Simple equation, buy the Prado if you cannot afford a 200 series, buy a Pajero sport if you are on a budget, go for the Everest if you want to tell stories in the future about your unpleasant experience with Ford dealers.
the only thing these kinds of car reviews never test is long term reliability, availability of spare parts and resale value..which is where the Toyotas seriously win!!
I think they had dpf issues in Australia, plus all these vehivles have plenty of dealers. Please explain the resale value proposition, why pay more for something in the first place and be happy because sells at a higher price later.
Vinsky Gash in our country theres a new facelited version of everest the above mentioned in video is an old one and the everest is named endeavour and endeavour/everest is at same price as fortuner and pajero sport is just a bit cheap (no one buys it due to no brand value ) and prado is priced more then twice the fortuner 👻 as its imported in our country
I totally agree about spare parts , service and re sale nobody can beat a Toyota but when it comes to features , comfort , drivability and every aspect I would rate pajero sport even higher than prado and Everest wins every review easily and fortuner easily comes last as Toyota cars are overpriced for what they are offered
Had a PajSport for a while now. Spent the difference in price on some offroad mods and it is now quite capable. Why anyone would spend so much more on the others is beyond me. Did a lot of research and am yet to find anything where they are having any sort of issues which can't be said of some other brands. Brother has a "real" Pajero and it has been absolutely bulletproof with much hard work and offroading thrown at it. Same as the previous one he had. Best feature of mine is that the Mrs loves it. Not sure if you can order that feature when you buy one though.
Been looking at a 2015 Pajero Sport 2.5 for abit and seriously thinking of buying, it's got 105 000 on it and it's abit cheaper than a Ranger same year with 142 000 on it. I really like the Ranger but I'd rather find one with less kms on it. The Pajero Sport I'm looking at is right within my price range Ive grown to live Mitsubishi lately and this one has mileage low enough for me to feel safe. Anything to watch our for? As a Pajero Sport owner, do ya think I should just go right ahead and buy it? Also what's the mod price like to make it into a basic tourer?
@@vanderz1012 Hi mate. I have had mine for a couple of years now and very happy with it although it has only done about 26k. I'm assuming the 2.4 lt motor as the 2.5 is the older engine in the Tritons. The 2.5 is supposed to be a dog if you need to do the timing belts or something on it but that is just what my mechanic said. I looked and couldn't find any known issues with the engine, trans or whatever and no one saying that they had had problems. The 4wd system etc is a carry over from the Pajero which is very good. My brother has had 2 Pajeros from new, hammers them and uses them hard and has never had an issue. That is the Pajero though. I have put Old Man Emu susp. with about 2" of lift, Bridgestone A/T, an ARB bar, cargo barrier, GME radio with unit in dash and controls on handpiece and a roof rack. Please don't ask me about the roof rack........... Car is still comfortable although a bit more choppy with the heavier susp. and tyres but I don't mind it. We can still do long distances and get out fresh. A few things to think about with mods. Front axle load weight isn't particularly high, roof load limit is 70kg so be very careful which rack you choose and overall GVM isn't particularly high. Mine is about 100 kg under GVM with my gear in it but I don't run much heavy gear. In reality if I put 5 decent sized guys in it with what I have it would likely be overweight. Fuel capacity isn't very high but it is reasonably economical. Personally I think it is a good vehicle, especially for the price but make sure it has been serviced properly and get it checked etc. Good luck with your decision and I guess my answer is, after my war and peace effort, is that I would buy another one if I was looking again. If you get it let me know as I know a couple of little tricks you may like to use. Cheers mate.
Yea I don’t think these guys ranked them properly overall. Because if you factor in price, then the Everest falls down. Easy to say a car costing over $15k more than another is better
I know it's been 2 years since your comment but it still is relevant up to this day, right now I'm planning on buying the 2022 Black Series of Pajero Sport (commonly known as Mitsubishi Montero Sport here my country), I don't know if Pajero is still on production line in your country but here in Philippines they are still going with different variants every year. great value for money indeed.
More than half of my family drives Toyota's, and I drive a hilux myself but I feel in recent years Toyota relies more on their reputation (which has been well deserved), rather than providing customers with good bang for their buck. Pajero Sports clearly show that you can get a great vehicle at a decent price, and Everest shows that innovation may not be dead yet. Prado has always been a favourite of mine but I hear more stories of it being underpowered and having other issues with vehicle and dealerships, it doesn't seem worth it. Also, I'm a manual transmission lover...so all these great off-roaders in auto without a manual option just depress me.
You can drive in an out of any wilderness in a Ford, it all depends on how capable you are as a driver, how well your vehicle is maintained and how it would be fitted out to tackle clearance and traction for this so called wilderness. Incompetent drivers come up with these analogies about Toyota being invincible and Ford being trash when they would be destitute no matter what truck they drive.
I test drove all these cars a year ago ( including the MUX ) expecting to buy the Prado at the end of it. The Everest (Trend 2ltr bi-turbo) was hands down the nicest, quietest and most responsive of the lot. It was a pleasure to drive, so we bought it and havent looked back. For all the Toyota fan boys in the comments, have a drive of all of them, then comment.
350k miles in prado .... no issue... offroad pretty much ever day cuz the parking gate of my building is at a side with no road access as they haven't been built yet 🙃. Also I have driven the fortunur TRD and I agree with the video on that part.
If there is any issue with Toyota's they will fix it before warranty run out they won't wait till the warranty run out, like other cars. My 200 blew it engine at 70000 and Toyota replaced it no questions asked. Then blew it again on 120000 and they replaced it again but took 4 weeks. Now I have a brand new engine and running like new. I can't say this for other cars.
Everest continues to receive great review. What puts me off is the Ford build quality compared to Toyota. How many 20 year old Fords do you see on the road compared to 20 year old Toyotas... I guess its not an issue for those who throw their cars away after 5 years
I'm no brand slave. How many old Prados do you see? Almost zero. This is maybe a good argument for the 100/200 series, where you do actually see many on road.
I'll take the prado anytime...it's more composed and it's more bang for the buck due to its value and realiability...ford does a good job on designing the everest...but i'll always suspect their built quality...specially their transmissions...
I think Pajero deserved better ranking. It had the best fuel economy, most safety features in feature comparison, is the cheapest of all, and practicality was good as well. It's strange they ranked it the third...!
It seems like the testers just refuse to give credit where it is due for the Pajero and take points of off for stupid things like "gruff edges" whatever that means. $15k cheaper, better transmission than ALL of them, better safety features and luxury items, great durability and reliability. Better in all the things that matter, but comes in third?
Ford Everest 3.2L Titanium owner here from India. My first Ford vehicle ever and no complaints what so ever in my 2.5yrs 50k kms of ownership. Running butter smooth and always a joy to drive.👍
I have been a machanic for 15 years Working for lexus dealer for a few years now running my own workshop I would like to share my experience what I would buy 1. Parado 👉 Reliable unbrakeable fuel efficiency 👍 Transmission super strong most reliable 2. Forturner 👉Engine and transmission very reliable hold in price because it’s good car!! 3. Pajaro 👉 Nice interior cheaper for the money engine has bad design on EGR faulty 4. Everest bad Transmission not holding value due to lots of fault and bad customer service Conclusions 👉Toyota sell them self no need to pay someone to advertise great warranty holding in price!! But has bad diesel injector issue hopefully they will fix that issue Ford (shitbox all machanic know) Pay a lots for advertising the car doesn’t sell them self not holding value!! Overpricing Thanks for your time reading this out !!
I have an Everest and can say the thing is brilliant at everything we need. I tow 2.5 ton with it, use it off road frequently and live on a rough gravel road. I have torchered it for three years now and 70,000kms yet it has been faultless and comfortable.
You wont be saying this when your over powered 2 lt blows up... it will happen its a hand grenade .... but good luck i dont wish it on anybody and it will never hold any value like the prado either 😜👍
70,000km is nothing as long as you've kept up the servicing, regardless of how it's driven, with the exception of the true lemons, common rail diesels start showing their true colours around 150,000km, that's when you see which ones were built to last (of course most people upgrade to a new one before this, so it's usually the second owners that get to find out how reliable they are).
Sat in the 3rd row of the Everest with my brother (we are 182cm and 181cm respectively). We were fine for the 30km trip. Those seats are usable for anyone up to our size.
In India, you can get 2 ford Everests at the price of one Toyota Prado. Also, Ford Everest is the best car everywhere, but not off-road and this is due to its weight. It is very very heavy. And it's not reliable.
I usually see comments about people claiming Ford pays to get good reviews but you can't ignore the Everest I love how capable and comfortable it is the others are good too but I'd pick the Everest any day
We’ve looked at all and by far the most luxurious is the Ford, it’s just a nicer place for the family on big off-road trips. I’ve both lived and worked in the Pilbara in NW Western Australia for 16 yrs. Toyota rules supreme in this landscape which is arguably the harshest environment on the planet. We’ll go through a set of Bridgestone 697LT tyres on a Hilux in 20000km - that’s to the canvas. Most of the time we operate the Hilux with just about every warning light on the dash, have done for years until we can get them to the workshop. DPF issues are a pain and without a workshop a Hilux out here would be dead within 6 months........but no civilian would ever put a Hilux through what we put them through and we have 2 Hiluxs that are still going after nearly 250000km of severe use - with lots of servicing though on the side. We also run the 76 and 79 series and and the company has just taken delivery of some brand new dual cab 79s - they don’t like deep water and we’ve had some issues in the past through bad wet seasons but again, no civilian would ever use a vehicle like we do. We have been seeing a lot of tradies driving Isuzu’s and Rangers at many mine sites over the years now which speaks volumes also for those vehicles in the Pilbara environment. For me it’s comfort and capability. All are very capable but the Ford will do it in a business class environment for the entire family. And with the warranties these days the consumer is the big winner for peace of mind. I love my Toyota’s and have travelled around Oz in an old 40 series including the CSR and have owned many other variants. For us though the next vehicle will be the Ford Everest Titanium🤘🤘 Great video too gents, thoroughly enjoyed it.
Can I ask what type of mod's do you put on one of them like the 76 79 Hilux and the Prado? I know you have to put like rops on it for the mines but do you have winches on them or stuff like that?
I am going to get a Ford Everest tomorrow (14-Sep-2020) after watching this review I think I made right decision for choosing Ford. I don't care about reselling I only care about safety and technology.
dont you get it, this video is sponsored by ford because there is no way a landcruiser either prado or 200 could be beaten by a unreliable ford and very ugly
@@dabanyaseen3018 Yeah that's right, spot on, 100% I just watched 5 other reviews which must have been paid for, because the Prado didn't win those comparisons either Spare us your ignominy
Careful, Australia. Here in the USA, we started valuing “ease of use” and “3rd row comfort” over beefcake frames and reliability. Now we’re surrounded by crossover Kias and Fords that are rolling dumpster fires that can’t keep up with our dilapidated infrastructure.
Fear not mate, a fact they rightly don't state here so as to not appear biased is the Prado is easily the highest seller in Australia in this segment. For good reason.
@@Wazzaozzyskier im in the UK and the Prado (named Shogun Sport here) is fantastic value. Hoping to get one in next couple of years to last a very long time indeed.
@@oddities-whatnot A bit of an error there. In the UK the Shogun will be the Pajero here in Oz. The Prado is sold as a Landcruiser there in the UK. Thanks.
I’ve been doing research for over a month now as I wanted to get a Pajero Sport (Montero Sport in my country). Toyota with Fortuner really relies only on brand reputation maybe because in ALL of the reviews I have seen Pajero comes on top of the Fortuner and many others SUV of its category. I decided to go for it and now I’m just waiting for the delivery of my car.
My aunts ford explorer brakes and steering just broke in the middle of the road,my uncle always took good care of that car and they bought it new so thats that.
@@Wazzaozzyskier I beg to differ. The company takes part in the Dakar rallies in order to thoroughly put their cars to real life, tough conditions (not the simulated ones). Thats where the bulk of their research and development takes place. They distill all their findings, improvements, and introduce them into their road cars.
@@janeverasammy8625 sure but the dakar cars are nothing like the road cars, except for the stock vehicle class, which the Toyota Landcruiser has been dominating since the 90’s
3 minutes in the video and i knew they are cheering for everest and badly wanted to bring the fortuner down. For me. All of them are fantastic. I would love to have any of these.
Yeah true... It had the best fuel economy, more safety features in feature comparison, is the cheapest, and practicality was good as well. Its strange they ranked it third...!
Yes and don’t forget .. Mitsubishi own Toyota- both great Japanese makes. And Isuzu MU X is also part of the Mitsubishi/Toyota dynasty Can’t go wrong with these 4WD makes.
Thank you for this. A very thorough review and I’m confident that there is no bias. I’d love to buy a ford Everest based on this review but I’m interested in a long term purchase. Durability of the Everest hasn’t been proven and when I google search the subject you find a variety of posts that talk about issues with this car down the track. Whereas the Toyota seems to have much better reputation in this department. This review represents a new car only...i would love to see you guys do a review of these cars at around 100,000 km mark
I got prado 2010 so quite old , love it! easy to drive , and you can drive i think everywhere;) I was shock few times quite a limousine on off roads :) i got 190hps so its quite responsive like for its weight
In Indonesia, Pajero Sport is the best selling rugged SUV. Good value and more features than Fortuner. The prado doesn't count because it's 3 times more expensive. But If i were in Australia, i would choose Prado no doubt.
It is indeed the best comparison of these finest off roaders on you tube so far. You guys covered almost every thing. Your ranking is also very precise and accurate. If we add up durability, I am sure Prado would be the over all winner. PS I drive a 2005 Prado 🙏👏👏👌
In India we get Everest (endevour) fir 40lakhs rs while the prado for 85lakhs rs ... Which is more then double, while fortuner costs same as everest because toyota enjoys the premium prizing in India... So ford endevour for the win
the LandCruiser is good since it has an option for mud and sand and the others such as wilderness that helps it In adapting to the environment and the habitat by the way if the land cruiser got stuck in the sand there are many ways for that to happen, but it does have an option for that too it is called a crawling system I think that if they took all of these cars to the middle east and went to the desert the Pajero and the ford not offending but it would face troubles because it doesn't have a lot of buyers in the middle east so it doesn't really focus on enhancing there but the Prado, Fortuner, LandCruiser and the Nissan patrol have contact with the middle east so there the ford and the Pajero will face some problems and they might have some issues because they are kind of low and in the sand and hard off-road terrain's you need the car to have a larger axel for the weels and not really important for having headspace other than that the ford that they concluded to be the winners have the not so hard habitat so city roads will be the best option for them to focus on other than that if the car has a high price it is logical for its parts and maintainace to be at a slightly higher price than normal, yes, it might be cheaper for them in the united states because this car was acctuaqlly manufactured there so it will ofcors be easier to take it for one place to another and to sell it also the head cuarters might be focused there and that is all what i can comment so far
Why dont reviewers ever point out Mitsubishi's super select 2 system? You can drive that pajero sport as a fulltime 4wd on road if you wish to, which is far better then having the system permanently on when not needed.
I've got a few questions: 1. Does any of these have 'brake hold' function at a stop? How often do you stop at a red light vs how often do you go to the bush? 2. Does any of them offer stop and go cruise control? How often does one go to work vs how often does one travel on an open road in a leisurely manner? 3. Which one of these have steering tilt and reach adjustments? What about electric seat adjustments? How often is there a person in the driver seat vs the third row? 4. What about their towing capacity? How easy or hard is it to fit a child seat? 5. What are the details of after sales support/service interval/spare parts/resale value? 6. When will an Australian car review be even remotely as good as a US or UK car review?
Everest for towing and daily commute and some off road & Prado for towing and off road. I took Prado for drive on road and found that accelerating took forever. I wish they would improve the performance of this engine.
I am amazed how many times reviewers never knock the Pajero Sport narrow small drivers seat. I sat in all these and found the Pajero the tights of all to be driving and in.
We drove one today (test drive) and I found that exact issue. We currently own a MQ Triton and looking to upgrade. We drove a Prado as well and really liked it. I wish the Pajero Sport had much better drivers side room. It wasn't a bad car to drive, infact it was nice but that tight confined drivers side space would be uncomfortable an hour into a long trip anywhere. What a shame Mitsi.....
Brilliant review... I'm stll comparing cars to buy.. Finally a review that's not biased, im not a Ford fan, but so far it's been the most comfortable, best value option were tested... the latest fortuner would be great to test with the everest one on one please....
@@sams1550 the only thing these kinds of car reviews never test is long term reliability, availability of spare parts and resale value..which is where the Toyotas seriously win i quote @vinsky gash
Currently, the Ford Everest Titanium has an advertised drive away price of $80,149, Toyota Prado GXL $65,181, Toyota Fortuner $62,709, and the Mitsubishi Pajer Sport Exceed $59,990. I think it would be an improvement if the review included the drive away price from the manufacturer's own websites along the MSRP price. That way the value for money aspect will be more realistic. Take the difference in MSRP between the Pajero Sport Exceed and the Fortuner Crusade which is only $1,100 while the difference in drive away price is $2,719. The difference in MSRP between the Everest Titanium and Prado GXL is $9,100 while the difference in drive away price is $14,968. In essence, the Fortuner have to make up the difference of $2,719 in price and the Everest $14,968 over the Prado. The Everest would then also have to overcome a whopping $20,159 difference in drive away price over the Pajero. PS: Could you also include a short person around 1.52 (my wife) and 1.54 (my daughter) driving position review? You'd be surprised how near impossible it is to drive some cars if you're a short person and that is a big deciding factor when we buy a car.
Here in the PH, all of them except for the Prado are almost the same in price range. The Ford Everest is the best here, no doubt as the Toyota Prado here costs around roughly TWICE THE PRICE of the top spec Everest (It still has the old 3.0 engine and it lacks a lot of active safety features). Here in the PH, the Toyota Fortuner does not have AEB, Adaptive Cruise, Pedestrian and Cyclist Detection. That’s why the Ford Everest is the best here and that’s why it’s he one we bought. 👍🏻
Couldn’t agree more. However I couldn’t justify buying the titanium for that much when you can get a Y62 for not much more. I would get the Trend instead
I grew up a Ford man and had a 2015 Everest. It was a lemon. I now have a 2016 Crusade. Couldn't be happier. However, it seems a bit tricky to use the mid-spec GXL Prado than the Kakadu, when all the others are top-spec variants.
Toyota can claim the Prado uses less fuel than the Fortuna but it’s bigger, heavier and has the same engine and transmission. Shows how inaccurate official testing is. Real world proved it uses more.
This verdict is correct. I drive my bi turbo UTE every day. One day, I have to drive Prado, and I can clearly feel that my ford UTE is much better than Prado; steering, chasy and quiet engine and inside the car.
If your going to go top of the range on the Everest you have to do top of the range on all of them! That’s why the price is a lot more! Nice review though
I wish Frotuner and Pajero Sport were available in Japan. Prado is too big for rural areas - the roads are just too narrow. I might need to go for previous-gen Suzuki Grand Vitara to get to hunting locations... I really want to have a vehicle with a lock as the terrain is challenging - no need for big ground clearance but a lock is necessary and most hunters drive k-pickup with locks.
That is interesting. Is hilux available in Japan? I hope japan still manufactures hilux because japanmade hilux is way more durable than thailand made.
After working in a Ford dealership, I would never buy one. Sad really because they are great in lots is aspects, but mechanical and electrical gremlins are almost guaranteed
HOW IS THE PRADO $63K?!? HERE IN INDONESIA PRADOS ARE ABOVE $100K! but other prices are equivalent though, such as Pajero it costs around $60k in Indonesia instead of $57k.
Just be grateful we are not like Singapore or Nepal with ridiculous price.. but yeaa we are not alone tho, even some european countries have similar problem like us
May depend on sales volumes. Prado outsells others here in Australia in this class by some way, so that might influence the delivery costs as its cheaper to transport 50 cars than say 5 for example if they don't sell as much elsewhere in the world. Then there's any government excises and taxes that can add even more to the costs.
i wanted to buy it on spec (pajero). however i found the front cramped for the driver (i’m tall). my son found the 3rd row cramped. my partner and i just couldn’t bring ourselves to like the shape/look. and as good as the new safety gear sounds, i trust my driving more. i’ve had situations where i may have been killed if autonomous braking had kicked in. so... it was an isuzu MU-X for us. reliability and a bulletproof DPF were a bonus.
Yes, in the initial price, but in the end the pajero or Mitsubishi in general is a Renault, which is not good at all plus the spare parts are more expensive
The top model of ford we get here in India is Cheaper than in the US. Around $52,000 converted. I am sure we are missing out on a few features. But, compared to the fortuner I would get the Everest Instead. We have another one here Alturas G4 it's $45,000 it's a good option too.

I went car shopping yesterday, Toyota Prado was on top of my list, I did a test drive in an Everest after seeing a comparison video Prado vs Everest to be honest it was ok but not wow. After giving in to my wife talking about the value of the Pajero we went and had a look. Pajero was not on my list!! I actually said to the sales person is this the car I will be getting, because the drive was very different to the Everest it felt great and the price made you feel like you just won 15000.Do it, drive an Everest yourself and than a Pajero. Sorry Prado, not this time I will buy another Land Cruiser again one day.
Greetings Sir, I would like to find out from you: Which has better ride quality and why; pajero sport or everest? How has your pajero sport performed after 3years? Any issues with the transmission, engine or ride quality?
problem with that 2.0 is I personally think it's over stressed. now yes i'm not exactly an adult but I do know that such a tiny engine is probably very stressed with the outputs it's making. also technically the Pajero Sport is full time 4wd on road it's just selectable between 2wd or 4wd on road.
The thing is. The engines block is what bears the stress. Luckily Ford has used good quality materials for this 2l block. Also the stress is easily managed by the Ford because it has 10 ratios. This means there are more closely packed torque curves than other autos. So it does give the Ford engine gearbox good balance.
There's been thousands of vehicles with that 2.0 biturbo diesel engine in Asia that's having oil leak problems when the car is only a few months old. Although the amount of oil leak is very little and not that concerning, it shows how poorly Ford stress tested their engine
Junaid Riaz only because it's a Toyota. It lags behind in 4WD tech, interior space, gadgets and safety equipment inside the cabin and on-road behaviour. Sadly, more than most Toyota buyers are sheep and put weight on their decision via an unfounded reliability reputation. Sure, Toyotas used to be built on a mantra of durability above its peers. But those days are long gone, my guy. Its contemporaries have long since caught up and even surpassed Toyota in certain ways.
Very nice review, i choose pajero sport for my daily driver, because in Jakarta 🇮🇩 the trafic jam is very severe and Pajero Sport have Auto Hold that very usefull for stop and go street condition.
A famous Texan mechanic always says, having a turbocharged instead of natural aspirated will put more strain in your small engine and parts will wear out faster just to get more power and speed, is not worth in a vehicle that's not that reliable. (Us, Italians and Germans for example)
New alloys and methods with digital tech changes the world in cars planes train and ships . That 2L bi-turbo Everest will last like any mechanical devise depending on how you service and use it .
Considering the highest price of Prado compared to the other 3 SUVs, its overall rank is just 2nd overall. EVerest is a best buy, price and performance wise.
I’d think the Pajero Sport is the winner. It’s does everything that’s asked of it and it’s the cheapest in the range. None of the pricier cars are that much better.
prefect timing, I've been looking at getting one of these. I always liked the Everest sport. But i had a look at the Pajero, and made my decision harder. Might go look at the Prado now
go for the pajero sport it's also reliable and its value dont depreciate a lot well just a little low than the toyotas but it has better value for your money here btw depending on your country if u dont need 4x4 u can get 4x2 with same tech and features except it's less capable off road
These guys who love the pajero sport so much... They don't even know that it has the ugliest rear among the bunch, the most narrow one meaning interior space is compromised thus most cramped and the second row seats don't even slide. Wtf. Don't get me wrong tho because it's a solid competitive vehicle but its rivals just look way better and have better space inside overall.
@@w1ldm4n82 different cars for different people. They could be a family of short people and if they fit perfectly in the pajero sport, why not? It has decent performance, specs and comfort even when the price is taken out of the equation. The narrow body for me is a downside because 3 people in the back are tight, but the upside is easier manueverability through tight spaces. Yeah, rear is ugly 😂. Idk how people would find it good looking but i guess some people will.
@@unknownd7409 I mean i could forgive it for not being as wide as its peers but the rear is just ugh... *in Indonesia Prado is twice more expensive than Fortuner/PajeroSport. I have a 2018 PajeroSport 2WD, and cost around AUS $50000 brand new (it comes with a sunroof too). The 4WD version is AUS $15k more expensive.*
Keep in mind resale in 3-5 years and what value you get in return. Prado v Fortuner $5k at the front end and according to Redbook a Jun 2015 GXL Prado ($61,990)with average kms 80,000-130,000 has a private price guide of $39,100 to $42,900 and the Aug 2015 Fortuner Crusade ($61,990)again with average kms 80,000-130,000 has a private price guide of $34,200 to $37,770. Looking at the above review both being on par with pricing there is $5,000 difference and if the Prado is $5,000 dearer now it's likely you'll retain the difference at time of selling.
In General I will Choose the Prado Simply because Toyota is been Proven and tested and it is Considered as an Immortal Car Worldwide, and has the best resale Value as well. Toyota Prado and Toyota Land Cruiser are Simply the Best of all SUV’s of all time.
Prado is the best by far among the SUVs reviewed here. Comfort, spacious and stable. Its KDSS is just amazing. But here in my country the price is too high, and never seen diesel praso sold in dealer.
When it's about Toyota it's always about the brand, not particularly about product/car. People won't talk how the car is but only talk about the brand.
I have the Prado Kakadu; different price category I know. It's Kinetic Dynamic Suspension System (KDSS) makes a world of difference. Shortly after I bought it we drove Sunny Coast to Sydney in one day. It was like a limo ride. Great to drive and comfortable. (Put into sport, and it's like a sports car to drive - well almost.) We got out the other end not feeling like we'd driven that far. I was also amazed at the fuel economy; 7.3l/100klm. I couldn't be happier.
I've worked in this industry years and living in Namibia where off road is common, I've always chosen to drive the Everest as it's more comfortable and safe in turns but just consumes fuel most.
I've never heard of a million KM Ford, but I have heard of million KM Toyotas and Isuzus. Honestly, the way that a Ford won is just absolutely mind boggling. You can basically run a Toyota D4-D engine on cooking oil and a good cheerleader, but if you stare at a Ford, it breaks.
Ford trucks are incredibly solid and reliable, the new everest is absolutely fantastic and drives better than all the other competitors, some ford model have had problems but owning the both Toyota and Ford I can say that the newer Ford will make you change your mind.
Great in depth review. It is all about providing information to the public to help them make a choice. There is no substitute for driving all of them including driving a fiends in the bush. Speaking of information, Which car manufacturer has the most recalls? Analysis of the Government's recalls database has revealed which makers have issued the most, with Toyota topping the charts with 818 notices issued for its vehicles in the last 30 years. 21 July 2021
Simple equation, buy the Prado if you cannot afford a 200 series, buy a Pajero sport if you are on a budget, go for the Everest if you want to tell stories in the future about your unpleasant experience with Ford dealers.
True story 😂
Hahahaha
Yes that is spot on. I have no more faith in Ford's product. To me - of course price must be taken into account - Pajero should come out on top.
And fortuner if you unfortunate
Thats why ford spread money for marketing
the only thing these kinds of car reviews never test is long term reliability, availability of spare parts and resale value..which is where the Toyotas seriously win!!
I think they had dpf issues in Australia, plus all these vehivles have plenty of dealers. Please explain the resale value proposition, why pay more for something in the first place and be happy because sells at a higher price later.
Yeah all they want is tech and luxury
Check out #XUV500, #Harrier
Suv battle channel compares these and the Pajero owns the prado. This video doesn't prove anything, its just and ad for toyota

Just buy a Prado. You'll be fine,no need to read lengthy reviews.
There's this old saying: Sure, you can take a Ford into the wilderness, but you'd need a Toyota to get back.
toyota is overated lol
You can drive in an out of any wilderness in a Ford, it all depends on how capable you are as a driver, how well your vehicle is maintained and how it would be fitted out to tackle clearance and traction for this so called wilderness. Incompetent drivers come up with these analogies about Toyota being invincible and Ford being trash when they would be destitute no matter what truck they drive.

Toyota the best
If not for the dpf issues
I test drove all these cars a year ago ( including the MUX ) expecting to buy the Prado at the end of it. The Everest (Trend 2ltr bi-turbo) was hands down the nicest, quietest and most responsive of the lot. It was a pleasure to drive, so we bought it and havent looked back. For all the Toyota fan boys in the comments, have a drive of all of them, then comment.
You bought a Ford 🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄
@Mathew comes down to whether you bought a Friday special, not one brand is safe from that

Anecdotal nonsense. Tons of 20 year old Fords in the road. You notice Toyotas because that’s what you have.
You liked it because it is cheap, not because of the other features you mentioned.
Yea, I thought it would've come in second after the Everest. Was surprised the Prado nudged by...

Because it's just an average car that's really old. Even Toyota lovers can see that!

1. Parado 👉 Reliable unbrakeable fuel efficiency 👍 Transmission super strong most reliable
2. Forturner 👉Engine and transmission very reliable hold in price because it’s good car!!
3. Pajaro 👉 Nice interior cheaper for the money engine has bad design on EGR faulty
4. Everest bad Transmission not holding value due to lots of fault and bad customer service

Holy cow how big is the rest of the family that you guys get put in the third row??
We are the tallest in the house but I wanted to test those seats using the biggest people in the house.
In India, you can get 2 ford Everests at the price of one Toyota Prado. Also, Ford Everest is the best car everywhere, but not off-road and this is due to its weight. It is very very heavy. And it's not reliable.
I usually see comments about people claiming Ford pays to get good reviews but you can't ignore the Everest
I love how capable and comfortable it is
the others are good too but I'd pick the Everest any day
We’ve looked at all and by far the most luxurious is the Ford, it’s just a nicer place for the family on big off-road trips.
For us though the next vehicle will be the Ford Everest Titanium🤘🤘
Great video too gents, thoroughly enjoyed it.
Can I ask what type of mod's do you put on one of them like the 76 79 Hilux and the Prado? I know you have to put like rops on it for the mines but do you have winches on them or stuff like that?
Ford warranties mean nothing - ask all the buyers of their vehicles with the dodgy transmissions.
No Civilian would put a Hilux through what we do!! 🤣🤣 Not sure if its shazz or chris who is moonlighting for the taliban...🥸

Even I love it 😍
the LandCruiser is good since it has an option for mud and sand and the others such as wilderness that helps it In adapting to the environment and the habitat by the way if the land cruiser got stuck in the sand there are many ways for that to happen, but it does have an option for that too it is called a crawling system I think that if they took all of these cars to the middle east and went to the desert the Pajero and the ford not offending but it would face troubles because it doesn't have a lot of buyers in the middle east so it doesn't really focus on enhancing there but the Prado, Fortuner, LandCruiser and the Nissan patrol have contact with the middle east so there the ford and the Pajero will face some problems and they might have some issues because they are kind of low and in the sand and hard off-road terrain's you need the car to have a larger axel for the weels and not really important for having headspace other than that the ford that they concluded to be the winners have the not so hard habitat so city roads will be the best option for them to focus on other than that if the car has a high price it is logical for its parts and maintainace to be at a slightly higher price than normal, yes, it might be cheaper for them in the united states because this car was acctuaqlly manufactured there so it will ofcors be easier to take it for one place to another and to sell it also the head cuarters might be focused there and that is all what i can comment so far
Why dont reviewers ever point out Mitsubishi's super select 2 system?
You can drive that pajero sport as a fulltime 4wd on road if you wish to, which is far better then having the system permanently on when not needed.

Very good points to take home.

Pajero sport exceed $65000 drive away. Ford Everest Titanium $74000 drive away as of 10/2021, carsales
Just one point to consider is the long term ownership costs. This could greatly influence choice outside of service plans, etc.

Toyota can claim the Prado uses less fuel than the Fortuna but it’s bigger, heavier and has the same engine and transmission. Shows how inaccurate official testing is. Real world proved it uses more.
All these companies give estimates of engine power and fuel usage but it's almost never true.
My vote goes to: Durability > Aesthetics
Pajero sport
I will pick the Prado.. The best road presence, wide body, best off-roading, retro-modern interior console, seems most rugged and tough among all.. ✌
Ford 4 Life Australian car journalists, always stacking the deck in favour of Ford.
The others are top of the range, except prado
I wish Frotuner and Pajero Sport were available in Japan. Prado is too big for rural areas - the roads are just too narrow. I might need to go for previous-gen Suzuki Grand Vitara to get to hunting locations...
I really want to have a vehicle with a lock as the terrain is challenging - no need for big ground clearance but a lock is necessary and most hunters drive k-pickup with locks.
That is interesting. Is hilux available in Japan?
I hope japan still manufactures hilux because japanmade hilux is way more durable than thailand made.
@@genki_renie Hilux is available in Japan. Sadly, it's still imported from Thailand and only has 2.4l diesel engine.
I would go for prado if I live in Au. the price in Thailand is so expensive.
Prado 3.9mil
Fortuner 1.7mil
Ford 1.8 mil
Mitsu 1.6 mil
All in thaibaht
... and which one did you get? I'm happy with my Navara 7G atm. Very fuel efficient. Friends choose the Mitsu
After working in a Ford dealership, I would never buy one. Sad really because they are great in lots is aspects, but mechanical and electrical gremlins are almost guaranteed
I own a PRADO as well a PAJERO
PAJERO is more comfortable and it has the best handling on road. when off roading...... Pajero is the king
Bhakaa ev have you really been OFF ROAD?
@@ashwathashok yeah bro
1) prado
2) Fortuner
3) pajero/montero sport
4) Everest
Pardo all day around! I have it for 15 years! 0 issues! Drives better than new Pajero / Everest
I've said it before and I'll say it again "Buy Pajero Sport and save $$$".
i wanted to buy it on spec (pajero). however i found the front cramped for the driver (i’m tall). my son found the 3rd row cramped. my partner and i just couldn’t bring ourselves to like the shape/look. and as good as the new safety gear sounds, i trust my driving more. i’ve had situations where i may have been killed if autonomous braking had kicked in. so... it was an isuzu MU-X for us. reliability and a bulletproof DPF were a bonus.
Yes, in the initial price, but in the end the pajero or Mitsubishi in general is a Renault, which is not good at all plus the spare parts are more expensive
The Pajero Sport is value for money!!
id rather the pajero sport (3rd) or prado (2nd), similar priced.....that everest is $15,000 more then the pajero sport lol. not good value imho
I would take a Pajero (not Sport) any day before they stop making them.
The top model of ford we get here in India is Cheaper than in the US. Around $52,000 converted. I am sure we are missing out on a few features. But, compared to the fortuner I would get the Everest Instead. We have another one here Alturas G4 it's $45,000 it's a good option too.

@@petron1954 Mitsubishi has not stop making the Pajero, but stop sellling it in Japan. There is rumour that they are pushing for a new model but hybrid electric.
@@roshill2010 the way I see it only if you're an American u can enjoy a Ford. But anywhere else in the world its best to stay away from that. Toyota all the way
I knew the result at the beginning...coz they always favor to ford...according to your tests pajero sport should win.( price, performance and reliability) .. its a shame after all your support to ford you barely seen an everest on street
The only surprise is that the Prado came so high overall, but no surprise at all about the winner.
Ford and mitsubishi. 👍👍
I back that up!
It's a nice drive got one on hire
Got mine tuned to 27 psi of boost ang makes 256 hp at the crank so imagine if the new everest makes stock 210 hp not ps close to 30 psi of boost
Not to mention internal problems of the new 2.0 especially the injector that fails
There's been thousands of vehicles with that 2.0 biturbo diesel engine in Asia that's having oil leak problems when the car is only a few months old. Although the amount of oil leak is very little and not that concerning, it shows how poorly Ford stress tested their engine
@@kylosolo6128 yes rangers have been doing great but Everest.....😮😮😮
Toyota fortuner always seems to have the worst suspension in the midsize suv segment
Didn't 2020 have an update already?
I never see them, either.

@@johnypakistani pricing is a major factor
That 2l bi-turbo Everest is going to be worthless once out of warranty
all I could think about is servicing those 2 turbos eventually and that transmission wearing bits, $$$$$$$ no thanks.
@@gigaboat Not all the gearboxes are created equally. And thus, not all of them will last long. Your statement is not valid.
Considering the highest price of Prado compared to the other 3 SUVs, its overall rank is just 2nd overall. EVerest is a best buy, price and performance wise.
eric central that junk Ford costs the most.....
I’d think the Pajero Sport is the winner. It’s does everything that’s asked of it and it’s the cheapest in the range. None of the pricier cars are that much better.
Great review Cars Guide👍👍👍💪
prefect timing, I've been looking at getting one of these.
Ford is a generation better than the others here, test drive everything and you'll know. This review is spot on on everything I would say.
I know it's already been in the market for almost five years already but i still can't move on, i find its predecessor better looking. It would have been my choice tho if it had that similar to the outlander.
*in Indonesia Prado is twice more expensive than Fortuner/PajeroSport. I have a 2018 PajeroSport 2WD, and cost around AUS $50000 brand new (it comes with a sunroof too). The 4WD version is AUS $15k more expensive.*
Why are you guys not under Lockdown? I like the Ford Everest by the way...
Dude! Wheres the MuX? Instead of having 2 toyotas, why not replace one with an Isuzu mate?
Isuzu was in the middle of doing a major upgrade when this was filmed, I doubt they'd want their soon to be replaced model included in this.
Taresk Isloki The all new model is Launching in 2 days! I cant wait.
Prado isn't a SUV, it's a 4WD (diff locks etc )and it uses the Landcrusier name plate for a reason.
Awesome review guys! Well done.
Good Job sir. Everest and Prado my dream SUV
Which year make can I ask?

In India the Pardo cost is very high costing almost 120k for least variant but fortuner or everest cost 52k for highest variant.
Hehe...wake up...Kent engine, barra and more
