    I've got one of those billet water pumps for the 250r i might have to try it out. I've got about 20hrs since my entire rebuild. Im going to be ordering some of Dave's/ led billet cases. Going to have Dave repair my matching cases for my org motor and put em aside. I know there aren't to many 250rs with thier orginal cases out there.

    14:38 the bearing you are showing is the 1989 needle style P/N: 91001-147-003 BEARING, NEEDLE (12MM), 1988 & 1987 used a revised multi-ball bearing design P/N: 22352-HB9-670 PIECE, CLUTCH LIFTER + x3 P/N: 96211-04000 BALL, STEEL (#4) , 1986 had the original single ball bearing type P/N: 22352-KA4-000 PIECE, CLUTCH LIFTER + P/N: 96211-09000 BALL, STEEL (#9) (9/32).
    I edited this post to put an end to any argument on which style came with each trx. 1989 is the only year that had the needle bearing for the clutch actuator rod. Not only is the rod different for 1989, so is the pressure plate that comes in the 1989 kit from Honda. The bearing shown in the video is not from an 88 like I originally said. Check Wikipedia, it even mentions the change in 1989, it is source #3. . Also, the service manual clearly shows all differences from 1986-1989, it is in the CLUTCH section page 7-0. THAT IS FACT, THAT IS THE END OF THIS.

      85-86 ATC/TRX used a single ball bearing under the clutch lifter. 87 TRX used 3 small ball bearings and are very rare to find in a machine as they failed right away and we replaced them with the 85-86 set up. 88-89 used the needle bearing clutch lifter and can be found using this part number 22351-HA2-000.

    • @steve069
      @steve069 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@davemooreracing 88 and 89 are different. In the video that is a needle bearing from the 89 upgrade kit Sabo probably purchased when he did Neils (rip) mod. I have an 88, click on one of my videos for proof.

    • @steve069
      @steve069 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@davemooreracing What do you mean, the last 4 videos should be proof that I have an 88. I did the 89 upgrade swap a few summers ago so thats why its still fresh in my head. Im not arguing with you over engine building, I am just stating the fact that the needle bearing is 1989 only, no other year had that. Service manual page 7-0 proves it. (edited had the page number wrong)

I know Him and Mike had a falling out but i met them both in person at the same time and took on Justin's project before everything happened. Nether one of them has asked me to pick a side nor have they talked badly about the other one to me so i treat them both the same way. I am a man of my word and unless you turn on me i am gonna build you something pretty amazing because for me its ALL about going fast brother.

    since when is it hard to install clutch plates? those stainless steel inserts seem janky AF though. who cares if you get grooves in the basket. that is easy to replace and only a couple hundred bucks. i dont like the thought of having extra parts in there that could potentially crack/break/come loose and cause havoc.
