I am excited about this looper! As an acoustic guitarist, I use a drum machine, running both guitar and drum machine into the looper. I am hoping that I can use one of the routing modes to combine both guitar and drums into one line, which I will send into my PA system. Thanks for the great video! It really helped me to get my feet wet, as I just ordered this pedal! The fact that it has the large pedals, and not the usual foot switch, was a huge plus for me!
I just got one of these and couldn't be happier, so far! I really don't care for all the effects and drum machines that a lot of brands bundle in their loopers. I would never use 'stutter' or 'reverse'. I just want a looper that excels at looping without being too complicated. The Looper X is realitvely simple but tweakable, has good sound quality, can serial loop, play in stereo and take a mic. You could gig without dragging a board around and send the signals to two different places and adjust each channel. $400 Cdn . Pretty good value for a quality piece of gear.
I love looping. I used a Boss RC-20 for years, then moved to a DigiTech JamMan Stereo for the better 24-bit quality audio. It started acting wonky a year ago and broke a few months ago. I now use an old, free Mobius software Looper on my PC. It's amazingly versatile and powerful, but requires reading the Manual to set it up for practical use. My HX Stomp has a Looper, but no "auto-sensing" to start recording foot or hands free - A real oversight, particularly for desktop use. The built-in Looper uses a lot of DSP, and must be added as a separate Block to each Preset. This is inconvenient, and should be a Global Block.
So what have you found to be the optimal setup for your use case? I've found I cant work with a daw, nor use pedals with alot of options or effects. the Looper has to be super simple and allow me to stay connected to the instrument and the musician-mindset. With big boards and knobs to tweak, almost always I get distracted with setting something up, fine tuning some parameter. The inner studio engineer comes to life and stifles the mojo. That touch is missing and inspiration is long gone..
I can only get the imported drum loop to work in SINGLE MODE, or am I mistaken? You are then tied to the length of that loop of course . It won't work in any other mode, it keeps reverting to single
As usual another great video and playing guys. After watching this video yesterday I purchased mine today. Having so much fun with it, it's an awesome bit of kit :)
Thanks for the video and great playing! Can a second instrument (synth or guitar) be plugged into the "mic" input, if the stereo inputs are occupied, instead of a mic? Can the pedal be USB powered? Liked from a USB power bank or computer?
I didn't quite follow how you got around the limitations of the Looper + by sending the drum track to someplace other than the guitar amp. Could you show how you did that in more detail in the comments perhaps?
You guys need to review the Aeros Loop Studio. The top loopers I see people using and loving are: Aeros Loop Studio, Boss RC 600, Boss 505 Mk II, and the Sheeran loopers.
Question guys: I think I’d be lost with the big X, but would need the extra footswitch at the plus. Your demo one has the tiny buttons I always miss with my clumsy feet. Would the boss fs6 work, or are there others with big pedals?
I hate sounding like an old fossil but I’ve tried with Ed Sheeran but I just can’t get into his stuff. This pedal however seems like a great product for an aspiring songwriter/noodler.
I have a NUX Drum Loop pro..it comes with drums, and you can load your own. This machine is nice, but I would rather have drums bulit in, to start with.
Like the drum loop / aux loop load but still cannot replace my trusty old RC-30 unfortunately as it lacks an Aux input that can be recorded which I use to add a synth to the setup with git / HX Stomp and mic.
Great video! Thanks I have this looper since today and it's great but: I have a latency while press undo/redo. (about 0,5sec) This funktion is absolutly instant with my BOSS RC-1 Also if I use an external footswitch. (FS-6) Do You have a latency too?
I bought rc 600. Because it is 3 times lighter, smaller size, has 6 tracks, 2.33 times cheaper. It took me one week to set it up to my liking. Does not have touch screen. So have to learn stuffs via youtube and parameter guide. Can only use 4 fx at a time unlike x which can use 7 at a time. But its enough for me. But I am pissed off that I cannot assign different input fx banks to different tracks so that corresponding input bank is automatically activated when I play a certain track. I dont know if such functionality is available in other loopers. I would like insights from other looper users on this issue.
I’m asking this before I even watch your video, because I’m guessing I know. Does this looper have an easy editing function for cropping off off the starting fraction of a second or two, and/or the ending fraction of a second or two? I’m guessing the answer is still no….none of them do. And why? The hardest part to creating a seamless loop, is the start tap and the end tap (or double tap). I have to sit while I play, so my pedals are hand activated and sitting on an elevated board next to my chair. This is SO AGGRAVATING and would be so simple to fix. Just help players like me, CLOSE THE LOOP! Until someone finally does, I’m done screwing around with loopers.
You need a looper that quantizes. Check out the Aeros Loop Studio by Singular Sound. I've had mine for several years, and it quantizes, and does multi-tracks and sound parts. It's interface is a fairly complex however, and it has some annoying workflow issues too, especially when it comes to clearing loops. It integrates well with the Singular Beat Buddy drum pedal (via midi) The Beat Buddy is the best sounding drum machine on the market IMO. It has it's own issues when it comes to programing drum loops and set-lists, (terrible software - think arcane idiosyncratic 90s era interface) but again, it sounds fantastic. Even with quantizing you need to be fairly precise with your footwork, or your loops will sound choppy. It can only do so much. I think of my loopers are musical instruments - they require years of dedication and frequent practice to fully master. You can hear my solo performance live looping set-up on my channel here: th-cam.com/video/APWqN9w8bms/w-d-xo.html
@@TheWilliamHoganExperience thanks but that’s not what I need. I need a simple looper pedal that allows me to trim the front and/or end of a loop. Period. It’s not complex, the actual electronics would be so easy to design. Put a knob on the left that pulls in the start spot and a knob on the right side that pulls in the stop or “reloop” point. Buttons could do, it too. Think of how simple it is to edit the length of a video on your smart phone. Seems like such a practical addition to a basic loop pedal, yet no one does it. Why? I don’t want to have to use a laptop or a $600 “station,” I’m not recording anything. Just would like to easily create a nice tight loop to riff over. Thanks for your reply, though.
What is the model number of the NUX footswitch? Can any footswitch be used with this looper? Thanks in advance for your time (for anyone who answers.🎸🎸🎸
Hi I'm looking for looper that I can add and remove loops from. Let me explain, I loop a drum beat, then a bass loop, then a backing vocal loop, then I start playing guitar over the top as my main performance. I then want to remove the drums for a few bars and then put them back without losing the bass loop and backing vocal loop. Can this be done? With this looper or another type of looper?
Is there a computer interface app for Mac/Sheeran Looper + that will allow you to transfer a wave file to the looper memory and name the file rather than the default name of Loop A or Loop B etc?
I use two Zoom G1XFOUR in series, that way I get drums and guitar fx as well as 2x30 second loops. 30 seconds is just about OK coz I don't want to spend ages building up the backing. 👍
Love your videos:) what about a video about a Pedalboard with Sheeran Looper + and with what pedals to have in front Of the looper? Maybe even a Pedalboard able to do acc guitar and/or El-Guitar into the looper. And, maybe even with a Vocal processor pedal like the TC Mic Mechanic 2. All in The same board. A Solo looper artist gigging board :) that could be awesome to see how you would do. Best regards from Pelle - ALSO FROM DENMARK 😂

Free video guys but I have a couple of questions if you can please answer them for me. Once you have your son going can you record that song on to something so if you're writing a song using the super can you record your creation of all those parts that's what I need to know? And my other question is if you were going to choose between this and the DigiTech Trio plus which one of these do you think is better? Also I don't play bass guitar but I can play bass on my regular guitar I'm just asking cuz I'm getting close to buying one of these for my guitar store right now but I need to know that information thank you have a great day. -Cheers
Lee...I wish you would cover Singular Sound's Aeros......it's a looper your customers need to know about....yes it's more expensive but so easy and intuitive to use....this Sherran Looper will be fine for people who can use it properly but as a first looper it could well end up a rather costly paper weight.....my advice to people out there in TH-cam land...and this is from someone who's frustratingly been through just about every looper on the market is to stay away from any unit with a small screen displaying all the info and save yourselves a heap of cash by buying the Aeros with it's large display which makes looping a real pleasure. It visually helps you to sync your loops perfectly and I've never owned anything else that comes close to doing that.
I purchase this and was disappointed to find that there is one simple thing that it does not allow you to do. Record over a looping track. Once a looping track is set you can only overdub, record one more loop and go back and forth between those loops. I can't find any way to re-record a loop without stopping everything. Perhaps it's possible using the "clear" function with a foot switch? I'm not sure.
Can someone please explain to me what the difference is between Record/Dub/Play and Record/Play/Dub? Until now, I'd never heard of there being a "default RPD" on Boss pedals or that other pedals possibly worked differently. I still feel like a complete looper novice even after years of trying, so by all means, feel free to explain it to me as if you were speaking to a six-year-old. Thanks!

Not a fair comparison really as Chapper's rig is tops and Captain's not. If I were buying as a beginner, I'd go Lee's rig and if I were buying as an experienced guitarist with lots of dosh, I'd get a guitar that looks like it wasn't just found at a jumble sale.
@@pepmasters-999 I had to replay it a number of times and still couldn't make out what he was saying. With the transcription on the side that said Y rock, I typed that into Google and Yurt Rock came up. I thought he was saying "yacht rock", myself.
no midi out? OUCH. boss rc 505mkii first loop sets midi time and drives my whole ableton/digitone/ fx setup. even the dual floor boss could do it. what an omission. product crippling?
I tried this unit at the local music store. It may be robust but it is not functional for dual channels unless you can tap dance. His bigger model is much better, but cost and arm & a leg because Ed’s name is on it. The boss RC600 cost less and can do the same thing.
Don't you hate that- this always happens to me- that's the nature of the market nowadays. It moves so quickly, whatever you buy- there's something better a few weeks later. But- you have to jump in somewhere, and it really doesn't matter how long you wait- because it just keeps improving at a breakneck pace. that said- it would pay for one of these companies to standardize a form factor and stick with it I think- because ppl like to get used to a looper and hang on to it- they don't like having to reprogram their muscle memory over and over and learn a new user interface. If that stayed basically the same, but the unit could be upgraded- I think ppl would love it.
If it’s ’record>play>overdub’ that proves to me it’s not a performers pedal. Audiences generally get bored if you take too long to set up loops. I’ve played over 300 gigs with a Boss RC-20 and I’m sticking with it. The ‘Record>overdub>play’ feature of Boss’s loop pedal is fundamental to a good performance imo. Ed would know that, so I guess this is being marketed to a different audience, which is fair enough. If you want to perform with loops though, please consider this point!
Jeez Louise , over a grand to loop ? Nearly £300 for the baby looper , I had a Zoom G1on fx pedal , it had looper and drum machine great practice sounds , sure , if you’re going PRO , Sheeran loopers are the way to go , but for messing about practicing the Zoom is cheap as chips if you get bored ( and you will eventually ) of looping sell it on . Looping can be an extra guitar orientated creative skill , like slide guitar , tapping , sweep picking etc but there’s only so many uses , join / create a band , it’s difficult I know but it’s worth it ... sorted 😘
I bought a looper about 10 years ago because I thought I ought to. Never even took it out the box to try it out. That's how much genuine use I had for it. Thanks for the reminder it's in storage somewhere. I suppose I better look for it before I forget again.

Cool looper but the loop itself was not as good as the Vox Mini Go loop lol. Love Pete’s loops.
No phantom power is a dealbreaker as I use loopers for saxophone
talk about it ,MIDI is great ……add new Beat buddy through it almost adds another track and fills
Not a fair comparison really as Chapper's rig is tops and Captain's not. If I were buying as a beginner, I'd go Lee's rig and if I were buying as an experienced guitarist with lots of dosh, I'd get a guitar that looks like it wasn't just found at a jumble sale.
Why does this video has only 17k views?
How does it not have a headphone jack ????
I wish Digitech would have listened to me.
Now I want to befriend Ed Sheeran. He seems to listen.
Sorry, where did the drum tracks come from?
It's funny that you ask, as the answer is fully covered in the video. Did you watch it?
Try 4:34
They loaded them in from Yurt Rock
@@pepmasters-999 I had to replay it a number of times and still couldn't make out what he was saying. With the transcription on the side that said Y rock, I typed that into Google and Yurt Rock came up. I thought he was saying "yacht rock", myself.
@@stevennetzelwhich loops do you like the most from Yurt Rock?
Is it a 2 track looper
Yes.
Such a shame the loopers doesn’t have all start/stop that’s insane!
I wrote a song about this it's called "PUT IT INNA BOX"
Do you get a case with the looper +? And also do you offer student discount?
no midi out? OUCH. boss rc 505mkii first loop sets midi time and drives my whole ableton/digitone/ fx setup. even the dual floor boss could do it. what an omission. product crippling?
oh thats cute. scam on!@Andertons_MusicCo
Surely there was an undo to get rid of the Lieutenant’s hiccups.
I’ll happily come in and do a few loops for you. 😉
I tried this unit at the local music store. It may be robust but it is not functional for dual channels unless you can tap dance. His bigger model is much better, but cost and arm & a leg because Ed’s name is on it. The boss RC600 cost less and can do the same thing.
Shouldn't ed Sheeran loopers come in ginger orange?
I definitely wouldn't prefer the latest pigtronix infinity over this! 😂
Man I JUST ordered an RC-500….
You won't be disappointed.
If you want to perform with loops though, please consider this point!
they make a pretty clear point that it's customizable in the settings
That would require watching the entire video before commenting, though, thus breaking the Third Law of the Internet
Yea there are many connotations how you use this Looper X…
They should’ve name this one the Edrush
I heard Ed Sheeran copied this from a looper pedal Marvin Gaye had.
Well played

Loopers are unnecessary crap.
Loopers are unnecessary crap.
Buyer beware. Headrush, after using it's Looperboard users throughout beta testing, completely abandoned their defective unit and it's users for this newer model. They will do this again.
Agreed. The looperboard was total shite. Insanely high noise floor.
HEH! HEH! HEH! HEH!
Come on everybody!
