7 years on my 2017 Ford Everest is still going strong. I didn't have any major problems with this car, the only issue that i had was the aircon actuator that i recently replaced after 7 years of everyday use. Now my Everest is already 137000 km on the clock and still no issue what so ever. Always serviced every 10k km. I won't sell it just yet, maybe another 10 more years. Still cheaper to service a old car than buying a new one.
That is a great looking Ford! I had never even heard of that model until I stumbled onto this review. Seems pretty legit: low range, rear locker, and it arears to have a solid rear axle. Nice. Here in the US Ford seems to have given up on offroad capable SUV's, all we get here are car based crossovers such as the Escape, Edge, and latest Explorer, and land barges like the Lincoln Navigator/Ford Expedition.
Does the 4x4 work in sand mode and grass, gravel and snow mode? Because in my 4x4 2.2 MT, when I select the sand mode or the grass mode, the front differential does not shows active on the instrument panel and only the rear differential is shown highlighted. Awaiting your guidance!
Pathik Panchal hi i m also interested in buying the same model. Please tell whether its worthy or not bcoz there is no review available of mt 4x4 version.
kedar fulambrikar hi. Definitely worthy. Manual 2.2 does not makes you feel under powered where as automatic one feel under powered. Very silent car, amazing steering, no bumpy 3rd row and so many flaws of elder models are eliminated. Good to goo vehicle. However, I have not tested its off-roading skills yet.
kingAli it can do even better. It doesn’t have sophisticated electronics like LC or LR but does any terrain with ease although the driver needs to be skilled.
From what I understand, it is based on the Ford Ranger and thus has no center differential, only a transfer case which can switch between RWD, 4WD, and 4WD Low Range. The rear differential has a lock (which he switches on at about 4 minutes into the video). He does say "lock the center differential" at one point in the video, but I think that is a mistake. He also says that the rear differential lock "splits torque between the rear wheels", so I guess he's just not very familiar with 4WD in general.
+Tony Stark It's better to activate the hill descent control, cause it will help to give the car the optimum use of the brakes. I've seen cars had their brakes overheated going downhill, cause they were using too much of it. Moreover, if the technology is already there in your car, why not use it.
Have you guys heard any reports about the engine suddenly shutting off at low speeds and at a low rpm ? I myself experienced it more than 10 times already and the check engine light doesn't even illuminate. ( Im from the Philippines btw )
th-cam.com/video/Yg8xWF9cApk/w-d-xo.html this video from 1:29min mark shows how the Everest struggles to climb a rocky slope and is a better representation how it compares to the benchmark Toyota Prado.
I still prefer using "levers" and getting out to lock my front hubs. Too many electronic crap to go wrong and not a hard core off roader. Hill start assist is nothing new at all. It was invented by the Studebaker motor corporation back in 1947 and now everyne is raving about the new Hill Start assist . IT ISNT NEW !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! My Toyota 4runner would get up that hill without using lockers. Just a show pony the Everest.

Hi is this a full time 4*4 suv ? Does it have a centre differential? Is the normal driving mode 2 wheel drive or is it an all wheel drive ?
