- The COE is something that I get a lot questions about! So we figured it should be included in the beginning of my channel. Join me for a walk around of my 1953 GMC Cab over that has Big Block Chevy. It's got a tilt cab, leather interior, and LOTS of custom made goodies all over it!
Thank you all for following along!

The COE is going to be so wicked looking once you're able to finish it
I am so glad you found some time to work on your truck! I can't wait to see the final product, I am sure it will be cool! Thanks for sharing.
Dennis, wow …..just two words to explain this “ Bitchin’ Ride”
Yes! Back to the CoE, love what you are doing with it.
wow, what a cool machine ! DT ROCKS! I love the show..
This is what I have been waiting on. Coffee ready
Dennis, I used to think that i engineered stuff two steps ahead , but you are in another realm! Can't wait to see the final outcome! Keep up the great work!
The Mad scientists is at work again. the Fifty Five is Frankenstein the COE is Dracula all he needs is the Werewolf.
Dennis, this truck made my day! sure was glad to see it good that you fixed it up and make use of it that's the reason they made it! also it will take more than the new ones will they made this truck the way they should be strong! a friend of mine built a '56 Ford Coe with a rollback bed on it and built a '56 Ford pickup and hauled it all over the place he took it to a car show and it won cover of the magazine! he got ill and it sat in the garage after the man passed the family sold it and the other guy just tore it all up! dennis you are a "magical mechanic" the truck looks great! sounds good too! be nice when you get it all done! thank you dennis! sure do enjoy your videos! appreciate it!!
I dont know enough english words to describe the awsomenes of this thi err truck, so I just call it above awsome.
That's a badass truck.... well thought out!!
It's amazing how much you accomplish
euro trucks hinge on the same axis, or close to the steering column axis, with a long connecting sleeve, so maintenance isnt hampered by the cab litterally sitting 45° forward.
the whole process is done with a manual hydraulic pump with locks or by hand, depending on the cab size.
that's why you'll see handles on the windshield valence of some euro rigs. for leverage.
afaik you can steal an isuzu hinge mechanism, these are common in the us.
this is spectacular, but if you want to, you clearly have to room to relocate the hinge. and a long keyed/4 faced sleeve is within your skills clearly.
the lack of stacks and saddle tanks is criminal imho.
let's see it done.
As usual..a "Dennis Original" with great taste and style. Well thought out...expect nothing less of You.
Those lug nuts aren't my taste, but they scream attitude and fit you perfect.
Engine sounds great, the truck as a whole is a show truck, all the one off details, wow.
Loving this channel, keep it real.
Thanks Dennis for the extensive update! Functionality becomes a work of art! BTW - Apparently your shins aren’t as scarred up as mine from rear hitches 😂!
I appreciate the details you give, shows your passion. I am sincerely hoping you continue to bring us along and that you resist the temptation to morph into just informercials like many TH-camrs do. There are enough people showing off the hundreds of thousand of dollars of equipment companies have given them hoping viewers would go buy the products.
What a fantastic project, your attention to detail is awesome,I agree, old, maybe a little beat looking on the outside, but state of the art ass kicking underneath.
Definitely a "one of a kind "!!
Anxious to see the bed, that sounds very trick.
Thanks for the video.
Thanks for sharing the details. I can't wait to see the finished product. You're doing an excellent job on your channel. Keep it up! 👏 🙌
SHORTS you can always tell a museum quality fab guy by his shorts and shoes [lol] The camo [wranglers] and skaters are also my uniform, what a fun project as you know have done one heck of a nice job and the one thing so few forget about is your attention to future maintenance I did notice the headers right off. If you ever want to try something new is building your own batteries any shape and size, any amp size and you can split starting and accessories inside one battery with two bms's so you will never have a dead battery they are pretty much bullet proof. Just A thought, great job
Hey i used a gallon of engine oil and 1 qt of trans fluid . Painted on the wood and left overnight. Then washed off excess with water only. It soaked into the wood and always water just ran off like wax and did not get all over clothes. Plus I used the truck. It was petunia too like I am now. Wish I had it still. I now have a rich mans pickup.
Thats going to be one sweet COE! Really like the shifter!
Dennis so far everything you have done was just Bitchin BUT this shinny Patina (the only time Patina is shinny is during it raining or when it's being washed) after you pulled it out of the trees and washed it off and it dried it didn't look like that, I have been looking forward to you finishing this truck cause I knew that if you did it there was a guarantee that it was going to be Bitchin, I'm sorry but I am praying for you to get caught in a sandstorm that blast it just enough to get rid of that shinny, if you could have done it in a flat instead of the simi gloss, everything else is Bitchin and with the Art Deco trailer like I said if you were going to do it it's gonna be Bitchin
Bitch’n Truck, those bullet type lugs definitely make it mean and Chevy Orange painted block was also the perfect choice. BADASS ride Dennis.
When the hump / console area is totally finished it can be called a " dog-box, that's what truckers call that area on cabovers,,😊
I want to do something like yours not like everyone with a s10 frame. Very nice work you can see the thought and workmanship. Be very interested to see it finished
Thats $1,000,000 truck! Just beautiful! 👍
The COE deserves the love take your time and make it right. The patina look is perfect on that old iron. Your attention for detail is spot on keep up the good work and thank you for sharing the video.
Man I've been waiting to see it and it doesn't disappoint at all. It's a little strange not seeing Alex running around!!! Can't wait to see it finished!!!
Man Love the stuff you make awesome you explain all the details many ideas thanks!
Very Cool Build, and plans 4 the rest of it. Thanks 4 sharing it with us.
Beautiful Truck!
Being a truck driver I love the spikes ❤
I love your idea of a short video lol... Love the content! Thanks so much for starting this channel... What you do is so uncommon these days and it's great you're sharing it FINALLY!
I also love the lug nuts Dennis. I'm 81' and have love cars/trucks all my life. I watch all your family video's. Jim Rio Vista, CA
Well this old guy(I'm 66 years young) thinks you need to make spinners for the log Nuts. Like small little Knock off wheel nuts from the 50s and 60s. It your truck and your time and money spend building it, So build it anyway you like. And has Jeff Lutz say Put it in the comments and then just ignore the haters. Are you going to make it a dump Bed? I think a pick-up style bed or a dump truck style. Both would be bitching on it. Just throwing some ideas out there As I'm sure your vision will be cool as well. I like your beer Kegs for fuel tanks but the inboard fuel tank is much safer. So why not use smaller Kegs and make them Air tanks, and the big air horns and the ride can use the air as well. The air powered rams to lift the cab and the tilt bed.
fantastic dennis-love the sound of those mufflers. the petina is in all the right places! also love the idea of the oak bed. I knew if you ever got time to work on the coe it would be bitchen. shout out to mrs taylor and meg for their work!-charlie from van buren,Ar.
Just a thought for a quick disconnect steering, instead of bolts. How about 'shirt tail' engineering a heavy duty version of the steering wheel disconnect in the 55? Then you won't need a wrench.
Beautiful truck with some awesome engineering. I would like to see an in depth walk around video; just like this video of the race week trailer for the ‘55. I have a feeling the design and engineering that went into that goes far beyond what any of us think.
I can't wait until it's done, I get more impressed with your knowledge and skill with every video. Great job
This is the most crazy awesome thing I have ever seen. Great video, thanks for showing this. Like everybody, I've been wondering where this project went. Would like to have seen this kind of a detail video on that Roadster build and if there is one I didn't find it. It's only when you show all of this that people can actually begin to even imagine and appreciate what you can do and it is truly amazing.
That’s badass! You’re a master at what you do! I’ve been waiting on the update for this. 🔥🔥🔥
You could have used a Mack W model, cabover, slip shaft between cab and box. I use to do all the power steering work. Shafts had a long teavel.
Farm out the electric windows for the doors to Paul at Fab Rats he just did a pair for his 49 Chevrolet off-road wrecker. 2:51
You do some amazing work. Don’t be surprised if jay Leno reaches out to you 😊
So well thought out, love your (seat of the pants) engineering style!
I’ve been waiting for this to get finished
Hey I'm an old person and I love those lug nuts. Would hate to bang my shins into em but I still love them. Dude that is one cool build of course everything you build is OG cool.
It doesn’t matter what anyone else thinks about the lug nuts or anything else you’re building it your way and it is awesome! Thanks for the video.
Don't make them aluminum. If there is an accident on the road it's going to really shred someone.
Man you are doing what I have always wanted to do tinker with old iron I love it . Alsome job and a hell of a lot of hard work. Well done sir ...
Has to be the most badass genius Mr Taylor a true God to engineering and hot rod building
it is an outstanding truck love the big block verry verry cool
Well now I just can’t wait to see it finished. It does look fantastic!
You’re very talented brother, you knocked it outta the park again!
Dennis just oozes cool, he is a cool guy and it's oozing into his cool truck.
Getting a coe has been my ultimate dream since the first time I laid eyes on one
Thanks Dennis! I'm a young 57 years old and enjoying what you do. I grew up at Orlando Speedworld from the 80s and moved on. Drag bikes and drag cars are my passion. Some people don't get it but Thanks.
Fellow Floridian here. Grew up just south of Orlando Speedworld. Great racetrack.
Hey I’m Florida
I raced go karts there
Dennis, any fuel management concerns with the big flat tank?
I remember him detailing the problems on 1 of Alex's vids a couple of years back but I don't know how you'd find it!
It all got sorted at the time though - that's the main thing.
Cool as Nice work Dennis , No annoying music thank you .
Beautiful work on your classic COE!
Have waited a LONG time to see an update/episode on this !
i remember the front wheels and in a vlog a long time ago sweet looking truck
As a old Mack Trucks mechanic, who worked on many of B models with doghouse's, and restored a few 40's Trucks. I can tell you I'm impressed. I use to convert old Trucks (12 & 24 v) to late-model wiring with circuit breaker. One I restored, i left the dents in the roof, where they stood watching loading & unloading. I saw no vent to the tank, or is the caps vented? Hope your running boards don't encounter and obstacles, would be a loss of what looks to be a great build.
A safety is used on one of the cylinders on cab overs. It's basically a piece of channel that pivots off the front of the cylinder and drops in front of the housing. If you ever have a line break raising it, you'll see why the safety is needed. They come down fast when a line breaks.
The careful thought that has gone into this truck. 🏆
Really enjoyed this, thankyou!
Thats rad man. And sounds b!+chin
Wow. One of the coolest trucks I’ve ever seen.
Well done! Vision and tenacity= Wow!!
Truly going to be a beautiful build
As always. Fantastic work. 😁
Fantastic, that was a long wait,
Awesome engineering Dennis
It looks amazing!!
hi Denis,i"ve posted before,i had 55,early sixtys, could you build like alex's or your blue 55 sitting in the corner,COULD YOU BUILD SAME car without computer
That is a very well thought out build like all your stuff I'm really glad you started this Channel I enjoy watching you work and and the way you build different things. Is that a GM block that 520? I didn't know you could go that big I know you can build a 505 with a stock GM block .thanks for the video. Your friend from Louisiana Rick 427
What is it, Alex says all the time stay pretty go fast and we'll see you later., I like what you said before, stay grumpy,Sit down and rest and we'll see it later. Ha ha.😂😂😂😂😂 Love that cab over man. That's cool. There's lug nuts are awesof 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
I love this channel. It's like when your distant family comes to town and asks you about your project build. Dennis loves talking about this stuff, and I love being here.
I love that truck, if I had the Gozillion Dollars, I would have you build me one. Nice work, loving the description.
Such a cool truck...it's functional art. Definitely looking forward to seeing how the bed and final touched come together!
What a Great Piece Of Engineering.. So Well Done.. Really looking forward to seeing this truck done.. ( one lil thing .. To Me ?? ).. Those Lug Nut Covers ?? are just Silly .. Now.. That being said.. This Truck Is Going to Be Great...
What a great build
Just got home from work and relaxing and watching your video , thank you Dennis
I love what u do !!
That's what I'm doing with our 53 international. Patina and everything new inside and under the hood. I had a cabover f900 fire truck I wanted to do a hotrod also after we were Done using it for work but unfortunately we had just bought the international and I couldn't do that many projects also didn't have the room for it to sit around. It had a 534 gas motor too that I really wanted to build😢
Dennis is amazing!
Outstanding Dennis! True craftsmanship but ah'd expect nothing less! Great video, like visiting a friends shed, tho here in Scotland oor shorts are less of an option this weather!
It’s too cool 👍👍
i was never A GEAR HEAD just like speed, back then, these cars are my age hope i can run as well
Dennis, i have never said anything like this before. I believe that you may be the most talented car guy I have ever seen. Your builds are always amazing but this one is the best yet. Just amazing sir. your talent, creativity and every adjective I can think of is the best that I have ever seen. Just amazing!
Anyone who doesn't like those lugs is just plain wrong. They are awesome as is the rest of the truck.
Dennis the attention to detail is incredible. Those little things like the custom made clamps to hold the power steering lines and little pieces like that are what I think is the best part of the build. Making everything look like it belongs there. Love it, keep up the great work my friend!!
Nice try google youtub Nice truck One man's lugnut are another mans crap
I like those lug nuts also Dennis! You made my day when i got to shake your hand at the last day of Drag week! You are an amazing guy with a great family.
That is going to be one bad ass truck Dennis . I can't waite to see it completed and I am so glade to see it has a Big Block Chevy engine and not a Diesel engine . I don't have anything against a Diesel engine thy have there place but not in a hotrod in my opinion. You are very talented my friend .
Thanks for this update, it would look so good with a skirted rounded edge and corner flatbed, pipeliner style.
Masterpiece
Wish I was talented enough to build something like this. Fun fun fun
I totally love it Dennis. She has great chop with the old school flow masters.
Dennis
You could look for some barn rough sawn barn board. Man we think alike
Everything but the pointy lug nuts is cool. They are soooo yesterday and distracting
Put a switch in line to cut power to the pump before it strains the pump
