      +CarAdvice.com.au Exactly, say that you can't make a judgement right now. Also say that the Prado is generally the more reliable choice and the land rover is not very reliable. Make reliability a subject.

      @Drivecomau  9 ปีที่แล้ว +30

      Err. No. The Prado's diesel is less than a year old too. It's impossible to make a reliability call either way.

    Here In India,Prado is almost Three times the price of Everest (Endeavour here)
    So they aren't even competitors.
    But undoubtedly Ford has invested a genuine engg. in this machine if it competes with the mighty prado.

      4 million ang prado na diesel which is yung makina ng lumang fortuner na 3.0. Nag facelift na nga nung 2017 pero ganun parin makina, kahit ginawang 200ps na yung 2.8 sa bagong hilux/fortuner. Kaya lugi talaga noypi pero pag ginawang parehas ang makina balang araw, irerekomenda ko parin ito sa pamilya ko kahit may kalumaan na.

    Australian delivered Toyota Prado 100% made in Japan vs Ford Everest which is made in Rayong, Thailand with engine made in Eskisehir, Turkey and gearbox made in Michigan USA. One vehicle is Japanese thru and thru, the other is quite international.

    Well, these two cars are versatile. They were both good in on and off road. But, if you want to know the true power of the Land Cruiser Prado, then use the 4.0 V6 engine, there's no major changes in the exterior and also interior, but obviously under the hood. I almost forgot this was a nice review.

    Good review guys but has anyone looked at the emission standards on the 2 motors? The Prado 2.8 is setup for Euro 6 emissions while the Everest is an unknown? Can you clarify? Might be why the Prado is only putting out 130kw and 450nm of torque. Does the KDSS not give the Prado a reduced body roll which would give it better on road handling? It will be telling in a few years whether the Everest is still considered a Prado killer when reliability issues might surface for either of these vehicles.
    Toyota have always been behind the eight ball when it comes to mod cons such as electric windows etc. However they make up for it in better quality drive train and components.

    • @Drivecomau
      @Drivecomau  9 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Everest is Euro 6 compliant and uses AdBlue. KDSS helps the Prado, but it's outclassed by the Everest in the handling stakes.

I did change to A/T tyres been to cape York and highlands in vic. Not afraid to use it offroad. Who cares I've had both my personal preference is ford in everyway. Feel more safe on road with kids and for that sold me.

    I like how they say it “smaller than the Prado on the inside” well that’s because it is I own a Prado and the second row is so spacious with no knees touching or head rubbing against the roof, where as when I say in the Everest my knees were getting squashed and I couldn’t even sit up straight because there was that much lack of headspace, unless your family is very short the Prado is the best option

    both cars drives differently in different battlefield. I have driven both, and i must agree on the on road dynamics the everest has. off road, everest should work hard to keep up with the prado. Interior wise, to me the prado has the edge.my verdict is, if you're looking for a touring, bush bashing and camping vehicle that you'll will set up for that purpose, go with the prado but if you're looking for an everyday car- to city street and the occasional drive to the country side go with the everest, that is, if you're happy to throw 77k for a ford? only time can tell how much will it cost in the next 5 years.

Pretty close comparison, I think if I had the money to purchase one of these I would test drive both, though I prefer the look of the Prado it sounds like the Ford is better combination on and off road. All interesting but Everest in not rated as an off road vehicle. Only has MA not MC rating so has a passenger car rating. Therefore cannot be upgraded like the Prado for serious off road use. Buyer beware these types of reviews that indicate it is an off road vehicle are misleading.

    I'd like to get a Prado but I'm not paying through the nose for old tech and very few creature comforts. I draw the line at around 65k for a vehicle, and the Prado at that price point is a joke compared to others. If I was on a farm and off roading all the time, sure pay the extra for a Prado, but as someone who goes off road maybe 5 times a year, I'll look at other options. The Everest looks alright to me, time to go for a test drive.

    Car advice I am with you in a lot of aspects you recently told in the video but here is one question, why Toyota is the number one sales car manufacturer in the world? It's by playing it safe, giving the customers reliable machines that can do what customers want it to do. Maybe this ford has much more technology but if you ask a terrorist that needs to go through a desert to buy an Everest instead of a Fortuner or a Land Cruiser they will laugh at you and maybe kill you after that for being stupid. All I am trying to say is that maybe a car is not better than other only because it offers you things you even don't need. And by saying this, Car Advice really disappointed me because they choose the winner of the comparison thinking like an 18 year old teenager instead of professional and future thinking men.

    I wish we got the Everest back here in the U.S. Sadly, Ford won't bring it since it might take sales away from the Explorer or Expedition. Can you guys do a comparison test between Ford of America and Ford of Australia?? "Yankee Explorer or Aussie Everest? Which is Best?" I think that would be pretty sweet :D

    Toyota prado is a good car but having the same diesel engine as the toyota fortuner is a bit nonsense. I mean it should have atleast a v6 turbo diesel, cause i don't want to pay for a premium price if i can pay less for the same brand and engine.

      Prado has the new 2.8 litre TD or the 4.0 litre V6. I'm not a diesel fan,yet the V6 fuel consumption is pretty damn close to the diesel. Its a matter of horses for courses The Everest is the better looking of the two. Time to give the Prado a facelift.
