    Thank you so much for this video. I am a 75 year young, yoga teacher. I teach 5 classes a week. This is so wonderful for my students. I have never seen it done so exquisitely. I am going to slow it down a bit and include some rest in between each pose. I know they are going to love it. Be healthy, be safe. Namaste, Charlotte

    My late mother's passing from colon cancer in August this year has spurred me to be mindful of my food intake and in order to strengthen my digestive agni I decided to give yoga a try and wanted to start off with the Suryanamaskar. This is the best video that I have come across, thus far.

    Thank you! This is day one for me and I did 11 in a row, not perfect but my best and for showing how to move your foot up and it is ok to do so. I have a bowl with 108 beads and another empty bowl. I will put one bead in when I finish one and it is also a much needed mini break for me! I hope to work up to 108 in a day. I turned 60 on Jan 12, 2024 and I have not been doing any exercises for some years now. Today is our wedding anniversary! Married 38 years and together 45 years. Thank you for this inspiration. Hugs from Ontario, Canada❤

    I've said it before and I'll say it again. The standing forward bend is potentially *dangerous* to the low back if our hamstrings are not super flexible! Rashmi Ji, you are obviously super flexible, so you can bend down and even have your palms fully on the floor. You should be advising students what to do if they are not flexible like you. It is ridiculous for you to advise students to try and achieve what you can. The key is: BEND THE KNEES IF NEEDED, AND DO NOT REACH DOWN ANY FURTHER THAN YOU CAN COMFORTABLY DO SO!!! Do NOT hurt yourself! I think that every Yoga video needs these disclaimers:
    1. Do not follow videos unless a teacher has given you at least three lessons one on one. This was the way Yoga was taught.
    2. Do not do any more of a stretch than your body will allow; the perfect pose is what suits your body and not what the teacher is able to do or demonstrate.
    3. Carefully consider your health status before doing Yoga; if you have low back problems, be extremely careful with forward bends.
    4. Always warm up by walking in place, gentle leg swings or some such warm up before Yoga; cold muscles and ligaments will not stretch; they likely will strain or even tear.
    I am a 71 year old doctor of medicine with 40 years experience, have suffered many yoga related injuries 30 years ago, but have re-started Yoga, very very carefully. It is an amazing practice, yes. But I now practice with 300% more awareness than I did 30 years ago!!! Yoga needs presence of mind, deep relaxation, proper use of the breath, and proper guidance of our Praana energy. Relaxation helps the Praana guide the entire practice and not willful force. Praana is an intelligent energy and is the real Guru within for our Yoga practice. If we do not listen, we will get hurt; we will not gain anything.

    • @Iam9ether
      @Iam9ether 4 ปีที่แล้ว +9

      This is not your video. When you make your video. You can advise the students how you chose. I'm sure if someone is not flexible they are not going to force themselves to reach the floor if they are not physically able to do so without bending their knees.

    Holy crow... my baa and mum used to get us to do Surya Namaskar as kids, but I didn't think I'd get so unhealthy that I'd struggle with one round. Feels good to do that stretch though. Thank you Rashmi didi! Only things I struggle with are weak wrists when doing push ups or planks (so I use my knuckles), and how to keep relaxed shoulders when doing the Bhujangasan! 😅
