Have had the Biturbo Everest Sport for just over 6 months. Finding it much more driver friendly than the 3.2 Everest Trend previously owned. Big improvement in the Sync3 system, better ride and better economy also. The Sport picked up all the shortfalls in the previous Everest being keyless entry and ignition, leather seats and lights that actually show where your going. Looks great, handles well, loving it so far!

It’s a good looking vehicle. Decent room for the third row passengers, and still a bit of boot room, when the third row seats r in use. No wonder this is a popular vehicle. Great vehicle for the price.

In 2019 I was about to buy a Pajero Sport but got talked into an Everest. I loved the Everest, but thought they were too expensive at the time, but the dealer gave me a price that was essentially only $5k over the Pajero Sport, so I went for it. Now, in March 2022, I have had two Everests. Both Trends; 2-litre Bi-Turbos. The first being a 19.75 replaced by Ford by the second one, a 20.75. The first one blew an engine at 26000km due to a failed oil pump and had the famous rust-in-doors, bonnet and tail gate problem. The car that replaced it had problems with the transfer case. A friend of ours had a 19.25 Trend with the rust problem and eventually Ford replaced it. The replacement car, a 2021.25 also ended up with rust within 3 months of getting it and then the complete AdBlu system failed. They sold it and got a new MUX. A business colleague of mine has an Everest Sport that Ford gave him after the transmission failed in his first. Now, his new one is starting to have transfer case issues. They are a great, good-looking package, with lots of tech for the price (although Ford removed a lot of features in the latest 2021 model, for some reason) and the 2 litre goes like a scalded cat. They are just unreliable and the leather seats, I found in both cars, are shite...horribly flat and unsupportive without much bolstering giving you sore hips after a long trip. Unlike others with similar problems, I cannot fault Ford's service. They supported me very well all the way through the repair and replacement process, so credit where credit is due. Just hoping the new Everest won't have the same unreliability that the current one has. The outcome of the story? I have sold my second Everest (which I absolutely loved) and have found that is actually difficult to find something with similar features for the price to replace it. The new MUX looks the goods but you can't use the 4WD drive system as an AWD in the wet on sealed roads (like the Everest) and feels cheap and nasty inside and is expensive for what you get (an archaic 4WD system and not many features). The Pajero Sport appears to me to be the only worthy replacement at the moment, but it is smaller inside and won't have the same "go" as the Everest had. But I won't be buying another Ford. Unless time shows the new Everest is much more reliable than the current one.

    • @tuan.hoang_
      @tuan.hoang_ 2 ปีที่แล้ว

Thanks for sharing your experience with the Everest. In my country a lot of Everest owners are having similar problems as well. Unfortunately Ford after sale service in my country isn't that good, they usually just blame it on the customer and refuse to fix.
I've been considering the Pajero Sport and the Everest and to me the Everest is still better all around in terms of driving feel and interior space. Have you looked at the new Everest yet? It looks incredible on the outside and Ford also extends the wheelbase by 50mm, the interior also has 2 large LCD displays. Altogether the new Everest looks and feels more modern. However it is still using 2.0 bi-turbo so I doubt any reliability issues are fixed.

Love my Everest! I recently drove my 2L 20.75 Trend from Brisbane to Canberra and back towing a 2.4 ton Coromal van, wife, 2 teens, 1 dog, 1 cat and luggage and the Everest towed it with ease in Sport mode, there was never a problem with this car. Fuel economy was averaging 13-14 litres/100km, I couldn't fault it. I used to drive a 3.2L Ranger which I thought was powerful, but this package is very impressive.

After getting my bi turbo Everest Sport in August i finally got to give her a decent run, Melb - Yarrawonga (approx 3 hours) return this week, loaded up with the family and half the house. The thing ate up the road. I’ve never had a more cruiser, comfortable and easier long distance drive. It stuck to the road at a constant high speed and overtakes were incredibly easy. Extremely punchy when required at highway speeds. Now to clean 1000+ bugs splattered on the nice looking front end…

My wife and I looked at the Everest, Isuzu MU-X, Prado, Trailblazer and Fortuna. We ended up buying an Everest Sport in the 3.2L engine type (Aluminium colour is the best). It was the standout over all of these other models. We have owned it for around 6 months now and I can't fault it. The biggest issue for us was we were going to buy the "hero" colour in Deep Crystal Blue. It looks awesome in the marketing. When we saw it in real life it was really dark purple colour, almost black. The dealership tried to make it out that it was a "really nice colour". It was so far from the brochures and online marketing it was laughable. I can only imagine how many complaints they got. We changed dealer and went for the Aluminium and happy days for us. Great car.

It depends on where you’re from. Here, we got the 2.2 and 3.2 before the facelift. Now the 2.0 replaced the 3.2, but kept the 2.2 for the lower grades. In Australia, I think they still offer the 3.2 alongside the 2.0 if you want the old engine. And in China, you get a 2.3 Gasoline version.

    Hi Paul, Love your reviews.
It would be nice if you can demonstrate some additional details in your reviews such as the radar cruise, auto-hold feature etc. What I've found is although some cars have radar cruise, it does not come with a Stop/Start system which is really useful in Traffic. Also, with some cars, the Auto-hold function is turned off every time you switch off the engine and needs to be turned on every time you start the car. The German cars have the ability to remember your previous settings and retain them every time you switch off the engine. These are fairly small things but from experience, they do add a lot of value in day to day driving.

It always shocks me to see "big ranger" since it's literally the smallest truck in Ford's lineup in the states. I do like this vehicle. I wish we got it instead of the egg-shaped Edge. That being said, it needs to be a 5-seater, and it's needs the 3.5 ecoboost with about 350hp. Good review, Paul!

its funny where the Everest bettered in space over the Territory but how the Territory still did things better, both Australian designed and engineered it would of been awesome had they managed to perfectly mix the two
Territory had more 3rd row leg room and shoulder room but suffered without the split folding third row and boot space with the third row up, Everest suffers on leg room and shoulder room, however gains split folding and has more rear space with the third row up,

Delivery for my new RWD 2.0 Trend is scheduled December 3... Looking forward to a little softer ride after 3 years in a WildTrak. Fit, finish & feature is excellent, though my missus will miss heated seats. I was fortunate to get one of the last MY2020.75 builds before Ford pulled a bunch of stuff out... I'll still have full sized alloy spare, active noise cancelling, rear seat AC controls (not just fan speed), 8-way electric driver's seat, not 6... Apparently they needed to hit a price point and though it was easier to "trim" features :o(

Hi Paul. You mentioned "it has Bi-led headlamps, LED for the low beam and led for the high beam"

Sync 3 ? i do hope the electrics are going to last for the newer models ? Our Ranger Just out of warranty, infotainment system and its driver assist is falling apart after 100 thou ks . We dont even have a radio any more. Also it occasionally says that different things are not working, pre collision alert etc, etc. I didn`t realize that Thailand had Monday build cars ?

Thanks for another great review Paul .
Like the Ranger the Everest is a great vehicle and I’m thinking of getting out of my Ranger and buying the Everest Sport and love that it has AWD unlike some of its competitors and when comparing it to other Ute based SUV’s the decision to buy the Ford Everest for me becomes a no brainer.
However the pricing of the Everest Sport after adding on roads and a few accessories starts to get close to the pricing of a Prado GXL and I was just wondering if the Prado might still be a better proposition? Both models are starting to get long in the tooth a new Everest is expected I the first Quarter of 2022 and the Prado replacement around the first quarter of 2023 and I’m interested to get your opinion to make a more objective decision.

I test drove the V6 yesterday. However for me, it isn’t enough of a game-changer to make me want to buy one. The engine is smooth and quiet, and the 10-speed transmission performs well. The ability to switch between full-time 4WD and 2WD on the fly is also cool. But drive-wise, the overall feel is very similar to my current 20.75 Ranger. There are things that I don’t like as well. There is a lot going on in the instrument panel and I found it difficult to know where to look. There is also no ergonomic angle on the 10 inch centre screen so it is flush flat with rest of the dash making it difficult to use while you’re driving. Disappointingly as well, at around $75k for the Sport trim, there is no heating options for the leather seats. Overall, it looks awesome on the outside but the cabin is lacking in my opinion.

Hey Paul. Congratulations on starting youtube channel on your own. Well done.
A few things I have been noticing in your reviews which are worth highlighting and it is becoming very apparent with recent reviews. Just finished watching Ford Everest posted recently.
Firstly about design and outer profile. Noticed that most channels only focus on the bottom half of the car describing the design and profile. Often upper half explanation takes back seat and miss on explaining pillar A, B and C. Also miss out on explaining complete design profile and aerodynamics.
Other point specially about Ford Everest review- Is it 2 Ltr Turbo diesel or Bi turbo. Seems like it was explained as Turbo diesel in the video.
Hope you find my comments valuable.
    Thanks
