Duuuuude THANK YOU!!!!! Just got a 3d printer for Christmas. AMAZING VIDEO!! Explained clearly and in detail! You earned a follower!! Keep up the GREAT WORK!!!
Awesome. I’m glad I could help.
Hi Chris, thank you for the vids, they've been a big help. I'm new to 3D printing but with your helpful vids I'm getting it figured out and am making progress. I really appriciate all your hard work to teach people, Thank You!
Glad to help! Best of luck printing!
wow, excellent video! thank you for that 👍
Loved this video it was great knowledge 🎉
What an awesome teacher! This very subject has bugged me, and now I know all about it in this one video. Thank you :)
Wow. Thanks so much for the kind words. I’m really glad this could help you.
Thank you so much! AFAIK this is the best documentation on this topic, great job!
Wow thanks. Not gunna lie I had to look up that acronym. 😅. I’m really glad it could help you. And you taught me a new acronym. 😁
YOu are a RockStar Chris, Thank you for your help!
New to 3D printing and slicing. Amazing tutorial!
Thank you so much for your content
You're very welcome! Thanks for the comment
Great video for Begginers like me. Thank you.
Your videos are moving me to the next layer. Thank you.
Wonderful Doug! I'm glad they are helping you!
I really appreciate your videos man you've helped me out a whole lot!
Awesome glad to help!
Fantástico, me ha encantado tu vídeo y me ha ayudado muchísimo. Muchas gracias!!
Nice information right here. Thank you👍
The X-Ray mode of Preview is there for error checking. Somtimes there are gaps or flipped normals prior to exporting to STL, so in theory X-Ray is supposed to help see the errors Cura automatically warns you about.
That make sense. Thanks for the info.
Thank you very much for the very useful vídeo! 👏👏👏
very helpful huge thanks
Great video! I learned a lot. Thank you very much
No problem glad I could help.
Cant thank you enough for this 👍
Thank you so much for this video if I would have never turn my theme black I would have never saw all the orange it was showing this helped a bunch. Can you do a video on the choices for bed adhesive.
I’m really glad this helped you. Bed adhesion is a great topic. I’ll add it to the list. There are a lot of things you can do to help adhesion. I’ll try to do it soon.
Its realy helped me, Thanks...
Awesome glad it could.
I loved it. Expand upon the infill subject next! I want to know more about lightning vs gradual infill. I think Gyroid wears my printer out for no reason. What's the least we can infill???
That is a great topic! I can defiantly expand upon infill. I can do a few more experiments with lightning infill see where it works good and not so good. Gradual Infill is also a great thing to talk about. I'll add these to the list. Thanks!
What you think about cura 5? I currently use 4.13 should I switch or continue with 4.13. Still trying to figure it out with your help it makes it easier. Thanks as always Paul
Awesome video. Lots of helpful tips.
Curious though. If I'm seeing green and yellow in spots on the "final layer" like you sonic has, is it going to look bad? I've been under the impression I want it to be all red for a good print although it seems impossible lol
Wasn't sure if that meant I need to add more walls or what.
Thanks
Correct me if I'm wrong, but the red means you have somewhere where you need supports in there. You may need to tell it to generate supports. I like using the tree supports because they're both easier to remove and seems to use less materials.
I’m a newb to 3 D Printing and trying to learn - bought a Creality Ender 3 S1 Pro and would like the link to that model for my Grandson- just printed one off of thingtverse for him an turned into a 20 hr print it was covered in supports that I’m having a hard time removing- downloaded Cura and will give it a try
When I start doing my test prints witch do I go 1st stringing or angles?
And thnx for the video ❤️❤️
No problem. Thanks for watching!
what are the file links for that paint wall holders you got going on there?
I believe I understand the dark blue line on the travel line type is travel without retraction...
Dark blue is when the extruder is pushing filament. Light blue is traveling and not extruding.
Do you have a basic template for Cura you use to start a project? If so how do you determine what to change? I’m a nube printing for about two months and slowly upgrading my equipment as well as my knowledge. Thanks for the tips in this video!
Hi Glad you were able to get some good tips! You're on the right track actively trying to learn it will get you better prints faster. As for base settings I recommend watching my Cura Tutorial Playlist. The videos are in-depth explaining how I find my settings and I go over what I look at and changed every prints.
You can see the videos here: th-cam.com/play/PLv65CP2QM2rFHMu6OGJVkwC3ictFhB00n.html
Also, forgot to mention I'm currently trying to create a cheat sheet of the checklist items I focus on every time before I hit print. That is to come soon!
The checklist would be great. Us Nubes would have a way to make sure we start the prints right every time.
I have MacBook m1
And they said cura doesn’t support m1
How did u download it?
I do not have a M1 chip. My computer is a few years old.
Hey there! I was originally trying to figure out how to tell the printer to print different colors since I have an Ankermake M5 coming in about a month and they have a thing to print with 6 colors at once.... But I have absolutely no idea how to tell the printer which colors to use on different areas. Do you have any experience with this sort of thing?
I’m sorry I don’t. I do believe there are separate slicer programs that do it for you. I don’t believe Cura allows you to do that.
❤❤❤
😁
Hi my name is Tony,
I find your video's most helpful0, thank you for your Video's. I am new to 3D Printing. I just got my Viper printer, and i installed Cura on my Laptop. when it comes to scaling everything in Cura is in mm or %. iIprefer to print my files at a 1/6 scale. i have one that is 1/8th scale and an other one that is at a 1/4 scale. Cura will let you scale by a % or by mm.and i can't get it to print at the right 1/6 scale. what am i incorrectly doing?
can you help?
You can always make something at the correct scale and scale the model to match the right scale. Or if you know what size it actually is you could do the math to see how tall it would be in the scale you want.
I cannot change color scheme can you help
Sometimes Cura fills in my model, do you know why? Cura also sometimes ignores some of model
watched the whole thing and didn't even get to hear what i was looking for. if you change the top in color scheme to flow. what does the color bar mean at the bottom? What is the difference between blue and red and all in between?? any help would be appreciated
X-ray mode is for checking if the model is watertight.
Makes sense. Thanks for the info I’ll look into it more.
What does a comic book pattern mean?
Im going to try cura on my prusa printer it seems much easier to understand
The prusa slicer is great for prusa. Cura is great for everything. I feel like you have more control in cura vs. prusa slicer.
@@ItsMeaDMaDe You’re absolutely right one of the things that annoys me is when I want to have the print speed changed if I go to Prusa it doesn’t really break it down I’m not too sure what I’m slowing down but on Cura I could see every single thing that slows down and information about it
Well there are definitely pros and cons. It's nice sometimes to just hit print and forget it. With Cura sometimes there are just too many settings and you might forget to check something and the print doesn't turn out right. good and bad on both sides for sure.
@@ItsMeaDMaDe One of the things that I believe Prusa is really good at is changing filament colors, it’s basically put it where you want hit the plus Mark and that’s it.
😁
😂 right so many colors
Yes. Cura sometimes looks like a rainbow.
Changing a preference and closing the app down so that your preference is applied is the dumbest part of Cura
speed up just a bit I got bored 7 mins in after you spent 3 mins straight trying to explain why pla was yellow its all good info but speed up the format just a bit and youll retain more watchers people can rewind but those of us that are a little quicker feel like were watching paint dry just food for thought solid content tho and very informative
