I love your reviews. You are to the point and very thorough, adding so much more detailed information in your videos than any other reviewer I have seen. I find myself skipping ahead in other videos to hurry up and "get to the point" in order to find what I need to know, often coming away with not much information about a product. But your videos I can watch without skipping because they are jam-packed with need-to-know information covering everything there is to know. It is so refreshing. Thank you.

hey Scott! such a fan of your channel! I literally started live looping because of your Lakato looper video! Since then I've done some full concerts and started a TH-cam channel of my own. I've had a few issues with the limitations of my little Lekato pedal, and so when I saw this video 8 months ago I've had my eye on upgrading to the Sheeran Looper Plus ever since. Well, long story short, my family pitched in for Christmas so that I could get it!!! I was a bit confused about the modes and how they worked, but since I knew that your channel was the very best place to come for that info, here I am again, and this video was perfect for what I needed...gonna use the sync mode for sure, along with a footswitch to switch between tracks without having to double tap! Let the fun begin!

Echoing and expanding on what others have said - your ability to constantly learn the operation of new devices and present them in details is amazing. I mean, sure, just *this* device isn't quite the console of an F-14, but it's complicated enough that I know I would have to keep a cheat card available for a while. But in the aggregate the stuff you've presented just since I've been watching (since I found your HX Stomp snapshots video) is a little bit mind boggling. The device itself is pretty cool, too. Much respect from FoCo.

Couple of points to add Scott. When you save a loop it remembers the foot control assignments which is handy if you save different modes of looping and want the pedals to do different things. The big issue I have with the looper is lack of volume control of your loops. If you load a loop into the machine you can't alter its volume like you can with a ditto+. Equally you can't alter loop volume on the fly when you have just recorded something so if you want something a bit more background then you have to play softer or sing quieter. Great video mate. 😊

Something tells me they listened to far more musicians than just Ed when they designed this looper. The gain and volume meters are so important. I always struggle to get a decent mix with my regular looper, especially when using distorted/overdriven guitars. The only looper style pedal that comes close to having control over the separate volumes is the Digitech Trio+. But this is far better.

To each his own I guess but for me, I just want a looping pedal that does the job of looping without all the other stuff. I don't want drums or effects that no one buys. I don't want to buy extra pedals just so it will work properly. I'm just getting used to this pedal but I'm psyched about it so far. The ability to serial loop with a guitar and microphone opens up a lot of possibilities. Double tapping to switch tracks is a drag but can be overcome by assigning the Encoder button to do that job (no need for an external pedal). I'd guess that Ed Sheeran had a list of very usable features that had to be met, even including things like it's weight and hefty foot pads. It's really built like a tank.
Some of the other pedals I've used like the Ditto X4 has good sound quality, 2 separate track buttons (great feature) and a dedicated stop button (another good design ) but it won't take a mic and the lag when overdubing is just unacceptable.
I have a older Boss RC30 which works well, is simple to use but the sound quality isn't very good and it won't serial loop.
I tried the Boss RC500 which I believe will serial loop, has a mic input and great sound quality but gave up on it because it's just too complicated. It's just too easy to get into trouble. I rented one and almost went blind looking at the postage stamp size screen trying to fix it. Compared to all the other pedals I've tried, the Sheeran X Looper is a bargain and a solid tool for a gigging soloist.

  • @bobbean5968
    @bobbean5968 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

In Sync mode, when you stop a loop and only play the other channel’s loop, does it pause it or stop it. In other words, when you re-start the stopped loop does it re-start at the beginning of that loop, or did it pause and it re-starts from that paused point.
I hope this question makes sense. I saw another reviewer talking about the larger version of this looper and they said it pauses and then re-starts from that paused point. If so, that wouldn’t work for what I do. I need loops to restart from their beginning point.

EXCELLENT video. I have one question Scott. I have been using that basic red Boss looper for years with a footswitch to allow me to stop it with one tap, but I want a 2 channel looper badly.
I stop/start my looped beats often mid song, is that something you can do with one tap with this looper, assuming my beat is on track one? The double tapping is a no-go for me, I need one tap to start the looped beat and one to stop it in real time.
Also, does this correct the meter/timing of your loops if they are slightly off? From your demo it almost seems like it does that.

The Song mode should be done just by one move - after you have recorded both loops , the looper recognizes it and changes the behaviour of the footswitches as follows : left footswitch selects loop A , right footswitch selects loop B , to stop the looper step on the footswitch wich belongs to the active loop , ( the loop wich is playing ) .... step and hold on a switch clears the loop ....

I can't do that on mine. Best you can do is mute one of the tracks or solo , but when you stop it all the mute stays in place so it doesn't come back on. I can't understand why you would have 2 tracks Why not just overdub 1 track if you can't stop each individually

At that price to not get a power chord is just ridiculous. So much competition in this market at the moment so I think with the exception of nice beefy pedals, there is not much to get excited about.
How can you have a Looper without a click or preferably some drum tracks.
Honestly for the price I would Buy a RC 202 and mic stand mount it with a fat midi controller to the floor or even the one you used would be more powerful than the Sheeran looper at the same price

In my experience, people who loop are some of the pickiest people in the gear world (not a bad thing, people know what they want). I personally love the design of this looper and I will use it for acoustic sets to add a looper into it. But do what works best for you

I disagree, there are sometimes not enough outlets or you don’t want a bunch of power cords going to the power strip. Or like me you do outreaches in parks and places like when I go camping where there is no electricity.
