Got my Cobb charge pipe installed with DEI Gold Tape, hopefully overall I'm gettin a better result than the factory charge pipe. Wish I would've seen this video before I bought it lol!
The gold tape might help. I kept seeing people preaching huge gains from the pipe and it just didn't make sense to me from an engineering and flow standpoint
@@WT4T I as well, saying that the charge pipe made a big difference. Gold tape from what I’ve seen has shown some nice temp drops and it’s a pretty inexpensive addition.
Do you think part of the reason the charge pipe doesn't make more power is them reusing the factory pieces it goes to on the tmic just wondering if tmics like the perin or process west not using that part might have better result
I see no restriction at this boost level honestly. Other cars show similar results. It's the reason things like throttle bodies don't make power on turbo cars either until you're really running a LOT of boost
i want UEL twin scroll headers. bring the subie rumble back. Also i've heard rumors that the STI will be a hybird form of the FA platform. Which is awesome if you know about the WRC cars currently. Imagine a subie rumble with a Tesla plaid pull.

Great vid I like the tech, I had my 22 wrx on the dyno recently, ets intake, turbo back , Cobb tmic, turbosmart plumb back, charge pipe. 310hp+412tq, warm day summer 36degC, tuner said turbo was getting to much air and didn’t like it with the ets sleeve removed, preferred when sleeve was inserted . Does this make sense?
Some factory parts might look janky, but usually there's a lot of engineering that has gone into these parts, especially in decently well engineered modern performance cars.
useless mod like most of them out there. I pushed 400/475 on e50 with ets intake ONLY. When have you ever seen one of these vlogs talk shit about a part or simply state that it is useless. Never, because it is a sponsorship demo, i do the same when i build pools but used to tell ppl what works what doesnt, then i lost useless "partners" and more.
Does the old charge pipe have turbo sound dampening inside? My Saab had a double walled pipe with a net like structure on the inside walls of the pipe to dampen turbo noises.
A few reasons, this is an informational video not an install video, second I wanted to show people the peace and how it attaches but with the coupler on you can't see it as well, and finally I like to line everything up before I tighten anything down.
So because of the 0 change on the charge pipe can you swap with no tune? I am already going to be tuned for a Rae intake so I’m assuming I shouldn’t have to worry about being lean by swapping that
Do you have a video showing us wastegate duty of oem vs upgraded without retune? And possible dyno and date after retune? My engine is out and i am about to put it together and back into the car, so i could theoretically buy and wait for the header to install, as long as OEM turbo location as i am using a OEM hybrid. Would love to be able to pick up 10-20whp (or easier thus more boost) on my setup.
@@WT4T yea i cant find it, but i emailed you explaining what i am after. Otherwise, we go back to my og post--no data, just install more parts in your Subie and wonder why it blows up more than usual. why did you lose power earlier in boost ramp up without overshooting first, just losses.
@stijanjija2225 your asking for data then coming at me like I never offer it and make wild claims. Bruh. "Hey, do me a favor and dig through thousands of logs for this specific thing." At least toss a guy some tacos or a "thanks for making videos on the platform" jfc some people.
Hey bro so just looking on some info on the cylinder roughness now because my car started doing it recently when the weather changed. Bader is helping me with the revision of the map but I also like to research in my own to understand more of how it works and what causes the counts to go up.
Basically the car is anticipating each cylinder firing event to happen at a certain time, when it happens too soon or late from expected it counts a roughness.
@@WT4T is it a problem with the sensors or something? I pulled my plugs and they were set at 0.024 so I moved them to 0.020 but I fixed a few leaks I had and the car was very rich so that’s why he was sending me revisions because I didn’t realize I had all those leaks but now the AFR is better but the counts is what I’m noticing now more but no CEL.

Refer to earlier videos on the channel about clamps. We use a certain type of worm drive clamp and they have been proven good past 50psi on property prepped surfaces.
20ft wide, 30ft long, 10ft high. (So 6,000ft³) 11,200cfm of inducton fan in ceiling at front of room (about 2/3 of ideal but it is what it is) into the room. Exhaust open to atmosphere. Main vehicle fan is 1hp 26" 6750cfm fan with additional scroll fans for directional airflow.

GREAT video with great info.

Thanks for explaining the dyno correction vs uncorrected
It's a super misunderstood topic.
When u did the header, u just had to take out the jpipe and it came out clean? I see people taking out the turbo studs. This seems better
You should install a turbo inlet to see if it makes more power for comparison to stock or is it all noise?
There is one in the pipeline 👍

The sensor it uses is the crank position sensor, very rarely the issue. Usually poor fuel atomization or irregular airflow is to blame.

No, it makes little to no difference. Might actually be an ever so slight downgrade.
