    I am hearing from viewers the 3M sticker should be stuck directly to the bottom of the optic to seal the optics bottom.
    But Sig Sauer states the 3M stick should be stuck to the top of the slide.

    This was one excellent video!! So simple!! I would imagine that after replacing the rear iron sight and the metal plate with the lightweight polymer Romeo Zero, the gun might actually be lighter overall. I just purchased a P365XL with safety (because that’s the only version they had in stock at the time) from Academy Sports. And since I didn’t own a torque screwdriver yet, the guy behind the counter said they would install the Zero right there for me. Okay then! What I didn’t realize until he had everything out of the packaging and attaching it, that he wasn’t going to use a torque screwdriver. Yes, I was nervous watching him torque it down by hand. I told him I could have done that at home, and that the implication was that since I didn’t have a torque screwdriver, they would use one-they didn’t have one. After watching him attach it, and then watching your video, I am convinced that he used too much torque. So now I’m about to purchase that Wheeler Fat Wrench so I can loosen it and then tighten it to specs. Question: the Fat Wrench only goes down to 10 in lbs...how do you set it to 9 in lbs?

    My instructions say "Peel the included die cut chemical shield decal from its backing, and apply it carefully to the pistol slide optics cut area. This shield prevents solvents and hot gas from coming through the hole in the pistol slide and damaging the optic." They should warn you in the owner's manual to not try to take the site plate off with a small hex wrench. It takes something with which you can get some torque. The author said he already broke the screws free....that's really what I wanted to see. Hope I didn't destroy the screw heads which seem pretty soft. Hard to find a good 5/64 hex bit in my town.

    Hey just got a Romeo zero red dot for my 365xl. Just for info, I had different screws holding the sight and sight plate. Instead of using a 5/32 hex key, I had T8 torx screws in mine. So people needs to really take a flashlight and look at the screws heads to determine if it’s a hex key screw or a torx screw.

    Nice. Thx. Right now isn’t the best time to be ordering a new pistol (financially for me)had permits in the works for one of those & a surplus Beretta but prioritizing now under current circumstances.when things get back to normal this video will come in handy. Question,I’ve never owned ,or for that matter ,even shot a handgun with an optic. My eyes are giving me a fit at the moment.new glasses aren’t helping.thinking of getting lasic surgery but still interested in an optic.contacted Sig about the model that came with RZ preinstalled .asked if rear night sights came in the box.LGS owner said most pistols purchased w optic did ship w rear sights in every case he could think of.not in this case according to the response from Sig.anyhow since then ,hear haylosun(sp?)is coming out with a new model that fits that pistol.& that 1 other manufacturers model. I d bet more to follow considering how many of those are going to be sold in the long run. Any thoughts on which one is best ?or thoughts on any of those things?just trying to get the best bargain.do want the rear sights & not sold on ROMEOZERO yet so planning on ordering with out optic.looking for advice.thx again. Hope you & yours are well.

    I just got my 365 XL in today, just waiting for my background check to come back (which should be tomorrow) but my question is with it being a shake awake optic does it stay on while carrying it on you. I mean since your body is moving that’s cause motion on the gun so I’d think that’s cause the red dot to constantly be on & draining the battery, no? Or is it set up to discern the difference between being holstered vs being pulled & read to fire? Sorry if my question is odd but this will be the first red dot I’ve put on a pistol so I’m just curious about how sensitive the shake awake function is because that’s kind of suck if just carrying it in your holster & moving around like normal would cause the red dot to turn on.

    Mine crapped out on me after 2 years. These things are junk unfortunately. Mine was interesting, I'd fire a few shots at the range and it would shutoff. Then I'd fire another shot and it would turn on again. Rinse, repeat. I took it apart and reseated everything, no good.
    Save your money and get yourself a holosun or something more high end. With the holosuns you don't have to remove the optic to swap the battery. Unfortunately sig used us again to test their product.

    Trying to install mine but the two set screws underneath the slide are extremely tight. I don't want to strip them trying to get them out. Tried the allen that came with the red dot and tried my t handle allen wrench also. Neither are giving me enough meat behind it to feel safe breaking them loose. Any suggestions? Maybe one of those screw drivers you have with the allen tip bit will work better.

      I have a sodering iron and I place it on the top of the screw for a min or 2. Then I try to losen it.
      I also place the slide in a vice. Insert the Allen wrench then place a pair of channel locks on the Allen wrench. I place direct pressure down on top of the screw and I gently bump the vice grips with my mind. Not too hard. Be careful to much presre and you can break the head off the screw.
      Some times they are very tight. Take your time. Stop if you feel frustrated and take a break then try again later.

    How important is that clear 3m for the slide between the optic? Have someone that wants to trade me their optic for my top plate and theirs came with the Romeo zero

    • @sclegalcarry7979
      @sclegalcarry7979  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I think it is pretty important. There is a hole in the slide and no bottom on the optic. I am sure it is there to keep grease, carbon and debris from getting in the electronics in the optic. You can probably substitute another similar material. Can you get that part online. You may be able to remove it from his gun.

    Nice. Is that a good optic for the price? I saw it on PSA for 199.

    Ran into a problem...you "already broke the screw loose". I have used my 5/64th and the one that came with the 360XL. The screws are so tight that the heads are starting to strip and the screws haven't budged. Got any recommendations for that?

    Wish I would have got it with iron sights for cheaper than bought the romeo zero. At least then you have the irons if you want to switch. Should have come with it, not purchased separately for 70 dollars

    I'm mounting the Zero on a S&W M&P Shield Plus. The M4 screws are too long. Any suggestions (aside from buying the Sig 365xl) if I don't have a dremel, vise, or grinder or local gunsmith?

    Should the screw click when I screw it in with the Alan wrench or is it your screwdriver that does the click

    • @sclegalcarry7979
      @sclegalcarry7979  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      It is the screw driver that makes the click. It automatically stops allowing me to apply pressure to the screw at 15 inch pounds of pressure. This way I cannot over tighten the screw and it stops me from damaging the optic by over tightening the screw.

    How hard was it for you to break loose the screws holding the site and plate on? I cannot break them loose. I bent the wrench and believe I am on verge of striping the screws if I have not yet.

      I figured out the ones that hold the original iron sights and plate is short arm key (star pattern allen wrench). Not the regular Allen wrench with it. T8 torx bit in craftsman kit, is what got mine

    Anyone know what the 3M tape is for? My slide and rear sight plate are different, my slide has a hole in the center where the rear sight plates nub fits into, when i installed the 3m tape, it covers the small center hole where the nub fits into. So i cannot reinstall the rear sight again without removing the 3m tape.
