      Why not 296 GTB Vs 720s 😂
Drag races were bad 10.8 for 720s 🤣🤣
720s spider does 10.1 on this surface
      720s is definitely 100% faster than 750S or 296 GTB or 765LT
2019 720s is quicker and faster than all of them

I feel you’d drive it but also you may feel this is too much of a risk of losing the money.? You only live one and all that I get that. And I’d love to be taking it out everyday. But something tells me unless you’re rich af. Everyone would not take that in the snow. It will want to take you off the road in the rain at 150mph 😂

@@M140_- Yeah it's definitely a money thing...obviously to be able to buy one in the first place 😂...but also to maintain it with servicing, repairs, extended warranty, fuel, tyres etc. Like if I could comfortably cover those costs then yeah, I'd take it out all the time. But if I stretched myself to get the car, then probably not - but then unless you're buying it as an investment, I'd argue why buy it if you can't comfortably afford to run it.

Speaking to an owner he was on his 3rd gearbox and 2nd engine at 45k miles and had to pay for the 3rd gearbox himself as McLaren refused to fix it again. Possibly the least "usable" cars of all time

Imagine seeing pickups in ditches filled with snow, and then go take out your 'super car" which is crappy in snow because of crazy power and no tire tread. No, you wouldn't drive it after all of the hassle it is to own it. Believe me- I don't drive my 911 in the heart of the Rockies for 5 months a year and I have plenty of money and they wont sell me a Dakar because I haven't bought enough P cars yet.@@milinddixit6583

While it is true that McLaren underrates their cars, your numbers are too high.
That 769 W_hp number was not done by the SAE standard, it was STD and it was not even done at a load based dyno. So you are looking at maybe 730 W_hp in the real world. Secondly the modern DCT transmission drive lines does not take 15%, more like 13%. So you are looking at about 830-840 C_hp not 880.
This math you can do with the other numbers as well.

Less traction will hurt you off the line, and shorter gearing will improve your mid range acceleration but hurt the top end. I don't know a huge amount about the 750 tbh, but if they've worked in a bit more downforce that'll also hurt at higher speeds

We know from multiple dyno tests the 720S actually has around 790hp at the crank/flywheel. Maybe the 750S actually has closer to its advertised figure. That's my takeaway. The 720S was always faster than the Ferrari Pista because the while both had the same claimed power, the Pista actually made 710bhp. The final drive is the only shorter ratio, same as the 765LT.

Shorter gearing creates a final drive ratio that isn’t optimized for top speed, more so for acceleration. Longer gears let the engine crank out through the powerband more, giving you more top end shove. At least that’s how I believe it works. Something also tells me something may have been awry with the 750S. I’ve seen other videos with it and it’s been quicker. Not a crazy difference because they’ve both got hypercar-like power delivery but it’s definitely noticeable

RECOMMENDATION: Could you do 720s vs 750s vs 765lt and you could add another mclaren if u want

I think you can hear it through the screen. The 720s driver is purposely shifting a bit lower in the rpm to stay in the ideal power band longer

Wow, so much heat soak. Fun fact most of the mechanical issues all McLarens suffer from is the fact that the intercoolers are piped into the radiator and the turbos use the engine oil. It really shows here in this video

Add a advanced car diagnostic tool and I think we will see that the slip rate between front and rear axle is different between the cars, due too tyre difference. Would be interesting...

Do not use paddles while roll-racing.. once you downshift to desired gear, then depress manual button after full throttle since it will shift faster and you will not miss a shift

I've had my 570S for 2 years now, it's also been my daily driver. It's been wonderful and reliable. McLarens break when they aren't being driven. These cars need heat cycles and they need all of their electrical components to be started up and used, they will fail otherwise.

Seems like the shirter final gear of the 750S gets you to a higher gear BEFORE the 402m... therefore lower acceleration at the top end. Gear that the 720S never has to use, and thus be of the top of the power band longer.

comes down to gearing. From a stand still, 750 is faster because ratio is 15% shorter. On a rolling race, 720 is able to keep up because of the longer gear ratio ... awesome video

I’ve heard from McLaren mechanics that if you just weekend drive them they break on you since the engine components aren’t warmed up
But when you daily drive them and keep everything warm they are a lot more Reliable

Cup 2 only, year round, yes. Although not the best for winter, Cup 2 R’s are not something you want unless it’s summer or track usage. The cup 2 only, work well in the UK and are mostly unbelievably good, but you do want to be careful using them in the wet and winter. They are still able to be used year round, but puddles and winter weather…Hmmm, I’d say Pilot Sport 4 S. You want the best braking performance at all times of course.
Cup 2 R, very little tread from new and horrendous in the wet. They are the best tyre in the dry, but they are more of a fastest lap possible (personal best) as they do overheat quite quickly. That’s why the Cup 2 is the better option.
Also, have a look at the cost of a cup 2 r haha

100% about the start. They are so close that, in a head to head it makes bo difference. Stick a stig in those cars over 10 runs and the average will be ridiculously small in favour of the 750. That's just the peak of car development we've hit.

At a previous race the 750S against the ferrari 296 and the ferarri was pulling away from the 750S , i was like "did they just downgraded it in terms of performance!" because i knew the 720S wouldn't fall behind in a rolling race unless it's a Chiron or something Rimac-ish .. this race proved my point

Curious to know the real dyno figures of the 750S now. It's like the 750S has the true 740HP claimed power figure, whereas the 720S has that typical Mclaren underdog 770HP dyno claimed power figure to not compete with other Mclaren model's sales 😂
