Thank you for watching! 🤘 The motor in the video is a 1987 Honda TRX250R but these techniques can be applied to most bikes and quads and will work no matter what clutch you're installing. Kinda ironic we were just talking about clutching lol. Very helpful video, I have more confidence doing my own. Waiting on tax's but I'll let you know how it works out bud
This is part 2 all over again? Anything on how to stack gear sets and check them? Or info on the welded crank tins and pins? Maybe go over the 3 kinds of counter balancers?
I figured this info was valuable to more than just the 250R group and wanted to give it it's own video for guys searching for it that may not see it in my 250R build series
Hey Michael you should build a hybrid like those videos you would make that’s would be an awesome series to watch hopefully you see this but keep up the videos man there awesome!!!
Solid stuff here, Sabo! Loving the technical engine building content. I’m in the middle of my R now and hopefully I’ll learn from at least one of the things you ran into :-) I’d buy you a beer any day for going through all the trouble!
Good stuff man, real knowledge of function and set up that can be very useful on most any Quad/Bike. Having an experienced guy like Dave tell you why he likes a $$ parts performance, means more than just how to put it on, but the real world "what to look for, and why" might be more important when you are just making do with what you got, Nowattameen? Slick video as usual,✌
Thank you Leo! I figured this info was valuable to more than just the 250R group and wanted to give it it's own video for guys searching for it that may not see it in my 250R build series.
Mike, love the vids! I’m fairly new to the sport quad world. But what quad would you buy to be one and done? Just picked up a 06 raptor 700 from a buddy at work, ended up needing new crank just like yours. And programmer. Anyways looking for a second one, what would you recommend?
Thank you for watching my videos man! It depends what you're looking for. Your Raptor is a great quad once you get it going. If you're looking for something more nimble and snappy, you can't go wrong with just about any 450. If you're looking for something that you don't have to worry about parts being available I'd stick to a YFZ450 or a TRX450R. Hope this helps man!
Hey Michael, do you have any planned content coming up for the banshee? I miss seeing it on the channel. I don't mind the other content, but nothing beats a banshee :)
To get the kit for the 250R, you need to order it directly from Rekluse, Rocky Mountain doesn't carry it yet. Here's the link - rekluse.com/product/torqdrive-clutch-pack/

For the banshee crowd who's making a lot of power and still wants a stock clutch lever feel, run 6 oem springs and a lock up👍

That's a great idea; one of these days I will do one!

Haha, I appreciate it man and I'm glad you're enjoying the tech videos!
like for Dave Moore to take a look at the banshee motor
Dave works pretty much exclusively on 250Rs these days but I would check out Cameron at Redline Racing for you're Banshee!
Stock Honda. They seem to contaminate the oil fast. I love those SS tabs that come with the recluse clutch.
Good vid how bout some "making quads cool again" t shirts with your logo on front

For sure man, I appreciate the feedback! Thank you for watching!
Crazy good information, my clutch doesn't feel like there much to pull there ☹️ I'm gone need to try attend to it
Love your vids man
Great video Mike! I would love to have a built 250r someday😀
Tyler Shore thank you for watching! 🤘
@@MichaelSabo Yeah man thank you. I love riding too! 👍
Make a video on transmission install that’s the hardest part for most people it scares me lol
They're definitely scary. Most service manuals have a breakdown with the exact orientation of the gears, shims, clips etc which helps a lot.
Yea they have a brake down but the illustration isn’t the best and it’s easier too watch sombody explaine that too look for etc
First part of a "Best of Sabo" series?
Thank you Leo! I figured this info was valuable to more than just the 250R group and wanted to give it it's own video for guys searching for it that may not see it in my 250R build series.
Now you just need a Sabo rekluse discount
I tried for one! If I get one in the future it will be posted
Helping out the algorithm
Thank you Drito Chavez!
Nice vid

Thanks for the reply!
Is the Slingshot lockup not popular anymore?
I'm not sure how many people use them; as far as I know they're still offered and a good choice at least on Banshees.
Hey Michael, do you have any planned content coming up for the banshee? I miss seeing it on the channel. I don't mind the other content, but nothing beats a banshee :)
Yes, there will be a banshee series later this year; total overhaul drag build
Thumbs up man!
Thank you OKC MoparGuy!
What kind of clutch do I run? A filed clutch basket with tusk plates cuz I’m a cheap ass. Wbu?
Lol that design is nice with the steel inserts tho.
Dude, that's EXACTLY what I run in my KFX450R and it works great lol. The Rekluse takes the cake for high HP and longevity though!
@@MichaelSabo Hey I mean if it works it ain’t stupid. I really do like that Rekluse with inserts though. Worth the money for the stainless inserts.
What would you say is the best year of the bugeye 400ex
I don't know of the differences from 99-04 but I would say 04 being that it would have all the bugs worked out if Honda had any.
@@MichaelSabo that's the year I was going to get but I wasn't sure thank you for your opinion on that.
Let s go!
I think the yz125 I just bought has a bad head gasket. How would I test it without taking the head off?
Check compression and see if there’s coolant on the plug.
@@backwoodsmx3274 👍, it drips water out of the power valve vent too
Does it smoke white and smell like burnt coolant?
@@loganflorida462 what does burnt coolant smell like? It does smoke quite a lot.
What's the plug look like and what's your mix ?
What kit are you using
Rekluse doesn’t show that torqdrive kit for 250r
It only shows bikes 2002 and newer 🤷🏻♂️

👍🏻💯
Man was that video useful
You have already shown this
Some people want to know how to just install and adjust a clutch, they don’t want to have to search through a video to find it.
He’s making it a specific video because this is a more common job than a full engine build
Yes, exactly; thank you guys
💩 Mike, this video says nothing about the unique recluse clutch setup. It’s just the same content from your other video.
