Taking D-ribose (along with CoQ10 (Ubiquinol), B12, L-carnitine, D3/K2, Vit C, B vitamins, multivitamin, trace minerals) was the key to bouncing me out of a 15-month Chronic Fatigue situation. With each day, my energy is increasing and my life has returned. I'm able to work, exercise, and spend time with loved ones, among other things, which were all hugely restricted from the mitochondria in my cells being depleted. D-ribose (and a few other nutrients) reversed my chronic issue and gave me my life back!

D-Ribose Foods and Sources. What foods are high in ribose? It can be found in the following food sources: Grass-fed beef; Poultry; Anchovies; Herring; Sardines; Eggs; Milk; Yogurt; Cheddar cheese; Cream cheese; Mushrooms; It can be difficult to get enough from dietary sources, however. That's why many people choose to take a supplement.

@@habibahahmad9317 Hi there, I had some free time so decided to write to you randomly. I had it similar to you. Horrible pain everywhere, overwhelming and helpless feeling, depression, wanting to bury under the covers and make the day go by quicker. Doctors told me I had fibromyalgia, I was already diagnosed with chronic fatigue syndrome. They told me I just had to hang in there, maybe take some paracetamol... Trust me, don't take doctors words as a fact, they don't always know the best. I struggled for years, could barely get out of bed, and when I did I quite frankly just wanted to OD on sleep medicine to not have to feel pain and the tiredness. I changed my diet, eliminated added sugars and most processed foods, took a good multi vitamin supplement in the morning, started eating more fruit and greens, added healthy fats from seeds, fat fish, coconut oil, virgin olive oil, took fish oil supplement every morning and pure omega 3 supplement later in the day. I started walking at the same time, at first only 5 minutes at a time, because thats all I could do. I tried doing the plank when I decided on starting to strengthen my core, my muscles failed a lot, a lot of crying, but I didn't give up. Slowly I found a good median and increased my activity level to always be at tolerable levels. My mood improved, my heart and breathing improved, my muscles started releasing slowly over time and becoming stronger, easier to keep myself up and get through the day. I started waking up with more energy, wanting to get up because I felt like I had things I needed to do. I needed to get up and take care of myself, give my body what it needs. Suddenly the pain was almost gone and I had energy and desire to see friends again, stay in touch with family, start working, finding hobbies. All this in 7 months. From not being able to move for 5 minutes, to walking uphill mountain trails for 2 hours, strengthening exercises and more.
If I can, I know you can too. The hardest part is getting to the point where you realize that by giving your body, which is a machine, what it needs to function and heal - miracles happen. Give it what it needs and move your body. Your body can only do what you make it do.. If all you do is lay in bed and never do things to change, thats all your body will be able to. God bless you and hope you have a wonderful life.
      ~ Joe

I have been following the advice offered by Dr. Mandell and one other and in the last 8 months I have fought, fought like never before, which is hard with all the symptoms crossing over, but kicking and screaming I am seeing big improvements to all my bodily systems. Losing the inflammation I shed over 2 stones in a few weeks, with this the pain diminishes.

I have Congestive Heart Failure and I take this stuff every day, 3x's a day, 3 scoops full (that come with the product). I usually put it in my morning coffee (decaf of course) and in herbal teas or vegetable juices as well. You can't really taste it to know it's there in your food or drink. Plus, I have diabetes as well and it does not raise the blood sugar level at all! The best thing of all is that it has given me so much more energy in my day, and I can feel that it's recharging my heart :) I do take it alongside other important supplements (Coqu 10, Magnesium, and L-Carnitine). Thanks Dr Mandell for bringing this tremendous natural sugar to the forefront of this talk. :)

I've tried d-ribose 2.5g daily and on the second day, my cfs got worse. Sleep was also affected, kept waking up breathless multiple times. So I stopped taking it on third day, and had 10hr good sleep that night. I'd recommend cfs patients to not blindly take the recommended 5g daily dose straight away. Every cfs patient is different!!! Also experienced diarrhea side-effect.

@@Mantras-and-Mystics My personal experience is food that "cools down" the body tend to help - I mainly take some watermelons daily. Isotonic drinks have the same effect but be mindful of the sugar content.
I also avoid "heaty" or imflammatory food that makes my cfs worse - chocolates, anything with caffeine, fried food, vitamins.
Edit: Recently I find 1/4 teaspoon ginger powder mixed with hot water (twice daily) also helps.

Dr mandel. Thank you so much for this information. I am a type Ii. It's good to know that this is something I can try and see if I can manage that carefully. My body is very sensitive to medications and also supplements so I was really glad to hear that you were explaining what five grams is equal to in milligrams. So I found a deribos brand that is one scoop twice a day and each scoop is 5 g so I've decided to try it with only half a scoop to start with and see how my body works. So grateful for your explanations. It helps with understanding since I am not a science savvy person. Blessings to you and your dear mother!

My Rheumo told me about your in 2000. It's about time it's getting around. Ofcourse I have a degree in science and understand biochemistry. Thank goodness for Dr D. I've lived with fibro and CFS for 18 yrs post op from a ADEF x2 with titanium plate and bone from my own iliac crest. He said that the trauma of my accident and the surgery caused the fibro. 15 yrs later now I'm hearing Drs speak of trauma causing this.

I've also lived with this for 18 years. Mostly bedridden. I didn't have an accident or surgery. But I know people who have, and they don't have cfs. I think my root cause was exposure to toxic mold. It was hidden. When I'd leave the environment for a few days I'd feel better. That's how to tell. Good luck. I wouldn't wish this on anyone.

Fight? I’ve been fighting ME/CFS for 20 years I had succeeded. I became super ultra healthy and fit. People think I am 15 years younger than I am. In the gym working hard 5 to 6 days per week. Diet of no wheat, no gluten, no dairy (except) unpasteurized organic kefir) no sugar, nothing packaged everything organic. I stick to this diet strictly for almost 20 years.
Now, since May 2021 it’s been a merry go round of horrible issues where two of those times I wind up in ER. Me??? to bizarre. I “Cured “the last of the symptoms or what I thought was the last of the symptoms which was agonizing acid reflux… Cured with apple cider vinegar thank you so much doctor. But now I have developed pain all over my body. My glutes feel like I just worked out yesterday and I haven’t seen the gym in a month. Have stabbing pain from head to toe in the joints mostly. I don’t know where to go from here. I could not be healthier. Thanks to this video I will add back again D ribose. And I hope it will help but I cannot imagine that it will fix everything. Other than that I have nowhere to go😢

I don't like confessing I have fibro, I don't want to speak that over myself, but i apparently Have it..... Chronic Fatigue, High Blood Pressure, Fibromyalgia, depression and anxiety. Also ADD. 100lbs over weight and I am only 5" tall, so you really see it. Leaky Gut and I am addicted to drinking Coke (pop). I really hope this stuff will help me get off coke, and I hope it is not super expensive.

Donna Davidson Hi Donna, I too was addicted to Coca-Cola. But I found might blood sugar and cavities sent me on researching why I had a hard time quitting. I found out the sugars I craved and lived on feeds an organism that lives in the intestine (candida?) and this in turn highjacks our brains to make us want more sugar to make sure it gets a constant supply of food. Besides Coke is bad for the bones, so I weaned myself off sugars, having to be firm with myself that it is in my best interest to do so. Good luck and best wishes for getting on a good path to good health. Take care....

Donna Davidson Hey Donna, you will need to switch drinks. If you like oranges, do organic fresh orange juice and dilute it with a little pure water. The oj will kill a lot of toxins.viruses, etc., all fruits will get these bugs out of you which is causing the weight, I was that way, did a gastric but if you can do it on your own, you will save yourself PAIN! Get yourself on pterostilbene, GABA (for obesity), L-tyrosine and start learning from Anthony Williams medicalmedium.com and of course continue with Dr. Mandell!Your body is needing sugar but not what you are getting it from do this d-ribose (I learn a lot from Dr. Mandell, too!)...medical medium.com tells you the foods to chow on and only a few supplements which won’t cost so much. Start little by little, if you can start eating tons of fruit, killing all the parasites will make you feel soooo much better. Do you get cold sores? If you do, you need to kill that herpes simplex virus 2, that will ruin you if you have it for decades like me, learned you can kill it, takes up to 18 months! You can do this!!!

My biggest complaint is I exercise every day, I walk my dog almost every day and for all that I do physically to strengthen my muscles and such, I end up in more pain and fatigue and the next day it's still the same. I feel like ground hog day movie in that I am not seeing any benefit at all. My muscles are not improving, my endurance is not improving at all. Each days is as if I'm just beginning any form of physical activity. Sweeping and mopping my floors puts me down for 2 days afterward. it's awful and I can't get anything done anymore.

I’ve had fibromyalgia for 20 + years. It is always best if you can get natural products that help, however about 10 yrs ago I started taking Cymbalta and I got my life back. It helps me so much with the pain. If you don’t get results you want don’t rule out Cymbalta.

Choose Joy I went to Pain Clinic, but I don’t take ‘drugs’ (worse side effects than the ones they are for!) I prefer natural solutions. The Pain Clinic offered Mindfulness sessions; I borrowed a meditation book, with a CD of all the meditations. I now join in online meditations several times a week. As I relax, I release my body tension and with it, the pain. 🙏

It is a good exclusive guide for getting rid of chronic fatigue syndrome without the hard work. Ive heard some interesting things about it and my close friend Aubrey at last got excellent results with it.

I was like that also, for a long time. Try and heal a little each day. Giving up gluten, cheese and coffee. Always stay away from gluten. Bone broth. Keep adding small things like that each day. It takes a long, long time but i firmly believe it is possible to get better over time. We have to respect the process. Rest when you need to, move when you can. Ketogenic diet is good

No I didn't really feel much different at all apart from I remember having a little more energy. Think I've tried most of the recommendations out there and not felt any different . I have been taking low dose naltrexone for the last 2 weeks and I feel slightly better. I don't like taking prescriptions but with the LDN I can feel something happening, my head is clearer, my pain is less and I'm sleeping better . After years of having fibromyalgia I actually feel for the first time something is working without any side effects. X

Hi doc, I have a Q: most of the foods that contain d-ribose are very commonly consumed, eg cheese and meats. and you r saying that we only need about 3-5 g per day right? Surely we r getting that much from the foods, yet we are still suffering from fatigue, pain and so on. So how effective can it really be?

safi456 Foods can't compete with supplements foods don't have a strong enough dose to make a difference you must supplement....... Its the same for vitamin D3 (vitamin D3 is actually a hormone), vitamin K and minerals like magnesium calcium zinc....... So important to supplement when you are dealing with chronic illness All the best

Thanks Dr. Mandell for such great info online. You've opened my eyes to what could possilby help my fibromyalgia. I'm trying everything I can to help with pain. I'm trying turmeric supplements for inflammation and cbd oil... can you do a video about them?

      YES!!
Great suggestion about CBD comparisons. Even though I had the medical marijuana card, I couldn't stand any of the THC effects. Hated it.
Now one can buy hemp oil without the card, because they are free of the psychoactive component THC. However...
There are many companies and varieties available, including different ways for intake. One MLM company allegedly uses nanotechnology, another has a formula for vaping, and then a myriad of manufacturers to choose from.
Totally overwhelming to figure out because I have fibro, CFS, possibly MS, some blindness, and completely bedbound from whole body partial paralysis, with cognitive deficits.
      Let's upvote this!!!
Thank you for the fantastic idea.

Susan, I am 3 weeks in with a keto diet plan and lost 9 lbs so far. Energy is still short in supply but the pain is gone. I eat fish...no tilapia...leafy greens, nuts,(no pistachio) and sea salt, turmeric, acv, and lemon in my water. Eggs and bacon w spinach. Good luck...I know this is hard. Hang in there...I hope this helps you. Oh, I forgot a very important avocado. One a day. I will give the d-ribose a chance. It's my last hurdle. Best wishes.
