Great job explaining every thing. Haven't done a piston and ring job in 4 years needed a quick refresher thank you that was quick and precise and all the little knick-knacks that you need to look for a great job

Bro awesome vid. Quick questions my timing sprocket cant come out of the head. It came tightend and the when i try to take the bolts out the sprocket keeps spinning
Did u have oil leaking into exhaust ? Was that the reason of getting a new top end? That’s my issue on my sons atv smokes and took off exhaust from head and a few drops of oil came out
Great video. I did this on my kids quad because of low compression (70psi). Leak down test, heard air in crankcase. Did piston/rings/gaskets (cylinder still has cross hatching and not gouged). Did compression test, still 70psi and still leaking air into crankcase. Ever had this issue or any ideas on what to look for? Thanks
You will hear a bit of air in crank case but you shouldn’t hear much…. Did you do dry test? Try holding throttle wide open while doing the compression test and see if that changes the psi result!
@@KGRowlo Yeah I did dry and wet. Both in and out of the bike. Engine is on my work bench right now. I did notice you have the silver edged piston ring up top and black one underneath that. Mine are switch (didn't have paperwork on what ring was what). And there were no markings on either ring. Could that be my issue? But still getting same readings as before? I'm losing my mind 😆

It’s been a while since I’ve done one, I usually check to see what position they are facing before I disassemble, but I believe the cam lobes should be facing down toward the piston when setting up the timing
im not really familiar with this motors , but i presume its like a lifan right? you should most definetly at some point do a 53mm piston on one of these things , they come stock at 52,4 (at least the lifans do) and you would think that ,06 is like nothing , but flat pistons do really suck , thats why they feel slow from factory , even the 125's . Oh and it wont cost you anything , these kits are like 50 bucks for the bore up , and you can get away with using same head , also there are the big head caps and the small ones ( i dont know how they called ,hope it makes sense) big head caps (the one that covers the timing sprocket in it) means that you can also use a stage1/2/3/4/5 camshaft
Yeah all these little motors are pretty much the same! That’s good to know! Funny thing is I actually just sold this bike today😔BUT a new 125 will be entering the channel! And I’m sure I will be trying to make it faster! I’ll have to check out different sized pistons🙏
