others. I also enjoyed the shots you took on your trip. It did a good job of highlighting what the camera can do and you and your buds were very entertaining! Thank you for the great vid!

I took my insta 360 one x to Japan and Jordan in 2019 and looking back it was pretty great to capture the real "feel" of the place.

so basically..u come up with 360 go 2, or GoPro55 400k rez or the tiniest camera to fit on your ballsack...people will always complain.
regarding the little tripod, not by the wind but the buzz after I click my phone as remote will knock it down or shake the lens to slightly off the scene I want. 😅
Need direct import to final cut.
No middle software. My time is valuable.
That makes it a work flow pain.

Great video, really cleared up alot. I recently just purchased the insta 360 go2 and I have to know, @16:10 in your video, riding your onewheel. What accessories or angle are you using on that camera to see your board from the front without the stick?
I've been "trying" and I repeat that word "trying" to use this d***n camera on my bike rides now for nearly a year and I'm just about to throw the thing in the garbage. OK, it's simple, so simple that you, well I, me, never know whether its videoing or not. I've set all the button settings to one press and 5 minutes, but do you think when I get back from a ride all the clips are there? NO! I just don't understand this camera.
PS, it absolutely no good if riding a race bike with it pinned to your chest because all you get is knees going up and down. MTB with a more sit-up position is OK though....if its recording that is.
Any advice would be more than welcome.

How long did the phone transfer take? No one seem to say that!
It depends on the types of clips you shot. Pro Mode takes by far the longest since it’s applying all the data for stabilization and aspect ratio in the export.

One of my favorite videos of yours yet. Just pure joy exuded. I’ve been listening to you on some podcasts recently (make stuff and ghpod) and I know you’re wrestling with evergreen content. I just wanted to encourage it further. Do what makes you happy man and forget the gear chase. I think you have a following enough to make it sustainable. Review what you love, like the go 2 and it becomes that much more believable to make me interested in purchasing. Far to often I think we (the audience) get skewed by quality ads that aren’t telling the whole story. Review what you love and let the market come to you. It will always correct to meet demand, meaning brands will seek you out for your authenticity or should I say they’ll seek out your audience who knows what you back is what you really back. But someone has to take the first step. I think a lot of people feel the way you do re: gear reviewing. Sounds exhausting dude. Your candidness on the c70 on the ghpod was so encouraging for example.
Also as a side note, you and Gerald undone are some of my favorite listens when it comes to podcasts recently. I think it’s the authenticity, articulation, and love of the craft. Idk. But dude keep recording with Levi or pursue another show you like, like talking with cristoff and the gang or something.

@@JesseDriftwood have you noticed any itchiness from the chest amulet? Amulet? Sure amulet. Anyway I got a pretty bad rash after jogging with it. Thought i had Covid! I guess I just needed to wash it first. We’ll see after the next jog.

Yeah the framerates bugged me too... Should just ship with NTSC and PAL region support for all common. I messaged support and was told similar "possible future update", really hoping so as shooting 50fps just to get 25 will be chewing my storage and battery when not needed 😅

I have a question, if I had the go 2 on my head on a trip (without filming), then press the shortcut button for a small video before continuing on, would the go 2 drain battery on standby?
I’ve never fully tested what impact it has on the battery, but it’s always seemed pretty minimal to me. The real issue is that battery life outside of the case just isn’t great in the first place.

Do you have a manual iso and shutter by default every time you turn it in pro mode? It’s really bothering me, I pushed to connect it every time to my phone and adjust, otherwise I get overexposed or underexposed video
if it only outputs in 2k why is there a 4k option in the video playback???
Because the rest of the video was shot in 4K, and because TH-cam has better compression when uploading in 4K.

$299 - for $350 - the GoPro 9 can do a better job - plus I can record 256 gigabytes - plus my audio is 100% better

I used to capture a lot of family footage with my pointnshoot & I never got going on a phone when my PnS brokedown during my 2nd child & when I got to my 3rd child I stopped recording. PnS to phone is not a seamless transition even though a phone seems convenient & logical replacement for PnS but my phone was also something I use for work with so many work related things on it & needing storage (I don't install games on it). I've missed a lot of moments from my 3rd child. Other reasons are:
1st child is a never miss a moment phase. 2nd child was my first son so felt like a 1st. 3rd was like yeah been there done that - got lazy xD. If you have a boy & girl, don't add another child, you'll be cruelly unfair on the amount of footage & pictures taken ;D
In short. You sold me on this. Thanks Jesse.

I just got back from the first day of using mine all day and first i wanna say im mad that they sent me a fuckin black sticker to put on the front because i payed extra for black instead of white.. the sticker doesnt even cover the sides so now its mulitcolored.. anyways i also found the 360 studio for the pc very very basic too basic.. you are right about the insta being in the case and barely using any battery. idk overall id give it a C- im not that impressed but ill keep using it hoping i just havent "figured it out yet"
This was a helpful video. I really want to get this camera but I wish it was just $100 less. I feel for the memory it offers it should be just a bit less or come with a bit more... I'm so on the fence. I feel like the GoPro Is just more than what I need and the Osmo seems bulky. I want a camera mostly to shoot park skaters and adventures we take. This may be the best bet the price is just hard to swallow

Regarding the tripod criticism, it looks founded...but given the form factor here I'd be surprised if it can be improved significantly.
The case does have a 1/4-20 mount which could be used with any tripod, etc. For outdoor use I love to pack a small length of 1/4-20 all-thread with one end sharpened to a point (you can buy versions of this too).
This allows me to quickly stick my action cams in the ground anywhere. Your mileage may vary with frozen ground...

Did they fix the android app yet? Insta360 Go was a nightmare for anyone using android. Ah... still at 2 stars on google store and the new app they made is at 2.6 stars... Nothing has changed. Do not recommend this camera for anyone using android.

@@JesseDriftwood it has good and bad days. Sometimes I needed 10+ tries to get the connection working, good to hear that you can directly connect to PC. 1st go was mobile only

That doesn’t make sense. You have to connect to the cameras wifi not a home wifi.
Does it use the phone’s hotspot?
