    Well done in terms of explaining the data for us non-professional drivers to understand. And those are some fast, fast laps ! Nice job !

    As always, the Stuntman delivers! Great video, and truly love the data trace analysis...reminded me of watching F1 drivers talk about their cornering speeds from the mid to late 1990s.

    Hey Billy, love the "Foreign Relations" T-shirt! Classic! Any chance you could please find out what tires the 600LT was running, please? 225/285 stock, but were they fitted? My father was the production director on the McLaren F1 (now retired), I understand that McLaren "undertyred" the 600LT to distance it from the 720S's lap-times, which with 235/305 (as was originally intended) outperformed the 720S. As a prospective buyer of a slightly used 600LT, I'm wondering if the owner was running stock rubber?
    Keep up the great work! (i e-mailed the address on your website, but am awaiting a response, aplogies for the post here asking the same question!).

    Good information Billy, nice job. Hope to see more in the future. The data analysis was nice to see. I would like to hear some commentary during the lap (voice over not real time) to give us a sense of what is happening. That will be helpful, particularly on tracks that your viewers might not be familiar with (eg Buttonwillow for me). 🙏

    Thanks for the lap Billy. I'd like to see you get the GT350 vs the new Mach 1 on track, same day same tires. Can you ask Ford to lend you some cars? lol

    • @OneLapBilly
      @OneLapBilly  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Thanks for the comment. I'd love to do proper tests and comparisons. Unfortunately (as mentioned in the intro to my channel) that is extremely expensive due to needing new tires and a clear track. It would probably be difficult to get those cars from Ford on brand new tires, even if I had hundreds of thousands of followers, let alone for my new channel. I would have to just find owners of the two cars if I were to do that comparison, but the variables in tire wear might be greater than the performance difference between the two. Hence this channel is more focused on the challenge of what I can do on my first lap in a given car no matter the conditions (weather, tire, alignment, etc...) Even though I'm usually within half a second of the cars ability given the conditions, it's still not THE FASTEST lap these cars are capable of on new tires and a proper alignment. Sorry for the novel response and thanks for following!

      Thanks! That's a tough one since there are so many great cars out there. I'm personally more of a GT2RS kind of guy rather than a 3RS. But for track use, the 600LT is the most "pure" and proper driving car of the bunch.

    We change to steel brakes because of the cost of replacement (shows single day use tires needing replaced).

    • @OneLapBilly
      @OneLapBilly  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      On cars this fast, there really aren't any tires that will last more than 150-200 miles (1-2 track days). Plus $1500 tires aren't as bad as $20K+ brakes.

    • @EMFAudio
      @EMFAudio 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@OneLapBilly I have a 12C and I do autocross with it as well as a lot of street driving per year. Tires and brakes last just fine for me, and I don't have an interest in replacing either so frequently. That being said, I keep at what I can afford and maximize that. I'd keep the better brakes (I have carbon ceramic) because they're better. If I can't afford to play that game I don't play the game. If tires won't last anyway, why spend too dollar for tires?

    • @OneLapBilly
      @OneLapBilly  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@EMFAudio autocross and street driving does not put anywhere near the load/stress/wear as track driving. Speed costs money and if you're a novice driver, tires will last longer on an autocross or track than if you're a more advanced driver who pushes the car to the limit. If youre fast and can't afford replacing tires on a car like this, it's probably not the best idea to be tracking it in the first place. Its good to hear that you're enjoying your car on an autox, since most owners don't even do that.

    • @EMFAudio
      @EMFAudio 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@OneLapBilly I am aware it doesn't wear as much, that's why I mentioned it, because that's my comfort zone. Autocross wears the same amount but a MUCH shorter time. I might have 6-8 minutes of track time compared to two hours. That's literally an entire season of autocross with the same wear as 1 track day at say Road Atlanta. I don't have it in me to buy 8 sets of tires a year. Also, since you may not know, brakes are $20k when you know the tricks of the trade. $1,200 for pads, $4k for rotors.

    • @OneLapBilly
      @OneLapBilly  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@EMFAudio lower speeds, lower energy going into the brakes and tires = lower wear than road courses. Yes, I'm quite aware of the costs. Personally I like the CCST option from Surface Transforms the best.
