@@mauijttewaalAre you kidding me? Emma is A LITTLE GIRL forgodssakes! It doesn't mean that she weren't extremely talented and good FOR HER AGE, but you cannot really compare a developing child and a mature adult. It is just absurd. Two completely different leagues. Look at Marianne Faithful in her youth and in her fifties and you will see what an effect lived life has on her expression (quite an extreme example to make the point).
Lara's performance of this piece is transcendant, and I love the way that she creates so much aching tension in those big tenor 'flex' notes - it's completely different to the way most men sing this 'aria', and for me, her interpretation is the most profound that I've heard. The lyrics focus a lot on Caruso as a performer, on stage and in his life, and my goodness, does Lara take the cue to heart. For someone who has not pursued an operatic or musical theatre career (or even by comparion to someone who has) her acting skills are crazy. Every moment of this performance, even as she walks on to stage, and in the silence following the final note, she is completely invested in the character and the story that she is presenting to us - her voice, her gestures, her facial expressions, everything has been thought through meticulously, as Jess suggests, to allow the emotion to pour out of her in an unbroken stream. It's really extraordinary, and it sets her apart, in my opinion, from other singers of her generation to whom shs is often compared as some sort of runner-up. In terms of the goals she set herself, she is peerless, in my opinion. Almost as captivating as Lara's performance is the captivated expression on Jess's face. I really admire her knowledge and analysis, of course, but the way that her thoughts flicker across her face from moment to moment really hits me in the feels. When she starts waving her fingers around, I totally lose it. If I was 30 year younger and straight, I might think myself to be somewhat in love with her! But I'm not, so that's fine 😊.
Nothing can beat this rendition. It’s just incredible. Her choices and small details are just mind blowing. And that is what is lacking in music nowadays. They don’t really care about the ART of music
What can I say about Lara that I haven't already said... for me, she is the voice that most resonates with my soul, and although I recognize that there are wonderful voices in the current scene, I haven't found any like Lara's. As for your analysis hehehe, what else can I say, I think nothing. I only hope that in the near future you will do some collaboration with some of the singing teachers who also do analysis and reactions to singers. If I have to ask for another Lara's song it would be Perdere l'amore from the same concert, but you have a lot of music to bring to your followers and, besides, you have to think about the celebration of your 100K followers. A big hug
What a charming message, so warm and respectful at the same time. Jess's expression when something is really doing it for is such fun to watch, wrinked nose and fingers flying. I knew she would like this one - Lara's command of her Italian is incredible, sk9 salty and smooth at the same time, like a plump fresh anchovy.
Lara Fabian is touching us all. You should discover another belgian singer woman called Morane. They made duets Lara and her. You will probably love her song called " Sur un prelude de Bach ".
Her mother was sicilian. Lara has two native languages: italian from her mother and french from her father who is belgian. Her mother's father was an american from Detroit so she is fluent in english. She speaks spanish too. She sings in twelve languages .
Italian is the first language she learned as a baby. While born in Belgium, where her father is from, she spent all her childhood in Sicilia where her mother is from, until 7 yo when she moved back to Belgium. She has spent since then a lot of time in Sicilia, is married to a sicilian man, and is even now living in Sicilia (since end of 2022).
Caruso, is an italian song, written, composed and performed in 1986 by Lucio Dalla as a tribute to Enrico Caruso, the most famous tenor of his time (late 19th / early 20th century). He was the first global singing superstar. The story is about the last days of Enrico Caruso, he knows he is dying, and he is remembering all his career on stage and telling his much younger wife how much he loves her. It has very quickly become a classic of italia music and the biggest names have covered it (Julio Iglesias, Andrea Bocelli, Josh Groban, …. and of course Luciano Pavarotti). But for many, Lara's version from the concert From Lara With Love 2000 th-cam.com/video/BP2KnLemT78/w-d-xo.html is the best ever, as she was able, with her unique ability to convey the emotions of a song, to reveal the real sad story written by Lucio Dalla. I was told that Lucio Dalla himself, after hearing this performance, said that she made it her song and this is the best version he has heard from it. For Lara, this song is really important as this is a kind of anthem for Italy, and she is so much connected to this country. She spent the first few years of her life there with her sicilian mother and grandma. Her husband is also sicilian. She also as been living there for the past few months since the end of 2022.
Thank you for getting back to Lara. I love your analysis❤ of any song, but especially those of Lara. You offer insights no one else does. Again, thank you.
I agree. I don't understand how some people who "analyze" singing videos are still on TH-cam. The analysis here is top ktch and very educational. I only watch her and The Charasmatic Voice.
I'm amazed that after watching dozens of reaction videos about that song + versions of it, it's only now that I learn about the true story behind its origin. Thanks a lot
TY - always love your reactions...so knowledgeable and engaging. Lara is the Queen for me, and this song, sung by many, mostly by men, including Pavarotti, is now Lara's. Dalla even said it. Note : I am old enough to have seen the Maestro live. I adored Luciano. In those days we all did. He sings this song very differently than Lara, but with great respect, molto rispetto, I like Lara's better, better than all other covers.. A small fact. In the song, Caruso is overlooking the Gulf of Sorrento (see spelling)...Lara sings "Surriento"...not a mistake, it was quite intentional on her part. As is everything she does. "Surriento" is how a Neapolitan would would have pronounced it, and Caruso was from Naples. Lara...misses...nothing. The Queen, long may she reign.
I want to start out by saying that the conversation (happening within the lyrics) is reminiscent of absolute privacy, hence the intimacy that Lara very clearly brings to the table. This woman, LARA, is unreal, like a performing arts genius in the way she executes the entire piece. The poetic value of this song is extraordinary and so intrinsically delicate, and our amazing and beautiful Lara is portraying and carrying it across so stunningly, like the perfectionist I see here. Her storytelling ability is another part of her that is growing in me bringing me closer to her as the perfect singer and stage performer. Your reaction here I find of great value. I would like to see you grow in what you do here and trying to achieve. Thank you and God bless. ❤
This is the best of the best... the best analyzing singers and the best performer of all time (IMHO). If I can, I'll be at the premiere, otherwise, I'll listen to it again and comment again. Thank you very much for this new video, and a big hug from Spain.
What else makes her stand out among thousands of singers - she is a wise vocal designer. Even though she has a limited amount of vocal tricks compared to Mariah or Dimash for example - it's never boring to listen to her as she gets you involved and holds your attention from the very first note till the last one (or breath, lol, she likes ending with sighs). I would recoomend "You're not from here" by Lara, trust me, you'll be served.
I disagree that she has a limited number of vocal tricks. She incorporates an incredible variety of tones and sounds and affects. Her brilliance is in her perfect selection for the mood she's creating and her absolute smoothness going in and out of them. You can get hit with 10 of them and not even realize what happened. She never chooses an approach to show off, but always in service to the song, which is not something I have heard any other singer do like she does. That's why it seems like a few others may have more tricks, because she never treats them as tricks.
It should remind you of the other performances, it is the exact same show. I was lucky enough to see her live last year. She was kind enough to space out the tearjerker like je suis malade and Caruso to let us recover a little. There was a lot of droopy makeup at the exit! Hahahaha!
Been waiting sooooooo long for you to do another Lara reaction. Love how thorough and insightful your analyses always are, and this one didn't disappoint. Please more Lara in the future!
Lara Fabian is one of the most touching singers in the world to see and listen to. She has a register that adapts to all genres of music. To listen to incredible performances, you must listen to three classic pieces with IGOR KRUTOY: VOCALISE (Ascolta la Voce), MADEMOISELLE HYDE and an absolutely phenomenal performance, in Russian, LUBOV POCOCHAYA NA SON. Listening to this is a pure delight for the ears.
Great reaction video. Thank you so much for sharing.❤❤❤ This wonderful artist has put a spell on me....I`m in a Lara Fabian loop from hell and i love it...She is my Nr.one femal singers of her generation.
..and once you hear her, you get addicted. You can hear 30 times the same live interpretation of whatever song as You are not from here, Perdere l'amore, Broken vow, The prayer, Je suis malade, Caruso, Walk away, Addicted to you, The Alchemist etc. etc. at each listening session, you have goosebumps all over your body. This phenomenon is just incredible.
Jess, your deep analysis expands my understanding of this famous song and I particularly appreciate that you explained the story behind the lyrics. Thank you for that! ♥
Hello, Jess. I'm a French person who enjoys your videos. I've noticed that you appreciate Lara Fabian like myself, and I would like to suggest another song to you. It's a song she sings with a sadly deceased singer named Maurane. Surely, it's a song you won't present, but it's for your personal collection. This song is called "Tu es mon autre."
Thank you for this reaction. I really really am hoping that you will make a reaction on 'Perdere l'amore' too. Such a beautiful emotional song!@@jessicasopranonotes
Thank you for the history of this song. Since you are a proud opera singer, I knew you would fully appreciate this heart touching tribute to the GOAT-Greatest Of All Tenors. Despite the fact that he passed away in 1921 there are said to be more than 200 recordings of Caruso performing arias. As for Lara, she is one of a kind herself, and since her mother is Italian, the language is a natural for her.
🇨🇦 Your comments and observations are spot on, but one other thing I would draw your attention to, is that each syllable in every word, within every sentence of each lyric, is sung Completely and absolutely Clearly, no matter what language she is singing in !
Very nice analysis. Lara is one of the greatest voices on the planet and without doubt the greatest living perfomer. The purity of her sound and the way she inhabits the persona of the songs creates a magical experience unmatched by anyone I have ever heard.
Lara Fabian is fluent in Italian, French, English and Spanish and sings in many other languages. Like Laura Pausini she shows respect to her musician(s).
She is one of my favorite female singers…she is great! One more thing to put out there is that she can sing great in Spanish as well, look it up titled “quédate” you won’t regret listening to it 👌
You can also find a TH-cam video with Pavarotti singing this song. It's interesting to compare them. Pavarotti is of course flawless, and Laura is matchless at conveying the emotions of the song. TBH watching Lara sing is as good as hearing it. She is a fantastic performer. If you would like some raw hotness, try her singing "Tango Mi Amore" --the live version. She almost becomes the passion she's singing about
I was right! As for who you should take a listen to next, my suggestion is the great Babymetal. A few months ago, they performed on The First Take, a TH-cam series where a band performs a stripped-back version of a couple of their songs and only get one shot at it. The song I'm recommending is "Monochrome," a song that give Suzuka "Su-Metal" Nakamoto a chance to show off the power, clarity, and emotive ability of her wonderful voice. Here's the link. th-cam.com/video/h-hPGRSjgms/w-d-xo.html
I'm so happy you covered this one too. This performance and "Je suis malade" opened my eyes to what an amazing singer and interpreter she is. She LIVES it. You can see it in her eyes. ✨✨✨
Your analysis is admirable. I really appreciated your reaction to "Je suis malade", I absolutely loved this one and I know in advance that the next ones will be excellent 🌹
Loved your additional info on this one. My wife and I stayed in Sorrento a few years back. Beautiful part of the world. I always enjoy your reaction/analysis videos. Lara is top shelf in all departments.
Thank you so much for taking the time to research the history of the song. It really helps to truly understand the context and essence of the song. I have a much greater appreciation for the masterful flawless performance Lara gives us. I know the video doesn’t do it justice. Every time I hear this rendition I am at awe. She literally teleports you into a raw and beautiful journey into the two souls that were experiencing this heart ache. WOW! Priceless ❤️ I wish I could have been there and see Lara performing live. God bless her.🙏🏽🤗
Luccio Dalla also sings his song and that is also a masterpiece. He is also speaking/singing the lyrics. You can surely listen or react to one of his version live. Lara does the speaking in different parts of the song though and this is something she does in many of her performance. This is not an easy exercice. But she is so much into the song that it seems so natural and comes with so much more emotion. I would definitely recommend Perdere l'Amore from the same concert Lara with Love (emotion an belting and speaking and low notes and and and....) or in English I guess I loved you from regard neuf concert (how to sing a song with your eyes closed and still captive your audience).... Looking forward to it. Enjoy as well. Ciao.
she is the best female singer in the world, Facts to know, she was signed with Sony at the same time as Celine Dion, She put out her fist album in which her dance song went to #1 in USA, I will Love again...then Sony made a decision to back Celine instead of Lara. They both come from same city in Quebec, Montreal, they were both same age, they have a similar voice, But Celine had a better manager and they forced Lara out. She became huge in Europe because she is fluent in 4 languages, she is a song writer and she sings in 6 languages. She was a Judge on the Voice France and Quebec and she won as a coach in both. Her songs are sung by Barbara Streisand and Josh Groban, Michal Bolton, worked with David Foster etc...check out her songs, Llora Video about Battered women In Spanish with english subtitles, I Guess I loved you, Broken Vow, Love is like a dream in Russian, Je Taime in French Yentel Medley in Montreal concert,etc....She is number 1 in the world.
Ciao, bellissima reazione e bellissima spiegazione tecnica e LARA fantastica artista e fantastica donna. La prossima canzone (PERDERE L'AMORE) stesso concerto FROM LARA WITH LOVE......sentirai che potenza !!!! Tanti saluti dall'italia
The best singer deserves the best analysis!! You, dear Jess, are a gem, might I say as always!? Lots of congratulations for the fast approaching 100k 🎉 and a JUBILEE ❤❤❤ All the best from Switzerland 🇨🇭
Hi! Old soprano here! I'm enjoying your reactions to all these singers. I know you made a video of your five favorite mezzo-sopranos a couple of years ago. If you haven't heard the Norwegian mezzo Astrid Norstad yet, I'd suggest searching her ASAP and listening to her Ave Maria based on the Intermezzo from Cavalleria Rusticana. It's from heaven. One of the best voices I've heard in ages. I keep imagining her singing a duet with Lise Davidsen.
I first heard this piece from Hauser the cellist. It quickly became one of my favorites; the expression is otherworldly. Thank you for sharing this with us!
I like you so much, because you're genuine with your reaction and your facial reaction..... Then there's this excellent analysis and interpretation. N.b: please also check the original song by Lucio Dalla, it's very different from Lara Fabian's cover.
Congratulations for the Italian pronunciation and for having approached the song by taking essential information for a complete experience. Lucio Dalla was a great musician, composer and 360 degrees artist from Bologna.
Another one I was dying for you to do!!!! Omg 2 in a row with you doing videos I requested a long while ago, although I want the only one I sure. I ADORE your analysis. You are so emotionally mature and your face Doesn't lie, you're technical analysis is insanely good!!! You are truly appreciated!!!!
Obviously this is a completely different genre and technique to opera. But that is where I have to turn to find a comparison for the sheer level of beauty I hear from Lara in this performance. For me, La Superba - Montserrat Caballé comes to mind as an equal in terms of the beauty of the voice itself. I am in complete awe of them both and of the fact it is possible for a human being to create such glorious sounds, absolutely incredible 💙 ETA - Great point about the effortlessness. That is something that has always struck me about La Superba. It was as if her incredible, nurtured voice simply existed within her and all she had to do was open her mouth and release it. I am not a singer or musician, so I apologize for my clumsy language in trying to describe this. But it is something we hear from Lara as well in this performance. The lines when she sings “I love you very much” in a higher, somewhat lighter placement the sound seems to hover and ring in the air. It brings to mind impossible contrasts like a swirling, fluffy, slow motion laser of sound. Those words don’t even go together. But no expected collection of descriptives serves to adequately describe her voice
Thanks Jessica for the reaction. Great reactor and great performer is always a good recipe. For your next reaction, I would also recommend Perdere l'Amore from the From Lara with love concert... Or I guess I loved you from Regard neuf concert. Enjoy !!

It's a song she sings with a sadly deceased singer named Maurane. Surely, it's a song you won't present, but it's for your personal collection. This song is called "Tu es mon autre."
Best performer, perhaps ever.
I am soooo looking forward to this! It (again) will be one of the best reactions to Lara Fabian in the Net!
Thank you! 🥰
As for Lara, she is one of a kind herself, and since her mother is Italian, the language is a natural for her.
queen lara great reaction x
You’ve got to listen to Lara’s « Je ‘aime » live 2005 Thé audience sings for her and Thant the original song….AMAZING
Great choice ..
I would have suggested Broken Vow or, above all, Perdere l'amore, but Caruso is also a marvel.
Her voice resonates like a bell on those straight notes
The way she looks at the veins of her arm when she is saying you are the blood of my veins.
Yeaaah. Looking forward to this too. Can't wait.
She is one of my favorite female singers…she is great! One more thing to put out there is that she can sing great in Spanish as well, look it up titled “quédate” you won’t regret listening to it 👌
Lara is the Queen Of Resonance and as you pointed out a master of vowel coordination.
Goosebumps ❤ Thank you so much for this great video 💐
My pleasure 😊
Hi, beautiful woman! Do you remember Diana Ankudinova?
Awesome reaction! Thank you for your exquisite analysis.
Italian is a beautiful language, particularly when sung. Lara takes it up one more notch of beauty! Wow!
I love your enthusiasm for the music.
Can't wait for this one! You'll love it!
Wonderful breakdown, per usual! She is amazing, one of my absolute favs! I see you are close to 100K in us subscribers! Awesome.
I love all your amazing reactions !
Beautiful as always. Lara is the Queen. You should check out her live performance of Barbra Streisand's Yentel Medley. You will beblown away.
Really looking forward to this!
She almost becomes the passion she's singing about
I’m crying ,this is just so beautiful !
He was dying, that's why it was that emotional! 😭
Oh, this will be good.

I'm so happy you covered this one too. This performance and "Je suis malade" opened my eyes to what an amazing singer and interpreter she is. She LIVES it. You can see it in her eyes. ✨✨✨
Your analysis is admirable. I really appreciated your reaction to "Je suis malade",
I absolutely loved this one and I know in advance that the next ones will be excellent 🌹
That was wonderful.
Thank you Jess!
Beautiful Song
WOW! Priceless ❤️
I wish I could have been there and see Lara performing live.
Ciao.
Amazing lady.., amazing performer ❤️
OH DEAR ! I CRY AGAIN LIKE A BABY, TO MUCH STOCK IN MY HEART ❤
Bravo, Ms Jessica!
Lara Fabian já o fez porque de facto é a melhor das melhores.
she is the best female singer in the world, Facts to know, she was signed with Sony at the same time as Celine Dion, She put out her fist album in which her dance song went to #1 in USA, I will Love again...then Sony made a decision to back Celine instead of Lara.
What a voice! What a performer! Bravo
Great reaction and a masterful performance by Lara. Thank you.
Very nice love lara❤❤🇨🇼🇨🇼🇨🇼from curacao and holland
The best singer deserves the best analysis!! You, dear Jess, are a gem, might I say as always!?
Lots of congratulations for the fast approaching 100k 🎉 and a JUBILEE ❤❤❤
All the best from Switzerland 🇨🇭
Thank you so much!!
I keep imagining her singing a duet with Lise Davidsen.
the last reaction saved you
Thankyou for a thoughtful and intelligent reaction
I first heard this piece from Hauser the cellist. It quickly became one of my favorites; the expression is otherworldly. Thank you for sharing this with us!
I like you so much, because you're genuine with your reaction and your facial reaction..... Then there's this excellent analysis and interpretation.
N.b: please also check the original song by Lucio Dalla, it's very different from Lara Fabian's cover.
Congratulations for the Italian pronunciation and for having approached the song by taking essential information for a complete experience. Lucio Dalla was a great musician, composer and 360 degrees artist from Bologna.
what's incredible is that in the live performances of 2023 she makes even more incredible notes at the end of the song.
Καλώς ήρθες στον μαγικό κόσμο της βασίλισσας μας. ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️Εύχομαι καλά ταξίδια στην συνέχεια.
Enjoyed your reaction to one of my favorite singers
When I heard someone else react to this I thought of you ,and how much you would love this .I love your reaction keep up the great work.
Many congratulations on 100,000 subscribers (well nearly)! Amazing and well done!
Greetings from London 😀
I love your reaction and your way to explain the story behind the song.
Glad I found you. Excellent
Love your reactions
Another one I was dying for you to do!!!! Omg 2 in a row with you doing videos I requested a long while ago, although I want the only one I sure. I ADORE your analysis. You are so emotionally mature and your face Doesn't lie, you're technical analysis is insanely good!!! You are truly appreciated!!!!
Thank you!!
Obviously this is a completely different genre and technique to opera. But that is where I have to turn to find a comparison for the sheer level of beauty I hear from Lara in this performance. For me, La Superba - Montserrat Caballé comes to mind as an equal in terms of the beauty of the voice itself. I am in complete awe of them both and of the fact it is possible for a human being to create such glorious sounds, absolutely incredible 💙
ETA - Great point about the effortlessness.
Absolutely one of the greatest events in storytelling....
Thanks Jessica for the reaction. Great reactor and great performer is always a good recipe. For your next reaction, I would also recommend Perdere l'Amore from the From Lara with love concert... Or I guess I loved you from Regard neuf concert. Enjoy !!
Really nice react. Thanks for that shared moment.
