Is the 2020 Subaru Impreza Limited a GOOD or GREAT hatchback?

  • The Impreza has been around for man years in Subarus lineup. Under the hood is a 2.0L flat-4 that is producing 152HP and mated to a CVT transmission. Getting the power to the ground is Subaru's symmetrical AWD system. On the outside there were a few changes to the front fascia and wheels. On the inside you will find Subaru's traditional interior and Eyesight safety technology. Is the 2020 Subaru Impreza Limited a GOOD or GREAT hatchback?

A lot of cars that use CVT's are okay because those cars are meant for the demographic that don't really care nor will they notice how it feels, just as long as it can get them from A to B. However, I would argue that the WRX should not have come in a CVT. That car is somewhat of an enthusiast car so it doesn't make sense to throw a CVT in there.

I agree, CVT aren't that bad. You're allowed to have your opinions of course, but sometimes, I feel like the hate for them is more of a hate-train thing than actual rational dislike. Because let's be honest, the reasons for hating them are always irrational like "They don't feel old school" or something along those lines. The exact same reason people dislike EVs; just an irrational dislike for change and progression.

The connectivity is in the front seat center armrest. When you open the lid, you'll see grooves in the lip of the bin where you can run USB cables out to the back (and close the lid without pinching the cables). Takes just slightly longer cables. I use the accessory power port in the bin with a dual-usb plug adapter (costs about $10) providing two USB power ports. Add-on power ports are better than built-in, because the built-in ones become obsolete after a few years when new standards are introduced.

I bough the hatch 3 weeks ago, but I choose the trim below with a 5MT. As I bougjt this car to save money, I choose to not have CVT, eye sight, LED lamp and other electronic gimmick as they are expensive to repair later. It make no sense for me on a cheap car like that. It also has 16 inch tire, so it is also cheaper. You still have everything that make that car great, AWD, hatch, fun, without the hassle of paying 400$ for a broken LED lamp or a fortune to fix a CVT trans

I can go 20 miles on a stop and go highway without touching the brake or gas pedal all the while maintaining good gas mileage. It’s leaps and bounds above my parents Toyota Sequoia and F150s adaptive cruise. Also a small detail that I love, this has the be the only car I’ve ever been in where the front seat goes all the way back flat.

I watched your base model review of the Impreza, I live in Ohio & I'm leasing one! it's like driving on a couch. I love the base model. I had a 2007 Forester & the engine blew. Subaru gave me a $1000.00 credit!. I put zero down, and it's $263 a month. It's all black. The Impreza can dominate at Costco. This is my winter whip. I own a 2007 BMW 335i which is my baby not ideal for bad weather. I cannot wait for the new redesign WRX and STI! I will be turning in this lease for a WRX ! Love your channel ! Subaru Customer service was amazing!

How does the drive compare between the Impreza and Crosstrek? My concern is the Crosstrek’s higher clearance would turn the handling to crap especially when cornering.
