Another popular car reviewer said that this is almost perfect for what it is, and the CVT does not take away from it, even though it would be a blockbuster WRX Jr for those that want the 6 Speed manual. Very well done, especially with the Oasis Blue here, or the Sapphire Blue Pearl which I would prefer.
The CVT has a solid chain instead of a belt and is said to be pretty good. The Toyotas and Hondas are the only other CVTs I would trust. But it sucks that Subaru claims they had poor sales for the manual, but only offered it in the base version, just like the Crosstrek. Hopefully, for next year, they should offer at least the Manual, maybe special order and some dealerships might want to bring some in if there is interest for it in their area. But what would be really good is to have the 228 HP BRZ 2.4L engine and 6 Speed Manual offered.

If you want a racier car then the Impreza is not for you, but otherwise it's a great car and I've owned 3 now.
8:36 Nearly spat my food out at "Thomas Edison lightbulbs"
Doesnt matter there are no brand new cars in dealerships or if does, theres 5k fuck up (markup) price
2024 Subaru Impreza RS 2.5L Boxer 4-Cylinder CVT Hatchback!
Why do people care about the HVAC controls? I live in Florida and it is set it and forget it for me. I am not driving down the street constantly changing my temp setting.
All show and no go. Subaru goes half way on this one. More power would make up for the usual cheap subie interior. You hit the nail when you said BRZ engine and more flair in the fenders.
Should of put a turbo inline 4 and manual should've been standard , wider body and it would have been perfect my opinion tho lol
If it had an inline engine it would be made by somebody else, because subaru doesnt make an inline engine and never has.
@@boost331 that's the point lol 🤣, why make these sport trims if it's no power Even though it has 30 more horsepower than a regular Impreza the max should be at least 230
Tommy like his friends use to call him I’m done 😂
WEAK! No manual, and a huge infotainment screen that i want nothing to do with. C’mon Subaru do better for the enthusiast.
182hp + CVT = slow AF
Joe, Why is this the hot hatch Subaru fans want?
Utilize the 2.4 liter motor with the extra torque and horsepower and add an optional manual gearbox enough said.
This look like a car NFS Underground would give you to start career mode. Nothing Imprezaed me 😂! Matter of fact, I had to fast forward some parts cause my eyes were hurting lol. Your review was good as always tho! Thanks for sharing!
like it enough i bought one and love my 2024 Impreza
Look how good a Subaru looks without the stupid black plastic fenders!
They look great on my 18 Crosstrek!
Epic Review Joe!
I own a 2017 and love it but i was hoping for a hotter hatch to come
Major Konks: No rear vents (for your furry friend), and a locking glove box woulda been nice
Good call on those!
Neither do the civic or corolla.
Definitely considering buying this car.
Great video Joe 👍
They can't put in the BRZ engine because it get's horrible MPG's. This is still an econo rental car.
BRZ engine gets very good MPG by itself. Most automatic trans owners get over 30MPG. The manual is way worse cuz its geared very aggressive.
The real reason they cant use that engine is because it is a shared project with toyota. It will never be used in anything other than the BRZ\86.
Yes, the Impreza is better, great AWD system, bigger engine, cool touchscreen!
If you only need mpg and no snow or ice driving, the Corolla is fine.
This is so very true Chris!
I have an 2021impreza and i like the old grill better. My car is the ice silver so i put the dame color auto tape on and it pops on the black grill.
Wish it was a turbo and manual!
It is the best car ever made Subaru ❤
same 2.5 182hp motor from the Crosstrek Sport/Forester/Outback (my 2017 Outback is for some reason detuned to 175, but w/e)... this engine is being put in Everything, and only being paired to a lothesome sluggish CVT. idc how you "sport tune" it, its still a CVT. Let me 'row my own'. What i'd give for an Outback XT with the WRX motor & paired w/ the 6MT transmission!!!
They should have at least put a manual transmission in the RS trim
This is an odd car when you add up some of the choices. It's an RS model but it doesn't feel sporty enough to woo people over from the WRX. Still, I am so so so so so so grateful for anybody continuing to make a hatchback-- it's the only style for me.
Well the RS is technically a lower trim than the WRX
This is what you get when you can't afford a WRX.
@@TheSuburban15 well, what if you don't like the look of the new WRX as much as this? I already have an older Imprezza and would much prefer this look and lower MPGs than the WRX. I'll likely go with this car as I'm trying to avoide speeding tickets as well.
Perfect car that doesn’t exist: 2024 WRX STI, hatchback 6 sp. I’m almost 50 years old and would trade my ‘22 mustang gt for this!
250 Chihuahua got me. Lol
give me a plug in hybrid version sometime in the next few model years, and I'll be excited to upgrade from my crosstrek. this redesign is really sleek, aside from the tablet in the dash.
