I think the 600LT is one of the top 10 best drivers cars ever made at any price point. I thought you were driving Speed Phenoms(Austin) 600lt
    Until you said it did not have Senna seats.
    I have been a fan since I saw you put on a clinic in a mustang a few years back. I was hoping you had a channel, and it finally popped up. I follow Speed Phenom and I heard him drop your name, I asked in his comments if it was you, but didnt get a reply. Im sure you get this alot but, Im a 3rd gen driver and fabricator in north Georgia. If you are ever at
    Road Atlanta, AMP, Barber, or anywhere in the southeast I would
    be honered if you would let me know as I would greatly appreciate you sharing some of your expert evaluationon my driving. Of coarse I am fully aware
    you would need to be Compensated. I also do driver instruction locally, and it would be an investment that would be well worth the cost. Great video
    Beautiful and smooth

    awesome driving; how does one get to the point of comfort sliding the rear around like this? Not just the fun and showy drifting part but also pushing the throttle out of corners and quickly using hands to keep the slide on the edge? Is this damp trackday practice? skidpad practice? I have a lotus and I'm at the point where my inputs are smooth and consistent with very consistent lap times but a few sec short of car's ability. But pushing past that and getting comfortable catching the slides is an intimidating prospect. Suggestions on practicing at and past limit would be great. Thx!

    • @OneLapBilly
      @OneLapBilly  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks! Comfort and proficiency with sliding cars comes with seat time, experience, and coaching. I learned from a "Car Control Clinic" in a racing school, but many schools no longer have great programs that teach it. I then tried practicing as much as I could, but it's extremely difficult to find legal and safe places to practice this. And most track day event organizers don't want people learning car control, so I really don't have a great answer other than maybe taking a rally school. I discuss this in an article that I wrote:

    Would like to see how much quicker the Mk. II GT has over the “base” Ford GT. I’m willing to bet the base GT is on par if not faster than the 600, with the Mk. II being another second or 2 faster.

      A MKII has already done a 1:41 lap there without a 'pro'. It uses racing slicks and is not a street legal "production car". It may be able to do a Sub-40.

      Driving cars at the limit doesn't have to be abusive or harsh on the car; and that's what I teach. It's also needed to drive the car at its limit when the student is capable of times within a couple seconds of the cars limit.

    Sorry to bum you out but many cars, maybe not at their website, has done lap times much faster then said time.
