    Will be a great pair with my M1 Macbook Air! I was going to buy the LG one you showed in the video but when i went to buy it it was out of stock so i went hunting for a similar one for the same price and after seeing all the lg alternatives being out of stock i saw this Dell. As far as i can tell this Dell monitor has smaller bezels, better color accuracy and overall it has a better build quality so im definitely getting this! I forgot to mention that both of these monitors have the same price of 600€ !
    This was a very informative review, thanks alot!

    I am very happy to see you picked out this specific Dell P3421W and rated it best. In the beginning of this year I purchased 3 ultra wide monitors and tested them out on my M1 Macbook Air. This Dell one was by far the best in terms of usability and screen quality. I love being able to use the USB-C dock on the back of the monitor without any issues.
    I think the price is quite steep, considering I paid 569 EU myself back in April.

    Totally agree with you about P3421W Ultrawide, surprisingly, there isn't many reviews about this monitor. However, comparing with the number of ports available, pricing is not really high if compared to those other brands that have USB-C port. Dell just came out another P3421WE, with ultraclear and RJ45 port with speakers...that unit's price is high!

    Using this monitor with my 2020 M1 Pro (Base Model). Here are some of my thoughts in this particular setup & monitor.
    + No issues in connectivity or colours.
    + Texts looks much sharper (coming from 24" 1080 dell IPS Panel)
    + Been using bettersnaptool for window mgmt & Brightness Slider to control external monitor brightness via macos.
    + Base plate + Stand is way sturdier/solid than it looks.
    + Macbook Charging is fine.
    + Built in USB hub is great for connecting accessories quickly.
    - Monitor doesn't have Audio Output Port and Ethernet port which would have been nice. I still use my regular all in one dongle for ethernet and laptop's native audio jack.
    - Some additional Type-c connectivity for accessories would have been nice
    - Smaller bezels would have been nice.
    - I only got 1 year warranty from my vendor although the Dell website says extended 3 years warranty. I will have to dig further into this.
    - Not related to monitor but you will miss TouchID unlock & webcam if you use your mac on clamshell mode. I need those so I have my mac opened up on side.
    Bottomline - definitely worth investing for a long run.

    Hey Mate,
    I bought a u3821dw but noticed OS X has issue with text scaling, found an app that’s easier to use then typing commands to reduce smoothing because when you disconnect or restart it it resets the font smoothing. Windows doesn’t have this issue. It’s something that many articles online complain about it. Many reviewers I think miss this, worse is 4k Uhd with scaling. That’s even a larger issue, hence why i returned the LG.

      Do you mean that for normal work, two screens still is as good or better than one large?

    • @yoshieuno
      @yoshieuno 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@patrickpaganini I think it depends on what you are using it for. The one screen is still better than two monitors. However, one 34 inch is the same as two 17 inch screens, and one 49 inch, is similar to two 27 inch monitors. I technically can only use one external monitor with my m1 macbook air ... as my personal and freelance computer, so even if I wanted another screen, it wouldn't work. My work setup is a macbook pro with my dell 34 and a secondary monitor to mimic a three monitor set up. Ultimately, I think it depends on what your workflow is and what you need. Personally, three monitors is great for me, because I have my massive screen in the middle for project windows and internet or whatever, teams on the second, and either email or my premiere pro program monitor on the third. I'll probably get another screen at some point when I either get the new macbook pro m1 max for clam shell mode or mac mini with m1 max, as my m1 macbook air is usable for freelance video editing, but 100% not ideal.

    I hope Dell corrected their color balance issues. My Dell monitor became unusable and uncoreectable after a year. I would look to LG, they have a working relationship with apple they have been solid for us.

    Hi. I have a Huawei matebook x pro 2020 with nVidia mx250. Will it be able to drive this monitor via usb-c? I cannot find answers online in either dell or Huawei. Someone wrote that in this resolution works at 30hz. Anyone tried it? I am just talking for office/youtube etc not gaming. Thanks

    Best to buy a used 4K monitor. After retina, seeing pixels is terrible. Ultra wide with pixels doesn’t really do much.

    Hi Mate, I bought a Dell S3424DWC monitor after watching your vids, purely because I wanted USB-C for my MacBook, it works well, works with my MacBook but is near IMPOSSIBLE to make the connection happen, it seems to require a magic nanosecond timing of the connection of the USB-C cable at both ends, takes me 50-100 or more goes to get it to detect a signal and start working, by that stage I never want to disconnect it.
    Any ideas????? Love your channel!!!

    • @CreatedTech
      @CreatedTech  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Try different cables, ports on your computer, or even a different computer to see if you can narrow it down. If your computer works fine with other USC-C stuff it could be an issue with the monitor itself.

    • @BlitzSilvia
      @BlitzSilvia ปีที่แล้ว

      @@CreatedTech reply much appreciated, will try a different cable, for some reason it keeps saying no signal detected from your device, even though it begins charging the MacBook,I've had it working on all 4 ports, and once it does work it continues to work fine, it's only ever an issue if I unplug it them in back to playing this plug/unplug game 🙏🏼

    • @CreatedTech
      @CreatedTech  ปีที่แล้ว

      Sounds like the USB-C port on the monitor could be a little out of whack. If you have to keep plugging it in and slightly wiggle it etc so it connects. Could be a damaged connector inside the USB-C port. But yeah definitely try a different cable or computer if you have one handy.
