    In this video I cover the 5 base model features on a new Subaru. Many people are surprised to hear that Subaru includes navigation capabilities as a standard feature on the base model utilizing Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. You also get Subaru's Eyesight as a standard feature now so you have adaptive cruise control as a standard and lane keep assist/lane centering as a Subaru standard feature. Subaru standard features have many benefits with safety and convenience.

    YT suggest that video just in time . Yesterday I did this exercise comparing why I should buy a base model vs mid-tier. I am not paying for a sound system nor leather seats. Currently I am driving an old ‘Rolla 07 at 2200-2800 rpm’s. Decision to be made it’s about the engine I.e. a 2 or 2.5 L
    My eldest daughter may use this car as well.
    If anyone can give some input on which one to choose.

    How cool, thanks! Was out looking for a used AWD yesterday until the Subaru guy shocked me with the price for a brand new base model Impreza. Seriously? It's right in line with what I was prepared to pay for a used SUV! Just be aware, you can "only" change an flat tire on an AWD with the same size tire, also you can Not jack up the front putting the vehicle in neutral and roll just on the rear tires. Either of these scenarios will damage your viscous coupling. Also expect much lower gas mileage for an AWD than just an FWD......🏹🤠👍

    Question:
    Each time I am on a call on my 2022 Forester it is displayed in the infotainment screen and in the screen behind the steering wheel and it prevents from seeing my digital speedometer. Is there a way to prevent call information from being displayed on the screen behind the steering wheel so it doesn't prevent my digital speedometer from displaying?

    Alex, any recommendations for placing a dashcam on my Subaru ( ‘21 OB XT). I’ve read where you place it behind the rear view mirror ( not on side with hi beam detector). I’ve heard Subaru is installing Eyesight cameras so the dash mounted equipment won’t interfere anymore.
    Thanks

    • @alexpmo
      @alexpmo  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I haven't personally installed one, but I have seen others who have. It's important not to block your eyesight cameras. The 2022 Forester is the only one currently with the lower profile eyesight but I imagine this will be introduced in 2023 on other Subaru models.

    Question about the adaptive cruise control: When it automatically slows the car from lets say 70MPH to like 62MPH (Like if someone merges in front of you) - do the brake lights illuminate behind you? -- So the person behind you is aware you slow down?

    • @iakpwnzjoolol

      The Android auto wasn't available yet in 2016. You do however have the option to have an aftermarket radio installed that has Android. The potential downside to installing anything aftermarket is that it could void your warranty if you still have it.

    I had made this comment before but was wondering if you were able to figure out why it was happening. I was using the AHV if I have that right while I was in the waiting line to pick up prescriptions at Walgreens. Once I was done I believe I tapped my brakes or held my brakes causing my parking brake/emergency brake to engage without my knowledge. The first time this happened it took me a short while to figure out that this had happened. I could not figure out why I could not just drive off. Once I figured out the parking brake was engaged I turned it off. But then once again this happened in the same situation becoming engaged seemingly wants I used the brake first instead of just using the gas to drive off. Is there a reason to explain why this is happening? I have a 2021 Forrester.

    I just upgraded from my 1995 Legacy Wagon to a 2022 premium Forester. Quite a change, lol. Not sure I could have done it without your videos! On the '95 I could have just the vents open to bring in outside air without running heat or AC. I would adjust the fan to on and not turn on the heat or AC. Is there a way to do this on the '22? On nice weather days I'd rather not have to turn on AC and just have fresh air through the upper vents.

If the Outback had the 4.0 system, I would guess that it would also have the same 'surround' that the Forester Eyesight cameras have, and one would assume that it would also be equipped with Automatic Emergency Steering in the upper levels like the Forester, but that isn't mentioned in the owners manuals or any of the Subaru supplied documents that I've read.
